Pretty sure I experienced discrimination during my visit today. I forgot the name of the first associate who helped me, but she made me feel very pressured and unwelcomed. I came in dressed casually on my lunch break at work to exchange a Christmas gift. Their exchange policy is that you have to exchange your item for something equal to or greater than the price, no credit back. I asked the associate what items fit into the budget of my item and I just felt as if she didn't want to help me and was rushing me to pick something to exchange it for. I'm only giving this place 2 stars for the courtesy of the associate Paige, who ended up helping me and made me feel like they wanted my business. read more

I have been a long time fan of this beautiful jewelry. I've had my eye on this ring for about 3 years, which speaks volumes about the classic design of DY. If we were rating solely on the work of DY, easy 5 stars. Unfortunately, the store and their customer service do not earn the same. I had hit a milestone in my life and realized I should celebrate with the ring I have been wanting. The mall was pretty busy considering the holiday weekend. There was 1 sales associate at the time I first walked in and she was working with 2 customers and had some standing around waiting. I decided to come back an hour later. Upon my second arrival there were now 2 salespeople on the floor, both working with customers. I saw the ring in the case and stood off to the side waiting for my turn. Upon seeing me waiting, one of the well dressed security guards walked into the back and returned in a minute or so. A gal who was probably on her lunch break came out. She was nice enough, but didn't seem knowledgeable on the merchandise. I tried to ask some questions but the responses lacked luster. I was pleased they had my size, cut, and style in stock. The entire transaction took less than 5 minutes to clean, box, wrap, and make the sale. Not bad for a girl was in the back room eating her lunch. I had actually walked to Bloomingdales in between my first and 2nd visit to check out their selection. They didn't have nearly the inventory, but the customer service was amazing there. I would unlikely visit this location again. The security guards offered more customer service than the actual sales reps. Yikes. In the end, I am so happy with my purchase...just not the process of purchase. read more

Hello I recently went into your south coast plaza, costa mesa, CA store to purchase my wife earrings. It was a Valentine gift. I purchased the earrings from Paige, and come Valentines day, my wife told me she does not wear hoops. Oops, I thought, as she has diamond studs, but I knew I can come back and exchange the item. I came back a few weeks later, just this past weekend, and Paige was busy with another client. Another sales rep approached me (do not remember her name but she had short black hair), and tried to help but we just did not hit it off very well, and she could not figure out what I was looking for that I had thought of purchasing before. It was a 7mm bracelet with the black onyx but the price she was giving me was different. After going back and forth with her a few times, I just asked to refund my last purchase and I will come back a different time (as I had my toddler son with me and he was not feeling well), and I did not have the time to continue trying to explain to her what I was looking for. She made feel very rushed and as if I had no idea what I had seen just a few weeks before, and I did not like that type of energy when I am shopping in a very upscale store. It felt like trying to buy something from Macy's jewelry, and it should not feel that way. So, I was about to get the refund and leave, when Paige happen to be finished with her customer and from remembering rushed right over and knew exactly what I was talking about. She was extremely calm, collected, not rushing me at all, and even went on to explain some other options. She was so professional and easy to talk to that I actually ended up purchasing a higher priced bracelet which she took care of right away, sensing my toddler was not feeling well and we were trying to go as soon as possible. I am writing this email because of the difference in service I received from two people working at the same store, at the same time. To be very honest had I ran into the other person my first time around, I would have probably never purchased even the earrings, as I don't like the "Macy's" sales energy in a store like yours. I am not sure if the other woman judged me based on my clothing that day (as I dressed casually due to the weekend), and my age ( I am 38), but for some reason, I just did not feel the connection and excitement as I felt from Paige. I don't know what position Paige is in, as her card says "Brand Ambassador", but I have taken time out of my busy business schedule to write this long email because she made my experience so memorable that I will be coming back more and more as my wife loves elegant upscale jewelry. You have a great asset working for the company and she would make a great manager or even sales trainer for other employees in the store. She deserves a lot of credit for not being judgemental, being patient and professional, and taking her time while understanding that I was short on time as well. I am the top producer in a financial company of over 200 employees, for over 10 years, and I know talent when I see it, and know how important good talented salespeople are for a company to do well. 50% is the quality and name brand of the items itself, but the other 50% is the experience, and for my wife and I experience is everything, no matter the product. This is by far one of my favorite stores to get jewelry. I know you can go other places to get some of the jewelry for a lot cheaper, but the quality and attention to detail won't be there. I personally like a lot of the necklaces, rings and bracelets. To me this is definitely worth a visit every time they get new inventory. I recommend going online first to see products that you like and then go to the store and see if they carry it. This place gets five stars from me! read more

