Today the Yelp gods said I may interested in this business. How ironic since I just saw this guy last Tuesday and boy do I regret such a waste of time. I saw Dr. Martin for a total of 3 minutes. He walked with little eye contact and said "hello what can I can help you with." I'll admit this is the coldest interaction I've ever received from a healthcare professional. Ok, I rolled with it and proceeded to explain my issue as if it was an elevator pitch that I only had seconds to complete. I complained that have a reoccurring sinus issue and that I need further testing to determine she cause. He asked me what type of testing I was looking for? I would assume as a ENT with a fancy degree (a Bachelor of Arts in fact ) he would be able to guide me in the right direction. He offered to send me to an allergist. If that's the best he can do? Ok, sure. I'll go to the allergist. Ultimately his perspective was if he's unable to perform surgery on me, then he wasn't interested in helping me get to the root cause. I guess I don't know what the heck an ent does, because I thought they helped patients beyond just surgery. When did helping patients become such a burden for healthcare professionals? Why do we have to continue to pay them to treat symptoms and not find the cure? This lack of patient care should shame them... Dr. Martin should be ashamed. read more

Dr. Martin was friendly and efficient with getting my ears cleared! I'm a swimmer and use swimming ear plugs, using them often eventually causes blockages and some swimmers ear if I don't use solution every time (lazy). Dr. Martin was able to check my ears and vacuum the blockage out within 10 minutes. Front desk was nice as well but they're very tech friendly sending by text/email check in forms so you don't need to fill them out in office. Handy! Parking is paid, but there's PLENTY of free street parking as the medical building is located in a public parking friendly neighborhood since it's adjacent to the highway. Otherwise, parking is about $2.50/hour or so (possible /20minutes). read more

Everything about my appointment didn't feel right. From the Waiting Room to leaving, I can't place my finger on it but this review is supposed to be on Dr. Martin only so here it is. I was very unimpressed with Dr. Martin. I came in with a situation I had never experienced before with my nose and after telling my story I felt like he already knew what was wrong, what to do going forward and my prescriptions. All within less than a minute. He did do an internal exam, but I felt he already made up his mind what he was going to prescribe. He was in a hurry. When I arrived at the Exam Room I noticed a Doctor talking to what I believed to be an office worker but it did not seem to be a serious discussion. This was right outside the door of the Exam Room. I waited maybe 4 minutes and when the doctor came in, that's when I realized that doctor was Dr. Martin. Bottom line is, after a week of the meds that Dr. Martin prescribed, my issue did not go away. I was not going to call him back and decided my situation wasn't bad enough compared to dealing with Dr. Martin again. Main observations: Seemed to be in a hurry to go somewhere Didn't listen. After reading the One Star Rating on Yelp for Dr. Martin, I am so happy I didn't continue seeing him. Dr. David Martin is an excellent, caring and meticulous physician. The office staff is a nice, friendly and efficient group of people. I had an earache before the weekend and they were able to make time and get me on short notice. Not only did they say they would try and accommodate me, they called me and told me to come in and advised me to be aware that there was construction in the area that might make it is a little difficult to navigate the street. Finally, a few months later after the thyroid biopsy we were about to see him to discuss further plans of care, then we found out in the office that the doctor cancelled the appointment a day before, without notifying us. He was there in the office but let his MA to reschedule our appointment for another day ( a month later). My friend and I asked a favor at our work places to leave earlier to see him, but no consideration. David W. Martin prescribed a medication that I had already been prescribed by primary care physician for a period of 3 months. My primary care sent me to Dr David W. Martin because the treatment was not working and my condition was becoming more severe. David W. Martin then prescribed a throat lozenges and said if I was not better in 14 days to come in for a follow up. After 14 days my condition did not improve. I called to make a follow up appointment, speaking to a scheduler named Gerald. He informed me that Dr David W. Martin was refusing to give a follow up appointment. He wanted to prescribe more of the same medication I was already taking. He had ZERO interest in doing a thorough reexamination to determine why the medication isn't working and/or perform bloodwork to determine what is causing the infection to worsen nor was test done to determine whether or not it is what he thinks it is. I requested to speak with the office manager and was told no one was available to speak to me. I have NEVER been so completely misdiagnosed and disregarded. He does not CARE if I get better or not. That lack of empathy and disrespect is beyond disheartening. As a black female I feel this issue is less about treating my severe medical condition and more about getting kick backs by pharmaceutical companies for prescribing pills without verifying what my needs are specifically. A terrific experience with Dr. Martin. I underwent Clarifix. The doctor explained everything very clearly and went into detail when i asked for more detail. He was careful and thoughtful. Apparently vaso motor rhinitis can be difficult to deal with, but Martin was spot on with the Clarifix procedure. I saw Dr. Martin because my doctor, his then partner, was not able to see me as quickly. Since then they have disolved their partnership. Now Dr. Martin will not release me as his patient and I can no longer see my actual ENT doctor. As Dr. Martin did not help me before I have no interest in seeing him and wish to see my original doctor. I came too see Dr.Martin because my dentist could not perform sinus lift due to ct scan showing left sinus filled up. I did not have any symptoms of sinusitis, but Dr.Martin told me that I had chronic sinusitis and that I need surgery to clear left sinus. I agreed to do it because I needed that sinus cleared to proceed with dental implants. I had surgery in December, Dr.Martin said it was successful, no follow up ct scan needed. I went back to the dentist, did ct scan and the result was the same as before surgery: my left sinus was full as if there was no surgery performed. I came back to see Dr.Martin and he said there is nothing he can do. I wasted my time and money. read more

