I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews for this particular location. I've had great experiences here. I scheduled a bridal appointment on New Year's Day to shop for a dress for my March destination wedding/elopement. When I arrived, I was promptly and cheerfully greeted. The associate working with me was professional and made me feel like she was genuinely interested in me and my wedding. She asked me about my wedding location and feel and asked what kind of dress I was looking for. She made several great dress, jewelry, and headpiece suggestions and I was able to find the perfect dress on my first visit. My dress needed some minor alterations so I got fitted for alterations the same day. The alterations staff that helped me (there were two of them) were also friendly and attentive. When I returned for my dress fitting and to pick up my dress approximately three weeks later, I also had a great experience. My only problem is that I had to wait a few minutes past my scheduled pick up time. It was a busy Friday evening, but the wait wasn't unusually long. After my wedding, I returned so that I could send off my gown to be preserved. I have to admit that I wasn't promptly greeted when I entered. (The associate standing at the front was helping another customer.) However, once I was greeted, the manager apologized for the wait and took my package to be sent off as agreed. (Note that in order to do this, you have to purchase your dress from David's Bridal and also purchase their wedding gown preservation kit.) Just about all of the staff that I've encountered at this location have been professional, friendly, and knowledgeable about their products/inventory. Other than the minor issues described above, my experience has been great. If I have another wedding or formal occasion to attend, I would definitely go back. read more

Wow. I made an appointment for my mother to find her mother of the bride dress a few weeks in advance and when we walked in it was like we were invisible. We were there on a Saturday and it was super busy. Finally, someone noticed us and checked us in. Our attendant was servicing what seemed like 3 other customers and rushed us through the appointment. We were left by ourselves for a good amount time and then shown to a dressing room. After that we never saw our rep again so we left. There were kids running all over the store too! I would like to see a policy "no children or no more than 3 people in your party etc." like boutiques do. These children were all over and running through the dresses and no one seemed to care. It dampened the experience for my mother and me. I also didn't like that they had a limited selection of mother of the bride dresses in plus size. We found my mom's dress elsewhere. read more

~The gown selection was great however there was confusion over prices with tailoring the gown. We were quoted one price by one lady , but the tailor added some other items and the price soared. We were not prepared for that. So we got some tailoring and will do the rest ourselves. ~The gown selection is better in the store than online. ~ I did NOT like the return policy. If a gown is ordered online, it must be returned via online and UPS/ Fedex, shipping at your own expense. The store does not take returns purchased. I had an amazing experience here. I had an appointment for 10:30 on a Saturday morning. I was greeted by two lovely ladies as soon as I walked in the door and was immediately introduced to my assistant, Valarie. She was amazing!! She had a printout of several of the styles that I was looking at online. She let me browse a bit then selected about 7 dresses that matched my selections. She assisted me in zipping up the dresses and was so nice and pleasant. I never felt rushed or stressed and it was a better experience than I ever dreamed of. I found the perfect dress and Valarie gave me a hug before I left. They did not have my dress in my size but assured me they would have it in 2 weeks. I cannot wait to pick it up!! My wedding is coming in like 20 days. This is our second so nothing very puffy or super elegant was required. I went into the salon and my consultant Kay was absolutely amazing. She asked me all the right questions. Price, color, size... the most important for me was the price so she found me like 7 or 8 dresses around my price range. I told her exactly what I wanted and she was able to pick out many designs within the price range. She had a least 8 to 10 dresses in her arm. 09/27/2016 My daughter and I went to David's Bridal in Bowie yesterday. She had previously bought a wedding dress online from Nordstrom's. It was beautiful and fit perfectly. However, she just wasn't sure if that was the one. We had previously visited the David's Bridal store in Glen Burnie and did not find anything. The service was limited, as the staff was too busy to devote time to my daughter's experience. (I don't blame the salesperson that helped us. She was stretched thin and did her best.) So, when my daughter decided she wanted to try the Bowie store, I was willing, but hesitant, based on the Glen Burnie' store experience. She called the Bowie store when it opened and got a 2 p.m. appointment. When we walked in, we were greeted pleasantly and told they would get the sales rep to help us. Within a few minutes, we met Maria, who instantly began a very well planned process. I was impressed that she had an information exchange conversation with my daughter. It wasn't only a listening conversation, which of course, is important. But, they engaged in a truly helpful conversation--helpful to