I came here in my quest for a wedding gown and had a wonderful experience with Johnnese. I came in with a list of dresses I wanted to try on, and the process was quite painless, and fruitful! I wasn't pressured into buying extra things--they'll offer, but if you say no that's fine! Johnnese was very sweet and interested in what my tastes were. Now I'm getting my dream dress (the Vera Wang collection is awesome), and couldn't be happier. What helps is for you to realize that it is a super busy chain store, and especially if you come in on a weekend it will be chaotic and appointments may run late (I do recommend making an appointment). You also have to realize that it's not going to be super private and pretty like a fancy salon, but you get the opportunity to not spend a fortune on a beautiful dress. I do not typically write reviews for Yelp, but the excellent service I received yesterday at the David's Bridal in Bowie compels me to share my experience. To make a long story short, I am getting married in the fall, and 4 of my 7 bridesmaids had ordered the dress I chose several months ago. When the remaining 3 went to order theirs, the dress was out of stock, and would not be available until after my wedding. Manager Jocelyn went above and beyond, and really saved the day. She was extremely well versed in DB's policies, and offered us several solutions. She stayed nearly an hour past her shift to wait for me (as I was coming from work in D.C.), and already had all of the long dresses that would be available in my color and would arrive in time for my wedding. We were able to quickly settle on a new dress choice because she had already taken care of accommodating everything I needed (timeline, color, length, and 7 different sizes). She then quickly and efficiently helped me get the 7 new dresses ordered and dealt with all of the nuances of having a group of bridesmaids that were not local to her store. And through all of this, she was so, so, so kind. I have been to DB many times as a bridesmaid, and have generally received good service, but I have never experienced anything like this. Today I returned to David's Bridal to purchase shoes. When I came the first time I was greeted by everyone in the store. Today, I wasn't acknowledged by one single person and I was in the store a good hour from area to area as I was also looking for another dress and ready to purchase. This has changed my perception of DB, this isn't for the better. I saw them all over the other guests... Today I felt invisible. So glad I made my large purchase at the other location in Waldorf, every time I go into that store, their customer service is consistent and they are always ready to help. I've sent a great deal of business to both locations due to service received previously. Note: A customer even acknowledged that she noticed I'd been waiting after finishing with their associate. Their associate didn't acknowledge me at all and told someone else to come over and help me. When asked who helped me, I gave her a bold NO ONE to let her hear my disappointment in the DB Brand in that moment. read more

I needed a formal dress for a black tie event that I had just found out about at the last minute, and was scrambling to find a place where I could get a dress at a reasonable price. I had already tried Nordstrom Rack and a few other places, to no avail. My daughter suggested David's Bridal, which never would have occurred to me, as I only thought of them for weddings. So I took off on my lunch break and thought I'd check them out. The selection was OK, not great, but they did have several dresses in my size and price range. The young lady who assisted me was very helpful, going off in search of more dresses that may not be on the rack with the others, and offering her opinions on which ones looked good and which weren't for me. In the end, I found a dress that was suitable and was a little more than I'd wanted to pay but not too outrageous. It wasn't my ideal dress, but it worked, and given the short timeframe I had to work with, it was OK. read more

