I very much appreciate Dr. Kim's detailed dental check since my teeth have been sensitive on one side. Previously, Dr. Kwon suggested that I would need a root canal and crown sooner or later, so I was so glad to know that I didn't need to have any special treatment done this time and that I just needed to brush lighter and with a softer brush. Dr. Kim is also very caring and observant of issues and needs I may have. The dental hygienist Esther also did a great job cleaning my teeth. She has been cleaning my teeth for a couple years now. She friendly, gentle, and patient. The receptionist was friendly as well. She booked my next biannual cleaning rig HR when I checked in. They can be hard to book sometimes, so booking in advance helps a lot. Got a goodie bag with a toothbrush and toothpaste after my cleaning. Glad they had toothpaste for sensitive teeth available.

I used to see Dr. Castellanos when I was a kid with my mom, roughly between the ages of…read more12-15(2004-2007). Now as an adult I've realized how horrendous of a doctor he was. Our family eventually stopped seeing him after 3 years of being under his care. We went to him because it was hard to find doctors who spoke Spanish in our area at the time. I'll start with the worst. My mom used to be really concerned for her health. Over time we realized her concerns were signs of what she's now developed, diverticulitis and other digestive issues. She often came in with pain and explained her concerns. Dr. Castellanos would tell my mom that she was fine and to take ibuprofen. Any time she came in it was the same thing even though her symptoms progressed - continue to take ibuprofen. Eventually she told my mom she was too worried and was a bother. We finally stopped going to see him when she used the restroom and found blood in her stool. She developed ulcers in her throat and stomach that were very painful when eating. After we stopped going to see him we found out all of her symptoms were the beginning of diverticulitis. In 2009 she ended up going to the ER because she was heavily bleeding when she used the bathroom. A diverticula had burst open and it was discovered she has 3 total that had developed. She was taken to emergency surgery. She's suffered through diverticulitis ever since with multiple ER visits. Dr. Castellanos was negligent as a doctor when presented with symptoms. He could have referred her to a gastroenterologist but never did. We had HMO at the time and eventually switched to PPO but it was after dealing with him. For my own case, I developed gastro issues around 12 and realized I had sensitivity to certain foods that lead to a lot of gas and odd noises in my intestines. I felt shy about it as a kid but was worried because I didn't want to sit in class having those noises come from my intestines because well... it was awkward. My side of the classroom could hear my gas issues and I didn't understand what was causing it. When I told him he blew me off and told me to eat more fiber. I didn't bother more about it or ask because I was too ashamed to ask more. Years later I realized I had food sensitivities and that I need to be careful to avoid dairy. All of this to say - I would absolutely NEVER recommend anyone to see Dr Castallanos. My mom could have sued him for negligence but decided not to. Seeing him still in practice now and talking to family about health made me 20 years later have to go back to write this.

I received a call from the front desk today 4/8/2026 after I left my office visit regarding an additional charge for my consult I had paid $120 because I chose to visit their office while my new insurance kicks in, and the way it was handled was completely unprofessional. Instead of clearly explaining the reason for the extra $80 cost, the staff member came across as demanding and dismissive--as if I was supposed to already know their internal policies. At no point during my visit was I informed that discussing my symptoms could turn the appointment into a higher-cost consult. What made matters worse was the tone of the conversation. It felt like I was being blamed for the appointment running longer, which is unfair. Patients rely on medical staff to guide the visit appropriately--it's not our responsibility to manage time or determine billing classifications. There also seems to be a lack of internal communication and organization. If expectations, pricing, and visit structure were clearly communicated upfront, situations like this could easily be avoided. I asked to speak to the office manager because, yes, I had every right to be upset. Instead of taking accountability , apologizing, I was met with defensiveness--and then banned. Banned for speaking up after being treated poorly, advocating for myself. That tells you everything you need to know about how this office handles concerns. There is a serious lack of communication, organization, and basic respect here. If expectations and pricing were explained upfront like they should be, none of this would have happened.

I'd like to share my recent experience in the hope that it helps improve patient care…read more While most of the staff have been kind and professional, my interaction with one receptionist, VERONICA, was very disappointing. During first visit, my daughter and I waited more than two hours for my initial assessment. After the appointment, I was given paperwork that should have been completed beforehand, causing even more unnecessary delay. At my third visit today, I called ahead to ask whether I could still be seen if I was about 10 minutes late. Unfortunately, I arrived approximately 13 minutes late because it took much longer than expected to find parking. I respectfully asked whether there was any way I could still be seen, especially considering the unusually long wait I experienced during my first visit. However, I was immediately told "no." Only after I repeatedly asked for help was I offered an appointment three hours later. Veronica was rude, dismissive, and seemed to have complete control over patients' time without making any effort to help. I then spoke with another front desk, who was able to offer me an appointment from same system with 1.5 hours wait. This showed that there were options available. I understand that the clinic has a policy of canceling appointments if a patient is more than 10 minutes late, and I respect the need for policies. However, I felt there was very little effort to assist me or explore any possible solutions. A little kindness, flexibility, and willingness to help would have made a significant difference. Instead, I was met with repeated, blunt refusals that left me feeling dismissed rather than cared for. I was so upset by the experience that I asked to cancel my next five appointments. While I was still speaking, Veronica canceled them immediately without showing any concern. The receptionist's attitude caused me stress and frustration. After I left, I happened to look through the window and saw her suddenly laughing, which I found extremely unprofessional given how upset I had just been. Thankfully, another staff member was able to accommodate me much sooner. I don't understand why Veronica was given the authority to treat patients this way. She never attempted to help, show empathy, or offer any reasonable solution. I hope this feedback encourages a review of how patients are treated at the front desk, because every patient deserves to be treated with respect, kindness, and compassion.

