Don't bother making an appt. I made an appt days before and arrived right on time only to be told that the employee who does alterations would not come talk to me and was going to take a 30 minute break instead of meeting with me for our appt....ok? No one bothered to call me and I rushed to drive 40 minutes here for no reason on a Sunday? I had to meet someone and could not hang around and push it so a very nice employee who doesn't do alterations was at least able to look at it and let me know they wouldn't have been able to add fabric anyway as they don't do that at David's . I don't know why I'm surprised lol- but this place is a circus. That being said the two employees I actually interacted with were super sweet! read more

She found me the perfect gown!! I had looked so many places and tried in so many dresses prior to this! Janet made the experience so enjoyable and fun! Not stressful! First and foremost Sophia was excellent to work with and she actually listens to exactly what you ( the bride) wants and doesn't want. She makes suggestions but doesn't take over. She recommended my daughter start with 3 dresses she liked and that was perfect advice. It's so easy to get overwhelmed but we didn't feel that way at all . She picked a couple of dresses based on what she liked from one vrs what she didn't care for at all. I would recommend you asking for her when you set up your appointment. The only thing that bothered me is the restrooms weren't clean and no toilet paper in two. We got there when they opened so this shouldn't have been a issue. read more

Very disappointed with our experience. My future mother in law and I drove 45 minutes to come here. We did not have an appointment, but the website clearly says walk-ins welcome, no appointment is necessary. When we came in, there was no one at the desk to greet us. We browsed for a little bit, and I tried one dress on. Then, a sales associate approached us as we were looking at the racks and told us we had to have an appointment, and there was no way for us to look without one. We left and will not be back. If company policy is that an appointment is required, why does the company website indicate otherwise? read more

My daughter went to the Asheville Davids Bridal as she was a bridesmaid in her friends wedding. She was ignored for a good 10 minutes, however when someone finally assisted her they were nice and helpful. She found the dress she liked but had to order it from another David's. The dress arrived and she made an appointment for her alterations. The alteration lady was very nice and courteous. She priced the alterations and gave my daughter an appointment to come back to pick up. So the day arrived to pick up and her appointment was for Friday at 4:00. At 3:30 they call to say the dress has not arrived yet. Well that was the first we heard the dress has been sent away to be altered. However my daughter reschedules for Tuesday at 10:30. Well no one has called, and when she went to try it on again they inform her the dress is lost. Then the manager of the store proceeds to make her feel as if she has inconvenienced them. She finds another dress and the alterations are to be done in house this time. The bride had picked this place for the dress or we would have long been gone. We picked the dress up today and they were rude and couldn't get rid of us fast enough. Lousy customer service read more

I went to DB with an appointment I made on my way there on line. I bought my dress, 3 bridesmaid dresses, 2 junior dresses, and 2 mother's dresses there. Along w my head piece and my veil. Upon picking up the dresses, they were all too long. Especially my junior dresses, by at least a foot. I had boobs put in my dress that I immediately ripped out as i could see all the way down to my toes basically just looking down my chest line. It was horrible! I was going to be charged an additional $60 for hemming the two junior dresses that wouldn't have been appropriate for ANY junior length. They couldn't have thrown that hem in considering I bought me entire wedding parties stuff there?? David's bridal serves a purpose- but don't let them nickel and dime you to death like they did me: I bet the boutiques don't do that. read more

Alterations are expensive, more than the dress and are not on time. I just got called and my dress won't be ready until a week before the wedding. Absolutely horrendous experience! From walking in the door it was a mess. Had no sizes in store. Not a single person in the store knew anything. Every single question that we had they had to run to someone else. Literally left in tears because of this experience. The amount of stress and disappointment... this was supposed to be a fun experience with my stepmom. It was far from that. There was an employee named Sarah ,who should not be working with the public. This lady was so pretentious . The way she spoke to the lady shamya was appalling . Shamya was amazing! She was trying to be helpful with what very very limited inventory you had in store. I tried on well over 20 dresses and this location did not have ONE single dress in my size. Every dress I tried on was a different size. So I finally find 2 dresses I LOVE, one came from a display. It was satin and so beautiful, not my color but still loved. So my mom and I are deciding if she loved it enough to change the color of the wedding. We didn't have to worry about that, Sarah would randomly intrude as shamya was helping me with dresses/ questions... always to say nope, can't get that dress. So I would start the hunt over. Then again, oh we can't get that. So my mom changed the color of her wedding because Sarah kept saying literally not a single dress can we get in your color what I don't understand is how I a customer can order the exact dress, my size, my color at home and have it in time. But being in the store and someone who works for the company cannot. That does not make sense.. So we ended up finding a dress. Not in store. It was ordered by shamya. So I get home, I am Playing around on the David's bridal website. I can purchase the exact dress that I fell in love with and have it expedited to my house???? So that's 2 dresses I wanted in store but I was told NO, yet again. David's bridal is an absolute joke. You shop here if you want to have more stores before the event and have Sarah follow you around and rush you out of the store like she did us with both time at this location. I was at David's Bridal with a friend who was picking out a bridesmaid dress. We received barely any help or assistance from the woman Jessica who was supposed to be helping her. She simply told my friend to pick some dresses out and try them on. Not once did she check on her through all of the dresses. Thank goodness I was there to help zip & unzip her, put clips on to see where alterations would apply. I'd say if you're a bride looking for a dress they might give you more attention but looking for anything....else good luck!!!! read more

