Okay, so the issue started before I even entered the building! There was this rude lady in the parking lot about to curse somebody out or something OVER A PARKING SPACE! That was a sign right there. But I ignored it. So I go into the David's Bridal and it's literally swarming with people. DO NOT GO ON A SATURDAY! DO NOT DO IT! Too many people!!! And not just any kind of people. RUDE WOMEN! Rude women that will bum rush you and knock you over just to get to some pretty little dress that their big selves probably can't fit in anyway. I'm just saying. Also, the dress selection sucks. Don't bother coming here looking for a prom dress if you're petite, curvy and are on a budget. They have NOTHING for you. All of the dresses are either for tall girls, girls who don't mind short dresses or really freaking expensive. Now I DID manage to find a high-low dress for sixty bucks. But dang. All they have for people like me are high-low dresses lol. I wore a high-low last year for prom and I'm wearing one this year. Long story short? Ehhh. I'd take my money elsewhere. So I'm in the minority here, I guess, but I didn't have a horrible experience at this David's. Granted, I'll admit, the greetings aren't the best, but as far as the gown buying process went, it was actually pretty good! My mom and I went in one Friday afternoon (which probably made it less hectic, but I still had an appointment), not intending on buying a gown. Some of them aren't all that well made, but what do you expect from this kind of place? They need to attract brides of all kinds to make money as a chain store, which means lower-end, cheap dresses, and higher-end, more expensive gowns (but still not as expensive as a lot of designers). Sandy was wonderful. She was so patient with me as I perused the racks, having no idea what I wanted. We were just there to try stuff on to see what kind of silhouettes and fabrics I liked- the intent was to go to a boutique or local salon with a narrowed-down field of gowns. I don't know why other brides had issues with having their associates help, because Sandy was there in the thick of it, zipping me up, bringing me undergarments and slips, giving me an honest opinion. When what I thought I wanted wasn't doing it for me, she really helped. She was SO patient with me. I was stuck between an organza ballgown, a satin fit and flare and a tea length gown. This poor woman had to deal with my ever-changing taste. She even undressed a mannequin for me to try on a gown they didn't have on the rack yet, but I'm so glad she did, because that's the one I loved and bought (even though I didn't expect to)! Also, Grant was super helpful as well when I came in the next day and Sandy was with another girl. So if you call for an appointment, ask for Sandy or Grant! I can't remember my tailor's name from DB, but she's an older, sweet lady. Again, she was also so incredibly patient. My gown has seven layers, and I decided mid-fitting I couldn't wear the heels anymore/for the wedding and would wear flats, and she started the hemming process all over again. What a trooper. I haven't gotten it back yet, so I'll reserve judgment on the quality of the work, but the customer service alone is great. The only regret I have is that I didn't go to any other place before I went here and bought a dress. When my mom and I went shopping for her MOB gown, I wanted to try on a bunch of designer gowns that just looked so much fun! But I still love my David's Vera gown (it's like a cloud, seriously), so I don't regret it TOO much : ) THE OTHER THING: Ladies, if you buy a Vera gown from here, it's important to note that if you want to change the design (add pockets, add straps, etc.) you CAN NOT do it here. They have a contract. Just find another trustworthy tailor to do the work for you (but once you do, you can't get any work done at David's - another sticking point). But if you know that going into it, you can't get mad. read more