Had she understood what her computer read, she would see I have met my individual deductible. She wanted me to pay what left of the family deductible. So she told me I need to pay $140 plus whatever services are rendered. That was upfront! I hadn't even seen the doctor yet. I knew I I wasn't responsible to pay for the office visit in full. As soon as I got in the car I called Blue Cross who told me that I was right. They put me on hold and called her and explained to her how it worked and that she should not have asked up front and taught her what she should have done. I did not return as I did not trust this office anymore. So please make sure you speak to your insurance company first and ask reception at the office to check:understand your insurance benefits BEFORE you drive all the way down there.

I was in LA (from GA) seeing my pain management specialist. While I was here, I felt my lower molar tooth break off (turned out to be a deep amalgam feeling falling out). So I contacted Dr Afarlo's office and he agreed to see me within 24 hrs which was incredible by itself and shows Dr Afarlo's level of commitment to his patients. I went to see him the next day and he fixed my tooth after removing the amalgam and capping it with a temporary crown. The next day he sent me a text checking to make sure I didn't have any followup complications with the tooth. I suffer from a severe neuropathic pain condition and Dr Afarlo was the nicest dentist I could have ever imagined to deal with this broken tooth in this situation. He continued to check on me after the procedure since he knew I was in a lot of pain from my CPS. I highly recommend that anyone who experiences dental problems of any kind (emergencies) or needs a dentist for routine maintenance (scheduled cleanings), strongly consider calling DR AFARLO for any future dental work. He is a VERY CARING EMPATHETIC DENTIST who I completely respect. My tooth looks great too! I suffer a lot going to dentists but he made sure that I could get as comfortable as possible during the procedure. read more

Dr Alfaro's and Dr. Leyva's Dental Practice maintains the highest quality patient customer service I have ever experienced. From the front office staff to the hygienists, assistants, and specialists, they provide exceptional care being considerate of the patient's time and comfort levels. I called for an unscheduled office visit for a chipped tooth and left a message. I got a call the next morning and even though Dr Leyva's schedule was full, he was able to accommodate me to come in as soon as possible to repair my tooth. I have been a patient of Dr. Alfaro's for over twenty years, he and his office staff are THE BEST YOU ARE GOING TO GET! I am speaking from experience, from regular cleanings to root canal's. Unfortunately from an accident as a child and fillings that needed redoing, I have had to have plenty of dental work over the years to qualify my review. When your dentist can give you your Novocain shots, including the one in your palate, and you don't even feel it, it makes it a lot easier to sit in that dental chair. Plus keep you smiling during it all, I would have to say it makes going almost fun. Who am I kidding, I always have fun when I visit this office, really I do! I am such a chicken when it comes to the dentist and I've always had bad luck with the dentist that I would go to. That was not the experience I had with my visit with Dr Alfaro, he made me feel relaxed right away. Dr Alfaro made sure I understood what was occurring with my teeth and provided options for my best interest. I would definitely come back to him for my future appointments. With gentle and gifted hands, Dr. Leyva's dental work on me has, thus far, been the best work I've had performed on me...ever! His skills match no other dentist I've been to and I'm 37 years old. This was only my third visit to Dr. Leyva's office. The care I have received, courtesy of himself, his reception staff, the assistant's, and his office's hygienists (most recently Barbara) have proven very much worthy of my appreciation. I have no hesitation, at all, in looking towards my next visit and do so with anticipation of the exceptional care and overall kindness that has been extended thus far. read more

DR. Rudy Leyva is the best dentist I have ever had the experience of seeing. I am in my 50's and have had many dental issues and seen a number of dentist. Dr. Leyva is extremely knowledgeable, cares for his patients and a true specialist in his field. The hygienist, support and office staff are extremely professional, courteous and dedicated. Very caring staff. I have been with this practice since it's inception and I wouldn't go ANYWHERE else! Everyone including the Drs. treat their patients like family, and yes I grew up in this practice with the original Dentist, Dr. Edgar J. FIEDLER. 54 yrs is a long time, so yes they are my FAMILY. My experience in this dental office has always been amazing! From the moment that I step into the office, which is filled with friendly staff members that are always attentive to your needs, to receiving the best dental care possible. Dr. Alfaro has been my family's dentist since I was a kid, so more than 20 years. My whole family goes here still my mom, dad, and grandparents. He is an amazing dentist, very personable and explains everything that's going to happen to you. Staff are very friendly and helpful as well. Great place to go!! It's 45 minutes from my house but well worth the drive :) read more

