I couldn't find a Dermatologist that would see me on short notice. A nurse recommended I called Dr. Belasco's office and I was glad I did. Scheduling was very easy and I did it all online. Parking is tough, there is some outside parking, a small garage and valet. I just parked across the street. I showed up early as requested to fill out paperwork and was seen by Dr. Belasco on time. I didn't feel rushed, he listened to me, provided his expertise and was spot on with the diagnoses. Highly recommend Dr. Belasco! read more

I went to blue diamond Dermatology the other day for the first time. They were very busy all the seats were taken and people were standing waiting. It is a smaller waiting room so there's not enough seating for their patients. There is valet parking at that building, which has nothing to do with them so unless you find a spot which is rare and their parking lot to park, you do have to pay for valet parking, which is only three dollars at this time. The office staff is nice and friendly. The doctor came in with an assistant to take down all the information and he looked at my spots that I was concerned about and froze some of them off all my other ones on my back he said were fine. He seemed a little rushed. Suggested I get some certain cream gave me a pamphlet for my dry skin out the door they went after saying see you in six months. They should take a little more time with their patients and don't seem so rushed. read more

After a negative experience about 8 yrs ago, we have ANOTHER. My husband starts getting texts and emails to confirm an appointment with Blue Harbor Dermatology, where he has not been for abt 8 years, and does NOT have an appointment. He replies to the texts, "I do not have an appointment." We send a msg from the "contact" page on their website, "I do not have an appointment." Then he gets a notice that he owes $75 for not showing to the appointment he didn't have! When he calls, the lady gives him attitude, like he's lying about missing an appointment. Overcharged by the office's mistakes. Despite providing my insurance information, I was first only charged $10 when my copay is usually $40. Then they sent me bills saying I owed $30, had to email them to pay it... Now months later, I randomly receive a bill for $105 that says it's overdue and says my insurance wasn't active at the time of service, I assure you my insurance has always been active. It's also impossible to talk to the billing department so I'm on hold wasting my time for their mistakes. The actual clinicians are "ok", I wasn't impressed with the care. read more

Dr. Belasco is a class act and phenomenal doctor. He genuinely cares, works tirelessly to find the right solution for his patients and even was able to secure me an incredibly expensive medication (not covered by insurance) for FREE! That's right, he got me on a "covered until you're covered" manufactures program that quite literally saved me from being covered in psoriasis after the creams stopped working. The medicine was literally $100k+ a year and he went to battle and got it for me, free. I've seen some negative comments about billing etc, but if you're looking for a seasoned doctor that truly cares and will pull out all stops to ensure you are properly treated, then come here. Dr. Belasco saved my life. That's not for dramatic effect or an over-exaggeration either. I was covered in psoriasis from head to toe and my joints felt like I kept fires lit inside my body. I could no longer live like that, no longer be a gross, depressed outcast always in pain, always uncomfortable in public, etc etc. Because there's no true 'cure' my thoughts would often end up....well, "negative and worse" will suffice. You know what I'm talking about. After seeing several dermatologists and being told there was nothing left to try I was close to resigning myself to a shut-in agoraphobic lifestyle. My wife convinced me to try one more doctor because a friend recommended him and raved about his ability to fix anyone. With nothing to lose I said ok and went in. Dr. Belasco listened to me, was caring and compassionate and wanted to treat me not just see me. I immediately trusted him and said I'd do anything. Within four months of treatment my skin was 95-100% clear and my joints only hurt when the weather is extreme. It's been almost 2 years and since starting what he recommended I've never relapsed or experienced any adverse side effects. Compared to my other cosmetic experiences, Dr. Belasco was very slapdash and treated a $1,300 procedure as if it were a routine in-and-out COVID shot. I have been coming to Blue Harbor Dermatology to see Dr. Kevin Belasco for several years and he has always been an adequate dermatologist, so I decided to explore his cosmetic dermal filler options. I simply wanted to get one syringe of filler in my tear troughs and 40 units of Dysport on my forehead... However, the experience has been anything but simple; and riddled with disappointments. After paying a whopping $830 for a single syringe of Restylane and $13.75 a unit for Dysport... (Both, supposedly