I am a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding! At first coming to David's bridal I thought oh no , this is gonna be the worse experience. . There's no one in here that my sister can relate to here. So We get to counter and the young lady calls up "Kay" to the front to help us. Right off the back, she had energy, she was extremely exciting and all around helpful. Now my best friend is not a size two by no stretch of the imagination, and at first I thought Kay was gonna have problems finding a dress for our girl. The very first dress she picked was absolutely gorgeous I mean breath taking and I knew it was the one (I cried alil bit). We tried on different at least 4 different dresses and none of the dresses caught my attention as much as the first one. Even at one point my sister tried a dress on and Ms Kay said no, I don't like it lol, which we all agreed! After we picked the dress, we found the perfect veil and omg ... it was a true tear jerking moment. WE FOUND THE DRESS !!! My sister looked so beautiful and breath taking! The experience was the greatest one I ever experienced at David's bridal. Kay Snyder's expertise was not only professional, but it was like she was one of my very best friends. We laughed together, cried together, and had a ALL AROUND GREAT TIME. If you want someone who is excited and friendly, but at the same time honest and works with you and your body to find the perfect dress. Ms. Kay Snyder is the greatest!!! Made an appointment a week early to try on a couple bridesmaid dresses the rest of the bridal party agreed on out of state. They all tried them on and gave me the two dress numbers, so days before my appointment, I called to verify that the store had both dresses in my desired sizes. I was told yes they did have both dresses in the color and sizes I wanted to try, so I was excited to go try them. When I arrived early for my appointment, I was greeted (semi un-welcomingly) by someone who was going to help with my appointment. After the odd greeting, I was barely excited by my experience and just wanted to try on the dresses so I could go on about my day. The lady pulled one of the dresses in a different color and one size for me to try and said she had to look for the other dress. Of course, she comes back empty handed and insisted that the other dress is only sold online not stores. I knew that was not true, because as I said at the beginning, the rest of the bridial party tried it on IN STORES, and I had pics to prove it. Her story then changed to maybe some stores get test dresses and others don't.. I'm like okay BUT my bigger issue is that whoever I talked to earlier in the week said BOTH DRESSES, were in stock in my color and both sizes to try... so the two peoples stories are conflicted and I feel lied to twice at this point. The lady helping me said she's not sure why someone said that because the dress is online only.. I'm like okay I get that but obviously it's not online only when I have pics of 5 other girls trying it on in store at another location. I was then advised to just order them online because I had 10 days to return them. I'm thinking in my head, who can afford to buy two dresses (in hopes that one of the sizes will fit) and pay to ship them back if they don't fit then wait to get their money back! The dresses are $200 each and I'm suppose to guess which one will fit and hope I have good luck or buy both? Absolutely not! I would've been more receptive to that idea if the store that kept lying to me said "for all of the confusion (on our end) we'll order the dresses for you" since if I don't want them, they can resale them anyway... or something along those lines so I, the customer, would feel better about the situation after driving 20 miles to the store for nothing. I will not be patronizing this store ever again! Go to another location and hopefully you'll get better service and attitudes! read more

This David's Bridal was 100% better than the one in Waldorf. The consultant gave my sister her undivided attention and seemed to sincerely care about our business. They made almost a $1000 off of us which the one in Waldorf lost bc of their rudeness and uncaring attitudes. Update... Now I'm looking for a wedding dress. I went in the other day to try on dresses and the consultant said that the two I want won't arrive until December (wedding is November) and said I have to buy the ones on the sales floor if I want that style. Forget that.. why would I buy a dress that's been tried on and handled over and over when I can buy it brand new online. I went online to their website and the dress ended up being $250 cheaper and the dress arrived in five days to my front door!!! You all should learn that most brides do their research. read more