My husband has our insurance plan all taken care of so I know I have insurance and he called to make an appointment for me and let the woman know our insurance policy number the name of the insurer and that we were covered also asked her to verify the insurance before I drove down there which she said she did. Turns out She did not verify my insurance so when I got there, she was extremely rude to me. Made me sit down to fill and in front of everybody not even privately told me I need your Social Security number. She wrote it on a piece of scratch paper so I immediately felt weird by writing down my whole number. I didn't understand why she needed it, especially when I handed her my medical card from Mutual of Omaha., she told me Mutual of Omaha does not do dental insurance. Yes they do. She just didn't want to check.. She then proceeds to call the insurer I used to have only to find out that I was not covered through them, which is what I told her that I now had Mutual of Omaha dental again she told me they don't have dental insurance again. I told her they do and handed her my card at this point. I was very upset because all of this should've been verified before I even arrived.. I did not end up getting seen by the doctor and I have chosen to move to another dental place in Rancho Cucamonga instead, the front desk woman is extremely unprofessional does not know how to do her job and should not be asking people to write their Social Security numbers on random sheets of paper that are not even official. I would never come here again. She also asked my husband to take her phone number and said she had a special job for him, I was so shocked by this , she is sketchy AF!!!

She then called me to get me to pay extra on top of what insurance paid because "it belongs to us." Customers beware- check your paperwork and agreements.

She answered all my questions. Helped me navigate my son's busy schedule and the dentist available times. She was so patient. She told me Vickie would be calling to help me verify the insurance. Ms. Vickie...is the GOAT. She is so kind!! When you meet her, you feel like she's some how apart of your family?? Or like, a friend you've known a really long time. She so just...kind. Went over every detail of the bill. Made sure I fully understood and agreed with next steps. I appreciated that once in office both Dominique and Ms Vickie spoke directly to my children. Acknowledged them as the patients and as people. The office is very clean. What I appreciated THE MOST, and I told them, was their scheduling was superb. We walked in for a 1 oclock appointment, and was seen at 1 oclock. We didn't sit in the lobby waiting. There was no one in there until we left. We've been there 4 times now (kids needed some cavities filled and we spread it out for time) and each time, no one is coming until we're walking out. They have it DOWN. I appreciate people that respect my time. I hate waiting 30 min to an hour or hour. Arriving on time to sit. The technology in office was very good. The doctor was excellent. Explained everything. Give recommendations. Got the work done. I highly recommend it. And once you meet the front office, you'll know they definitely reflect the back office and the doctor. It's great here.

Vickie is super sweet and goes on and beyond to make sure everything is good with your insurance before your visit. Valerie and Dominique were also super sweet to me during my visits, they were helpful in calming my anxiety prior to treatment. Where do I even start?? I'm an extremely anxious person on a regular day and the dentist is the…read morescariest place I can imagine. But this dental office completely changed my opinion! From the very beginning when I first called the office they were very friendly and listened to everything I had to say. I needed extensive work on my teeth including multiple root canals, fillings and crowns but they didn't make me feel bad or judged at all. They took care of me throughout the initial exam and were able to start treatment right away. Doctor Bishoy was amazing and understanding of my situation and helped me feel calm during the treatment. Of course since I had so much work to be done it would end up being a bit uncomfortable and at times a bit painful but doctor checked in with me throughout each procedure and ensured that I was feeling as comfortable as I could be. I also wanted to give a huge thank you to both Aleska and Hendricks who were super friendly with me and made me feel at home right away. They continued to check in with me and made me feel taken care of even though I just wanted to make my escape. With the softest hands, Aleska treated me with care and generosity I had never experienced at any other medical facility. In other words "Quantity over Quality " Which I hated , bc I prefer quality over quantity . Also get prepared they will go into the room while ur on the chair and ask u about your upcoming bill which is a pressure tactic , why in the heck should anyone sell / pressure u while your on the dental chair ? Idk i do not like that, that was very uncomfortable, I've never had that. And they also tried to tally a regular cleaning charge , I have good insurance that I'm fully covered twice a year and I was so confused when they tried to say 80 dollars for a reg clean, that's always always been covered , which I questioned I've never been charged cleaning bc my insurance covers it , they re checked and said oh 0 dollars . Which I thought was shady work . So many ppl and long wait , for everything , meaning xam wait long, cleaning wait long, dental work another increment of waiting, everything was choppy . But the main reason I wouldn't go back is BC they charged to tally a cleaning fee when my insurance covers that, secondly their service of quanitity over quality . They wana make as much money from as many ppl over quality of service and having great service .
