I'm honestly surprised to see so many positive reviews. I scheduled my wedding dress appointment a month in advance and arrived to find the store extremely crowded. I was told there were nine other appointments booked for the same time, which made the experience feel chaotic. Jacey assisted me during my appointment, but she came across as short and dismissive toward my mom, future MIL and bridesmaids. She didn't introduce herself, didn't ask my size, and wasn't attentive or particularly helpful. She said she would be nearby when we were picking out dresses but wasn't and got annoyed when my bridal party were taking dresses off the rack (we were not told to not do this in advance, or see any signs not to do this). The dresses and store itself also felt rundown--several were wrinkled, had makeup stains, or even stray hairs on them. The store doesn't have mirrors inside the fitting rooms, the carpet was stained and didn't feel like it had been cleaned lately. I know David's Bridal is more affordable than boutiques, but I guess you get what you pay for. I did find a dress I liked and might have considered, but the lack of attending during my service and the store's condition are a bit of dealbreakers to me. This is the 2nd David's bridal location I've tried to look for a bridesmaid dress, since initially I went to the sugar land location and was highly upset leaving with tears. BUT I have to give a HUGE shout out to the staff at this location honestly, especially to the stylist Vilma! She was a great help by hearing my concerns, accommodating with ideas, and making sure I was happy with my purchase. Vilma was able to assist me quickly walking into the store and handling my options of dresses very professionally. I never leave reviews on anything but this place deserves one! I was hesitant about going due to the reviews but also as a first time bride, I was overwhelmed by the amount of dress shops in Houston and felt that going to David's Bridal (river Oaks location) would be a great start and if I didn't find a dress, I could go elsewhere. I originally set my appointment for a Saturday morning at 10:30 am but got a call the night before that the 10:30 am slot was overbooked and they were looking for someone to switch to 9 am and if done, we would receive 10% off our purchase. We ended up switching and all was well. It was a little overwhelming walking in as I didn't realize how many other brides were also picking out dresses but each of us were assigned a stylist and were explained the process and I never once felt pressured or rushed. All of the dresses from my list looked even better in person which made the decision at first difficult. My stylist was Lauren and she was quick to find the dresses I had saved on my phone AND picked a dress that wasn't on my list but knew it was similar to the style I liked. My future mother-in-law, mom, and I ended up falling in love with the dress she picked and purchased it. I was done with the entire process in about 50-60 minutes. The material and style was so elegant and looked like it was going to be way more expensive than it was. I had a set budget in my mind but knew there was a possibility of going over. My favorite part was when I saw the price tag, it was almost half of my budget plus we got the additional discount for moving our appointment up. I was also told that my dress would arrive early March and I already got a call that it's ready for pick up! My consultant Manaar was great, but I was not impressed with the quality of dresses at David Bridal. First, their selection needs more variety to try on in store. Second, they don't have enough plus size dresses that you can try on. It's hard to envision you walking down the aisle in a dress that doesn't fit at all. I was only able to try on about 3 dresses. We were in the check out line when Rebekah, who had worked with another customer (I had observed) until that very moment approached us. Until then, there were 5 other associates / cashiers which could have cared less we existed. (Side note - We are in our 40s, were dressed professionally, and noted to the person at the front desk we were looking for a wedding dress.) Rebekah was a joy to speak with, and had we not already been so completely turned off, we would have considered having her show us the options. Such a disrespectful and dismissive staff should be replaced, and clearer signs should be considered. At the check out the cashier actually dissuaded us from signing up for the diamond club, and as it was only a 5% variance I agreed... THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH IT! We will not be returning, but if per chance you do go in, only work with Rebekah, as she's the only person in the store actually working, and worthy of your time, and business. read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! The African American manager at this location (also manager at the Woodlands location) does NOT know the meaning of the word customer service. I was told she has many years with the company, honestly it has been a waist of time. I express my thoughts because of the terrible experience that we had at this location. I accompanied my sister on a Monday (1/13/2025) to shop for her wedding dress. Of course as a bride you have mixed emotions and at times can feel so overwhelmed by the selection of dresses that you may not know which one to choose. That day this manager was't there, we had a pleasant experience and the associates that assisted us were very kind and helpful. My sister is petite and her size wasn't available so she ordered 2 of the same dress in 2 different sizes. The next day my sister decided that she wasn't "in love" with the dress. She decided to call the store I order to cancel the order. She was told that this was only possible in store. Unfortunately this is when the previous pleasant visit went down the drain. From the time my sister arrived there was this hostile and disgusting attitude from the manager towards her. In the process of canceling the order and obtaining a refund the manager accused my sister of trying to take "advantage of the company!" This was her words! We were previously told that there was a restocking fee of $15, but accord to her it was actually $25. She spoke to her district manager and the restocking fee of $15 was applied. This employee (manager) lacks all of the qualities (empathy, respect, manners, positive attitude) needed to strive in this type of industry. That weekend my