My bridal appointment today was with Kim. I can't say enough about how she was so patient with me and took the time to help me find not only any dress but, the one that I really loved. Our session went a little over but, in the end with her guidance and assistance, we found the perfect dress for the special day. Her patience and wonderful customer service went above and beyond to assist me. With her personality, I feel blessed that she was assigned to work with me. Following us finding the dress, Kim helped me with booking an appointment in advance for my alterations since my wedding is coming up in a couple of months and timing will be of the essence as we get closer. I appreciated all of her forward thinking and working with her and can't recommend her enough! Also, the rest of the staff there were very helpful as well. I made, what I assumed, was an appointment online for alterations to my wedding gown, I did not know you would need to call to specifically make and appointment with the Alterations Department....I found that out the hard way when I walked in. Thankfully, the ladies in Alterations were extremely accommodating. I went on Saturday, which is one of the busiest days at the store, but Fariba was so kind and explained that she would squeeze me in as soon as possible. After waiting about 20 mins, she took me back and answered all my questions and was so kind and understanding. My alternations are going to make my dress fit like a glove. I'll start from the beginning.. I recently moved to this state and I didn't have anyone to go dress shopping with. My cousin is getting married in December and I needed a black bridesmaids dress, it was the middle of October and I still didn't have one. I called David's bridal (three separate ones) and finally I called Bowie MD. The woman that answered the phone was so pleasant, so helpful, so informative. She could not provide the item I was looking for but because she showed so much care and concern and went above and beyond (for almost 20 minutes) to help me search and find something similar, it made me feel so much better. She told me to come in the next day and try on any of the black dresses they had. I walked in, without an appointment, and let me just say Pamela was outstanding the moment I walked through the door. She took her time with me. She listened to what I said, meaning when I told her I didn't want strapless because of my shoulders she just knew which direction to head and how to find the perfect dress for my shape. She handed me five dresses. I tried them all on and FaceTimed my cousin like "I don't like these." I'm not sure Pamela heard me but 5 mins later there was a knock, "I found another dress you might like.. I know it will look great.. I think this is the one" I came out of the fitting room, looked at the dress and told my cousin "I don't think this is gonna work either". I was getting so worried. Pamela said just try it. I have a good feeling. I went in, tried the dress on, and fell in love. It was beautiful. And it fit perfectly. Pamela zipped me up. I scheduled an alteration with Tanvir (I'm a little short) who was also extremely helpful and then Pamela rang me up. I asked about a coupon I had on my phone but she mentioned the dress was on sale so I wouldn't be able to use it. The tag said 179. I thought to myself oh okay it's on sale for 179. The total came out to 73 and change after tax. I almost cried. I was so happy and the entire time Pamela made me feel so comfortable and almost as if I had my cousin or best friend with me. She went above and beyond. She understood me. She spent time finding something she thought I would like and she was right. She encouraged me to get alterations and made the booking super easy. The way the staff communicated with each other was almost like no other. The day of the alterations I was a little disappointed because Tanvir wasn't working. But this gentleman, and I am terribly sorry because I don't remember his name but I will write again when I go pick up my dress to make sure he gets his credit as well, was incredible. He was so funny and made the experience enjoyable. He rang me up and insisted I would have my dress in time. I saw Pamela again and thanked her for her service. I could go on but I think I wrote enough. Bottom line, I was extremely pleased with the customer service I received from This David's bridal. From the first phone call all the way down to the last transaction and I will most definitely be returning for all future occasions and referring my companions as well to this location. Tiffany B was our stylist for the day. we had went last Saturday to David's Bridal in Glen Burnie,MD and had a horrible experience (our first time dress shopping ever at that). I was skeptical at first to go back to a davids bridal but when we went to David's Bridal in Bowie,MD and met our stylist Tiffany B everything had changed. she was so friendly, positive, and professional. she listened to everything that was said and really hit it on the spot. Worst experience trying on dresses. I was assigned a consultant who wandered off and started pulling dresses for me to try on. Since I didn't get to look through the stock, I sat and waited for her to come back with 3 dresses. I was upset with the lack of quality in the dresses that were $1000. After getting into the last dress, I was left to talk things over with my bridesmaids. She did not come back after 15 minutes. No idea where she went off to, I asked my sister to help me out of the dress I was left in. I hung it up and walked to the front of the store to leave. The girl who has assisting me was standing at the front and asked me if I wanted to put a dress on my wishlist. I left and went back to the second hand shop I was at previously and bought a Christina Wu dress for $450. Much better quality than anything in this store. Go elsewhere! read more

I went to David's Bridal in Bowie over the weekend to try on dresses for my wedding next year. My sister made the appt for 130 but since there were more customers than associates I had to wait a while, which was expected on a Saturday! I used that time to take my daughter around to see if she liked any of the flower girl dresses. I was then approached by Dasha who PREVOUSLY was a bridal consultant but is now working another area of the store. She took it upon herself to assist the consultant who was to help me by getting me started with my room and undergarments (bra and skirt). She even gave my maid of honor a lesson in putting the dress on and the stages of how a bride is to get dressed. She was nothing short of AMAZING! Although the original consultant tried to help me after a few dresses in...I was perfectly happy with Dasha! She did not pressure me one bit! She did not rush me. She was honest, patient and very detailed. She did not have clips so she held the dress to it's shape...tired many veils and cages...jewelry, shoes...she was just PERFECT! Although she is not a consultant anymore, I recommend her services....but not for Bridezillas, because NO ONE has time for that! I plan to go back in 2 weeks to make my final decision (as she suggested since I was not sure...another reason she's amazing!) and I will be making my appointment with her. read more

