This is like every corporate retail store, just a lot of shitty and unorganized. The bridal industry is cruel and geared towards making the most money they can. So when David's Bridal has an opportunity to not take care of their brides and make their special day NOT special they really do take the cake and make it their top priority. Every time I go into this store, I wish I hadn't. I wish I never sent my bridesmaids here to get their gowns, because they were more affordable compared to where I got my dress. The lack of knowledge the girls have there and the fact they require "appointments" is stupid, especially when I am browsing for shoes or small items. I came in here with one bridesmaid on a whim one day because her schedule is all over the place and she works nights- she needed to be fitted and wanted to try the gown on. It was just her so I figured why not. We walk in, I tried calling prior to get an appointment and they never answered the phone.. no one was in the store (guests, I mean) so I thought might as well get measured get the dress and it will be a fast transaction. I was told they could measure her, but because we did not have an appointment they couldn't get the dress for me-- I had to find it myself.. in her size... in the endless amounts of clothing racks.. the girls were huddled around the front talking, why was no one helping me?! My bridesmaids will look gorgeous, but the material of the gown and the color is not what the swatch was when I picked it. I asked if I could return or just get a different dress and they said no. I mean- I ordered "quartz" which is a mauve and it came out a light purple/pink... also, when you order shoes- they never are the correct size even when trying them on in store. My visit to this place was about 2 years ago, but I doubt it has changed any. First of all, there were no chairs for my mother to sit in. There was one, but it was being occupied by another mother. My consultant, whose name I believe to be Erin- was MIA for a majority of my appointment. My mother is a no frills type of person and did not know how to help me with the dresses, so I spent much of my time standing around, looking for my consultant. This is ridiculous. Yes, it was busy but it was also a Saturday. They should have been adequately staffed. I also don't think that the staff was professionally dressed. I would have hoped that for spending several hundred dollars, you would get someone helping you that at least looked to care about her appearance, but this was not the case. Don't go here, people. I ended up at New York bride at the reccomendation of a friend who was also getting married and could not have been happier with my experience there. Don't assume that because you are at the walmart of bridal shops that you are going to get the best bang for your buck there. At New York Bride, I spent around $650 on my dress including alterations. A comparable dress at David's would have cost me about $400 more. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! read more