both in order to work together for a successful appointment. It went from better to best! Maria displayed a true love of her work--which is so important for successful customer service. She was respectful and helpful and happy! She did not see this as drudge work, of which I'm sure it could become, and which I saw exhibited previously. There is so much stress associated with helping a bride find the perfect dress for her most important day. We were so fortunate to have Maria helping us. We found the perfect dress. And, just as it happens on 'Say YES to the Dress', not only did my daughter and I have the happy, tearful joy moments of finding the right dress, Maria also had that tearful, joyful experience! She was sincerely happy and touched that my daughter looked so beautiful in the perfect dress which Maria helped make happen. It made the moment even more perfect. Thank you, Maria! Would give the service that I received 5 stars if I didn't have to wait so long even though I had scheduled an appointment. My appointment was at 2pm and wasn't assisted until 3pm and it was PACKED in there!!!!! All of the stylist were still busy so the manager Ashley actually helped me as the stylist, and being first timer at this she made me feel very comfortable. She stayed in my price point including alterations and totally got what the vision of what i wanted to look like! In fact even better than me! The dress that ended up being THE ONE was one I would have never picked for myself. Ashley even went the extra mile to make this dress perfect for me by adding a jacket in a style that is out of the box for me but made me feel beautiful! For her to be the only manager in the store, I never felt rushed or like she was multitasking. I can totally see why she is the manager! Very knowledgeable, personable, and great at this. This review is mainly to commend the AWESOME associate CASSANDRA B for her fabulous work in July 2014 helping me attempt to find a wedding dress THE DAY BEFORE my wedding after I found out my original one, purchased elsewhere had a snag. I was in a huge frenzy and was NOT the best customer, but she handled the situation with grace and patience, presenting many options and really helping to calm my mind. They had some really nice selections, but they didn't work for my size (tall and very slender with not the hugest of bustlines) but I'm sure if I went there in advance that would have been different. I went in to try on a bridesmaid dress for my friend's wedding and also to try on potential bridesmaid dresses for my own bridesmaids. I made an appointment in advance, but there was a huge snow storm coming so they called me to move my appointment. I figured with the snow coming it would be very rushed but everyone was soooo patient. Kay was amazing and not only helped with pulling dresses and taking picture of me in them, but also had a lot of great advice for me regarding the colors, styles, fit, etc. It was a great experience. I went to the Bowie location to exchange a bridal dress that had been purchased at the Rockville location and look at alternative dresses. Wow! What an incredible experience! At the Bowie location, I was greeted by the manager Jocqulyn who was able to pair me with a consultant Chanel Skinner who was absolutely fantastic!! She was highly skilled, attentive, patient, and encouraging. I also met with the Maty who was very nice and made sure the measurements were correct for my dress. I went yesterday to try on dresses for the first time. My appointment was at 11 and my first consultant really rushed me through the process. Like I said this was my first time trying on dresses so I wasn't quite sure what I wanted. I was pretty upset and we were getting ready to leave when the manager Jocqulyn took over. She was awesome! Last October I had visited this location to find my dream dress for my wedding. I brought a few people with me and was super excited my day had finally come. This excitement quickly turned to frustration. I don't know if it was because of maybe a short staff problem or the people that were working problem but I was beyond frustrated. From the moment we walked in we were told we had an associate named Maria. Well Maria also had another person she was helping which kind of upset me because I thought I was going to get one on one attention and help. So whatever, let it go. Well mid appointment, I step into a dress and Maria disappears. My step mom had to help me change out of dresses, put new ones on, find belts and veils. She comes over, 30 minutes later wondering how I felt about all the dresses. I was explaining to her how I felt and looking for help and she just left again. So never did anything about it, just let it go. Well the other day I came here for a friend that was getting married and we had Maria again. Again, she had another appointment. So we grab the dresses she liked, go to try them on, and SHE DISAPPEARS AGAIN. I literally had to dress my friend in these dresses, grab belts and veils for her while Maria was literally no where to be found. Then she comes back basically rushing us wanting my friend to put on the dress she was getting when my friend was stuck between 2 since she could only try on 5 due to covid. My friend said she wasn't sure and was going to try them on again. My friend comes back out and Maria is like "Oh is this the one"? We were like no, we're trying them on again to see the pros and cons. Literally frustrated us to the max. So we come back to pick up her dress and pick out the bridesmaids dresses and we had a lady named Kenya who was AMAZING!!! she actually cared about