So as a bridesmaid, it was cool because I was just fitting for a dress already chosen for me. As a bride, uh no! There were so many damn people, we had no space. I had to share a mirror with another bride and my guest had nowhere to sit. I couldn't even model walk my dress without bumping into someone. A dress fitting is supposed to be a special and an emotional moment but I felt like I was on a game show, "Who can try on the most wedding dresses in 10 minutes?! BOWIE EDITION" Oh and they ring this cow bell, I believe when someone makes a choice. Idk but it was still country and tacky. I felt like I was in a barn. I told the representative exactly what type of dress I wanted but she kept bringing something different back. I was convinced they didn't have any dresses I liked until my wedding planner went with her to look. So don't depend on them, some have no taste. Dont do it!! My friend and I arrived for an already scheduled appointment to look some pre-selected dresses and get some questions answered. When we entered to check-in, 2 salespeople were basically talking to a customer (a good 2-3 minutes) and didn't even acknowledge us standing there. We went over to another service desk where 2 other workers were talking amongst themselves and didn't acknowledge us either. After waiting, 1 of the people FINALLY looked up and said "yall need to go back to those people at the other desk for help...". We went back over again, waited for them all to finish talking and then shared with one of the salespeople we were there for an appt (now 10min after the scheduled time ). She checked and there was no record of this, of course. Luckily the bride was registered so she called someone, said someone would be up to help us in a moment, and left. We stood there another 5 minutes at the front waiting and watching other customers in the back try on dresses and sit around (it was not at all busy). After about 5 minutes waiting up front, the same woman who had spoken with us came back to the front and told us we can "look around " and the salesperson that she called would "find us..."? There was really no need to "look around " since our dresses were already preselected, but we did just to kill some time. As we did, we could see and hear several sales people talking/laughing amongst themselves at the front desks and as they walked around the store . There was also another salesperson who was hanging up dresses but when approached for assistance, she would walk away to another section.... After about another 15-20 minutes of "looking around " with no assistance (and a previously scheduled appointment), we left. On the way out, we saw a salesperson outside the store chatting on her cellphone.... I wish I had read the multiple 1, 2 & 3 star reviews prior going to this store that I see extend way back to 2010 (almost 10 years). My fitting was with Davids Bridal in Bowie MD for both my wedding dress as well mas my bridesmaids. My wedding dress fitting was BOMB, Tiffany helped me and she made sure I was getting my dream dress as well within my budget. My bridesmaids fitting was Saturday, two days ago, and I disliked the lady that helped me and my girls out. Her name was Annette or Antoinette, she was talking to fast, sort of rude, and didn't seem interested in really helping us. Her attitude was more so let me get you girls fitted , get your money and move on, almost as if she didn't really want to be working two days ago. My experience was the worst, needless to say everytime you would ask her a question she would response with short answers which was very annoying. My girls fitting was at 2:00 pm and it seemed as if the store was overbooked and understaffed. The lady at the front desk called about 3 different ladies to help us 6 different times. The store was crowded and there weren't enough rooms to help my 7 bridemaids. The store didn't have many dresses in the style I had chosen to try on..not to mention I had to look through the dresses for my girls to try on by myself. and escort myself to the fitting rooms. The experience was horrible...after I pick up my wedding dress I wont be returning to Davids bridal in Bowie MD Save yourself the headache and either go see Tiffany or Falon at the store or travel further for a greater experience. read more

I normally don't leave reviews but I had to let everyone know how amazing Operations Manager Ashley Williams helped me yesterday. The initial dress i purchased on 2/5/17 (wedding is tomorrow) fell through. Ashley worked her magic and not only did I walk out David's with a beautiful dress that fit perfectly, it was much better than my initial dress. Ashley was very helpful, knowledgeable and patient. They were short staffed but she NEVER treated me differently. She was on point with everything. read more

If it was up to me they'd get 0 stars. I had an appointment scheduled weeks ahead, got there and waited an hour plus to be seen. They never helped me pick out dresses, just told me to go look at the racks. When time to try on different dresses the girl I worked with limited me to 3 dresses and when asked about altering a dress, they did not try to assist with solutions or even want to at all. Myself along with about 3 other appointments were stuffed on one side of the store and you couldn't even hear yourself think. The family I brought with me felt uncomfortable and like the person assisting us was too focused on the bride across from us. It was very unorganized. Months later I found a better dress and had a better experience and now David's Bridal can't take my dress back nor exchange it. Of course they can't. They will take your money and run! DON'T SHOP HERE!!!! If it's true that they are going out of business and filing bankrupt, I see why. read more

