So hard to get a hold of, answers rudely when he answers. Got a quote on an item, called to see if it was ready and was basically spoken to like I wasn't going to pay him! "Only take cash don't try to pay with a credit card". I had only asked for the charge??? And he had quoted one price and when picking up he said was $15.00 higher!!!! I asked why and he lied and said that was the price quoted??? It wasn't worth arguing over 15.00 but I won't be back. It's one thing if the guy was nice, sweet, possibly explained the 15.00 extra (it was tougher than expected possibly)?? but no explanation was given and he was so abrupt and rude. It's too bad because I have used him in the past and his work was good. Possibly time for him to give it up. I want to reiterate that the owner was the one who was Rude. My 2016 subaru outback had several holes on the seats and he put a really nice foam and vinyl back in place of the damaged area! Superb job and a super deal for the work! I dropped my car off at 10 and he was done by 4. I went to several shops around town getting quotes that were so expensive! Trust me this guy is the best in SCV period! read more

This is a small mom and pop type shop. The owner, David, is an honorable and honest man; that is evident from the very start. I took off my chair cushions and drove them down there on a referral from my shoe repair guy down the street from him. White clothing dining cushions with 2 sons, to daughter-in-laws, and an entire zoo worth of animals was just not working! I went with a leather-look (vinyl) material but there are all sorts of choices. Perhaps the best part is that his prices are very very fair. I had some seat cushions re-upholstered many years ago (at least 15 years ago) in the valley by a friend of a friend (it was supposed to be the friends and family price) and here David's price was only $5 more per cushion than what I paid back then. Now... these chair cushions also had piping at the bottom and I am sure that is worth $5 per cushion alone. Now... with such great prices was the work up to par? That would be the natural concern I might have... HECK YA! Flawless work! They look so amazing. I couldn't be more pleased! The only thing some might have an issue with - CASH ONLY! Maybe on bigger jobs he takes checks or something but he doesn't have the ability for credit/debit cards to the best of my knowledge. He will also come to you, give estimates, and pick up larger furniture but I had no issue with pulling them off myself. read more

I would highly recommend David Upholstery!! I had 8 chair seats re-done and they look brand new!!! The price was reasonable too compared to every other place I called! They came to my home and picked up the chairs and then delivered them back. So convenient and super fast! They also made an old ottoman look good as new! I had 2 small children's chairs and two vintage chrome dinette chairs to be recovered. They did a great job of recovering the chairs and also redid the padding so they are so comfy now. I will not hesitate to go back here for any upholstery job. Price was great, but as the first reviewer stated, it needed to be cash. read more

I just got the sofa chair I had reupholstered and it's perfect. I went to them based on the given ratings from others and I'm very glad I did. They truly do outstanding work. They used the original padding since it was still in good condition, instead of just changing it and charging me for it. I loved the special time that was taken at the initial meeting, for me this is was important. The fee was quite reasonable for the top notch quality work that was done on my sofa chair. I am very surprised to see all these positive reviews. Actually, that was the reason I went to this place, however I did not have a positive experience. My brother has an outdoor double chaise lounge where my dog likes to sleep but unfortunately ripped it all up. I took the whole cushion down to get an estimate (Not an easy thing since it's large and bulky) Sam, a very nice guy who works there, took measurements and pictures. He said he would show this to his boss and his boss would get back to me with an estimate. I received a voice mail later that day from Oliver saying they would need 4 yards of material, so they can do the job for $250 including labor. So, I said sure! Brought this bulky cushion back down to the place to pick out the color of fabric. Oliver takes a look at it and says the price is $350. Why did it go up? He said because he didn't know there are two pillows attached to the top so it will take an extra day of labor to take them off then re-attach them. Ok, fine....I pick out the color of the fabric, he starts to write up the invoice and now for the final price he writes $450! Wait, what?? He gives me some excuse about the fabric, even though the fabric we picked was actually cheaper than the one we were originally going to go with. So when I told him how did it go from $250 to $450, he said it was never $250, so I played him the voicemail he left me and he just did his best to give excuses. (None that made any sense) It was my mother and I that went and at this point I just looked at her and said, forget it, we'll go somewhere else. I don't appreciate trying to get swindled. I wonder if he would've tried this if I had brought a guy along instead of my mother? Very bad customer service. read more