us and gave us all of her attention. A friend had an appointment to try on wedding gowns. When first entering the store, the atmosphere didn't seem to friendly, the manager (I believe) seemed a little disheveled, but told us that someone would be with us shortly. The consultant Jan, came over and spoke with the bride. She looked at her pictures and took us to the seating area while she and the bride located dresses. The returned to the fitting rooms where Jan assisted the bride with her dresses. Jan was excellent. If I could give her 5 stars she would have them. The bride had about 8 dresses that she tried on and Jan was there to assist and accommodate with each dress, as well as veils and accessories. She was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Maybe she is the best consultant in the store, because at least three times during our appointment, other people (store associates) came over and tried to "steal" Jan from us. I'm not sure about the appointment scheduling, but if a consultant is actively helping a bride, I don't think that she should be rudely pulled away or asked to leave. As she was writing up the invoice for the dress, the manager came over again and asked if she was done so that she could help another customer who was in "A Ms Bowie pageant" or some type of event where she was "The one". Everyone who walks in your shop should be "The one". Please not that you only received 3 stars because of Jan. read more

Worst place ever. Poor customer service, doesn't matter how much you spend. Puchased my gown at David's Bridal Bowie, the rep was Sandy. The gown required some minor repairs, some areas needed to be re-tucked and the gown steamed. When I went to pick up the gown several of the areas were not tucked and the gown not properly cleaned. Spoke to a manager, who had me wait about an hour, still when they brought the gown to me it was still not complete, had to wait another 20 or more mins. The customer service was terrible. The Rep who sold me the gown showed no interest in having the problems solved. This gown was not a $99.00 gown and I was very discourged and hurt that the almost ruined my experience as a bride. The gown itself fitted perfectly and I was a beautiful bride. Caution to other brides in and around Bowie..Donot go to David's Bridal in Bowie, maybe services in Rockville or Virginia will be better. I booked an appointment for today, July 21st 2017-friday, then I had an emergency repair in my home I went ahead to call to communicate with staff at David's Bridal that I wasn't sure when I would be able to make it for my appointment I have called several times way before my scheduled appointment today, and the phone just kept ringing and then the phone turns off, and no body bothered to answer the telephone, when I was finally chanced to call and finally someone finally answered the phone I was given a NOT so pleasant customer service response I then drove over to see if I could even try on, one dress I was told I would not not given any assistance at all upon my arrival I did not see any one trying one dresses at the time there appeared to be 5 minutes available for me to try on even one dress I thought there are tools called service recovery David's bridal Bowie, MD failed to have staff to answer there telephones for emergencies like the one i had but the staff the spoke to me as i walked in didn't even walk within 3 feet of me to speak but was speaking loudly from the cash register I came back hours later to see if I would be given any further assistance The person helping me came back only once to see if I needed any help and then when we were ready to purchase the dress that i tried on there was no one in plain sight to be of any assistance so, I decided to go home as I left no one came to ask, are you satisfied with what you have seen? and no one came to ask do you want to try on another dress? I try to avoid Daivd's Bridal due to past experience but found myself in the position of having to go there to get measured for my dress to call into another state. I'm completely aware that people need to pay to get measured, which is fine and to be expected. I walked in and asked about it and she was almost willing to work with me until she realized that I was not purchasing my dress from them. She just pointed her finger at the door and told me to go somewhere else because they don't do that there. Wow. Okay How do I start with this place? Hmm my situation started with this store back in March when I came to look for my wedding dress for my upcoming nuptials in September. The first day I came I found the dress I wanted. This was a Saturday morning. I won't say no names but employee A helped me and when I called back Monday morning to confirm the dress I found out that I had NOTHING in my chart-_- . Immediately I got a manager on the phone she says "sorry employee A fell sick and went home early" can you please come back in and find the dress again? -_- I said okay things happen. I come back in to confirm my dress and the 4 extra inches that I needed because I am tall. Employee A told me that was FREE and that my dress would arrive early June. When I came in Manager A says NOOOOO that cost $50 extra. -_- I said ok no problem and paid it. So then Manager A tells me I can track my dress at anytime. 