Well don't know about the food. Walked in. Stood around for about 10 minutes and never had anyone come sit us. So we left.

We loved the local feel..seeing the collegiate sport team highlighted.. Now for the food...I am ABSOLUTELY STEALING this menu item!! Pork Belly & Grits. I choose poached eggs (Our server even asked how "poached" I wanted the egg) love that touch When I ask our Server about their corned beef and hash. She replied "everything here is homemade". She saw the look of disappointment in my face as I really love homemade corn, beef hash. She then suggested why don't you go with this menu item where you could actually get two breakfast entrées split down into one cohesive plate. What a brilliant idea! Definitely great for foodies who wanna try more than one thing but don't want to spend that much money and get that much food. This has been absolutely hands-down, the highlight of our road trip and truly plan on returning back here again!

Great green beans, mashed potatoes, chicken fried steak / chicken. My dad told me that the chicken and noodles were almost better than his moms - that is the highest praise you can get! Great diner experience in the heart of Wichita. Come casual, you will leave full.

The ambiance was quaint, with a country style, homey, laid back. The picnic style table with vlear top threw me for a minute, as you can see through the cracks. Service is where the err was apparent. Initially, the waitress was on point, but after her first pass by, when she asked if everything was OK, I requested bbq sauce. She disappeared into the kitchen, then brought something out to a different table. She went to sit with a co-worker at another table. My husband got up and walked over to the table to ask for bbq sauce. We waited, but no action. The woman at the same table was yelling to someone in the back. There was a claim that the machinery wasn't working, as the guy behind us was skipped for awhile. The cook came out. My husband asked HIM for bbq sauce. Eventually, the waitress brought a cup, but at this point, it was pretty much moot. We dipped a few fries in as a show of good sport, but it was too little, too late. When I went to pay, the cook rang us up and gave us a discount. He apologized and explained the mechanical deficiencies . I gave the waitress the balance of the discount, so everyone was happy.

This is a true little town place and I loved every moment of it. The first time I stopped in I found a seat and was promptly greeted and asked what I'd like to drink. I got unsweet tea and man was it good tea! They had all you can eat catfish so I went for it! It's cut into small strips and breaded and fried and it was absolutely perfect. Breading to gosh ration was perfection. I was asked if I'd like them to go ahead and get a second basket of catfish cooking and I said yes. It came with a piece of butter toasted Texas toast yum!The tartar sauce was delicious as well. I ordered a side salad which is just lettuce and shredded cheese and I got ranch...it was awesome. I had fried okra and mashed potato and gravy. All was incredible. I loved the decor and the staff was just amazing all the way around with every person I encountered. This is a place where you don't feel like the people hate their jobs and are just getting through. Everyone knows everyone and I really enjoyed seeing that. All good reheated was just as good the next day! The slow place of a little town has my heart since I grew up in small country area and now live in the city. It was so nice to slow down and not feel a bit rushed from driving in the road to this perfect little diner. I went back the next evening for dinner and the place was a bit busier than before and had large families gathered. I was greeted and ordered an unsweet tea. This time I tried the chicken fried steak smothered in white gravy with mashed potato's and gravy and a side salad with ranch. Again everything was perfection! Best chicken fried steak I've had in awhile, again breading to meat ratio was perfect and breading was crunchy and golden brown. I then was asked if I'd like dessert and they said they had peanut butter chocolate cake. I got it to go. Holy moly was it a slice of heaven! It was just what I needed to go along with the rest of my home cooked comfort food. Little diners like this in small towns do t get many reviews on Yelp and I always do my best to promote them when they are amazing like this one. I support local whenever I can. If you are ever close by this is a must stop in place. I don't have a single negative thing to say. Thank you to all who made my experience just wonderful! The first night I was there a gentleman in the back quietly paid for my meal and I wanted to go thank him but he asked the waitress not to say it was him and I wanted to respect that. Do you know how long it's been since a stranger did something g so kind for literally no reason? If you see this sir, thank you from the bottom of my heart. We need more of this on our world. Kindness is everything. Do NOT pass this place up, you will be missing out big time!
