My mothers sink was clogged so we called him, he left without fixing the sink and left it clogged and proceeded to charge her $430 for the sink. He has very bad bedside manners and was yelling across the house to get her attention whilst asking her to do the job basically, he made her go downstairs and see if the pipe was fixed and heard anything going down the drain, when she said she didn't know what to look or listen for after coming upstairs he said go back down and listen again. We hired David the plumber to do a job for one of our customers, at 4 Fern Lane Poughkeepsie, he was hired to install 2 vanity faucets, and additional plumbing work that were incorrectly installed we had to call him back several times to get him to fix the leaks that were caused by his lack of experience and incompetence, we thought he was a licensed plumber, but it turned out to be he is not licensed at all, but he has his van wrapped with his name "Davide The Plumber" this guy is a fraud I am warning everyone, to stay away if you don't want to want to deal with the stress, once he takes your money he will not go back to warranty his work, unless he is threaten to be sued. Whatever you do not hire this person. Our Attorney have been informed of the work he did and he is being sued. after several attempts to go back to fix his shabby job he would not go back to fix the issue, so we are suing him and we are filing a formal complaint, with the town of Poughkeepsie letting them know he is going around to homeowners doing work without a plumber's license. read more

David came to my house to fix the handle in the shower, simple job to any professional but I don't think he is a professional plumber. First of all he wanted me to stand there and help him and when he finished the hack job on the shower handle he said he was out of caulk. Stay away from this lazy unprofessional hack, many other competent plumbers to choose from. read more

I have used David twice and can highly recommend him to do a great job. The first involved excessive water usage due to leaks in all my toilet tanks. He fixed the issue very quickly. Unfortunately, he does not show up when he says he will, nor does he call or text to reschedule. You may get him on a good day. First time we used him, he showed up and did the job. Recently called for another simple plumbing job. First said he was having surgery, so we scheduled around that. Then on the day he was supposed to come, said he was tied up with calls from the cold snap. Okay...was supposed to come the next day, never did. I texted - no reply. Completely ghosted. And now I am reading that other people are saying he's not a licensed plumber! Do yourself a favor and hire a professional. read more

Beware may not be a licensed plumber can't find doesn't say on his website or from the town!!!! We called David the plumber once to snake the drain and he was great nice came on time and did the job. We called him again to fix a leaking hot water heater. He asked us what we thought was wrong and we thought it was the pressure valve (we just guessed we are not plumbers). He replaced it and charged us never checking anything else. The next day we saw there was still water on the ground and we looked all around and found that it was leaking from a nut on the bottom. We called David again and told him that didn't fix the problem and found the leak. He said we need to replace the whole hot water heater now so we did his recommendation. He charged full price even though he didn't fix the problem the first time. He came out a few days later to replace the water heater and the day of said oh did i mention you need an electrician too do you have one. I said no you never said we needed one so we had to pay a premium to get one asap for this install. After he installed it he shuts off our boiler saying since you switched to electric you don't need this on. A few days later the boiler was leaking from multiple spots. And we called David again. I guess he was out of the country and could help us so we had to call another company to look at it. They asked why did we shut off the boiler it's cast iron and cracks if it's not left on. We informed that's what the other plumber recommended and he shut it off. They also looked over his work and saw hot water piper cut with no caps improper jointing on the copper pipes bad wiring for the hot water heater and other issue with the units installation. We had to pay an extra $12000 to replace the boiler and fix the bad plumbing job and the dangerous open hot water pipes David did. We tried contacting David a few times no response. We found him on google and Angie's list under license and insured plumbs but can't find anywhere even at the town if he is a licensed and insured plumber. Beware David may not be licensed doesn't even say he is on his website. Was helpful. Effort on his part was minimal, I did much of the work, yet paid top dollar for his "expertise".

On Oct 3rd 2022, I had conversation with David West from David the plumber to snake out my sewer line because water was backing up in our basement bathroom. We had explained to him that we had the some of sewer line replaced last summer but did not go all the way up to the black top, we told him there are roots and its about 65ft out from the house to the street. David said he would charge us $100.00 for the equipment and $150.00/per hour, He spent about 2 & half hrs in the opposite direction of where the issue was and snake out the sewer line but he did only up to 60 ft & came with wrong tool called retriever which doesn't really cut the roots & he didn't even come with the camera so could see where exactly roots were. So we had to call town of Poughkeepsie sewer department; they came & put the camera in & advised us that David the plumber should've gone out at least 100 ft to cut all that roots because water is backing up again. We spoke to David the plumber he said he could come back but he's going to charge us again even though we already paid him $475. Please see attached pictures of receipt, & photo of retriever that he used. Sewer superintendent from town of Poughkeepsie even told him to come back & do the job properly for free but he was very rude on the phone & wants to charge us again for the same job. We are dissatisfied with this service because his intension was to come back and charge us for the same job again We need our money back. Please help us to resolve this issue asap because it involves water backing up from sewer line. In Summary: 1. Came with retriever and not the cutter to sneak out 2. made his own decision to use retriever and not cutter to do the job 3. as per Town superintendent he cut only a quarter size from the root ball and we can have complete blockage again anytime 3. The town superintendent said since there is clean out outside of the house this job would only take about 1 hour since most of the sewer line was already new. read more