1 month later I call to "track" my dress they said there is no way to do that. -_- so then the next week I go in to just check on my dress and least make sure it's in transit and to make sure my 4 extra inches I paid for was ADDED. I come in and employee B says oh we don't add extra inches to dresses -_-. I immediately call a manager and the manager says oh she's a seasonal employee she doesn't know. -_- UHMM SO TRAIN ALL YOU EMPLOYEES I don't get it. So still remaining calm she tells me my dress is in transit. I call 2 weeks later which is now the end of May since they told me my dress would arrive two weeks later(early June) Manager B tells me my dress has an expected delivery date of AUGUST 10 -_-. Oh here we go againnnnnnnn!! Two months after the original date. So we a lot of talking and get no where do so I leave. At this point the whole store knows me. Okay now fast forward to First week in July still no dress. I get a voicemail from David's Bridal alterations saying "my dress has arrived" I was ecstatic and took off work that Thursday to go try on my dress btw I TOOK OFF WORK. I get there with my mother only for them to say they don't know who called but my dress isn't there -_-. So I immediately go to the front to manager B and PLAY THE VOICEMAIL for her on SPEAKER for every employee to hear no one knows who it was (LIES). So at this point with the natural stress of planning a wedding Immediately start crying. My mom had to call my fiancé to calm me down. I really had to stop him from coming in that store. He hates bad customer service. So they never get to the bottom of who calls me and she says okay she will reach out to the regional manager by email for her to call me (never happened). Three weeks later I get another call that my dress has arrived. I ensure employee C to physically go check and see if my dress is there and she says yes so I go in. MIND YOU Manager B told me I would be compensated in regards to any alterations that I may have. So then I end of needing alterations like most brides. Then alterations takes my slip to the manager B and she says she never told me she would not charge me for that. (LIE) so she called the regional manager which not really the regional manager she was a manager who moved from Bowie David bridal to silver spring and that lady says she will have the regional manager contact me in 24 hours. They call me at the 23rd hour and it's manager C from silver spring again. -_- like why am I talking to you???!! She says the call came to her. Mind you this lady is Manager A from earlier because she use to work at the Bowie location before moving to silver spring. So somehow she finds a way to take off money from the alterations and for the record I NEVER SPOKE TO THE REGIONAL MANAGER. Now it is August 20 and I JUST BROUGHT MY DRESS HOME. If you make a appointment at this location, try and get Kyra, she gets all the stars! She's so amazing, and helpful, and so relatable. She understood that not everyone is built the same or a size 4. The Bowie location is the best one I went to; Clean, friendly and professional. Honestly the 4 starts are only because the plus size selection of styles is limited. Which is not the staffs fault by any means. Kyra pulled every dress in the store that was in my size, totaled about 20 dresses. She had me in and out of every single dress in my allotted appointment time. She even let me pick dresses, which I had not been aloud to do before. My girl moves and is on a mission! I did not buy a dress from David's but was very pleased with my experience, and after my atrocious experience with the Glenn Burnie store, I was relieved that not all stores are that awful. Our experience with Gwen was nothing short of a blessing! After looking for dresses at different David's Bridals in the area including Bowie. We have never had an experience like we did with Gwen. She allowed us to be in the moment and present. As well as making sure we looked our absolute best and comfortable. I was so impressed with the service I received today at David's Bridal in Bowie. I was shopping for my daughter who is preparing for a cotillion. The hostess referred me to Reshima who was absolutely fabulous. We started our conversation on what my daughter needed and we learned that the store did not carry the required color. She understood that I wanted to get a feel for sizing, and she proceeded to provide me with outstanding service even though she knew I would not be making a purchase. I had a phenomenal experience yesterday at David's Bridal in Bowie! This was my very first wedding dress outing, and I expected to try on the styles I liked and get a feel for what worked and what I wanted to see more of. My stylist was Gwen and she was simply amazing- very caring and in tune to my style but also highly professional. The whole experience was fun not only for me but my mom, grandma and future mother in law! Gwen understood my style and picked an Oleg Cassini that looked stunning on the hanger. It was the first one I tried and I knew when my mom, grandma and future mother in law all teared up that this could be the one. I tried about seven or eight more gowns in different styles to get the full experience but I just kept going to the first one I tried on. I knew that this was the one. Gwen made the process so easy and enjoyable and I highly recommend requesting an appointment with her if you go! read more

Had a 6pm appointment for a mother of the groom dress. Tiffany was called to come help us and my daughter and I went to look at dresses. Found a few, went back to the front to find Tiffany who never came so we were taken to a fitting room. Tiffany was literally 20 feet across from us helping a bride - so we told the person we were fine. Tiffany, knowing we were there, never even came over to acknowledge us. I had no intention of taking her away from an appointment with a bride that took longer than planned, but a "hello" would have been nice, and an explanation that even though we made an appointment, she was running late. Anything. I am able to try on dresses myself, but if you have people making an appointment as the store requests, then at least if you can't accommodate at the last minute, say something/acknowledge the customer, etc. It's basic customer service. read more