Though, generally, Dr. Martin is a nice person, but he messed up with my nose plastic surgery. I had a planned deviated septoplasty fully covered by my insurance. Since I had a cosmetic nose imperfection/asymmetry, I asked if he can correct the shape of my nose and make it straight and good looking during the same surgery. He told that would cost an additional $2000 plus to what is covered by my insurance that I paid for it with my credit card. After 9 months the shape of my nose is not as it supposed to be. I would say, I get nervous and irritated every time I look at it. During previous follow-up checkups, he told that it will set into its correct and final shape within 6-12 months. During the last visit when I showed that my nose is not as straight and symmetric as it supposed to be after the surgery, and it had a visible bump on one side that made is asymmetric, he started explaining about cartilage details and offered another paid corrective plastic surgery. Also, for some reason, he was happy with his nose job that was not definitely the case for me. Oh no, sorry - I am done. My nose is not an experimental field. Observation: the current nose look does not much differ from the pre-surgery look, plus it got an extra assymetry. Wasted money, nerves, and time. I was referred to Dr. Martin for my 8 year old daughter. First, he rushed me through my reason in being at his office. He determined she was not a good candidate based on facts and not my specific situation. He then proceeded to state all of the complications of having a Tonsillectomy such as "excessive bleeding" IN FRONT of my daughter which made her cry. Then took her into a room which instead of doing a ear lavage, used scraping tools to clean her ears. This was not the reason we came to see him and he traumatized my daughter. All in all. THE WORST EXPERIENCE especially as a parent. I do not recommend this doctor if you are looking for someone to actually care about your child's specific situation. Not to mention the parking is awful. My 2 year old son suffered from chronic ear infections and severe sleep apnea. It was awful he would snore then choke with every inhalation all night long no matter what position we put him in. Our pediatrician recommended that his adenoids be removed. We got a referral and went to Dr Martin at ENT Group of Los Angeles last July 2019. My husband took our son to see Dr. Martin who took a look inside my son's mouth and said that his adenoids were not enlarged and sent them home. I was confused, no follow up? No further investigation? So then what was causing the problem?? I changed my insurance because I needed my son to start sleeping instead of choking all night long. We went to Dr Ali Strocker, who was referred to us by our pediatrician as one of the best pediatric ENTs in the Valley. She told me that without an x-ray or inserting a camera down my son's nose she would not be able to tell me whether the adenoids were enlarged. My immediate reaction was, then what did Dr Martin even think he was doing diagnosing his adenoids as healthy?!? We got the x-ray. My little boy needed his adenoids and tonsils removed as well as tubes in his ears. We had the surgery in February 2020, a couple weeks ago, and the improvements are immeasurable - he is a new child. He sleeps like an angel, he's happy, his appetite is improved, his verbal communication is through the roof, and he is much more willing to follow direction...it's amazing what good sleep and hearing can do. I am just really grateful that Dr Martin chose to not help my family because I would not have wanted him going near my son with a scalpel. If Dr Martin's office wants to contact me please only do so if you are offering to refund any portion of the hundreds of dollars my family paid you for this appointment. read more