We had walked by DY Beverly Hills many times but had never ventured into the store. It was during COVID and we were fed up with the horrible attitude and service across the street at Cartier, we had to wait to get into DY Beverly Hills due to COVID and the limitation on the number of customers allowed in the store but it was so worth it, we met a young sales representative named Rhetta and she was just the best. We ended up buying a couple of pieces that very day and kept coming back, not just because we love DY jewelry but also because of the incredible customer service we always received from Rhetta. Rhetta is amazing, she will find the best pieces for you, she makes shopping for jewelry so much fun. I came here for my first David Yurman ring instead of using my employee discount at a department store I work at because I wanted the 'experience'. Ohhhhhh it was totally worth it! Paige helped me pick out a ring within my budget and showed me a few other rings after for ideas for next time . Walked in looking for jewelry with my wife and kid and the sales associate seemed to be bothered I was in the store. I couldn't believe the lack for service and their annoyance at our presence. But it's okay we went to a different store which is right around the corner from them, and I'm sure you all know what other jewelry store it is, and they were more than willing to be helpful and be kind and help us with what we needed. I received better customer service here than at any other jewelry store at south coast. I bought a ring several months ago and I love the ring (which I knew I would) but the customer service is what really stood out to me. The woman was very helpful and patient as I looked and the ring in almost every color and style before going back to the first one I looked at of course. Not only did she do all of this with a smile on her face but she also sent me a thank you not a few weeks later. The letter was hand written and personalized. Oh do I love the holidays! The way high end stores treat potential customers is always fun and appreciated. Walked in on Black Friday and we were offered truffles or hot chocolate as we browsed. Oh my the pieces here are stunning, Unique yet very creatively designed and beautiful. I am fond of silver and gold meshed together so I always have been a fan of David Yurman. I couldn't wait to go to David Yurman in SCP when the new perfume was announced. I knew that I would love the fragrance as much as I love the jewelry so I went straight to the counter and tried the sample on display and bought the perfume. It is a must ... and ... it comes with a darling black silk rope bracelet wrapped around the neck of the bottle with a DY charm. You spray the rope bracelet with the perfume and wear it. It's a great idea! Recently, I received a complimentary jar of the new lotion in the mail. Wow! It smells great! read more

Wow, What an experience! I walked in David Yurman at South coast Plaza, at first there was a lot of sales people standing around and no one approached me, they were probably thinking i wasn't gonna buy anything. Then I met the nicest helpful salesman...he gave me his card his name was Jeffrey Seymour, he knew everything about his stones, he answered all my questions, let me try on whatever i wanted, even though he knew i wasn't going to buy anything at the time...he didn't hesitate. They reassured me that this is not the standard for their boutique. To further extend their apologies, they sent me a token of appreciation overnight, which was a very kind gesture. South Coast Plaza Remodeled Store! Store is twice as big and worth the remodel wait. I bought my wedding ring back in October and walked in wanting to get it polished up. A new rep: Aaron from Dallas helped us out. Very friendly, talkative and enjoying his afternoon. 100% the type of sales rep I like, talks a little about the product and talks the other 75% of the time about how/where we got married, the remodel of the store etc etc. They always offer you a bottle water when you walk into their store as well. Came here scoping out rings at south coast and after visiting Tiffany's and being disappointed with the selection and service, I was very happily surprised to be so welcomed at David Yurman. The jewelry is beyond beautiful and elegant. Our sales person was Ernesto and he was so helpful in showing options and gave information on all the designs. He wasn't a hard sell either and wrote down all the info to bring back once we thought about our purchase, but we ended up loving one of the designs and purchasing on the spot. Slight impulse buy but so worth it and will definitely be back to splurge again and will specifically ask for him. read more