I went into DB in Bowie, MD today and fell in love. Tiffany is the best!! Mind you, I haven't had my appointment yet and I am already sending a review. She made me feel comfortable from the start which is a plus for me during such a stressful time. Her and her manager Jocqulyn are amazing. Thank you Davids Bridal and Joycelyn for help making my daughters prom a total success! !! Jocelyn is great! She assisited us every step of the way and that was 4 months of indecision and mayhem. We flipped flopped so many times, she even gave us recommendations on different locations to look for dresses, while we had 2 different dresses on layaway, and finally decided on the 2nd one. She helped us with obtaining coupons and told us when special discount events were coming and peronally told us to ask for her. She is truely a gem! Overall the staff was curtius and efficient. We really felt at home on our numerous visits.We live in Bowie and searched all over the tristate area for the perfect dress, but It just goes to show sometimes what your looking for is in your own backyard. Almost everything about my experience was frustrating. My best friend scheduled an appointment for me to try on dresses and the sales lady was the most low energy apathetic person one could expect given her profession. My friends felt the need to be overly excited to balance out her indifference. She convinced me I need to buy a torsolette, the smallest size. She did make a list of the items I had expressed interest in, which was in fact helpful. She told me the dress was on clearance and encouraged me to purchase it soon or I might lose my chance. About a week later, I called and placed the order over the phone. I asked to speak to alterations department to determine what size to get because the sales lady told me I could go with a 0 or a 2. There were language barriers with the woman from alterations so she was answering questions I wasn't asking so I gave up and made the choice on my own. I ordered my dress, a slip, and a torsolette as recommended by the original sales lady. I made the order over the phone and did not know "All sales are final" until they mailed me the receipt (that I never signed.) I receive an email saying my order was in and I went to pick up my things. When I arrived they said the torsolette and slip weren't there yet, just the dress. They brought me a slip and torsolette to use while trying it on. The dress I had originally tried on was a size 6. This dress was a size 0. I could barely breathe in it. The girl we worked with kept having to go to another staff member and ask questions because she clearly didn't know what she was doing. After trying on different sized torsolettes, nothing was working. With the help of an additional sales lady, we determined the torsolette wasn't a good option. She told me I could get cups sewn into the dress which I wish the original lady had suggested. I express that I want to cancel the order for the torsolette (that I haven't received yet) and I'm told all sales are final. Although no one told me this over the phone when I ordered nor did I sign your receipt with the fine print stating that. So I'm told my only option is to find $80 worth of other merchandise to buy to exchange for the torsolette I only bought because an employee told me to. The sales people I'm working with keep telling me that only a manager can make that decision, but they make no effort to ask a manager. So then I spend another 30 minutes trying to find random things to buy in order to make this exchange. What was intended to be this beautiful moment to share with my dad. As we drove out 45 minutes to go together, ended up just being this tedious and frustrating process. read more

Our experience was first rate. Our salesperson, Pat, was knowledgeable, respectful of our budget and tastes, and very accommodating. On our follow-up visit to purchase a slip, she even hunted up a clearance item that was perfect. We were told we could pick the dress up in six weeks, well within our time frame, but the dress actually came just three weeks after purchase! read more

While I had a great experience buying my dress at David's, the alterations were a different story. The seamstress insisted that my dress be taken in 1/4", even though I voiced that I thought it fit perfectly. I mistakenly let her take it in anyways. My dress also needed hemming. At the appt, I explained that I wanted the lace at the bottom of my dress to be moved up, so as to not cut off this signature part of the dress. When I picked up my dress, I was deeply disappointed; my dress was now too tight, and when I asked if it could be let out again, I was told no, as she had completely cut off the 1/4" that "needed" to be taken in. I was told that I would need to suck it in and use double-stick tape instead. As someone who has had body image issues in the past, this was hurtful. I also was disappointed with the hemming, as the lace pattern had been cut off and not replaced. My dress is now ruined and I will either have to not have my dream dress or buy a completely new one. Had it not been for the wonderful customer service I received when buying my dress, I would be giving one or zero stars if I could! read more