at the "discounted rate") I expected the job to be done, correctly. In addition to Dr. Belasco filling the incorrect area of my face, he did not have enough Dysport to do the full 40 units in my forehead, so he asked me to return later in the week to complete the procedure. I purchased 40 units of Dysport for my forehead, but when Dr. Belasco returned with the syringe, he said. "I don't have enough Dysport to do the full 40 units today; you will have to come back for it later in the week." Before the filler treatment, Dr. Belasco disclosed that he does not inject tear troughs very often, so I told him, "I only wanted to proceed if you are completely comfortable doing the procedure." Dr. Belasco indicated that he was comfortable, and he proceeded to inject my face. After applying a tiny amount of dotted filler to my outer orbital rim, he told me that he had a large amount of filler leftover, and he asked if I would like it applied to my nasolabial folds, so I said, "only if there is enough in my tear troughs"; he proceeded to fill my nasolabial folds. It was not until after I got home and the swelling had gone down that I realized that he did not inject my tear troughs, but had done my upper cheek area. After the swelling subsided, I called and talked to the office manager, Kennedy, to tell her my concerns about the filler; she told me that Dr. Belasco would speak to me about my concerns when I came in to get the remaining Dysport injections. Upon returning to the office later in the week, Dr. Belasco confessed to not being comfortable with doing the tear trough injections, as I had requested. Dr. Belasco has a great bedside manner and did a great job on the nasolabial fold filler, but sadly; that is not what I paid for. I have had fillers and Botox frequently in the past with other doctors and have never had a problem. Compared to my other experiences, Dr. Belasco was very slapdash and treated a $1,300 procedure as if it was a routine in and out COVID shot. After talking to both Dr. Belasco and his Office Manager, I feel that the situation was not addressed properly; and Dr. Belasco referred me to another doctor that does "the risker" procedures. BEWARE: legal threats and harassment! A day after posting my review, Christine (the wife who I never met) called me to apologize for her husband and said he should never discuss pricing with patients and agreed that was wrong. She acknowledged that the girl who gave me the paper to sign is supposed to always go over the section where it mentions that lab fees will be a separate charge. She asked if she could try to make the scar look better with some shots over the course of a few sessions. No guarantees, but we could try. I accepted her offer. She also told me that she wants to contact the lab to see if a refund might be a possibility. A few days later to my surprise I received a check in the mail from the lab crediting the fees that I paid them. I was happy she offered to do this for me. However I want to mention that I still paid the surgery fees and I never asked for a refund for anything. April 2: I met Christine and she was very apologetic. She told me that my scar is most likely a keloid scar. She gave me a shot, azelaic acid foam, and SPF. She then told me my review would ruin their reputation and blamed my review for backlash from other patients and asked me to delete it. I told her that I'd think about it bc if I continued to have a pleasant experience with them and I can see that they are genuine and professional, I could update the review. She thanked me for giving her a chance and made my next appt for 3 weeks later. April 3: I get a missed call from Monica at Blue Harbor (no idea who she was). She left me a vmail asking to call back. A few hours later she emailed me asking again to call back this week and then 1.5 hour later I get another email saying that my review is "misleading" and threatened to take legal action and that I have to call back today. Harassment much? It's unfortunate bc I wanted to give them a chance. But seriously, one day later the office is bugging me all day long just because I didn't take my review down? I never said I would. And Christine is the one that begged me to come back and apologized for what happened! I never asked her to do anything! She did it on her own free will! I call back Monica and find out that she's the front office clerk. It's cowardly that Christine or the Dr didn't call me themselves. Here's a summary: 1) "Your review is misleading." How? It is 100% true and it accurately describes my experience. I still stand by it. And if you thought you did no wrong, then why did you reach out to apologize to me, offer me a credit from the lab, then give me a complimentary shot and schedule my next appt as well? You know you were wrong and you were trying to fix it, that's why. But because I did not remove my review immediately or have a chance to edit it after only ONE DAY, now you're upset and wanting to take it all back. 2) "The scar is based on your body and that has nothing to do with us." Maybe, but either