I can't speak for all David's Bridal alterations at every store, but this one was run by a very capable woman (Melanie, I believe) and I felt comfortable putting the dress in her hands. I got it back, and it fit like a glove! The sales associate who sold me the dress was really nice and was not pushy with buying but was helpful with finding different styles to try. (I do think the store should possibly hire someone to be just at the front kiosk, since you can walk in and feel unsure of who to talk to, but that seems like a corporate decision that I do not want to fault the store for.) I have dreamed of buying my wedding dress at this specific David's Bridal since I was in the 7th grade. IM GETTING MARRIED!!! That being said I have gone on two separate occasions to two different locations with different babes from my bride squad. My first experience ever in a david's bridal in brea was less than impressive. We were greeted, sent to the bridesmaid section and browsed for a while before our rep joined us. We told her we informed her what we were interested in. She chose two dresses for each girl, then sent us to the dressing room amd disappeared..she came back few and far between..then proceeded to answer her personal cell and left again.. like I said not impressed. SO UNDERSTAFFED. AVOID if at all possible. VERY POOR customer service. I got my dress here only because I had failed to find one for an upcoming wedding. 1. Never got a call to tell me the dress was in. The lady LIED saying a VM was left for me - oh yeah - in what realm of the world? Puh-leazzze - "Scam Likely" has left me more VM and I never take those calls. 2. The first dress that was delivered totally looked so poorly made, was ill-fitting, using a cheaper material, and completely not the same as the try-on dress that I had to sub it out (This place is NO RETURNS). 3. Their phone system to check on your order and schedule a fitting or alteration is so inefficient. Pizza places have a better way of taking your calls. I literally wasted so many calls (at least 3 from my work phone, another 5 from my cell- all in one day alone, just to speak to a person. I kept getting a voice message after holding: Sorry no one is available to take your call, Please try again. - This is nearly $500 for the price of the dress plus alterations and you can't *F&^R*$)%^ speak to me! 4. The sale staff is solicitous while you are looking for a dress. ALL customer service ceases once it is bought. (NO RETURNS remember?) 5. I witnessed several snafus while I was there and others were picking up their dresses - one was the WRONG dress entirely, another, had no one to attend to her to pick up the altered dress, and she was literally a few hours on her way to a vacation cruise. There was only one person in alterations waiting on 2 bridal fittings, me and the wrong dress lady. Needless to say, my 11:00 appointment was not over till 12:30 (they took me in around 11:45). Worse than a medical office huh? 6. The sales staff is supposed to offer an alterations package with your purchase (To get it for less expensive, I guess? They NEVER offered it to me. The Alterations people took that into account and gave me the package price. 7. I gave the extra star because the alterations staff did their best. Rosa, Mari, Gigi and Britain all helped me. AMAZING experience! I had gone to another DB and was not happy at all and almost gave up on getting my dress at DB. Decided to try this location and I could not be more pleased!! I had a pretty open budget and a rough idea of what I wanted. Went with my mom and dad and while in the showroom we picked some dresses I wanted to try and my consultant was amazing in allowing me to try on everything I wanted and then pulled some of her own recommendations! I ended up wanting to just "try on and get an idea" and the experience was amazing and I got that little special feeling I ended up buying a dress that night (WAy under budget!)...fast forward to picking up and I wanted to try on the dress and Fabiola was amazing in helping my mom putting dress on me and I tried on with a petticoat and OMG I fell in love, Fabiola had me try on with some random shoes and I fell even more in love with my dress and purchased a petticoat. Have to start this out with I said yes to the dress. I started my search for the dress at some other shops and tried on at least 25 other dresses. I got to David's Bridal and was dishearten because I didn't like the way any of them looked and the stylists weren't helping me at all. Walking in they were warm and welcoming. They let me browse around while I waited. My stylist was Fabiola and was nothing short of exceptional. I told her I was stressed out and I didn't really know where to start because I didn't like any of the other dresses I tried on. She was so calm and helpful though and assured me that even if I didn't find the right one we would have a good experience at least. We tried on I think 6 different dresses and had it narrowed down to 2. I tried them both on at least 5 times before deciding. She didn't rush me or pressure me in any way. The manager Allie was there as well. She was super professional and personable. I finally decided on the one and it was amazing. I cried and everything. The entire time I was trying on dresses, my mother was on FaceTime from North Carolina and my sister was with me. They were completely understanding and talked to my mom and everything. read more

