David's Bridal WILL SELL your phone number and email address to vendors far and wide. Since going there a few weeks ago, I have received phone calls from random vendors offering me "free prizes just for being a bride - all you and your fiance have to do is show up together to a cooking show in a hotel somewhere north of Atlanta..." I have received text messages from Mary Kay inviting me to pampering mornings. I have received phone calls and emails from a photography studio in Pennsylvania. I have been enrolled in countless email campaigns, above and beyond the several that David's Bridal put you on themselves (I understand them putting consumers on their own email lists, but not so many of them). I can't unsubscribe from them fast enough and they just keep coming. The sales associate that I worked with at the Duluth store was very nice, but the whole place feels like the Walmart of bridal stores. I've had friends find great dresses there, and it is definitely budget-friendly (which is what most of us need), but the fabric felt cheap, the fits a little strange, and I didn't end up finding anything there. The invasion of my email address and phone is what pushed me over the edge, though. read more

After reading all the bad reviews on David's Bridal from other websites, I decided to go there anyway. I am so glad I did! I went there alone because I don't have many friends here yet. I am originaly from Long Island and that is where my wedding is going to be. I walked into David's Bridal last week 3/4/09 without an appointment. As soon as I walked in the door, I was treated like a friend. I did have to wait about 15 minutes for someone to come back from lunch but in the meantime, another girl talked to me and pulled some dresses I said I liked. As soon as the saleswoman Patti came back, she went right to work. I was there about 3 hours trying on dresses. She was AWESOME!!! I ended up buying my dress there. By the time I left, I felt like a made a bunch of new friends! The manager (I can't remember her name) but she was great! She worked with me since I didn't have the money to pay for the dress in full and I was able to put my dress on layaway. All I can say is don't let bad reviews stop you from going to David's Bridal in Duluth, GA. Everyone there was so nice and they really cared about my needs. I went in to this David's Bridal location to order my bridesmaid's dress. The person who helped me with the fitting was nice and polite. The person who took my order was very helpful. She helped me order it from a different David's Bridal location because I'm moving in a few weeks and wouldn't be in the area that I ordered the dress. I was initially told that this couldn't be done but a little explanation was all it took. There was one unhelpful associate who was a little rude when I asked for a printout of the event as a receipt, since I paid the other location over the phone. I had a great experience here! I went there for their semiannual sale and was not disappointed. It was a Friday afternoon, and I didn't have an appointment. I didn't wait long and was able to browse while I waited. Ceage was my consultant, and she is awesome! I hadn't looked at dresses and had no idea what I wanted! She was patient, kind and encouraging despite my lack of knowledge. It was also incredible to watch her with returning clients. She was so excited to see them as they picked up their altered dresses and showed family and friends. I could see the genuine care she had for each of the ladies I saw her with. I picked a dress and it turned out to be an incredible price. I couldn't say no. But, alas, it was not the one. I made another appointment with her a few days later and started the process all over again. Ceage was just as wonderful this time around. I was shopping alone, so she even took pictures for me. This time, I found the one! I got a little emotional, and Ceage did, too! That is the type of person I want helping me find the most important dress I will ever wear....THANKS CEAGE! I went into this store twice within the past month and a half while searching for a wedding dress. The first time I was tired of shopping and it was a weekend, so I was slightly relieved when I couldn't meet with a consultant (that is how I found out you need an appointment - which I probably should have known). When they asked me when my wedding date was, and I told them it was coming up in just a few months, they asked me what my hurry was to get married (it felt like they were insinuating that I must be pregnant or something). If there wasn't a dress I saw online that I liked, I wouldn't have gone back. The second time I went I made an appointment ahead of time. Even calling to make the appointment was not so great - when I told them I was getting married in just a few months they told me I should have started looking earlier. I dismissed it and decided to give them a chance anyway. When I got to the store (in the morning, on a weekday) I had a list of dresses to look at and was ready to just try on my 4 or 5 and see if I liked any. I did my research and found out that most of the bridesmaid dresses come in white but you can only buy them in white online. So I had a few bridesmaid dresses and a few wedding dresses on my list. My consultant was very nice but seemed new. The part that really left me frustrated was that after she brought me the 4th dress, she disappeared. I was standing there, needing the dress pinned so that I could look in a mirror, and my consultant was off helping someone else. I could understand this if she told me that they were understaffed, or she had another appointment, or something. But, no, she just left and didn't come back for almost 20 minutes, with me standing there wondering what was going on. My sister had to go and find her. There were plenty of other people at work while we were there and only 3 other people trying on dresses. They really need to work on their customer service skills read more

