Compared to my other cosmetic experiences, Dr. Belasco was very slapdash and treated a $1,300 procedure as if it were a routine in-and-out COVID shot. I have been coming to Blue Harbor Dermatology to see Dr. Kevin Belasco for several years and he has always been an adequate dermatologist, so I decided to explore his cosmetic dermal filler options. I simply wanted to get one syringe of filler in my tear troughs and 40 units of Dysport on my forehead... However, the experience has been anything but simple; and riddled with disappointments. After paying a whopping $830 for a single syringe of Restylane and $13.75 a unit for Dysport... (Both, supposedly at the "discounted rate") I expected the job to be done, correctly. In addition to Dr. Belasco filling the incorrect area of my face, he did not have enough Dysport to do the full 40 units in my forehead, so he asked me to return later in the week to complete the procedure. I purchased 40 units of Dysport for my forehead, but when Dr. Belasco returned with the syringe, he said. "I don't have enough Dysport to do the full 40 units today; you will have to come back for it later in the week." Before the filler treatment, Dr. Belasco disclosed that he does not inject tear troughs very often, so I told him, "I only wanted to proceed if you are completely comfortable doing the procedure." Dr. Belasco indicated that he was comfortable, and he proceeded to inject my face. After applying a tiny amount of dotted filler to my outer orbital rim, he told me that he had a large amount of filler leftover, and he asked if I would like it applied to my nasolabial folds, so I said, "only if there is enough in my tear troughs"; he proceeded to fill my nasolabial folds. It was not until after I got home and the swelling had gone down that I realized that he did not inject my tear troughs, but had done my upper cheek area. After the swelling subsided, I called and talked to the office manager, Kennedy, to tell her my concerns about the filler; she told me that Dr. Belasco would speak to me about my concerns when I came in to get the remaining Dysport injections. Upon returning to the office later in the week, Dr. Belasco confessed to not being comfortable with doing the tear trough injections, as I had requested. Dr. Belasco has a great bedside manner and did a great job on the nasolabial fold filler, but sadly; that is not what I paid for. I have had fillers and Botox frequently in the past with other doctors and have never had a problem. Compared to my other experiences, Dr. Belasco was very slapdash and treated a $1,300 procedure as if it was a routine in and out COVID shot. After talking to both Dr. Belasco and his Office Manager, I feel that the situation was not addressed properly; and Dr. Belasco referred me to another doctor that does "the risker" procedures. I will not be returning to Blue Harbor Dermatology, and I do not recommend anyone to see them, for either, medical or cosmetic procedures. Best Wishes, Shane Tinsley P.S. I have seen replies to other clients, and before someone from Dr. Belaco's reputation management responds with a rude and snarky reply, keep in mind; I have been professional and kind through this process. I have documentation and proof of all of these claims... Update 4/29/22: I got a phone call at 5:59 today from Blue Harbor but I missed the call. I immediately called back back, but they were closed for business. They didn't leave a voicemail, but I'm assuming it was to discuss this review. Attached is a photo of my phone log.

BEWARE: legal threats and harassment! A day after posting my review, Christine (the wife who I never met) called me to apologize for her husband and said he should never discuss pricing with patients and agreed that was wrong. She acknowledged that the girl who gave me the paper to sign is supposed to always go over the section where it mentions that lab fees will be a separate charge. She asked if she could try to make the scar look better with some shots over the course of a few sessions. No guarantees, but we could try. I accepted her offer. She also told me that she wants to contact the lab to see if a refund might be a possibility. A few days later to my surprise I received a check in the mail from the lab crediting the fees that I paid them. I was happy she offered to do this for me. However I want to mention that I still paid the surgery fees and I never asked for a refund for anything. April 2: I met Christine and she was very apologetic. She told me that my scar is most likely a keloid scar. She gave me a shot, azelaic acid foam, and SPF. She then told me my review would ruin their reputation and blamed my review for backlash from other patients and asked me to delete it. I told her that I'd think about it bc if I continued to have a pleasant experience with them and I can see that they are genuine and professional, I could update the review. She thanked me for giving her a chance and made my next appt for 3 weeks later. April 3: I get a missed call from Monica at Blue Harbor (no idea who she was). She left me a vmail asking to call back. A few hours later she emailed me asking again to call back this week and then 1.5 hour later I get another email saying that my review is "misleading" and threatened to take legal action and that I have to call back today. Harassment much? It's unfortunate bc I wanted to give them a chance. But seriously, one day later the office is bugging me all day long just because I didn't take my review down? I never said I would. And Christine is the one that begged me to come back and apologized for what happened! I never asked her to do anything! She did it on her own free will! I call back Monica and find out that