We went in to David's Bridal in Long Beach and if they had an option of no stars I would. As women we shouldn't be judgmental towards one another, but our representative Theresa sure made us feel fat. When we would ask for a certain size she would look at us and be like I wouldn't recommend that and kept suggesting 2 whole sizes bigger. I mentioned I tried this size at another David's bridal and she looked at me from head to toe and widen her eyes suggesting how did you squeeze your self in it. Even to our youngest bridesmaid, she kept on suggesting up to 4 sizes bigger. We felt like she was being so pushy too. We were being nice and helping her write down our measurements but then we kept looking at each other in confusion thinking is she really calling us fat? I remember Brittany helped me last time, and I called (too many) times because I was nervous about my size. She was really nice and patient with me. Today, Lisa helped me with my alterations. She was very easy going and I immediately felt comfortable in getting my fitting. I tend to be a little shy, but she made me feel comfortable right away! She answered all my questions and I felt reassured with the decisions I was making. I could tell that she had honest intentions because her opinions were genuine. Accompanied a good friend for a wedding dress fitting. We had a 2pm appointmet but they were so busy and uderstaffed that they didn't greet our party of six for 10 minutes. The woman that took our information told us to look around while she got our consultant. Our consultant never came so we ended up doing the dress shopping ourselves. Halfway through our self-run fitting the original woman that said she was going to get our consultant started to help us. She was nice and all but really annoying because she complented us on every single detail and it didn't seem genuine. My dress came and I was excited to try it on. Sales associates ignored me. Had to shout to get one to zip it up for me in the back. No help getting it out of the bag or matching any shoes or accessories. No ask if I needed alterations done. Nothing! Dress was $150 cheaper 11 days after ordering it and manager wouldn't budge on lowering the price for me. It was beyond the 7 day purchase window. All I can say is that the service before you buy and after is like night and day. Once that commission is captured it's a different treatment. Appsolutly disappointed, went in to an appointment,checked in an Vanessa told us to have a look around while our stylist comes and gets us, looked around for 10 minutes , then Vanessa said she had to reschedule us because we were late? What??? She told us to look around and the stylist would be right with us , how is it our fault that the stylist took 20 minutes to come find us? Now we pay the consequences. For a new bride to hear this was awful. Apologies for this mistake on Vanessa behalf, was not genuine at all, she didn't even get a manager involved. David's bridal should learn how to hold their employees accountable for the mistakes they make. At the end Vanessa didn't even care if we left heart broken, her response was"do what you have to" RUDE. read more

I have a LONG LIST of complaints about this place. (I'm only giving 2 stars because I have my dress now and it turned out nice.) You won't believe number 5! 1. The first dress I received from this store was NOT THE DRESS I wanted to purchase. I ordered the petite version of a dress I tried on at the store that had a beautiful, long train. During the ordering process I told the store associates how much I liked the train. NO ONE TOLD ME THAT THE PETITE VERSION OF THE DRESS HAD NO TRAIN WHATSOEVER. It was like a totally different dress. Fortunately I tried the dress on when I came to pick it up and found this out before taking it home. I had to exchange the dress for the regular size and wait a few more months for a new dress to come in. 2. During the try-on process, two of the store associates repeatedly referred to me as "short" when discussing my petite size. This was unprofessional and somewhat rude. 3. After alterations, I went to pick up my dress and it was a bit longer than desired so we re-pinned the dress and scheduled an appointment to pick up the dress in 4 weeks' time. In the time since purchasing the dress I had moved to another city, so I had to carefully plan my day in order to make the new appointment. 40 MINUTES before I'm scheduled to arrive I get a stressed call from alterations saying that my dress is not ready. They ask me when's the latest time I'm willing to get it. They suggest a date 2 weeks before my wedding. I compromise at 3 weeks prior, giving them another 16 days. 4. THEY STOOD ME UP FOR MY PICK-UP APPOINTMENT 3 weeks prior to my wedding. I once again made the time to go to the store and this time I get all the way to alterations before they look confused for a few minutes and then tell me my dress is not ready. We complain to the front desk. 5. The store manager, Angela, is AWFUL to work with. She calls us later in the day not to apologize for the horrible customer service I've received, but to tell me they need to charge us again for the alterations. I had my mother call her back and she MADE UP LIES AS EXCUSES as to why my dress was still not ready. She accused me of switching my shoes during the alterations process, which was a total lie. She then claimed that the dress wasn't ready because we hadn't paid for the second hemming, which was NO EXCUSE for standing me up for TWO appointments. No one told us we needed to make a second payment until that day. Can you imagine being less than 3 weeks out from your wedding and being stood up, insulted, lied to, and charged extra money by your bridal salon? That's what happened to me. If you want a smooth, pleasant wedding dress experience, I'd steer clear of this place. Not everyone there was bad and I did end up with my dress in time for the wedding, but the store's overarching poor communication, customer service, and organization ultimately wasted a lot of my time and made me a stressed and angry bride-to-be. read more