If I could give this place lower than 1 star, I would. Terrible service from the get go. No one was willing to assist me, even from as simple of a task as zipping up my dress because I was not a "bride." Then the ordeal with getting the dress ordered and shoes dyed. I received a call from an associate and was told first that my dress and shoes were in and ready, then that only the shoes were in, and finally that only the dress was in over the course of five minutes. I asked to speak with a manager and she "verified" that both items were in. I had a friend go pick them up (due to unfortunate family health issue, I was going to be out of town for the time being), and when she gets there the dress is there, but the shoes aren't dyed! What a waste of a trip when I confirmed with a manager that things were together. So I called in to complain. They wanted to do nothing but apologize. What has happened to the customer service in this country. Finally the manager said she could do a 25% discount on the shoes after much discussion. My friend goes back to pick up the shoes...another problem. The shoes are not dyed properly. There's glue on the shoes that makes the dye job look terrible. So yet again another wasted trip. The say they will get new shoes and dye them. I have called yet again to complain and the manager again has done nothing but apologize. At this point, if this place had any kind of customer service, they would offer a full refund of the shoes and still do the job. I'm not one to ask for freebies, but when I have to basically do your job for you or stand over your shoulder to make sure you are doing your job, we have a problem. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

THE MANAGER SUCKS AT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I walk in and I'm greeted with a confused tone and I'm asked if I had an appt to which I responded with no. After I say no, the other girls at the "greeting counter" and the manager (who greeted me and talked with the whole time) start talking about how booked they were. I stand there for about 10 minutes before finally I'm told I could sign in. At that point I ask, "WILL I BE HELPED IF I SIGN IN?" And the manager says yes. She then says, "you'll have to fill out aaaaaaall of this"....and its 3 damn lines where I put my name, email address and date of the wedding. *eye roll* I fill it out and then I ask if I can browse in the meantime and get an ok. 50 mins later, a girl walks in (no appointment), and they get her taken care of within 10 minutes. As soon as they start asking where she's getting married and what kind of style dresses she likes, is when I start losing it and just walk out. As I'm waking out I make eye contact with Randy the manager, but nothing was said cause now Randy is helping this walk-in girl out. I would expect for someone to politely ask me to schedule an appointment and help me book said appointment instead of waste my damn time. Today was my day off and I was trying to be productive, not to mention it was my first dress shopping experience, and it was ruined. Taking my business elsewhere. read more

I came in with one of my bridesmaids to browse and shop their bridesmaid dress collection. The girl that was supposed to be helping us came to introduce herself and we never saw her again. We had to pull dresses and do everything ourself. When we left she looked at us and continued walking. We had Dany as our consultant and she was very helpful, cheerful and not pushy. She pulled all the gowns I had listed that were available in store and some others that we saw on the spot. It was easy to book a Saturday appt the day before and I had already shopped at two other stores so I knew what I wanted. The prices are great even for accessories. My sash was 1/4 the cost of the other shops. I bought my gown today and feel like it was a great value. They are even shipping to me for free since I live in another state! I feel like we got a lot of attitude and added expenses at the other salons we visited so we were very pleased here. read more

I went to this location specifically for the $99 dress sale. While I was disappointed at the selection of these dresses, the stylist, Gabby, really tried to find out what I was looking for and my price range, and I was shocked to find a dress for $299 that I love... I never thought I would find my dress at David's Bridal of all places. I will end up adding a beaded sash from online to give it a little extra pizzazz but I really appreciated the experience I had at the store. read more