she's the front office clerk. It's cowardly that Christine or the Dr didn't call me themselves. Here's a summary: 1) "Your review is misleading." How? It is 100% true and it accurately describes my experience. I still stand by it. And if you thought you did no wrong, then why did you reach out to apologize to me, offer me a credit from the lab, then give me a complimentary shot and schedule my next appt as well? You know you were wrong and you were trying to fix it, that's why. But because I did not remove my review immediately or have a chance to edit it after only ONE DAY, now you're upset and wanting to take it all back. 2) "The scar is based on your body and that has nothing to do with us." Maybe, but either way this is what it looked like before and after your office. I am not a doctor, but maybe a different kind of incision could have been made? Also, since Asian skin is more prone to forming keloid scars (this is what Christine told me), then maybe the Dr could have offered a shot, like the kind given to avoid keloid scars after C-sections? Or maybe could have been sucked out? I'm sure there are many other ways. 3) "The pricing has to do with your insurance and not with us." Huh? Billing goes through your office to my insurance so yes it does involve you guys. Your office creates the charges and fees so that insurance knows what to bill me. 4) "Our attorney team will take action on your review." Nothing like a good ol' threat. It is my First Amendment right to write about my personal experience! 5) I asked to clarify what was meant in the email stating that they would reverse all favors. I told her the only thing I was credited was the lab fee. Are they going to bill me for something they refunded me a couple days prior? She said "Oh, I thought you got credited back the full amount including the surgery." I said no I did not. This office has communication problems. You guys should check with each other before harassing me. THE NEXT DAY April 4th: I get a missed call and vmail asking to call back by Friday, but just 25 minutes later (!!), I received an email (see pic) retracting their word bc I didn't call back within the 25 min lol. Didn't even give me ample time to respond! First of all, do you know that I have a job, family, friends, errands to run, etc? Secondly, now you're not at fault? Really...because that's not what you said when you called me apologizing for everything and begging me to come back. Third, how am I not reasonable? I never had to speak to you, or give your office a second chance, or respond to any calls or emails, but I did. Maybe my scar might be just the way my skin heals, but my review is based more on the way this office treated me. Unbelievable impatience and unprofessionalism.

I noticed that even though my implants were behind the muscle wall, they were beginning to droop on one side where I could actually pinch skin to skin.. I made an appointment with Dr. Dubrow's office.. Within a few weeks, I was able to get an appointment and go in to have my implants removed. Currently with the implants I was a G. Due to having an lumpectomy, I was under the impression that I did not have much of my own breast tissue left and this is why the doctor recommended implants to begin with. But at this point I had had my implants replaced multiple times and continued to have trouble. When I spoke to Dr. Dubrow and his amazing assistant Jackie and explained the trouble that I was having and that I wanted the implants removed. Unfortunately, my husband was not able to attend the consultation due to how fast I was able to get my consultation so we did it over FaceTime. My husband was still hoping for a larger outcome. My expectations were anything healthy. Even if that included a size A cup. After surgery, Jackie had shared my postop surgery report with me. As I expected the chemo and radiation had damaged the tissue in my right breast to the point he had to remove a lot of tissue in order to lift my breasts evenly. Coming out of surgery with the scarring and the stitches , the swelling and everything. I definitely was completely flat chested. But as the days went on, my breast started forming and dropping just as they said they would. I am currently five months postop into my surprise. I am a 34D. Needless to say my husband is extremely happy and so am I. This has been such a wonderful experience and it is all due to a doctor's office. That truly knows what they're doing. The surgeon was a triple board-certified plastic surgeon I had known for over 30 years. I trusted him and believed I was in excellent hands. The result was terrible. My breathing worsened and my nose looked unnatural. I lived with that outcome for over two years, trying to rationalize it, but I couldn't. This was my face. It affects how I breathe, how I sleep, and how I feel every day. So I did serious research. What I learned changed everything. Rhinoplasty is not just cosmetic. The nose must function. We are meant to breathe through our noses. When the structure is weakened or obstructed, airflow is compromised. Air must move freely when you inhale and exhale. The internal support has to remain stable so the airway does not collapse. Without that support, you mouth breathe, wake up tired, and constantly feel like you're not getting enough air. I experienced all of it. My research led me to Dr. Aaron Kosins in Newport Beach. Because mine was a revision case -- after my nasal bones had been broken in the first surgery -- preservation rhinoplasty was no longer available to me. I had missed the boat. Preservation rhinoplasty reshapes and repositions the natural structures of the nose instead of aggressively "hammering down" the bridge and rebuilding