Dr. Martin to the rescue! Wow - I cannot speak highly enough about my recent experience with him. I was visiting Los Angeles recently and had a (minor) nasal issue. I did a quick search on Yelp and sure enough found this gem! From the moment I got there, everything was spectacular. The waiting rooms were as clean as could be, several COVID safety protocols were enforced and the entire process was so quick/seamless. I was referred to see Dr. David Martin from my Medical Group about 8 months ago, for stridor and trouble breathing. I have a history of this problem, and have had surgery on my throat many years ago; but the problem has come back. This was a urgent visit that my medical group had set up for me. Well Dr. Martin was very rushed, and did a larngoscopy, to look down my throat in the office; and told me he didn't see anything wrong. I felt very rushed and the Dr. didn't explain anything to me, just hurry, hurry, and get me out the door. Well since then, my symptoms had continued, and I recently had a ct. scan of my neck from another ENT; and sub-glottic stenosis, a narrowing in my airway was found, along with some thyroid nodules. I will now be going to USC for future surgery on this problem. So next time Dr. Martin, I hope you take more time with your patient's and not miss important diagnosis, like you did with me. read more

Let me tell you my experience with dr. David Martin. Yes he is a nice person and probably cares about patients but unfortunately that's not enough to be a doctor and do a surgery. He supposed to do simple sinus surgery but it turned to ruin my life until these days. I kept telling him that I am not feeling well after his surgery but he was telling me everything is ok. After 2 months of suffering I went for a second opinion and I was told that because my surgery wasn't done properly I got inflammation. Plus my septum wasn't fixes as he promised me. So I went back with an MRI in my hands and I asked him how he can explain this. He said "sorry things happen". So I had to go to another surgery to fix whatever he had done, which cause me health, money, time. DO NOT risk your health, just do a little more research before choosing ENT. read more

I went to see Dr. Martin because I experienced sudden hearing loss. He was professional, friendly, caring and made me feel very comfortable. The office staff was also superb. He was able to diagnose the problem, sent me to the audiologist, followed my progress with another appointment, and even called me a few weeks after my last appointment to see how I was doing. Unfortunately I have to agree with past bad reviewers. Yes I did read the bad reviews before going into surgery with Dr. Martin to straighten my nose and I still took my chances. He also charged an additional $1,500 for nose bone straightening which is not covered by plan. ( Like a previous reviewer says she paid additional $2,000) My nose is still curved the exact same way! Like another reviewer said one side is sticking out more than the other. I kid you not its like he took a drill and tried to straighten the bones by shaving from the sides instead of breaking and re adjusting the bones to make them straight like he said he would. I can also feel an indentation like box like from a straight drill. I requested my money back but he said he did do the surgery so... end of conversation, that was it for now. I also requested to start antibiotics prior to surgery to prevent an infection he insisted it will not be needed. 12 days after my surgery Im starting to develop an infection. Again, he said he doubts it was an infection. I guess maybe he just prefers to wait for it to get infected instead of preventing. I didn't want to doubt him but I knew I should've been more persistent about antibiotics. Another note, I also was a little worried and concerned I went into surgery without him taking pictures of my nose and really looking at it and studying what he will need to fix on my nose. I wanted to trust him thinking he knows. Just was not worth all the pain I went through after surgery for my nose to be the same. I also couldn't breathe on the right side now I have not been able to breathe on the left side. I should've just left my nose alone and saved me that lost time and money. My nose is not going to magically straighten itself in 6-12 months that's a fact lol He just wants to drag it to see if you forget about it and go away. No sir, it's my nose and my money. At least I have to say he didn't leave my nose worst he left it the same just took my money. He also suggested going back in while Im awake and shave a little more to straighten it. I will be updating this review. I prefer to have my money back, my nose is the same and Im afraid he really ends up ruining it. He also said it's silly of me to think its going to look straight right now because he says the bone is still swollen from surgery. Yeah ok lol .