Two weeks before my wedding on a Saturday I went into Davids Bridal Glen Burnie no appointment just walked in hoping to find something inexpensive because my budget was next to nothing ( my original dress was lost circumstances beyond my control). I found a dress I didn't love it but I needed a dress Well the dress was $300 on the clearance rack ( still over my budget) because I was in panic mode I thought I can make it work some how, Well I put $160 down on the dress I only had $200 and left thinking It will be ok would some how I will make it work, Well while looking for shoes with the $40 I had left I found another dress, I loved it, it was only $108 so I thought let me go back and get the money from Davids I can buy the dress I love and everything will work out, I got to the store first thing the next morning 24 hours had not passed, spoke to a manager told her i wanted to cancel the layaway get my money back I was told that I would have to get my refund via check in the mail imagine my shock and horror I almost lost it, I read the return policy they sent me via email as well as what was at the bottom of my receipt and no were did it say refunds via mail, I asked the person who stated that she was one of the managers ( wish i had gotten her name) were was that policy because its not posted in the store it s not on the receipt and its not in the email that was sent to me, She went on to say that they only have $200 cash in the register and all refunds over $50 had to be mailed I spoke to the second person who stated that she was the manager I did her name Maggie who was also no help, I left angry and defeated. I called the store Monday morning spoke to Jocelyn who stated that she was the store manager i told that I wanted my money refunded the way that I paid she she gave this whole I am sorry its store policy i asked where can I find the policy because it s not in the email its not on the receipt nor is it posted in the store she said its in fine print where again was my question she then says I will work on your refund call me around 4:00pm, I called Jocelyn at 3:16pm, she gave me this whole song and dance about she didn't make enough cash sales to refund my money I then asked her if you have $200 in the register at all time why can't you give me my money she said it was all nickels and pennies ( out right lie because you will not give a person that pays cash and gets change back nickles and pennies) then she goes on the say I thought you already brought another dress anyway which sent me over the top in anger first its none of business if I did or didn't its my money and i want it back,was my thought however i yelled How can i buy another dress when I cant get my money back from you, she then says well if you give me your number when I make enough cash sales i will call you, I hung up the phone immediately called the corporate office 610-943-5000 well that was not even worth the time first I got we are experiencing high call volume waited on hold over 30 minutes called back connected to the operator who transferred me to customer service and I got a message we are closed for the holiday i called back again spoke to Jerry who was the operator told him about the message he took a message ad said that he would forward it to a manager the only help and kindness I got though this whole crazy mess well still no call back even as i write this, the funny thing was I called the corporate number at 6:02 am and that same we are experiencing heavy then normal call volume played in my ear. it is now days before my wedding and i have not heard from Davids bridal no manager no customer service and no i have not gotten my refund. Shopping at David's Bridal in Bowie Maryland has been the only negative experience I have had planning for my wedding. I found the dress I wanted which was not in stock. The salesperson, who was never helpful and only seemed put out, told me I could have it at the end of August. This was in late July. I told her I would order it online and she was clearly disgusted and walked away. I brought my dress back in for alterations. I don't know any local seamstresses so I had to go back. Now I own this dress and I asked for the train to be cut off. I didn't want a train but loved the dress. I was told that they couldn't cut the train. It was store policy and the manager didn't budge. I own the dress!!! I can have all kinds of other stuff done but they won't remove MY train!! So stuck of course I agreed to have them do an under bustle. The dress was on sale for $499. My alterations were $493!!! That's right almost what I paid for the dress. And where did the bulk of the money go? TO PAY FOR THE BUSTLE!! Fine you scam artists take my money and my dress. I got the dress back and the fit is wonderful! The bustle however is horrible! They did such a cheap job on it that when the bustle is out all you see are buttons and it makes it look like the dress is snagged. Why didn't I say something at the store? Because she bustled it so quickly I never saw it. So 5 days before my wedding I will walk down the aisle in a $1000 gown that I will have to keep bustled because I can't leave it down for people to see my train - the train I didn't want. So thanks David's for ensuring that I have one negative experience during my wedding preparations !! I guess it wouldn't be a wedding without some so called professional screwing a bride!! read more