it from scratch. Dr. Kosins is one of the pioneers in using ultrasonic piezo instrumentation to precisely sculpt nasal bone rather than manually breaking it. This allows refinement of what a patient is born with while improving both appearance and function. Due to the prior damage, significant reconstruction was required, including cartilage taken from my own rib to rebuild and properly support my nose. If I could give one piece of advice: only do a piezo surgery! Dr. Kosins is widely regarded by his peers as a world expert in rhinoplasty, including preservation techniques and complex structural revision cases. Many established surgeons seek out his workshops and cadaver labs to refine advanced techniques. He has the rare ability to communicate directly, thoughtfully, and sincerely. From the first meeting, I knew I was finally in the right hands. And then came the result. It was a knockout. My breathing is excellent. Air moves freely through both sides of my nose when I inhale and exhale. There is no resistance, no collapse, no struggle to get enough air in or out. For the first time in years, breathing feels effortless. Cosmetically, my nose looks natural and balanced -- not artificial or overdone. I also want to acknowledge his team. Risa, the practice manager, was accessible and organized throughout the process. Judy was BEYOND amazing!!! After surgery she called and texted us multiple times a day, every single day, making sure I was doing well. We also had direct access to Dr. Kosins whenever we needed him. I never felt alone or uncertain. Choosing Dr. Aaron Kosins and his team made a major difference in my life, and I am extremely grateful.

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the outcome of my breast augmentation and with the level of follow-up support afterward. I had surgery on May 5, 2025. Around 4-5 months post-op, I began noticing significant asymmetry developing. By the time I returned for my follow-up appointment in September, the issue had already become very noticeable. At this point, I developed capsular contracture on my left side, causing the breast to feel hard, tight, and unnatural. On the right side, the implant dropped significantly lower than the left, creating visible asymmetry and uneven nipple positioning. I also experienced poor scar healing around my right areola, with the scar remaining thick, raised, and persistently itchy nearly a year later. To be fair, Dr. Kosins did acknowledge the asymmetry during my September appointment, discussed revision options with me, and his office provided information regarding the Allergan warranty coverage. I understand capsular contracture is a known risk of breast augmentation surgery and not necessarily the result of negligence. However, what left me disappointed was the lack of continued follow-up and support afterward. After the initial discussion regarding revision options and warranty information, there was no further outreach, follow-up phone call, scheduling assistance for next steps, or even scheduling of my one-year post-op appointment/check-in. As a patient navigating an upsetting complication less than a year after surgery, that absence of communication left me feeling unsupported and alone in the process. I never expected perfection, and I understand complications can happen with any surgery. But when complications do occur, communication, reassurance, and aftercare matter just as much as the surgery itself. Patients deserve to know not only how successful outcomes are handled, but also how they are supported when results do not go as planned.

He explained that I had natural asymmetry and suggested two different implant profiles (demi and full) with a 65cc difference to create better balance. I truly appreciated his honest, thoughtful approach and I am so glad I trusted his expertise because I am very happy with my results. One of my biggest hesitations about breast augmentation was fear of going under general anesthesia. The Preservé technique itself is incredible because it uses IV sedation and local anesthesia instead, and the downtime was only a few days. Knowing that Dr. Kelishadi is one of the first plastic surgeons in the United States able to offer this advanced technique made me feel even more confident in my decision. His wife, Dr. Sherry, who is the pharmacist, was also wonderful. Their non-narcotic pain protocol was amazing. Avoiding nausea and grogginess was very important to me, and they completely delivered on that promise. The practice is extremely organized and thoughtful -- they even provided all medications in advance along with a duffle bag, scar gel, a recovery journal, and a cute pink velour outfit set for surgery day. These details made the experience feel very supported and personalized. Valerie at the front office is incredibly helpful and responsive, Kendal the nurse is kind and reassuring, and Brianna the surgical assistant made me feel calm and cared for throughout the process. Even at my 1-month follow-up appointment, Dr. Kelishadi and the team treated me with the same level of hospitality and respect as day one. You can truly tell they care deeply about their craft and about their patients' outcomes. Overall, this has been a wonderful experience from start to finish. If you are considering breast augmentation, I highly recommend scheduling a consultation with Dr. Kelishadi. He is truly an artist, and he has an exceptional team behind him who make the entire journey feel safe, thoughtful, and seamless. I am so grateful I trusted them with such an important decision and would confidently recommend their practice to anyone looking for natural, beautiful results and a genuinely caring surgical experience.