Okay, I'm going to be the weird one here and say I had an absolutely amazing, couldn't get better, experience at this David's Bridal. (Shock!) Seriously, I was dreading a trip here. David's has a bad rep and I did not see myself buying my wedding dress here. But, my ideal boutique appointment was a bust and I had one day left in Atlanta before driving back home so I stopped at David's. First, the BEST thing about this visit was my consultant. Amber is the sweetest, most caring person to work with. She truly didn't "sell" me a thing. She listened to what I had to say, took my family's ideas into account and took her time with me. There was not a single second where she made me feel awkward or pressured me. She kept her cool even when I would get flustered. Seriously, this girl should have her own boutique. I would buy anything she was sellin! You know how they say "you'll know when you try it on". I had this moment and it was the FIRST dress I tried on. Amber let me pull TONS of dresses and then went back and "weeded" them out. She would ask me if prices were okay before we even tried on and even asked before putting me in other people's pick. She would try a dress, listen to what I liked and didn't like and then would go find an alternative. ...Seriously, darn good at her job. At the end of my appointment, I was a little torn between the dress I LOVED and the dress I thought I saw myself in. So Amber, being the wedding dress fairy godmother, suggested I come back the next day after I slept on it so I could decide. The next morning I had my decision and she had me try it on again. I tried on reception dresses and accessories. Some I bought and some I didn't. NEVER was I pressured. I left with the memory of the best experience ever and a wedding dress, slip, lingerie and a reception dress. All of which were on sale and they honored my military discount. Just to top it off, I wasn't supposed to get all of the items until August 24th and they came this Tuesday, a full MONTH early. They were able to fit in a party of 6 on a Saturday and were super pleasant about it. We were greeted warmly at the door. Meagan was amazing! She was patient and very helpful. She went and got different sizes and styles for us and was incredibly nice about it. She really turned around a crappy day and went above and beyond for us. Before going to David's I had tried on dresses at 4 other stores. The other places were bridal boutiques and really gave a more special experience, but were so overpriced. I'm glad I decided to come here because they had beautiful gowns that looked expensive but were way more reasonably priced. I went to David's Bridal to find my wedding dress, have alterations done and also for purchasing their Preservation Kit for my bridal dress. My advice for finding a dress. If you try on a dress you love during your appointment, it fits amazing, then please pay and walk out with that dress. Yes, it may need minor alterations, but if you try on a size 10 and it fits in the waist, then walk out with it. Do not let them order you a new dress because it may not come in and be the same dress / size / length. That's the biggest advice I can give you as I had that happen with mine. I also found it hard for managers to fix the issue and stand by their word. Now on the other hand, David's Bridal has some beautiful gowns, great designers, and also has a very good price point that probably will meet all budgets. So with that, I wouldn't knock it out completely as a contender for finding a beautiful dress. Just go in cautiously (take pics of everything) from your own appointment. The alterations women. They are all amazing at what they do. They truly care about making your dress fit you and about it being perfect. It shows in their work and the way they treat you. Their Preservation Kit. Also, amazing! You buy the kit at the store which includes the box/UPS shipping label/form. Everything you need is in the kit. Then you truly put your dress in the box and mail it. Simple. Mine came back and it was beautiful. I also didn't buy this until after my wedding when I had decided what I wanted to do with my dress, but it is worth it to use their preservation service over a local cleaner. Their price is also comparable. I gave 3 stars for the hassle I went through for my wedding dress and having to deal with both managers at the store. I set an appointment and went in for the initial fitting. I told them my budget and found a dress. I was pregnant but was told they would have a bigger size to order for me when it gets closer. I went in for my second fitting and was told they didn't have any other sizes and I would have to find a new dress keep in mind I already paid in full for the original dress. I was mad but found a second dress that I insisted had to stay in my budget. I got it fitted once and paid again for the alterations. They didn't pin it correctly. The next time I went in 2 days before my wedding I spent 20 minutes waiting and they told me they lost my dress. They found it and the alterations were still wrong and they didn't hem it correctly. They wanted to charge me another 45 dollars to fix their mistake. Bottom line go somewhere else. read more

Our appointment time was a complete embarrassing mixup! My daughter chose David's bridal to try on dresses for my upcoming wedding when we met our stylist. She was very flustered and disorganized. She picked us a few dresses and then spent the following 20 minutes of our appointment having us wait while she found us a dressing room. She moved our dresses to two different dressing rooms and then another stylist stated those were her rooms. She said she would straighten it out and then disappeared. When she returned she had another customer and dress in tow and placed them in a room and then seemed to remember us and gave us a room. No locks on the doors which becomes a problem when just a few minutes later she opens the door to our dressing room with another customer in tow while my daughter is standing completely exposed! She was mortified! She didn't want to try any more dresses after that. We left the store then and decided not to purchase in person. I did go home and order two dresses from their website as they were on clearance but then received the confirmation with a delivery date four months from now! I was told in store it takes 4-9 days to ship something in. I'm so heart broken that this was our mother daughter wedding experience. It was a wonderful value for the dresses and they are super beautiful, I'm sure we will enjoy them three months AFTER my wedding date! read more