I went on on Saturday to try to find a dress for my friend's wedding. I am a bridesmaid and needed to find a beautiful dress in... wait for it... lavender. Lovely color, but not easy to find a lovely and contemporary dress in that color. Alicia, the sales associate was great, she showed me a number of options. I tried on a few and settled on one with the thought - 'okay, it is not my wedding day, I don't need to love my dress' attitude. I thanked Alicia for her time and went up to order the dress, only to be informed that both of my top two choices of the nondescript dresses that I had selected were discontinued in the color that I needed for the wedding. I went back to Alicia and shared my plight. She then took me over to the Vera Wang bridesmaids dress section, and we started the search again. When I tried on the first dress that she had selected for me, it was love at first sight. I knew that there was no need to try on anything else. I had found my dress!!! I sent an email to the bride to get her approval and after receiving, went to place my order; only to be told that it would take 17 weeks for that dress to come in (it would arrive a week after the wedding). Luckily, Alicia, Skyla and Jente were on the case and kept searching and working with me until we found a solution. We selected another Vera Wang dress that was similar in style - that had all of the pieces that I loved from the original dress, with a slightly darker color (approved by the bride), and we were all set. This is definitely the short version - all told, it took us about an hour or so of team work to make this happen, in a middle of a very busy shopping Saturday in the store. I was so impressed by the level of determination of the staff to help me find a dress that I would love to wear as well as feel comfortable in. At no point did Alicia, Skylar, or Jente seem bothered or put out. Instead they made me feel like my search was just as important to them, and I really appreciated it. My daughter was not looking forward to the dress shopping experience, however Maria found many styles that looked stunning on her. I order my bridesmaid dress in April 2016. The dress came in in July just as they promised. I picked the dressed up and slipped it on just to make sure it fit. I was by myself and couldn't zip it up. A week before the wedding I decide to try it on again. Two people couldn't get the zipper to work. My mom and I went to the Bowie store for help. The seamstress' only solution--it will take two people to zip up this dress. Six days later, 2 hours before the wedding, my cousin has problems with her zipper and it takes 3 people to get her in hers. My mother tells me to get mine on immediately in case we have problems. Two people try and the zipper won't budge through the thick "ruching" on this dress. While trying to move it, the zipper begins to split below where we are. At this point, I have a meltdown of tears. As MOH, I am $1,500 in the hole and may have to watch from the sidelines. It is then decided that I should take the dress off and we will zip it down and then up, above the ruched part. Even with me not in it, the zipper was stubborn and wouldn't budge up or down in the ruching. We had to grab a pair of pliers and then the zipper came off completely. I lost it again. However, this was the best thing to happen. I had 2 seamstress' in my presence and they took the zipper off and started sewing the zipper closed from the bottom. We cleaned up my makeup, touched up my hair and the show went on. A week later when I went back to the Bowie store to ask for my money back, I kept getting "we don't give refunds". No one listened to my story and took into consideration the fact that I had come down to remedy this BEFORE it happened. Then the Assistant Store Manager, Jente Green, stepped in. I explained the entire situation and her initial response was that I would need to call back the next day and speak to the store Manager. As we continued to talk, she asked if they had previously offered to switch out the factory plastic zipper for a metal one and I told her this option was never given to me. Next thing I know she is refunding my entire purchase price. Thank you Ms. Green. She understands customer service. I would have hated to take them to small claims court. I gave them a 4-star rating for Ms. Green's service. David's Bridal get 0 stars for using cheap zippers from the get go. Instead of supplying your seamstresses with metal ones, put good zippers in dresses with "ruching" when they are manufactured. Also, stop giving a bride the false discount of $20 for her bridesmaids, when the dresses are $20 off 99% of the time and the two deals can't be used together. Finally, stop advertising Buy 1, Get 1 Free, but it only applies to items in the same department. For example, if I wanted to get my earrings and shoes--two different departments, no discount. My sister wanted a veil, but no headpiece, and a necklace. Veil and earrings, two different departments, NO discount. Again, thanks Ms. Green :-) read more