I came in for a consultation specifically to discuss Lipo 360 and nothing more, and from the moment…read moreI arrived, the experience felt comfortable, calm, and professional. The office was easy to find, very clean, and had a relaxed atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. The front desk staff especially Valerie -- was genuinely kind and welcoming. I want to mention her specifically because my experience did not align at all with some of the negative comments I had seen online. In fact she spoke very discreetly. The office staff / assistants/ nurses? Were warm, respectful, and seemed to genuinely enjoy working together, which speaks volumes about the culture of the practice. After intake, the doctor came in and completely -- and respectfully -- challenged my assumptions. Instead of simply agreeing with what I thought I wanted, he explained in a clear, thorough, and professional way that I would likely benefit far more from a tummy tuck and breast lift than Lipo alone. That level of honesty is exactly what I was looking for. One thing I want to be very clear about: when I'm choosing a plastic surgeon, I'm not shopping for a friend or prioritizing "customer service" in the traditional sense. I'm looking for someone who is highly qualified, direct, and knows exactly what they're doing. After reading how the doctor responds to his own critical reviews, that actually increased my confidence in him. He doesn't deflect, sugarcoat, or hide the ball instead he emphasizes accountability, communication, and realistic expectations, which I deeply respect. As an attorney, those same principles are central to my own consultations. He was human, transparent, and straightforward but not dismissive, not salesy, and not overly polished in a way that feels inauthentic. There was zero pressure to move forward, even though this would be a major surgery and my personal circumstances currently require patience and planning. He answered every question thoroughly, provided additional information I didn't even think to ask, and made it clear the decision was entirely mine and could wait. I also verified his pricing independently, and it is exactly in line with Orange County market rates for a board-certified surgeon fair, realistic, and appropriate for the level of expertise. You def pay for whst you get so a lower price quote would havebeen a red flag to me. Another thing that stood out: the doctor was focused, energetic, and fully present at 5 PM on a Thursday. No rushed energy, no burnout just professionalism and clarity. Although I didn't book surgery immediately, I am absolutely confident that I will be having these procedures done here within this year. I will also refer anyone who asks me for a plastic surgeon in Orange County to this office without hesitation. there are several components that may how I run my business. For example, the fact that they charge for a consultation also speaks volumes. The surgeons time is valuable, and if you want a meaningful consultation, it makes sense that you would pay at least an hourly rate and his consultation was a little bit lower than I would have charged. Which I believe is very fair. This is your body you're dealing with. You don't want to put your body in the hands of just anyone. Overly sales focused, lower prices and no consultation fee are all huge red flags. Thorough. Honest. Direct. Potentially a mind reader lol! Professional. Exactly what you want when making a serious medical decision. Thank you for the excellent experience. I wont even consult with anyone else. When the time is right im booking with SSK.

What truly stood out to me was something so simple but so meaningful. When I asked Erin for her honest opinion about implant choice, she said, "If you were my sister, I would choose these for you." Those few words meant everything to me. In that moment, I felt genuinely cared for,not like a patient, not like a number, but like someone they truly wanted the best for. That's when I knew I was in the right place! It was also such a huge bonus that the entire experience was surrounded by women. There was something so comforting and empowering about that. Dr. Lawton was incredibly gentle, but also realistic about my goals and expectations. She was patient with me when I didn't fully understand certain things and took the time to explain them in different ways until I truly felt confident in my decision. I actually left after my consultation thinking I would take the week to decide. I sat in my car for a few minutes... and then walked right back in to move forward because nothing had ever felt so right or aligned for me. I'm now almost a month post-op, and I could not be happier with my results so far. I love what I'm seeing, and the confidence I've gained is unreal. feels life-changing. My only regret is not finding Dr. Lawton and Erin sooner. I'm beyond grateful for them.

