I emailed and called Barbara, she did not reply/return calls. I had to physically go to the office to get a response, which was her sitting behind a desk in a separate room and attempting to yell to me she did the taxes right, the IRS must be wrong. She said the First Time Homebuyer Credit from 2008 was waived by the government and I don't need to pay it at all - WRONG! I have finally gotten through to the IRS by phone now on June 4 and have confirmed Barbara Glanz did my taxes incorrectly. Why did I pay $225 to have my taxes done by a professional, if she does not know the correct tax laws? If it weren't for my own research after the letter arrived, I'd be doing something illegal thanks to Barbara Glanz. She refuses to refund the money we paid her and refuses to research the laws she claims to know. This should stand as a huge warning to anyone looking into a new tax accountant. Glanz & Associates is NOT the business for you if you want your taxes handled correctly. I am filing a BBB claim once a new IRS letter confirming the taxes were done wrong is sent to me shortly, so that I have paper evidence for the claim.

Was told what my return would be, got back less money. Asked my tax preparer if they follow the corporate statement of giving customers their fee back if they get less money back. Got no response. Called corporate 3 times now and still haven't gotten any money back. Spoke to the franchise owner that said I'd get a check in the mail, never did. The office offered me 1/2 off my tax preparation fee next year (I'd never use them again). I also got a lot of push back from the office staff saying it was a hard year, the office staff had a lot of personal and family issues going on, I understand, as it was a hard year for everyone. They have no idea what goes on in my personal life and to undervalue my questions and concerns just doesn't seem right to me. Overall, it wound up being a terrible experience and I have no plans to use this location or any other In the future.