Although I was not a bride or bridesmaid, but a hostess I went into the Bowie store for a dress at the last minute. The dress I had originally ordered from another store was too small and the wedding was in 7days. I needed a blush colored dress for a full figured woman and I had no appointment. I went to every store in my area to locate somewhat of a cocktail/special occasion dress. I want to say that Kelly,who was checking in appointments quickly was able to find me a consultant to assist me in locating a dress for my body type. Although they didn't have the size and color I needed Falon was very helpful and patient. She went above and beyond to help me by contacting other stores in other states to locate the dress in the size and color I needed. She was finally able to locate one in North Carolina and they were able to send the dress to me next day. KUDOS to Kelly and Falon. read more

About 2-3 weeks ago i had my 2nd bad experience at the Davids in Glen Burnie all over shoes and the lack of knowledge that the employees there have for their inventory. As im standing in line waiting for the sale's associate to help me with my situation i decided to vent my frustrations on social media...my facebook page! Within 30 min. of my post i had a sale associate/manager from the Bowie location call me and ask what my situation was....ahh the power of social media! I explained to her that back in February myself and my bridal party had an appointment with the GB location and everything went fine till we were half way through ringing up my 7 girls. At about the 3rd girl i was informed that the Marabella shoe we had picked out could not be dyed when i was told by the original girl who helped us that it could be. Now i was at a dilemma because all of my girls were in love with this shoe and they agreed that it would be a shoe that they could wear again. so we all talked for a min and we all decided to just get them in black since all the dresses were dark fall colors anyway (red,persimmon & cocoa) But that was not the end of it, at this point i realized that my shoes now could not be dyed to the persimmon color that i wanted them and if i did dye a pair that my shoes would not match the girls. A few months later ( now current date) i went back to same location to pick out shoes that could be dyed. I had an associate help me and picked out the Paloma...went up from to pay and give them the color i wanted and was told by the next girl sorry these have been discontinued. Really why didn't the last girl know this information?? So the option she came up with was to see if another store had them and have them shipped to me....that was fine till she told me it would be an extra $15 or so dollars to ship them. At this point i was pissed but what was i gonna do i needed shoes my big day was 30 days away at this point so i said just order them. so now my $50 shoes were $76...like a wedding doesn't cost enough. So now back to your angle from the Bowie location who called me.... called the Fl. store (i think it was) to tell them my situation and that i would be calling them to cancel my transaction because the Bowie store had them in-stock in my size. With all my information in the computer your Bowie associate figured out that we lived just a little over a mile apart and that for all my issues she would meet me and give me the shoes when they were done to save me the shipping charge. This woman needs a raise & gets 10 stars in my book. The shoes are perfect and look amazing with my dress! I can not wait for my big day...25 days to go :) read more

I made an appointment online and just wanted to get the whole experience over with. I came to David's Bridal with an idea of running away to Las Vegas to get married. I wanted a "non-traditional" dress. I met my stylist, Rashima and she was an angel, truly heaven sent. She took me around to what I thought I wanted, but after trying on a few dresses, she found my dream dress. The dress was so perfect, it didn't even need to be altered! She helped me pick out jewelry, shoes, and tiara. She was helping 3 other people and I still felt like she was helping just me and one other person. I even forgot to order my corset when I should have with my dress. I called the store the day I was to pickup my dress and spoke with her. She pulled my corset from the back and it was waiting for me when I arrived. I was stressed and due to leave the next day and she pulled through for me!!! I would recommend this store to any bride that isn't sure what she wants and needs some help. I have to say everyone was helpful, but Rashima was amazing!!! read more