sister visited the the David's Bridal located in Sugarland. From the moment we walked into this store, you could feel that friendly welcoming. Thank the Lord that she found the dress of her dreams! I hope to never encounter this female in my life again. Please investigate and speak to the staff at the locations where this female works at. Overall the store had a good selection and great prices but our stylist Karen seemed to be high and couldn't remember what dresses we picked out or what sizes we needed and said a few things that were just not appropriate. We were a small party of two and she was helping another bride so we understood her having to split her attention. She asked how much we were paying for the wedding which was awkward and said we were spending a lot- she seemed very out of it and definitely made the process longer than it needed to be. When helping us check out she was unable to remember her computer passcode to get into the system which made payment take 30+ min. I had my first dress fitting today with the alterations department and had the joy of working with MARTHA. She was patient, kind and gave me OPTIONS. I waited until the last minute to find MY dress and Martha was able to give me a sense of relief with getting me situated and preparing me and my maid of honor for the big day. Until My wife returned to the store a few days later due to a small tear discovered in her newly bought dress. I came here early in my wedding dress hunt to try to help hone in on what style of dress I was searching for. As a corporation, David's Bridal definitely doesn't have that quaint, personal vibe I think I would prefer to feel while I try on the most important dress of my life, but it is very efficient and definitely a well-oiled machine. You can also trust that they will actually have the dress that you like in your size, which may not always be the case at boutiques. I was paired with Angela, who was my stylist for the appointment. She and the manager Mandy were both five-star experiences. Angela was very good at listening to what I was looking for (including trying to keep within my budget, unlike other places where they seemingly try to sneak in higher-priced dresses). Angela went above and beyond trying to help me find a dress that I loved, as well as to help me learn what I liked. Mandy also was very helpful and kind, and pulled a great dress from the floor that we had missed. Angela allowed my appointment to run late, giving me ample time to try on as many dresses as I wanted. Thank you for all of your help and patience! And PS - wedding dress alterations there run about $200-300 total, which is a steal compared to about $500 that I have been quoted at many other locations. At 50 years old, for the first time in my life, I had to find a dress for a black tie event that I'm attending with my man. It's a big anniversary gala for urologists and it's in my home state of Minnesota. I know Lars. Left to him, he would've made me an appointment somewhere fancy. I don't even have the knowledge to name a place like that. My friend told me David's Bridal had great deals and I went for it! I filled everything out online and went in only a week before I needed a dress. Rookie. My first visit was fun because of a few other ladies my age who were trying things on in the same fitting area. The folks helping, the employees, were meh. I appreciated some warmth from Bridget, however, any other person working there was just going through motions. Zero interest in asking about the occasion or complimenting any tries that were nice. With any of us. Julia got all of my dresses. She was fine. She hung in there with me for about 4-5 dresses and had others to assist. I found the one and she hurried me to the register although I repeatedly explained I wanted it hemmed. At the register, she did very poorly at training Bridget. She was condescending and rushed. Disregard for me, the guest, and for a new, shining employee. After trying my gown on for Lars, he liked it very much, but instantly said, 'it's too long.' Even with my shoes, yes! Sooooo.....I headed back to David's today (the very next day) at 10am. Scarlet put me into the system to get pinned at 1pm for a hemming. I explained my disappointment from the previous day and mind you, they all explained that alterations are often done in a week or even a day! I was only in need of a hem. I did a few errands and returned at 1. New employees were there. Someone looked me up on the computer, made a call, said, 'she'll be right out to get you.' And left. Jelicia came out. After asking my name she said I'm not in the system, but she'll put me in as a walk in. I told her Scarlet and the girl with the hoodie helped me this morning at 10 and put me in for 1pm. I pointed to Scarlet who was walking away. Two other afternoon employees came by saying they just got there so the manager on duty should know. They pointed to her. I was shocked. Some unkempt gal who I saw during my 5 hour visit yesterday, but she never came around. No wonder the store is in need of help. I'm EASY!!!! The easiest person in a store because I'm ill equipped. I listen and follow leads of the experts. This Jelcia seemed pissed from the get go. I wanted her to understand I wasn't walking in. I even asked if she was missing lunch & offered to buy her lunch. "No, we take walk ins." She said. She gave me some paperwork and I explained my excitement about this first time event. She said nada. I put the dress on, she asked, "should I just pin the front so it's even with the rest and not dragging?" Huh? It's not even now? I don't know? I just want it so it doesn't drag. And yes, even please. She began pinning, scolding me for my posture or if I moved, asking me to turn, and after 20 min of that we were done. She grabbed my dress, asked for my card, said I'll be back and there I stood in the dressing room. I went out to find her and she finally came. I swear, I nearly returned the dress, the jumper I also bought!!, and the boob tape in those moments before leaving the store. I have to go in next Tuesday to have some alterations on my jumper and I will pick up the dress Thursday. Dress 295$ Jumper 90$ Boob tape 20$ Alterations plus rush fee on dress 135$ Alterations on jumper - not sure yet So if this is a $700-800 dollar 5 visits, then I don't think the, "get what you pay for" theory should apply!! I'm certain I could've gone somewhere fancy shmancy for $1000 and much kinder service! David needs to