I have been to a few David's Bridal's and this one I've always had the best experiences at. The place is always clean, the staff is friendly and patient, and they always make sure you're getting the best service. I've been here with brides before for their dress appointments, and I've been here a few times for bridesmaids dresses. As a plus size girl, it's always been hard to try on bridesmaid dresses because sizes are limited. At other stores I've only gotten to try one on or 2 styles and typically I have to order blindly knowing what looks good on my body. Also I know that sizing usually ranges depending on dress, so I appreciate that this store had many different styles in multiple sizes. This particular visit, Kaela helped us out and she was so patient and friendly. It was myself and 2 other girls, and we weren't quite sure what we wanted but she was super helpful with grabbing dresses and getting things similar if what we wanted wasn't there. The styles I wanted weren't available in my sizes but she grabbed the sister dresses and I loved what she grabbed. David's bridal also has great prices, a great diamond program, and the store is clean and easy to access. This location was the best out of the three I visited in Southern California. Very clean and well lit and had a lot of staff working. I would recommend this store for your wedding gown and bridesmaids dresses, but their shoe selection was a little picked over (totally understand the supply chain delays these days). I saw a pair of shoes I liked but they didn't have my size so I ordered them, thinking that when I got them, if they didn't fit or look good with my dress, I could return them with no problem. Not the case. Their return policy does leave a little to be desired: I only had seven days to return from date of purchase even though I didn't actually have them in my possession for almost a month. They didn't fit. I didn't have my receipt when I picked them up, again, figuring the fact they could see that I ordered them and paid for them would be sufficient for a return. It wasn't. I did take the receipt and shoes to my local David's to return and was informed that not only could I not return them because of the date purchased, but I couldn't even get store credit. I had to do an even exchange. I did spend almost an hour looking at other shoes and accessories but the selection of those items wasn't great, either. It was a little disappointing knowing that even though I bought the shoes from David's and had a receipt (and that they would almost certainly be able to sell them with their shoe selection in-store being what it was) that I had to leave with $80 shoes that I won't be wearing. So just be sure you understand their return policy when it comes to ordering anything from them......this probably goes for wedding dresses and you could be out thousands of dollars instead of just $80. read more

I went in for a dress for my wedding. Julian was my stylist and from start to finish he was absolutely amazing. He picked out some dresses within my budget and when I asked about payment plans, he told me they do have them, and so I was able to expand on what dresses I could choose from. I only tried on 4 or 5 before he brought me the ONE. He then styled the veil, belt and head piece I chose for my gown. It was perfect. I almost cried. I am so happy with my purchase! If I was rating on my first experience with this store, it would be 1 star. Fabiola was a bit pushy and Steven was insanely judgey. I'm not really sure how someone who so desperately needed his manicure fixed could place so much judgment on anyone else. I walked out of there with a dress purchased with major regret and a dire need for a vacation in the Bahamas. The consultant pushed multiple times that the dress should be purchased that day because it would probably not be available if i waited. This was my first time looking at dresses. She brought dress styles I specifically said I was not interested in. Steven seemed put out to even be bothered to be a work that day. Upon picking up my regret dress, I hated it. Olivia was absolutely AMAZING! She took time with us and let me try on a different dress for fun, it really brightened my previous bad experience. She assured us that the dress was exchangeable within my 60 days. Great experience! She needs a raise! Our third experience with this store exceeded my expectations! Grace and Kaelya (i think that's how her name is spelled!) were the beyond perfect! They took their time to help me find EXACTLY what I was looking for! Above all, they listened to me. They took my venue and whole vibe into consideration. They didn't push their own opinions on me. I never felt judged! Between these two ladies and Olivia, I would recommend this store! Just be aware who your consultants are. If you get a bad vibe, ask for someone else. Don't feel pressure to purchase that day...my original dress was still available when I went back...my first visit was back in October. I'm not sure what the rush was considering it's now March and it was obviously still able to order! I would understand if it was a clearance dress. Apparently, her number one goal was to make a sale. Soft Floral Lace Sheath Gown with Blush Lining DB STUDIO SDWG0622 I am so disappointed at the quality of this dress!!! Wearing this dress at my wedding was so embarrassing! I not only paid $250 for the dress (was not on sale at the time), but I paid an extra $75 to add worthless "sleeves". They added cheap tule sleeves that I was ok with because it didn't look as bad on. As I was walking out the door to go to the church my sleeves completely unraveled and came of the front and back of both! I had no choice but to hold them with safety pins! Then as I'm about to walk down the aisle, I feel strings around my legs, it was the dress unraveling!!! I had giant holes in the dress! I was so embarrassed! I was in tears! I understand I did not pay $2,500 for a wedding gown but I was hoping $300 dress would at least make it down the aisle! Ladies save your money and embarrassment. The only thing the dress is good for is Halloween. (It might not even survive the whole night) Everyone in store was really nice and welcoming when I came in for my appointment. They treated me like a princess. Then when I went to go pick up my dress they pointed to the back and said "it's back there". After confirming the alterations and signing the pick up papers they said "ok, you can go" no bag no hanger or anything for my dress. When I asked for at least a bag, they responded with "you can purchase a garment bag in the front". Picking up my dress should be just as magical as trying it on. read more