Will not go back! My daughter and I are in a wedding next week, as well as my own wedding in a month. Ordered ALL of our dresses from there and alterations as well. My daughters dress was ordered in January and just came in 2 days ago for the next week wedding, and is completely untrue to size. They will not exchange the dress for the smaller size and rush order it, but instead want me to pay $70 for a hem AND $30 rush fee when for both weddings (both of our dresses) and alterations I have already spent over $1600. read more

I was skeptical about my appointment at David's, both fearing poor quality dresses and from reading bad reviews about the service at the Bowie store. When I showed up, my appointment wasn't showing on their system, which caused some initial trepidation, but they still fit me in at my scheduled time. I had Vanessa, and she was completely attentive and proficient. I found a few dresses that I loved and at this point I expect that I will likely order one of them for my wedding. Vanessa was extremely helpful and did not put any pressure on me. I haven't even made it to the store yet, just the customer service alone on the phone, has me in a very bad place. I called to speak to someone about exchanging a wedding dress, I brought in another state. First, the phone ranged for a very long time.... (Its 11:17 you suppose to be open). Then someone answers the phone and didn't give her name. I told her my situation then she said I would have to speak with her manager because she handles exchanges. I was placed on hold, so I'm just waiting on hold and no one comes to phone (I'm at work, with it on speaker so minutes are passing) Finally, I hung up and called back I say, "hello, I just called and I was just left on hold." The girl states that there's only one person working the floor and something about patience. While, I was trying to explain, I am fine with that but someone could have came back to the phone and told me or maybe took my number so I could receive a call back when they were available. The girl on the phone decided to over talk me. Then she says in a condescending voice, "Is there anything else I can do for you?" So, I replied with, "No, just some courtesy." I was immediately placed on hold after that. Lastly three minutes passed and the phone was picked up and hung up on me. I refused to call back. read more

Brides BEWARE!!! This location has the worst customer service. I am having two weddings. A small justice of the peace ceremony and a larger destination wedding. I came here to purchase the justice of the peace dress and it was a bad decision. I previously purchased the dress another day but when returning to pick up the dress the problem began. First, the dress was given to me extremely wrinkled as if they used the dress to clean the floor. Second, the dress had multiple spots on it. I was upset by this but still remained calm and hopeful. The sales clerk states she will get her manager. The clerk attempts to get the manager multiple times over a 30 minute wait and we had yet to see her. Finally the manager comes out, walks past us to go talk to another associate. When she finally comes to us, she didn't apologize for the wait or for the appearance of the dress. With an attitude from the beginning, she informs us the only thing they can do it clean the dress. I ask how can she guarantee the stains will come out. She informs me that she can guarantee it because they clean it in house and they can steam the dress to get rid of the wrinkles. The only thing I can think is, if this is possible why wasn't this done before giving me the dress? The manager is still talking to us with an attitude and in an uninterested way. By this point, I am disgusted by how we are being spoken to and request a refund. Obviously, this manager doesn't value me as a customer and so I took my business elsewhere. I wish I got her name but she was the manager on duty Thursday, February 9th around 8pm. David's Bridal, you need to be more concerned about the people you hire. Shopping for a wedding dress is a stressful but exciting time and that moment shouldn't be ruined by someone with a nasty attitude. I purchased my destination wedding dress from a real bridal boutique where they treat you and your dress with respect and value. This was my first time shopping for wedding gowns and I was turned ALL the way off. I arrived with 2 of my bridesmaids and we were asked to wait a few minutes until Justin finished his previous appointment. Once he met with us he immediately treated us as if we were wasting his time. He was clearly frustrated when we didn't understand the wedding gown lingo (who knew foundation meant undergarments, in my world it refers to makeup) and spoke to us like we were stupid. When I finally found a dress that I loved he announced loudly that they only had an 8 and 10 in stock and I wasn't going to fit either, which was kind of embarrassing. He then told me if I wanted to try the dress on in my size I would have to order it. Well, why would I order something that I haven't even seen on myself? He became pushy at the end of the fitting and tried to close the sale. When I declined he said that he would follow up with me in a week. Two weeks later and.....SURPRISE, I still have not heard from him. I'm not complaining though, I would buy the dress from any other salon just to ensure he didn't get the sale. read more