rethink his service standards. At least at the San Felipe location in Houston, Texas. After proving and having to go back and forth with this location trust me i will never come back due to horrible staff and wont be referring family or friends. Joeii was an excellent with helping us find the perfect dress for my mother in law. He was patient with her and even helped her select a new dress after the one she wanted was only available online. He's also very funny and even had a portable fan to keep his guest cool. Joeii made the whole experience so fun and I really appreciate him tolerating us and our extensive list of demands! The staff is also nice (alterations, checkout, receptionist, etc) The store is large and clean and beautiful decorated, it makes you want to get married. Okay, so the problem with Yelp Bridezillas is that you really can't tell what's a legit review and who is posting to just sabotage a place, and who is being extra bridezilla-y. I think the angriest reviews I've read are from wedding vendors, so I was kinda scared to go to this David's Bridal. The inside isn't beautiful and picture perfect, but it's decent enough. If you want a full bridal experience with fancy champagne and be treated like a Queen, maybe this place isn't for you. When I arrived I did have to wait maybe 5-7 minutes for my stylist to come out. I've noticed the 5-15 minute wait time is pretty typical from Winnie to Alfred Angelo. Unfortunately, I can't remember her name, but I did love my stylist. She had a great personality and she completely respected my budget. I told her about the screw up at Winnie and she made it her mission to get me a dress I could afford. We tried on several gowns and towards the end I was either getting hangry or stressed, because I was asked if I was okay. I felt I was, but I also had an appointment at Alfred Angelo later that afternoon. I didn't buy a dress here, because the one that everyone gushed over made me think bridal, but I wasn't sold on it. I couldn't figure out what it was, but after time I reflected back and realized it's a cute dress but it looked so similar to about 3-5 other wedding dresses from friends on my facebook feed who were married this past year. Not to say there is anything wrong with that, but because of the lace, which I wasn't sold on, I couldn't say, "Yes, let's buy it!" I'm not a lace person. And ugh, the trend right now is lace, and I can't wait for it to die in like 3-5 years, so my non lace brides can enjoy their bridal shopping experience. If you feel easily pressured, then other sales clerks complimenting you, will make you question your choice. I'm not that easily pressured over a dress I'm spending more than 1000 on, so it didn't bother me. However, I felt to those of you who want a more private experience may not like it, so it was worth mentioning. I liked that the other girls helped my stylist, but eh, the other dresses they chose were kinda ugly. By the way, every store has at least a few ugly dresses. Even Winnie Couture. Who is David's Bridal for? Girls on a budget. Girls willing to fight for what they want. Girls who like a trendy wedding dress style at a cheaper price. If that style of dress they had me try on was realistically something that I would have wanted, then the price and service would have wowed me, but I wasn't crazy about it. Who is David's Bridal not for? Girls who don't know what to watch out for with David's Bridal, like avoiding weekend appointments and not knowing to check out the dress before accepting it as sometimes they don't send new dresses. Girls who assume all David's Bridal dresses are ugly. Girls who are Bridezillas. Oh and one last little tip, the accessories and veils here were gorgeous, much better than even Alfred Angelo. So if you want to save on accessories, check them out as it may be worth your while. I did like the service and honestly, if I had found a dress I loved, I would have bought from here. Imagine you ordered and paid for your wedding dress in full May 1, 2022 for your early November 2022 destination wedding. When your dress comes in, you go to your first fitting October 4th (a month before your wedding day) and it's the wrong dress. The wrong color! The sales lady, Jessica tells you they can exchange it for the right color and try to expedite shipping and the earliest it would arrive would be October 19th but they wouldn't get shipping confirmation until October 11th. You refuse to accept that because it's too close and too many things can go wrong and request a refund for the $1,200 you paid for your dress because on top of the million other things you have to do to prepare for a destination wedding, you don't want the added stress of not knowing if you're going to actually have dress! Is it going to arrive before you have to travel, what if alterations need to be made, shipping issues etc. Although there was a manger in the store, the salesperson Jessica says she has to contact the district manager or whatever named Deborah, the "decision maker" as to whether a refund should be issued or not. Jessica emails Deborah and Deborah replies the next day and refuses to refund for the dress (although the dress has always been in their possession, has never been altered and can easily be re-sold) and says it has to be an exchange. Would you feel this is acceptable? Me either! This was my first and last experience with David's Bridal. And I didn't even mention the other little nuances throughout this whole process, like me having to be the one to call for updates and the store manager not wanting to get on the phone to speak to me. For them to be in the wedding business they have no empathy. Yes, they have 7 day refund policy but this was a unique situation where they completely dropped the ball and should've and could've made an exception. I wanted to post on here to let other brides know to beware. I will be escalating this issue, filing a complaint with the BBB and seeking legal advice. read more

We didn't have an appointment but we were able to have a stylist within 30 minutes. I only tried on 4 dresses because there was a family there with 2 small children that were crying. On top of that, they had Wheels on the Bus playing full volume, over and over and over. It was so loud that I couldn't talk easily to my stylist. They also changed a diaper right next to me while I tried on dresses. We left sooner than planned because it was like trying on dresses in the middle of a daycare. read more