Worst place to buy a wedding dress and even worse bridesmaids dresses! You will. Be treated like scum. I have not gotten married i simply am a bridesmaid in my sisters wedding coming up in April. I went in in January to try on dresses, being that i did not know that is cutting it super short to the wedding date, I thought that gave me PLENTY of time. So first thing is first my younger sister and i walk in to try on the styles we agreed on with the bride. We were told there would be every dress in every size there (women OR children) not saying every dress has sizes in both..but if it women's style every women's size and so on and so forth! So, of course they have one dress style in my size and NONE in my sisters!!!!!!!! Keep in mind ladies this is a 100-3/400$ dress that you are buying and are NOT able to RETURN if it does not fit. So i try on the dresses picked out and then go to talk about when they could be ready by......5 months!!!! It would have taken 20 flipping weeks - A HALF A YEAR- to make one flipping bridesmaids dress all because it was Vera wang and not a basic davids bridal dress! So of course the ladies who DO THIS EVERYDAY and know how things are, kind of smirk and say ya thats completely normal. Talk about wanting to just spit in someone's face! My younger sister is very outgoing so she brushes off the fact that they only had ONE of her styles NOT even in her size to try on!!! So then, i say "okay then i guess give me a list of dresses i have the options for now that it matters about the color....the oasis color guys' is crazy difficult for them to do, so if you're looking at that color...turn back now! So i take the list home decide on some of the BASIC ridiculous looking davids bridal dresses; what do you know i go back in to try those on, and they do not have them min my size. -_- I'm sorry but a 12 is a veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy popular women's size, please explain why and how you do NOT have that size!? Moving on, i pick out a dress. Order it knowing that I will probably have to spend just as much money on alterations as i did the actual dress! It comes in way sooner than the date anticipated. And need me say, i work retail as well! So time during the day is not something i see too often. I get two emails and a phone call and my dress has not even been there for 5 days!!!! It is paid for already need me say that as well! I called today for them to hold it for me in til i can find time to come try it on and get alterations. She's says "ya we just dont have room to keep dresses here, they could get damaged b being in between other dresses"...-_-. I am so done with this place, she was rude on the phone and VERY sarcastic!! I work retail love, i know when someone has a stick in their butt. And everyday every time, these women did. I agree with other people if money is a HUGE thing to you and you do not care if it is a meaningful "said yes to the dress" type of time with helpful NICE women surrounding you, go here! I was VERY disappointed in our experience. I had made an appointment weeks in advance for bridal party dress shopping and many things were not ok with any of us. Our consultant was nice but not very helpful at all. Many times we couldn't even find her in the store to ask her questions or get differ sizes we would just have to go find the dress our selves. She was not pinning up the dresses to help my girls see how they would fit or any recommendations since she works in this industry. DO NOT come here to get your dress altered! I had my bridesmaids dress altered by them about a month ago. They needed to take in the sides near my ribs and hem the dress. I tried it on when I picked it up and was mostly looking to make sure the dress was hemmed properly. It was the correct length so I was happy. I then noticed that the zipper in the back seemed to not be in the center of my back anymore, but I figured I had just twisted the dress a little when I put it on. The day of the wedding, everyone is trying to pull down my dress because it keeps bunching up. We then discover that the seamstress at David's Bridal had sewed the outside of my dress to the lining inside, which created a big bulge on my back side. It looked awful and was so uncomfortable because it made the zipper in the back go to the side. Also, the lining underneath was completely unevenly hemmed. I will be visiting this David's Bridal soon to request a refund for my alterations. I paid $80 for such poor work. My fellow bridesmaids got their dresses hemmed for $30 or less. DO NOT use David's Bridal for your alterations!! read more

We made a reservation to try on dresses for my friend who was getting married. Everything started out fine, the lady assigned to help was seemed nice. But as we continued trying dresses on our bride to be the lady became irritated. She said "I don't to have you try on 45 dresses" like, umm, how is my friend supposed to find the dress of her dream if she doesn't try on dresses? Our helper was very fake while trying to be polite. She got pushy and rude towards the end of our visit. We were never told that the appointment was only for an hour and a half (which is not nearly enough time!) finally the bride found a dress she liked and after that our host stopped helping us. My friend "liked" the dress, she didn't love it. But our host got pushy and convinced her to buy it right there on the spot. How rude! She was only there for her commission and couldn't care less if we were pleased with our decision. We wanted to also look at brides maid dresses but were told there was no time for that. I was very disappointed with our visit and I hope the bride doesn't change her mind about the dress because it's too late now. This was supposed to be a special day for her and I don't think it was. read more