way this is what it looked like before and after your office. I am not a doctor, but maybe a different kind of incision could have been made? Also, since Asian skin is more prone to forming keloid scars (this is what Christine told me), then maybe the Dr could have offered a shot, like the kind given to avoid keloid scars after C-sections? Or maybe could have been sucked out? I'm sure there are many other ways. 3) "The pricing has to do with your insurance and not with us." Huh? Billing goes through your office to my insurance so yes it does involve you guys. Your office creates the charges and fees so that insurance knows what to bill me. 4) "Our attorney team will take action on your review." Nothing like a good ol' threat. It is my First Amendment right to write about my personal experience! 5) I asked to clarify what was meant in the email stating that they would reverse all favors. I told her the only thing I was credited was the lab fee. Are they going to bill me for something they refunded me a couple days prior? She said "Oh, I thought you got credited back the full amount including the surgery." I said no I did not. This office has communication problems. You guys should check with each other before harassing me. THE NEXT DAY April 4th: I get a missed call and vmail asking to call back by Friday, but just 25 minutes later (!!), I received an email (see pic) retracting their word bc I didn't call back within the 25 min lol. Didn't even give me ample time to respond! First of all, do you know that I have a job, family, friends, errands to run, etc? Secondly, now you're not at fault? Really...because that's not what you said when you called me apologizing for everything and begging me to come back. Third, how am I not reasonable? I never had to speak to you, or give your office a second chance, or respond to any calls or emails, but I did. If I could give Dr. Belasco 6 stars I would! I have been struggling with severe scalp psoriasis for 10+ years now, for as long as I can remember! The itchiness was so bad I couldn't even sleep at night. I've seen multiple doctors and specialist and nobody could do anything about it. I discovered Dr. Belasco, booked an appointment, and not even 2 weeks later I was completely 100% healed. I could not even believe it! Dr. Belasco is a miracle worker and I'm so grateful I stumbled upon him! I could tell the second he walked into the room that he truly cares about his patients. That's really all I could ask for. Please read if you have ever gotten care here or plan to. Check the amount you were billed at your appointment with your insurance claim. This practice overcharges patients and does not tell them that they are owed a refund after the insurance claim comes. They say a deductible hasn't been met when it has, and that insurance tells them a payment amount that is higher than what the claim ends up saying. This has happened to me over 2 years with 2 different insurances, so I bet it's happening to you, too. I can say that I think Dr. Belasco is a great doctor. He is kind, thorough, and always has a student learning from him. I can also say that when I pointed out that they owed me money, they did refund it. Here is my experience: I came here in 2023 for a mole check. Dr. Belasco biopsied a mole and it came back as needing an excision, so I went for one a few weeks later. This same thing occurred in 2024. At my first appt in 2023, they charged me a copay and my full deductible. I had Aetna at this time. At my second appt, they tried to charge me a copay and my full deductible again. I showed them that I had met my deductible (at their office, a few weeks earlier) and only paid the co-pay. The same thing occurred at my appts in 2024, and I had United. I again only let them charge me a fraction of what they tried to at the second appt. They told me that my deductible was 2x higher than what I thought it was, and I showed them on my phone that they were incorrect. However, when I was showing them, I noticed my deductible wasn't met despite paying them the full deductible a few weeks earlier. I checked the claim from the first appointment and found that I was overcharged by about $80 and that's why my deductible wasn't met. When I went to check my first appointment from 2023, I found I was overcharged by almost $250. Both times, the claims were significantly reduced by insurance from what they charged, so I should never have been charged my full deductible. (Despite my payment not going towards my deductible at my 1st 2023 appt, it was still met through other things by the time I went to my next appt, so that isn't why they believed my deductible wasn't met). Had I let them charge me what they asked for both of my second appointments, I would have been overcharged another $500. Essentially, billing "contacts" insurance, and insurance gives them an amount to charge (so they say), which is collected at the appointment. The claim comes back later, and it has a patient responsibility amount much lower than what was charged at the appt. The patient is then owed money by the office, but