Bowie, MD store (#198) I booked an appointment for today, February 12,2017 at 2pm to go over Bridesmaids dresses for my wedding party. I have many questions and wanted someone to be available to answer them as I know it is a weekend and the store is busy. I check in with the desk at 2 pm. I then waited over 25 minutes before touching base with the staff on the status of my appointment only she never returned to give me an update. After then waiting a total of 45 minutes the receptionist told me my appointment was not doable because I would not be trying on dresses. I proceeded to then ask her my questions regarding the styles I was interested in and she did not answer any of them but insisted I was going about things the wrong way and that help would be available if I had questions. I left the store after waiting 45 minutes with more frustrations and questions. I bought my wedding dress from Davids bridal because of the good experience I had and wanted the reliability of a national store for my bridesmaids to choose their dresses from. The lack of service and manor that my appointment was handled is unacceptable. I was even willing to reschedule to a time that was less busy but the receptionist would hear me. read more

Hear me clearly when I say this, I know some people and institutions question the legitimacy of people's reviews BUT this is one of those places that's rated 2 stars for a reason! I stopped in here one random week day (so they weren't busy) because a fellow engaged friend had never tried on bridal gowns before. I hadn't either and didn't really want to go to David's Bridal--dubbed the Wal-Mart of Bridals--but since they are in my price range, I decided it might be worth at least a try. I'm in the wedding industry and knew somewhat of what to expect from a bridal gown experience. First, the sales person is going to ask what you're looking for, your wedding theme, and dress size. She went through that with both of us and suggested we tried things on one at a time so that we could see one another's picks. My friend went first. And I helped her describe to the lady what she wanted in a dress. The lady went and picked out some things. The sales lady then helped my friend put on the proper wedding undergarments in the dressing room and then got her into a dress. By the second dress (sales lady's pick), my friend was in tears. She had found the ONE that made her feel like a bride. The sales lady was very nurturing and mothering in those moments & I appreciated all of this for my friend. If I hadn't seen it for my own eyes, I would have thought the crying in a dress thing was impossible at Davids Bridal. The experience was great up to this point so I began to think maybe David's Bridal is not all that bad afterall. BUT, then it was my turn. My dissatisfaction with this company comes down to really simple things. (1)The sales lady did not bring me what I wanted and (2) I was pressure sold after bad service. The Trying On: (1) I had a very good idea of what kind of dress I wanted. However, I just didn't feel like a bride yet. I figured that's where the consultant would come in helping me try on a lot of different dresses until I found something that made me feel like a woman getting married. And the lady pulled many many dresses for me. However, if the sales associate pulled 9 dresses, 8 did not even fit. In her defense, I'm pear shaped so my hips are one size and the bust is another. But I explained all of that to her. So for the first couple of dresses, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. She doesn't know my body, I told myself, she just knows the size I gave her in the beginning (12/14). But she continually brought me dresses that were 12/14 and they continued not to fit. Now call me crazy, but I thought bridal dresses ran 2 sizes small which means that if I tell you 12/14 you'd be trying to find a 16/18 right? I'm pretty sure SHE actually explained that to US. And yet she still kept bringing me size 12/14 or under dresses and they weren't fitting (duh!). I didn't understand this method. Maybe if she were pinning the small dresses in the back to try and give me an idea of how it looks until it can be ordered in my size. But that never happened either so I didn't see why she didn't just go bigger if there were more gowns to choose from in the bigger sizes. She didn't seem to have any problems finding dresses for my friend (who is also plus size). So it's just really frustrating when you come to try on dresses and you can't do the basic thing, which is TRY ON the dresses. (2) Not only did the dresses not fit but I also let the sales associate know that I wanted sleeves/straps bc I was going for a vintage look and wasn't a fan of strapless gowns. Only one of the dresses she pulled for me had straps though and none had sleeves . Why would you bring a lot of strapless gowns to a person who specifically asked for sleeves? So even if the dresses DID fit, I probably didn't want one because it didn't have sleeves like I ASKED for. The Aftermath: To top everything off, she made me feel cheap like it was all about the sale! I ended up seeing myself in only 1 dress. It was the only dress she pulled that I fit into and wasn't strapless. So she tried to sell me on that 1 dress that I didn't have any particular emotional reaction to. I only kind of liked this dress and instead of her saying "Oh okay. Now we're getting closer to what she's looking for. Let's find more!" she began pressure selling me on the only dress I managed to get on because of her size incompetence -__- She took plenty of time explaining to me that I could even buy the dress now and get it on a credit card. But didn't spend any time or thought on how I could actually find a dress worth buying. Gee thanx. David's Bridal, you have to do better! This is a wedding your customers are preparing for! Most brides only get one of these. And it is a time to be cherished in a bride's life. Most people in the wedding industry seem to know this and even capitalize on this. David's Bridal clearly doesn't care. As a customer here, you are one of many so they don't feel the need to get it right for you. read more