I am shocked to get on here and see so many negative reviews of David's Bridal. Our experience was quite different. I am the mother of bride, and a week or so in advance we made an appointment for myself, my daughter, and her maid of honor to go in and see wedding dresses. After our morning appointment at another bridal salon was a bust, we called David's to see if we could move up our appointment so we wouldn't have to kill so much time in between. They were more than accommodating and told us to come on over. When we got there we were promptly greeted, and told we could browse the store while we waited for our consultant. Less than 5 min later we were greeted by Yasmin. She listened to my daughter's preferences, and mine, haha. We talked about price point. She let my daughter pick a few to try on, and then picked a few on her own. Everything she was given to try on looked beautiful. Yasmin listened to everything all of us were saying, and adjusted what dresses she was trying on accordingly. Within the hour and a half appt she had identified 2 favorite dresses. Yasmin completed the looks with veils and accessories....and before we left we all agreed that we had found the dress. We promptly made an appt to return with the entire bridal party to show them the wedding dresses and pick out bridemaids ones. 7 of us showed up for that appointment! No small task. Yasmin worked her magic again! We were there almost an hour and a half, but when we were done, all 5 bridemaids had agreed on a dress, and my daughter got to ring the bell! A manager there was also super helpful....I wish I had gotten her name. She answered all of my million questions. The bridal party is comprised of mostly college girls, and she was able to help with those who were ready to purchase that day, the ones who were sized and will return soon to order, and talk to them about extended payment options. I went to David's Bridal Duluth and I had a great experience. I am 60 and will be getting married April 15th. My daughter is 31 and will be getting married on a cruise in August. My consultant, Sade, and the Manager, Towanna, were excellent. Sade seemed new and needed Towanna's help, but Towanna is an excellent manager/consultant. She knew her stock and was very helpful. My daughter's appointment was first and Sade put her in the first dress. Just as she was getting her out of that dress another Manager (?) came and sent her on a 30 minute break. I was a little ticked but Towanna stepped in and she didn't miss a beat. She pulled gowns for my daughter and put her in 3 gowns. Gown #3 was the one. My daughter and I knew the moment she stepped out in this gown that this was her dress. By this time Sade had come back from break and she took over with the accessorizing. I gave my daughter my credit card and she went and paid for her dress, which by the way was on sale for $350.00 and they took $50.00 off because they were running sales. The dress is very high quality and we were both shocked that it didn't cost a lot. Now it was my turn and Sade pulled dresses for me, none were on my list of favorites, and at first I was a little upset. In regular clothes I wear a size 12 dress but she kept pulling dresses too large for me to get an idea. A womans 16W is way too big for me, so I was being swallowed up by the dresses. I am curvy and I asked her to pull 14s for me. When she did I was able to get an idea, even though they were a little big also. She kept saying she didn't want to pull 12s because I am curvy and wedding dresses run smaller. Two of the size 14s fit and I had 1 that was my top choice. Then she pulled an Oleg Cassini that I knew was perfect for me. When she brought it in she said it was a 12 and hoped I could get it on in order to get an idea about the dress. The dress fit perfectly! It zipped right up without an issue, almost as though it was made for me. It will need minor alterations on the straps and it will need to be cut at the bottom since I am short. It is a blush dress and it is perfect, but I couldn't see myself at 60 with what looked like a ball gown. It is on the website as an A-line but to me it was a ball gown. Two people helped me decide on this dress, Towanna and a gentleman who I had never seen before. Towanna had a talk with me about our ages, even though she is much younger than I am. She was whispering to me in a voice so that no one could hear her but me and the gentleman's whole face lit up when I walked out and he said to my daughter and friend, that is the one. He said that I looked beautiful and that he thought that was my dress. Also, I had just seen a picture of Omarosa Manigault in a blush gown for her wedding and thought she looked beautiful. I bought this particular dress that day because it was new and since my wedding is so close, we didn't want to take the chance of my size not being available (since they only had 4 listed as being in stock). After spending 2 hours trying on bridesmaid dresses and finally deciding on a flattering style, I was told that that particular dress in the color I wanted was going to take 20weeks because it was "cut to order". 20 weeks to make this dress!! Any other color, any other style was 4-8 weeks but not this one. So, I had to go back to trying on dresses again since it would not be ready for the planned wedding in 4 months. Needless to say, I am not nearly as happy with the second option and it wasn't cheap! $200 for a dress never to be worn again. Very disappointed with David's. As they are a large chain located all over the country, they should be able to handle dress orders with relatively quick turn around. read more

Although I expected a larger selection of dresses and sizes, I found exactly what I needed and they were able to get it in my size for a nominal rush fee. The ladies who helped me were very nice, professional and attentive. It's a good place to find a special occasion dress for a reasonable price. I went in first thing in the morning and I'm a size 10. I was looking for a formal but not over the top dress for a fund raiser. Bought a black off the shoulder 3/4 sleeve fitted gown. Love it. Providing it gets here in time I would go back. The only thing that stopped me from rating them a 5 is the selection. read more