I've always had a good experience here. The first time I came in a blond saleswoman (I feel bad I forgot her name) helped me and I walked out with my first DY piece, which was the hematite cable bangle that comes with a set of two (one is just a plain cable bangle). She also helped me the second time when I bought a citrine necklace as well. I've also bought from I think it's either the store manager or the assistant manager (she has black cropped hair) and was super friendly. But by far the most fun I've had purchasing here was with Rhetta. She specializes timepieces, but I've purchased a ring, earrings and bracelet from her. What initially had me coming back to her was that she first followed up my first purchase with a thank you card. Also,she's just very down to earth, answered all of my questions (even through email!), and hunted down items for me that weren't available in store. She's the best! read more

The sales associates are so friendly and helpful at David Yurman. A small diamond fell out of my pave ring that I wear daily. They are sending it in to be fixed free of charge. I was also able to exchange my ring when I first bought it for a smaller size even thought I purchased online. I have to agree with tony yayo over here cause that place is entertaining to say the least. Whats funny is I get a whole different vibe from there cause it doesnt seem like they know what they are doing. I was helped by a middle eastern guy who had to keep asking the white guy what the stones are, and any other question I may have had. I asked for a discount cause any right minded latino would not shop without asking and the guy went in the back to ask. I listened to the other sales people's discussions with customer's and their coming from outer space. Still asking the poor white guy questions that they should know. I go there alot to just look around and see the new pieces for my mom and sister, I try to go when its busy so I don't bother anyone but it doesnt work. I think the best reason to go is to watch the troll assistant manager micro manage the sales people. She gets very angry if a sales person isnt all over you, which seems strange in a high priced jewerly store. Being that I am latin she thinks I am her best friend everytime I tell her I am mexican, shes very entertaining. I have to say I Love DY jewelry and have several pieces however this DY location does not have the best customer service. I have recently moved to CA and have been to several DY locations and have now bought 3 pieces from DY. One from the DY in Las Vegas, one from the online store and one in St. Thomas (yes, St. Thomas does have a authentic DY counter). The first time I visited this location I was approached by a snooty sales person (a young girl) asking me if I needed any help. I told her that I would like to get my DY jewelry cleaned. She looked at me like I was crazy and then told me she would have to ask someone else that worked there. I didn't have all of my pieces with me at the time, I ended up showing her one of my rings that I was wearing. The other girl came over and said that don't send pieces off to DY in New York (like I was told before) that they could clean them in the store but it wouldn't be the same. She referred me to a jeweler somewhere in the mall. Both girls were rather rude and I caught them staring at me (looking at me up and down) while I was looking in one of the jewelry cases. I thought it was funny. I always wondered what their hourly wage was, working there, knowing that they probably couldn't even afford to buy any of the jewelery that they sell. I called the manager after I left. He seemed really nice on the phone. I told him that I would bring back all of my pieces for him to look at. I went back about 7 months after the first incident. The manager was not there that day. This time I was approached by a man who I don't think knew even what day it was! He was new, ok. But being new and not knowing ANYTHING....how did you even get the job! I told him what I wanted to do and that I had spoke with the manager not too long ago. Wanting to get all three pieces cleaned. Two Rings and one Bracelet. He was clueless and I ended up waiting for another lady, who was in the middle of a sale. He interrupted them, she looked at my pieces (two of which I hardly ever wear) and said well we can send these off to New York it will cost you $40.00 per piece. I must have said something like "this one is older but I never wear it" and she said..."I know, I didn't want to say anything, but it's old, it's like Vintage." Myself and my friend just stood there in shock! So rude for one thing but I must say the True definition of Vintage clothing, jewelery etc is that the items have to be close to 100 years old, so I am so sorry but these pieces are not, of course! I have three expensive pieces that this lady probably couldn't afford and here she is making fun of my jewelry pieces from a David Yurman Collection! Unbelievable!! I am very particular with