This was the second shop I visited for my wedding dress. The first shop was a boutique and while nice, I enjoyed my experience at David's Bridal much more. My consultant Maria was very knowledgable. I showed a few pics of the type of dress I was looking for and she brought me exactly the types of dresses that I wanted to put on. I didn't even have to search through the dresses on my own as she knew what she had in stock. I also appreciated that I didn't feel rushed or any pressure to make a decision. I also loved that DB felt like a one stop shot. They have shoes, accessories, alterations, relationships with other wedding vendors. And the value is exceptional AND my dress is arriving in 7 weeks as opposed to 7 months as was the case at the boutique shop that I went to. For a bride that wants good service, good value, and a well-oiled machine handling her bridal attire, DB (Bowie, anyway) is a great choice. read more

My experience dealing with HABEEB in the alterations department was absolutely horrendous! This man should NEVER be allowed to work with BRIDES or women for that matter as he has a huge lack of compassion for this market of customers. First off, I ordered my dress April 9th, based off of HABEEBS "professional opinion" I ordered the size BIGGER than the one that fit me. Months later I returned for my alterations. The first alterations I had done was to the bottom of my dress and costume $270. Upon trying it on I saw that too much fabric was taken off of the bottom in the back of the dress and the dress design was completely changed. Already upset about this, I then noticed that the bustle was horrible assembled and the buttons were placed crooked. When I said something about it, he got frustrated and grabbed scissors from his desk and clipped the bustle buttons off my dress, snagging the fabric. He then proceeded to tell me that it was fixable and then gave me the price to bring in the sides of my dress which would have cost me an additional $290.00. Not that money has anything to do with this situation, but my original dress was a CLEARANCE DRESS marked at $399.00. So this man, was trying to charge me double what the dress was worth to alter the dress. When I confronted him about the fact that he originally recommended the size bigger and now was sizing the dress down to the one I should have originally bought and was trying to charge me an absurd amount to do so he got belligerent. I requested a manager at which point in time, he then got inches from my sisters face and put his hands in her face stating "what are you not understanding, now I'm getting angry!" I was completely taken back at the fact that this man was speaking to me like this but when he put his hands that close to my sister I lost it! I was in tears standing there 4 WEEKS BEFORE MY WEDDING, in a dress that no longer looked like the one I bought because it had been destroyed in alterations. When requesting to speak with a manager HABEEB claimed that he "owned the store and he makes the decisions." My sister then went to the front and found the store manager ASHLEY, who promptly came back to the alterations department to address the situation. Once seeing me in tears, she addressed HABEEB about what was going on, and then asked my sister as well. HABEEB was extremely argumentative with ASHLEY in front of myself and other customers. ASHLEY then came into the dressing room and kindly comforted me stating that she would rush order me the new dress in the original size that I should have ordered. THIS IS HOW A PROFESSIONAL HANDLES SITUATIONS LIKE THIS!! I was obviously panicked because my wedding was only weeks away, but ASHLEY assured me that the dress would be here by the 27th. She then informed me that HABEEB had overcharged me for the first alterations he did to begin with and I was refunded the $53.00 he over charged me. ASHLEY offered to personally pin my dress for me when it came in, which I was appreciative of. Luckily my new dress came in Sept 27 and I was back for alterations with ASHLEY days after. I just picked up my dress from ASHLEY at the store Monday and I am so pleased with her work. The dress look exactly how I imagined it would look! ASHLEY handled this situation like a true professional! I will NEVER recommend alterations at Davids Bridal in Bowie if you have to deal with HABEEB! He ruined my dress, he ruined my experience, he was so aggressive he had the nerve to put his hands in my sisters face and he lacks ANY compassion as he stood there continuing to argue with me until I was in tears. The best thing you could do is remove HABEEB from your establishment! THANK YOU ASHLEY FOR SAVING THE DAY!! read more