the office does not alert the patient or refund the money unless the patient notices. They might claim this is an accident or on the fault of insurance, however the fact that the exact same situation happened to me with 2 different major insurances, and it hasn't happened to me with any other doctors, leads me to believe that can't be true. Regardless of intent, they do not alert patients when they owe patients money. I would be shocked if they were unaware; surely they audit their financials. They definitely cross-check their billing with claims because they were sure to bill me when a claim came back where I was undercharged $3. Either way, they might owe you. The kicker is that I missed an appt at one point and got charged a $50 fee. They then charged me a $25 late fee on that, at a time when they owed me ~$250. I paid the late fee prior to realizing they owed me money. I asked for that late fee to be refunded, and of course they refused, but refunded me $5 "as a courtesy". Across 4 appointments, they attempted to charge me ~$1300. The total I actually owed based on my claims was ~$480. Please cross-check your claims with what you paid them at your appointment, and do not trust what they try to charge you at the office. I won't be returning to this practice unless they start universally billing after the insurance claims return and charging only co-pays at the time of appointment. read more

This is the most professional kind and caring dermatology group I have ever been to The physicians are outstanding. The nursing staff is amazing. I have had some work done there that I anticipated would be painful. The care they give to their patients to make sure that you don't feel even a pin prick is simply amazing. The explanation of the aftercare and the follow up is superb, And they do all this without doing a hard sell on some special product that they manufacture for a high profit. One of the worst experiences of my life . These jokers actually used my credit card and charged me for missing an appointment which they had no signed authorization to do . As a matter of principle I refused to pay them since I was Cleary tied up at work and gave them the heads up . They sent it to collections and now my credit is affected . Stay far away from these people . Anytime anyone disagrees with a review they yell slander as they make sarcastic comments about sending a missed appointment to someone's credit . Christine it is a fact that reviews are covered by congressional law and protected from words that lack accountability like slander . Stay away from this place if you have any skin related issues. The staff and doctor doesn't know what they are doing. He treated me incorrectly as eczema for a different infection and put me on steroids which aggravated the condition and started getting rashes all over by body. They charged me a total of around 500$ for the incorrect diagnosis. I am trying to get into a call with their manager to discuss this and it has not happened until now. Came to Dr. Belasco to have three milia under my eye removed. Unfortunately, the extraction has left scarring, which I did not expect from speaking with him prior to the procedure. I believe it was because he needed to cauterize the wounds after the extraction since they were bleeding pretty heavily, which I found out increases likelihood of scarring. I scheduled a visit with Dr. Belasco for a skin check as I had an unusual mole on my leg that had grown over the last year. When I expressed my concern, he was very condescending and told me it was nothing to worry about, and "let's review what types of moles we're looking for," going on to describe the typical findings of melanoma. After further discussion he said he would biopsy it just to ease my concerns. It turned out to be squamous cell carcinoma, and I had to return to have it properly removed. I felt like he minimized my concerns and had I not been insistent, this could have become a much worse issue. read more

Dr. Belasco is a great dermatologist. I saw him for a large cyst I had developed after another doctor somehow misdiagnosed it as a possible fatty tumor. Dr. Belasco found the problem quickly and treated me for the infection and inflammation. What I like about Dr. Belasco is that he doesn't pressure you into undergoing a procedure; instead, he explains the process in detail and respectfully asks you if you want to do it or not. I had the same treatment for almost 8 years from at least 5 doctors in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Tennessee. Usually a laser treatment cost 200+ dollar, and steroid injection is always covered under insurance. He gives you the time to talk, listens and is very thorough when doing an exam and explains what each mole etc. is and whether it is a concern or not. The doctor was alright. Because of how terrible the billing department is, I wouldn't recommend going here. After 3 months of calls and emails, and showing them there were no claims submitted by them to my current insurance, they sent a "severely past overdue" letter. Too much hassle.