everything that I own and an Interior Designer/ Artist, very particular about the way I live and what I have, my pieces were practically brand new to begin with, I certainly didn't NEED them cleaned. I think that this store needs to have a huge wake up call. I am almost positive that they aren't selling nearly what they should be due to the attitudes and horrible customer service of the sales people. I will be sending all three of my pieces to NY myself to get cleaned and will buy online again or in the Caribbean. I had called this location and ordered a ring that my husband liked. This was going to be his birthday present, and I was so pleased that I would be able to present it to him in time. I went in Thursday night to pick it up. There was not a single customer in the store when I walked in, but there were 3 sales associates (2 women, 1 man). An older women with dark hair helped me. I told her I had a pick up, so she found the ring and brought it out. It was dirty and all scratched up. I don't know if it was a return or a floor model, but there were some pretty noticeable scratches. The sales associate offered to "clean" it, and came back with an absolutely filthy cleaning cloth. She "cleaned" it, but the scratches were definitely in the ring itself (you could feel them). I pointed this out to the sales associate, and she kept deflecting. I would talk about the scratch, and she would talk about something else on the ring. I worked in sales for quite some time, so I knew exactly what she was doing. She wanted me to walk out with that filthy scratched up ring. I was so disappointed with the entire experience that I just returned it. Maybe she would have been a better sales associate if it was her sale, but overall I don't think she realizes what it means to work sales. She deflected and kept passing blame. I don't care where the ring came from, I care where it's going (to my husband). If she had been honest with me and stated something like "Hey, I know we only have a 14 day return policy and your not happy with this one, but how about you take this one to present to your husband and I'll find a better one to bring in to the store. Once I find one I'll call you and we can exchange them." I would have probably continued to purchase from David Yurman, and bought the next piece from her. Now, however, I don't think I'll ever purchase from this company (or at least this location). I sincerely hope she was not the manager. If so, this location is doomed. Rude. I was shopping with my girlfriends and I really wanted to buy the 11MM GARNET ALBION RING. We walked in and were not greeted. I walked to the back of the store and to the front and passed 3 sales people, 1 man 2 women & 0 customers besides me & 2 girlfriends. Super bummed because we were clearly being ignored, I walked back again we were saying "I want this garnet ring so bad." A sales girl from the back walked thru the door (I think she was on lunch) and asked if I had been helped. I said no, I wanted to see this garnet ring and I couldn't remember the name of it and it was gold and silver. She walked to the front and dismissed us to another SA. This SA looks at me like I'm Julia Robert in Pretty Woman and says, "I don't think we have what you're looking for." (Stunned) I said "I saw it online and I love the ring I'm sure of it." She says, "What price range are you looking at." (Shocked) I said "not sure." She bent over to a drawer filled with rings and still acted as if I was Julia. She showed me the PETITE GARNET ALBION RING. As she was closing the drawer, I saw it. I said "I think that's it, can I see that one?" She got it and said "this is way more expensive than the petite." Still shocked and stunned... we left....I never brought up price, didn't care about price all I said I wanted was the garnet ring with a gold and silver band and this chick straight up "Pretty Womans" me. It was the ring and even if she had been 90% rude & 10% helpful I would have bought the ring. Bummer:( read more

I went to this David Yurman store in South Coast plaza a couple of months ago to look for a wedding band for my fiance. We ended up purchasing a modest black titanium band that really suited my fiance's taste. Shawn, the sales associate, was a complete delight and so helpful. This store has a fine collection of jewelry and all the bells and whistles, but none of the pretentious attitude that I find so often at South Coast. I shop at South Coast quite often, and this was probably one of the very few times I felt that the sales associate was not pushy, snobby, or waiting for a customer that was going to spend bigger bucks. I received in the mail today a handwritten "thank you/congratulations" note from Shawn, which was an unexpected surprise for a relatively small purchase (monetarily speaking, but a large purchase in my heart!) What a classy touch- Shawn and this store know how to do business, and I will be back again. Way to make a girl feel special planning her wedding day! read more