I have a special event that I am attending on July, 19,2014, I made an appointment for this past Friday. The staff/team member decided that she was going to help myself and another customer at the same time. Well I guess since my event was not a wedding she chose to give her attention to the further Bride and once I had (on my own) zipped up the dress that I choose she proceeded to tell me that because the date of my event was 28 days away I would have to pay for a rush alteration. The young lady never gave me any information on the buying process. I would not recommend this store to anyone. read more

So, as a bridesmaid, you are bound by the bride's wishes. Enter David's Bridal. I chose a dress (tried on 4 styles) and they only had certain sizes. My top pick had a size 12 in the store, which seemed to fit, if a bit big. I asked if I should try a size 10, they said no. When I went to order the 12, they said they had every other size available but no 12. I asked if I could purchase a 10 and a 14 and return one. They said no, I should get the 14 and get it taken in. I asked how much that would cost and they said alterations started at $35. Size 14 comes in and to take it in is $120!! The dress itself was $149! So I scour the store and lo and behold, they have a 10 and it fits perfectly! But now they can't get that size and I am left holding the bag on a now $270 dress that I will only wear once. I asked if they would at least split the alterations with me, since they DID have a 10 in the store and I wasn't helped properly, not to mention that everybody told me not to bother, it wouldn't fit. No go. Honestly, they know they have you by the cajones and it shows. I would NEVER choose this store to use...I chose a small boutique and went to the sale rack. Let your poor girls choose a dress that may ever use again. And if you do need a different DB, I wouldn't suggest this one--I guess I am used to better customer service, but as I said, they hold the cards and they know it. read more

My best friend had an appointment today to try on wedding dresses for the first time (a big deal!!) we got Justin as our consultant,he was awful !! Brought us dresses not even close to what the bride was showing him pictures of. When I went and go a bridal book to help him out with more what we had in mind he got even worse ...in some of the pictures of her he is in the background looking at his watch. He just treated her family and I like a huge inconvenience and rushed us through the appointment. Decent selection. TERRIBLE customer service. Was there today for a bridesmaid dress and was not helped at all. We had an appointment scheduled for weeks- all the woman (Ivory?) did was open the dressing room door. No suggestions, no asking if we needed other sizes, no nothing. In fact, we probably would've waited all day for her because when we arrived, we were told our stylist "will be right with you" - 15 minutes later she never came. Then we asked what the deal was, she was called over the intercom, then she opened the dressing room and that was it. They were busy- it's Sunday- but then hire sufficient staff. read more