My girlfriend and I went to this David's Bridal on 11/11 to see if she could get her Bridesmaid's dress altered because she couldn't zip it up. With the wedding being on 11/12, today, she was panicked. She spoke with a lady over the phone who told her to come in, she would be able to alter it for a fee and it would be ready the same day. However, when we got there, the lady was disinterested and didn't present a willingness to help at all. She had my friend try on the dress only to say there's nothing she could do for her. Now my friend was even more stressed. As we walked out of the store, one of the workers stopped us and said the manager, Ashley, asked if we could give her a second while she helped another customer because she wanted my friend to try the dress on again to see what she could do...long story short, Ashley was able to suggest wearing the correct undergarments to ensure the fitting of the dress. She went and got a corset type bra and had my friend try it on and then try on the dress. After some tugging and pulling, the dress was zipped and fit her fabulously!! It only took the right type of bra, which my friend purchased. Ashley was wonderful!!! She didn't have to stop assisting customers to help us but she did and saved the day! We definitely need more people like Ashley working in these roles, where their jobs are to assist customers efficiently and with a smile on her face! Ashley ROCKS!!!! read more

I first met Ashley in the Rockville David's Bridal. She understood my vision 100% and helped me find dresses that I loved, even though she was busy helping other people with alterations. When it came time to get my dress altered, I called the Rockville store and specifically requested her, only to find out that she moved to the Bowie location. I called Bowie and she set up an appointment. She did not mention that she no longer does alterations but is now a manager until we were there and she was pinning my dress. She wanted to make sure since I specifically requested her, that she would be the person to help with my alterations. I've spoken with her several times and every single time she is attentive, helpful, and so very kind. I'm coming back in a week or so to finish alterations and once again, she is arranging her schedule to make sure she is the one to help with my alterations. I believe her words were "I wouldn't have it any other way." I can't begin to explain how relieved I am to have someone that is dedicated to making sure that I receive the best service and have a great experience, even though I'm sure she has a million other responsibilities as a manager!! People are quick to complain about horrible customer service, so I couldn't sit back and not RAVE about how wonderful my experiences have been thus far with Ashley. I came to David's for my wedding dress and bridesmaid's dresses. My first experience was on a busy Saturday in February, so some of my complaints had to do with the service I received. The Lady was not bringing me dresses that I asked for, nor was she helping to show me how the dress would be altered, etc. I chalked it up to her having a very busy day and 2 clients at once. I made another appointment for myself to make that final decision. It was a Friday appointment at 3:00. Once I arrived I was told that the person would be with me soon. After about 45 mins, no one had started to assist me. I told my Bride-maids that we were leaving. The only reason I stayed for 30 more mins, than I usually would have is because my friends had taken off work. Needless to say we walked out to be followed out my an employee asking us to stay. Since I am a little bit of a sucker I said OK, plus I still felt bad my friends took off for this. We did try on some bridesmaid's dress, but I was not giving this store a dime of my money. I normally never write reviews, but I felt I had to because so many people told me how bad the Bowie David's was.... I wanted them to be wrong, because this location is less than 1 mile from my house. I did end up buying my dress from David's, but not this one. I drove to the Glen Burnie store. I received excellent service, and in 1 appointment I found my Dress and the bridesmaid's dresses. Don't make the mistake of going to Bowie, even if it's up the street from your house! read more