He even handled my court case and made $15,000 off of that which we lost the case and we are in debt from all of my nose surgeries. I had emailed him about an estimate for my nose, it was around $30,000. I had my consultation once again after the waited time period, we talked about fixing the holes (dents in my nose from missing cartilage), and fixing the irregularities. I booked the non refundable deposit of $1,000 after meeting with him and scheduled the surgery thinking the quote would similar to what he quoted me on email. The receptionist (I can't say names on yelp), sent me a quote of $187,050. I was floored. I lost the deposit money and we can't afford almost $200,000 for a nose job. I am filled with so many questions of why? Where did we get so lost? My emails are ignored now. I lost the money to the lawyer to the last surgeon who botched me, we're in debt from 4 surgeries that botched me, and I put all my eggs in one basket as to the hope for him to fix me for good. We can't even get a loan for $200,000. I'm really down and absolutely shocked that he said he would help me, but surprised me with a price tag that's insurmountable for what we can afford. It's saddening. My hope is gone for surgeons. They're greedy and money hungry. I hope this review gets him to read what emotional toll this has taken on me, and to think before you charge a patient $200,000 to fix irregularities on their nose. I'm no millionaire or billionaire, I'm a mom raising a toddler who has had a really hard time looking in the mirror. I wish he would have kept his word. Only God will judge us at the end as to how we treated those in need of help but couldn't afford a quarter million dollars to get it.

If my words can prevent even one woman from the mental anguish this has brought me then it would be a disservice to remain silent. I had an augmentation with Dr. Bandy a couple years ago and just recently explanted with a different surgeon. I initially chose her because she was the only female surgeon in my area (I did not want a male surgeon) who would give me silicone implants before the required legal age of 22. It was so important to me to look natural and proportionate. I brought in reference photos, and was adamant on 400ccs, yet somehow was convinced to get 700ccs. Nearly double what I wanted. Mind you, I am only 5'3 and 115lbs. I was very unaware that the bra used to try on sizes would make the implants appear smaller, which led to naïvely trusting in the consultant to go bigger. I was then told I needed to size up even further because they would be under the muscle. I was not accurately informed of how the outcome would look and how awful the recovery process would be. There was an all around lack of professionalism, we even had to pay the anesthesiologist under the table. I regretted it immediately and have hated my body for the last two years. I reached out shortly after expressing my regrets and dissatisfaction with the size, but was told I just had temporary buyers remorse and would be fine. I opted not to inform them of my continued dissatisfaction in order to be left alone. I was not fine. I have felt absolutely mutilated and disgusted by my outcome and have been grieving the loss of my natural body ever since. There aren't even words to express the mental anguish that this has brought me. She had to use spacers in order to fit the giant implants into my small frame, which caused significant trauma to my body. Again, the severity of the entire procedure was glossed over and I was reassured by Dr. Bandy and her consultant. But just before the procedure, she said something along the lines of "I don't know if I can fit these in you, but I'll try". I felt the most excruciating pain of my entire life for weeks. One implant bottomed out in less than a year and I had severe animation deformity in both breasts. I also had significant lateral displacement and rippling. I couldn't stand the sight of my body naked or clothed. I felt hideous. I looked extremely disproportionate and suffered all kinds of pain from the 3lb implants. I began to develop breast implant illness within just months of the procedure, which persisted and worsened over time. The only praise I can give is that my scarring was barely detectable. I also had a nipple (not areola) reduction, which she did a good job on. I was finally able to afford an explant with another doctor recently. This surgeon was extremely professional and informative, walking me through every available option and assessing me thoroughly to ensure the best outcome. I decided to only have an explant and muscle repair because I did not want lift scars. She made sure that I was aware of the mental and physical recovery to come, and that I had a support system in place. Her and her team were incredibly caring and empathetic for what happened to me at this practice. By the grace of God, my skin has retracted and my breasts are very similar to what they were before the augmentation. I now bear the explant scars as a reminder that I never needed to permanently alter my beautiful body, especially not in such a brutal and traumatic way as this. If you are wanting a cosmetic procedure, especially a breast augmentation, please research deeply and consult with multiple surgeons. A good surgeon should tell you when something is going to be too traumatic for your body. They will suggest what is proportionate to you and will inform you on everything you need to know. A good surgeon will not upsell you and mutilate you for the sake of money. They will care about your well being and satisfaction. Please, please be diligent in research.