I received a call today from Gene about an order. When I called back I got Pamela {Manager} on the line and she stated I was being called about a special order. I have to say my event was Feb. 28th and this is now April 7th. I expressed to her that this was NOT a good look for the store to call me over a month after my event to say I have merchandise in the store. I asked her why the call and what was I to do with it at this point. She basically dismissed me and said: Thank you for calling back. I am sure this was something that we had to pay for so no mention of reimbursement or no way to reconcile the situation. I had been in the store at least 2 days a week up until my event and even a few days after to take care of a few things. No one had even mentioned the item was in the store. To my knowledge the store has new managers and I must say they're starting off in the wrong way. It's PROM season and I have about 10 girls lined up to come out to the store and find dresses. This is the WORST place I have ever been. I went to try on dresses at least twice when I knew there weren't going to be a million people and the customer service was still terrible. There was no one else in the store and the girl handed me a book and told me to mark what I wanted. She got the dresses I wanted and walked away, only to come back when I was ready to walk out. I've been here multiple times with other people trying on wedding dresses. I did have a positive experience with bridesmaid dress shopping on a busy Saturday morning, but that was all due to the wonderful consultant we had. If you are a bride on a budget, don't count out the independent boutiques. Most of them will work with you based on what you can afford. Just STAY AWAY FROM DAVID'S BRIDAL because it will ruin the wedding dress shopping experience for you! read more

Never again! The only redeeming quality about this shop was Stephanie. I looked at gowns at this shop twice and she was my consultant both times and was wonderful. Every experience since then has been horrible. My bridesmaids and I were in the shop in January looking for dresses for them. After a problem scheduling the time I requested for our appointment I was told to be sure I was there on time. We were 5 minutes early, checked in, and weren't approached by our consultant for another 20 minutes. Then we spent the entire appointment wondering where she was, while I, the bride, ran back and forth getting dresses. It wasn't until Stephanie noticed us looking for our consultant that anyone paid us any attention. When we went to the front desk to talk to someone about possibly ordering dresses and asked how long before the wedding we should order, we were told "a few weeks, maybe 6 or 7". Yesterday I went to the Glen Burnie store with my fiancé and his daughter and ordered her dress. AFTER we paid and were told "all sales are final" we were given our "expected" date- Oct 15........10 days before my wedding! When I asked why the long wait, I was told that the color we were ordering "isn't a popular color" so it would have to be made to order and that generally takes 12 weeks. Add another 4 weeks for alterations and we're looking at a date AFTER my wedding. Needless to say, I was crushed. A manager, Carol, came to help and was great, even bearing bad news. She promised the dress will be on the 15th and we can put a rush on alterations to get it back before the 25th, but that costs extra and we would need to order everyone else's dresses within 2 days to guarantee they'd be in on time, and we could only pick from 2 styles. With bridesmaids unavailable over the next 2 days, and one 4 months pregnant, that just can't happen. I decided to ditch the idea of going to David's at all, but my sister wanted to check them out to see if she could find something in another color, so we went back to the Bowie store because it's closer to us. Again, our consultant was friendly, but disappeared after we pulled our own dresses. She didn't surface again until we were done trying them on. We told her we wanted to look at other dresses elsewhere but would likely be ordering this one and she told us we had to order it today in order to get it in on time. So, after looking around, I called a few minutes ago to order....and was promptly put on hold for 10 minutes. Enough!!!! I decided to call the Glen Burnie shop again, and was helped quite promptly. If it weren't for my sister loving that dress, I'd be totally done with this chain all together and, as it is, I'll have to drive back to the GB store to pick the dress up because it can't be shipped to my sister's house as Bowie promised. Another "miscommunication" by the Bowie shop. The moral of this story? I'll be returning my fiancé's daughter's dress and buying her something else at another store that is in no way affiliated with David's Bridal, and I will warn everyone I know to steer clear of this entire chain unless they want terrible service, run-around answers, and headache after headache. It makes me sick that I spent any of my money with David's, and I can only hope that sweet Stephanie, if she ever sees this, can find herself a job at a REAL bridal boutique where customer service actually stands for something. read more