With mixed reviews and conflict about the need for an appointment, I decided to pop in and look at dresses. Immediately upon walking in I was told I could look around but that I needed an appointment to try anything on. Weird flex considering the website just says "no appointment necessary" but okay. And instead of asking if I'd like to schedule an appointment (for today or otherwise), she told me she didn't have any this morning and only had openings this afternoon. Wow. Okay. I also mentioned that I wanted to look at bridesmaids dresses and she completely ignored that. So I walked the entire store and never saw an associate once (except one consultant with a bride) and when I left, the same woman was at the front and didn't even look up at me, say thanks for coming, goodbye, etc. I will never step foot in a David's Bridal again and would never recommend it. read more

Do yourself a favor and never go to David's Bridal. The manager is aggressive as hell and rude. They will screw up your dress and not apologize for putting you through undue stress. Their alterations team is also very rude and tear you down for no reason. They are not there for you; only to line their pockets with money. Let me first say that the staff is very friendly. Every time I walked in, the manager remembered me and was very welcoming! I picked a dress and bought it back in February. I wasn't crazy about it so I exchanged it for one I would feel more comfortable in. Exchanging it was painless for the most part. I made an appointment to try on more when I picked up the original dress but they mixed up my appointments and didn't have a stylist working. So I made another appointment and Darby was there (who I love!!!). Darby is amazing and she helped me with the original dress too. Fast forward to alterations. I have my dress, rang the bell and now I need it to be taken in and hemmed. I wanted the train completely off because I'm having an outside wedding. I was informed its company policy that they can not cut the train but they could pin up a bustle. I should have just gone somewhere else at that point but I guess I was "in the moment" so I stayed. She was supposed to make a permanent bustle and take it in at the top. I go back a few weeks later, the bustle is now a button up and she took it in a little bit. I go back another time, still has not been taken in at the top and the sewn bustle looks awful. Final time, it's taken in where it feels comfortable and the lady working in alterations made me feel that because I wanted a permanent bustle that the zipper is hard to zip up that it was my fault. I was so fed up at that point I took it and now I'm having my friend fix it. The tulle on the outside is what made it look too bunched up and not flowy so she is cutting it smoothly but we noticed that where they hemmed it at the front, the tulle is not cut straight. $300 for alterations was a total rip off. I may recommend getting a dress from Davids Bridal but do not use their alterations department. read more

Allison told me very rudely not to tale the dresses off the racks and then she said they do bridal by appointments. I said I was sorry, I didn't know. She let me leave without offering me an appointment. She was 100 percent discrimination based on mu weight or she didn't think we had money. Either way they where very ryde. Wish I could give this place a 0 star review. Never again will I ever come here. Now I'm a heavy set woman and I am proud of how I look. I walked in with my family just to look around as my husband and I were just married a couple months back and I'm helping a friend plan her wedding now. One of the staff, Allison, walked up to me as I was pulling dresses out to take a picture of them and she grabbed one of the dresses from my hand and said "You're too fat to be wearing this, why are you even looking at it." Now I'm a nice person by nature but the second someone insults me, I'll let you have it. I asked to speak with her manager (old lady w/ red hair) and the manager was just as nasty to me. After dress shopping all day, I made a last minute appointment at David's Bridal Asheville. I got there early and started picking out dresses. My friend joined me shortly after and we were them introduced to our consultant. I knew we wouldn't be able to look at all the dresses we picked but she only bright two to the room. She spent at least 30 minutes out of my hour appointment either pulling dresses or checking on things I didn't ask her to check on. We only got through maybe 6 dresses and my mom had to help me dress and undress. The consultant made me feel like I was interfering in her day and age was tired and wanted to go home. Also, they say they carry up to size 26 in their store and I'm a dress size 28, but 26 will fit to try on. The only sizes she brought me were 18-24. So, none of them really fit well at all. David's Bridal.........Very unhappy with your manager who had the NERVE to call my daughter FAT to her face. Less than two weeks until her wedding and the dress was a little tight.....not bad but it could use a little let out...maybe an eighth of a inch. Instead of knowing all the facts, the manager looked at my daughter and called her fat. To keep from possibly breaking her ankle for a THIRD time, she quit going to the gym. Who would wish to wear another cast and try to walk down the isle. An eighth of an inch was going to cost 105.00 because it was less than two weeks before the wedding. Of course she had picked it up Last Monday where it had been on layaway. Sunday she found out about the 105.00. She went back yesterday to see if anything could be done as she is paying for her own wedding and was called fat by the most awful manager I have seen yet in North Carolina. Her words hurt my daughter to the core and she cried from the time she got in the car until she got home. This is suppose to be the most exciting time and instead she is walking around calling herself fat. To the young lady who helped her yesterday "Thank You". Please note that I will never recommend this store to ANY ONE as long as I know that manager is there. Fat? My daughter can rock a Mermaid style dress like Marilyn Monroe. read more