Tried it once tried it twice and still not happy!!! They weren't helpful at all. I made a appt but yet my appt had to be split amongst another customer. When the fitting was over I asked questions about the bridesmaids dress and each time my associate had to go back to another co-worker to ask. Was she new??? Hmmm don't know but if she was then she should have been shadowing instead of working alone. Just overall waste of time. Avoid if you can. I had an atrocious experience with the David's Bridal store in Bowie, MD. My sister made an appt for her wedding party at 12 noon. We showed up right before the store opened, at 12 noon, and there were at least 4 other bridal parties there before us. Why did they allow them to make so many noon appointments? We waited in line for about 20 minutes. Then, once we were processed, we were told to wait for our sales person. She never showed up! After waiting another 25 minutes, finally my sisters and I just went to try on dresses on our own. Another woman, Vanessa, came by to stop us. When I told her our dilemma, she allowed us to start trying on dresses. Thank goodness for that, because it was 12:45 and we had been waiting for 45 minutes!!! This was horrible customer service. Now, the good news is that once we had gotten through all their barriers, we found a dress (on our own) fairly quickly and it was only $99, but I would suggest you go to a different David's Bridal!!! read more

I was the MOH in a friend's wedding and I ordered my dress from the Waldorf, Md store and everything was great... got my dress and was ready for the wedding. A few weeks before the wedding, I tried the dress on and the dress was not fitting in the bust area (oops I guess I gained weight, at least it went to my boobs). So, first off, let me say that the dress not fitting was my fault! This is more of a bad review because of the poor customer service at the Bowie store.... I frantically called the Waldorf store to get my dress in a bigger size - no luck, they didn't have it in stock. I called the Bowie store and talked to Kay, who said that I was in luck and that they had the dress IN THE SIZE/STYLE/COLOR that I wanted in their store and that I should buy it right then and there, over the phone, so that the dress wouldn't get sold to another customer. Per her advice, I bought the dress over the phone.... I went to the store THE NEXT DAY... I found Kay and told her I was there to pick up my dress... she went in the back and was there for awhile, then I heard her call someone in the front saying the dress wasn't in the back. I was freaking out because the wedding was soon and she convinced me to pay over the phone for this dress (no refund policy when you buy in store). Kay had another appointment so she had Kiandra go find my dress... A bit later, Kiandra came to the front carrying the dress in the style/color of what I ordered.. I was so relieved. So, she made me sign this form (basically saying that there's no refund/return/exchange whatsoever) and as I was walking out the store, I realized that Kiandra gave me a dress TWO SIZES TO SMALL! I think that she may have been trying to pull a fast one on me because of Kay's screw up.... For this reason, alone, I will not be going back to this store EVER AGAIN. I will also be telling everyone I know to never have Kay put their Bride/Bridesmaid dress orders into the system for them. I honestly don't know if it was an overlook on Kiandra's part or if she was trying to pull a fast one on me, but I feel like the first thing you do, when giving someone something they ordered over the phone, is check to make sure the style/color/size is correct.... In the end, Kiandra called the DB Warehouse and had them expedite the correct dress (because of error of the store) to the store, so that I could pick it up before the wedding. I'm glad Kiandra was able to do that for me, but I'm still wary on whether she tried pulling a fast one on me from the start. Kay, on the other hand, showed awful customer service... she didn't even stick around to try to correct her screw up. read more

I visited on a busy Saturday and Alex, my dress consultant was great. She helped me with all my request and took great care in really figuring out what I was looking for in a my wedding dress. Even thought this location did not have all the dresses I was looking for, she called the other stores in the area, to locate them for me to try on. When I walked into Davids bridal I had a bad experience as my dress that was ordered came stained and old. I went through the process which Anna assisted in my getting the issue resolved, but still the associate that assisted me lied. My dress came with alteration needs and I paid for but got the worst service which made me cry. Then I met Habeeb, who was able to calm me and took time to fix my dress so well. Habeeb is an asset to the bowei store. I was very happy when I got my dress yesterday. Thank you so much habeeb. read more

I'll have to admit, I was very concerned about going to this location after reading some of the Yelp reviews. When I initially called to make my appointment to try on wedding dresses, I was greeted by a friendly David's staffer. Later, when I received a call from David's to confirm my appointment, the woman I spoke to was not as polite. She caught an attitude when I calmly corrected her mispronunciation of my name. Today, the moment I stepped in the store, I was blown when a particular David's attendant randomly glared at me. It was off-putting and less than hospitable, bringing to mind all of the negative comments I'd read. Thankfully, she was NOT the attendant assigned to me. Instead, I got Sheryl and that made all the difference. The five stars is what I will give Sheryl's level of customer service (one rotten apple does not spoil the bunch). She was kind, knowledgeable, patient, and prompt. Prior to my appointment, I compiled the info on the dresses I was interested in. Sheryl let me know which were available in the store and brought them to me. She also found comparable alternatives to the dresses I had selected online that were not in the store. She was quick to address my concerns and help suggest solutions without overselling. I felt no pressure from her at all. My mom, mother-in-law and bridal party adored her because she was so helpful. I had every intention to purchase my dress today and with Sheryl assistance, I was able to. If she is available when you go, ask for Sheryl. She's great. read more

Extremely disappointing experience. I ordered a Bridesmaid dress through this store, over the phone, because I wasn't able to make it to my friends appt for all her bridesmaids. I called in with my measurements, and told them I wanted to order a size 10, even though the woman on the phone said I should order a 12 because of my bust. I specifically said I didn't want a size 12, because I knew it would be too big , since the rest of my measurements fell between an 8 & 10, but the woman ordered a 12 for me anyway. Now I have a dress that is falling off of me, and required over $60 dollars in alterations. They probably assumed that if they ordered it too big, I'd spend the money there for alterations. That was not the case. Will never shop or recommend Davids Bridal, especially this store read more

I had purchased my bridesmaid dress at a David's Bridal in Indiana with the rest of the bridal party and brought it to the David's Bridal in Bowie to get it altered. Going into it, I knew that I would need significant alterations because not only am I short, but I had gone down at least one whole dress size since purchasing the dress 8 months earlier. I am a Nordstrom's card holder, so had gotten a quote there first, but since they charge double for clothing that's not purchased at Nordstrom's, and one would think that David's Bridal staff had a better understanding of the dresses that they sold, I decided to get a second quote at David's. Hwa did my fitting, and she did very, very well. She had a great eye for detail and an excellent sense for how to make the dress fit me perfectly. It is a one-strap, floor-length dress with a layered skirt that is ruched on one side of the bodice. Very complicated! She had to shorten the skirt, but also significantly shorten the strap so that the entire dress no longer hung low down my back, take it in on both sides of the bodice, and do a running stitch along the top of the bodice. After Hwa did such a great job in the fitting, I was confident in her ability and I walked away excited for the results. I was not disappointed. Thank you! For the record, my appointment was on a Saturday and my pick-up was on a Wednesday. Wednesday evening was significantly busier, but I still felt that the staff did a good job handling the flow - I was in and out very quickly. I would visit this store again. read more

This store gets one star ONLY because I can't give it 0 stars. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I don't have time to write out all the crap I want to say about this store, but I will NEVER return to this David's Bridal again and if I wasn't in a rush to find a dress I would have returned my dress. My consultant, her name was Ish, was ok on my first visit. She seemed to be in a hurry and not happy that I didn't know exactly what I wanted... So we looked at some dresses- found 4 and tried a few on. Finally found one I wanted and decided to put it on layaway and come back when my mom could come with me. She told me to call her to make the appt, so I called 4 times and not once she was available to come to the phone and I left messages. So finally I just made an appt, not caring who I saw because my wedding was less than a month away. I come to my appt and I guess ISH was about to go to her other job and when she found out I was seeing someone else, she decided she'd stay so she wouldn't lose commission. Anyway ISH stomped off to go find my dress. Couldn't find it and started LOUDLY complaining to another RUDE associate, about how "PEOPLE" (as in me) need to call to make appointments becuase other people (AS IN HER) have other jobs and a LIFE. RIGHT in front of me!!!!! I was FURIOUS! She went on and on like I wasn't 10 feet from her. Her associate friend was just as rude Anyway, I purchased my dress, took my time trying on shoes that night and decided I would just post a review and send David's Bridal a detailed story. EVERYONE at this location was totally rude except an older lady who was behind the register and the alterations dept ladies. I could say so much more, but it just makes me so mad.