I had an awful experience at David's Bridal in Asheville. Buying your wedding dress is supposed to be a pleasant, rememorable experience...I was rushed out the door, they told me I only had an hour appointment, after about 45 minutes of getting me re fitted (at the firstappointment my sales rep didn't write down any of my sizes), they rushed me into probably 4 dresses and none of them were giving me the "wow" factor, the rep was getting aggitated and told me I had to hurry because of another client!! I found one dress I liked and it was $800.00, and they acted like I was buying a $99.00 dollar dress like my money wasn't good enough for them...I felt like breaking down and crying the whole time...I would never recommend this place... Finally the manager had to come help me the rest if the time because we took longer than the hour they had given us. I was never offered to have my dress altered or anything they just pushed me out the door. I know it wasnt a $2000.00 dollar dress, but every customer should be treated the same. I would never reccomend this place to a soon to be bride unless you wanna be pushed out the door, they don't care if its a big day for you or not. No soon bride should be treated like that. I will always look back on this and remember how on such big day how awful I was treated. read more

I have had awesome experiences at every other David's Bridal I've been to for my wedding, but the David's Bridal in Asheville was just not quite with it like the other ones have been. I felt as if I were a bother for everything I wanted to look at, and it all was just kind of uncomfortable. Questions that I asked my stylist (Nicki) were received as if I were just putting too much on their plates and as if I was an inconvenience. There also was just not much communication. We were shipping one of my bridesmaid dresses to my bridesmaid's house, but after we purchased it the woman who was checking us out forgot to get my bridesmaid's address or phone number. It was all very disorganized. Like I said, I've had great experiences at every other David's Bridal I've been to, this one was just not quite right. read more

I wish I could give this location 0 stars. Our experience here was absolutely awful. I came here with my mother, who is 49 years old and in search for a gown for her second marriage. As an "older" bride, she already has insecurities about wedding dress shopping--what type of dress she should wear, what will look good on her, etc. The consultant that we were so unfortunate to work with essentially crushed my mother's spirit. First of all, we had to share our consultant with another appointment--there is no possible way that one consultant can cater to the needs of two different brides. The consultant did not even ask my mother about her price range, or what she was looking for in a dress--she simply brought over dresses that were in her size, and then turned her attention to the other appointment. The real issue with our appointment, however, was the attitude and behavior of the consultant who worked with us. She was rude, condescending and simply mean to my mother. She acted as if my mother was insignificant and didn't matter as much as other customers, simply because of her age. In my mother's words, she felt "humiliated" by the treatment of our consultant. This is absolutely unacceptable. All brides, regardless of their age, should feel beautiful, confident, special, and catered to while searching for wedding gowns. Our consultant, and subsequently the management of this location, treated my mother horribly and reinforced all of her fears and insecurities about buying a wedding dress. I am heartbroken that my mother endured this treatment and am absolutely disgusted by the staff and management of this location. Upon reading other reviews, it appears that this location consistently provides horrible customer service. I wish we had heeded the warnings of other customers and stayed away from this location. Unless you want to feel "humiliated" while searching for a wedding dress, GO TO ANY OTHER STORE in Asheville. read more

I was skeptical about David's Bridal until I visited a different store with a friend and was wowed by the service she received. I too, tried David's Bridal after trying one other salon where I had an experience I was less than thrilled with. The sales associate helping me found my dream dress on the second attempt. She was wonderful. She was so eager and willing to help, adding a larger crinoline, swapping out headpieces and veils, just to help me achieve the look I was going for. We had the best experience at David's in Asheville. The stylist, Tara, was wonderful! She was quick, efficient, and listened to every concern and idea I had. She put together a beautiful bridal look in a few minutes and I left with my dream dress and accessories that same day. We had the first appointment of the day and had the whole place to ourselves. From the second we walked in, the staff treated us like honored guests and made me feel gorgeous!