I came to David's bridal today looking for a dress for my junior prom that is coming up this spring. I arrived slightly aggravated because I had just come from Boom Babies on Westcott street where the customer service was downright terrible! From the moment I stepped into David's bridal until the moment I left, I was treated kindly by friendly associates! A great woman named Mera assisted me during my visit. She was extremely helpful; willing to zip up my dresses, get me shoes to try on and make sure that I was well taken care of throughout my visit. She offered great tips and suggestions and tended to any need that I had. This is my second time shopping at David's bridal in Syracuse and both experiences have been nothing but wonderful! My daughter had an 11AM appointment yesterday, smack in the middle of the Memorial Day weekend. She was returning a dress she had purchased at another David's Bridal and was offered the opportunity to use her store credit to purchase other items. A bit later later, she came out with two dresses (shower and rehearsal dinner), underpinnings, jewelry, and even a dress for me! We honestly went in there thinking this was a job we had to get done, and ended up having an absolutely joyful experience. Stylist Donna was just exceptional and went far, far beyond what one might expect, especially considering this was all based on a return.What a great lady! I did not note the manager's name, but she was delightful and helpful as well. This set the tone for our day, and we thank you so much. Just for all of the future brides out there I'm sharing my experience so no one else goes through the same experience I did. I actually wish there was an option to rate this place zero stars. I walked in and my consultant DONNA was rude from the start. She threw dresses at me, gave me no attention and no help at all. This experience is supposed to be a happy one but it was far from it. Her demeanor was so awful the entire time I felt very uncomfortable. At the end she through the last dress at me and said "that's all I have for you" at this point I was in tears. My mother and bridesmaids went to the manager to voice our concern and the issue wasn't acknowledged and I didn't event get an apology. My bridesmaids were with me and had an appointment to try on dresses for themselves afterwards and we collectively decided to cancel because we were all just so appalled. Ugh, this place is awful! My friend from high school was getting married in Syracuse, so I decided to buy my bridesmaid's dress from this David's Bridal since my parents live in Syracuse, and the Philadelphia David's Bridal is really far away from where I live now in Center City. I made a bridesmaid (as opposed to a bride) appointment, but apparently that meant nothing. When I arrived, I was met with a very confused employee, who asked me repeatedly for my name and couldn't seem to find me on the list. Finally they pointed out another employee who was supposed to be my "consultant." However, she probably spent a total of 5 minutes with me--she just pointed to a rack of dresses and then promptly disappeared. Thank goodness I had my mom with me to help me pull dresses and find other sizes, because this employee was absolutely no help. When I finally found a suitable dress, I tracked down the employee to ask if they had any shawls or sweaters to match. They had 2--one was in an XS size only, and the other was just a piece of gauze. Not helpful. David's Bridal makes you pay the full cost up front for the dress, even though it takes about 6 weeks to get the dress. So I paid, and asked if they could ship the dress to my Philadelphia address. They charged me an extra $15 and took down my address. The women working the register had to ask about 3 times how to spell "Philadelphia." Apparently these things are very difficult. About 6 weeks later, I received an email saying that the dress was in, and that I needed to pick it up in the store. I called the store to confirm that they were still shipping it. I was reassured that the dress would be shipped the next day. A week goes by, and no dress. I call again. They suddenly have no record that the dress needs to be shipped, and can't find my address. I give it to them again, and they assure me the dress will ship the next business day. A few more days go by, and STILL no dress. I call AGAIN. They say "oh, the dress is still here... sorry, we're just so busy!" Needless to say, I was pretty angry, especially because the wedding was coming up and I needed to try the dress on to make sure it was OK! Finally, the dress arrives. Luckily it fit fine, but I will NEVER go to David's Bridal again! read more

Despite the other reviews, I'm going to step in and say that David's Bridal really isn't all that bad. Maybe it's because I am super laid-back and able to take all of this ridiculous wedding business with a grain of salt, or maybe it's because I did my research before coming in (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you browse the DB website and read dress reviews there to help inform your choices). Was my consultant bubbling over with enthusiasm and joy? No, but I wasn't either (I may be the bride, but something about paying ridiculous amounts of money for a mountain of ridiculous-looking tulle just makes me want to laugh - I can assume it must be the same for those stuck selling said mountains of fluff). I came in with my mother (who really did nothing but sob with each dress I put on) and my best friend (who helped strap me into the dresses and helped me make my decision), as well as a clear-cut idea of what I wanted (simple, vintage-looking, tea-length). I was matched with my consultant (whose name I can't remember) almost immediately, and she pulled the four or five dresses that fit my description, as well as a full-length gown my friend INSISTED I try on. My consultant was pretty quiet the whole time, and did nothing to help me into the dresses, but that's fine because I'd rather have my bestie do it, anyways. I ended up choosing the full-length gown, and brought it elsewhere to be altered to tea-length, as DB will not alter a dress THAT much (but honestly, that's not a big deal, and I can understand their concerns). The dress (on sale!) and undergarments came in at under $600, AND I was able to take the dress home that day. So, to have a successful experience at David's Bridal, I would suggest the following: 1. Check the website and choose dresses you like. Have a list for your consultant. 2. Bring somebody with you to help you out. 3. Remember: Ain't no shame in buying a wedding dress on sale. You're only gonna wear that shit once, anyways. 4. DO NOT walk in with flowery, glitter-encrusted dreams of an experience similar to that you would get at a high-end bridal boutique. Remember that you are in a big-box store. You will not be spending a day modeling haute couture while your consultant fawns over you. If you're cool with trying on a couple dresses and getting out of there quickly, this is the place for you. read more

If I could give less than one star, I would. I mistakenly made my first ever bridal gown shopping appointment at David's Bridal in Syracuse, a roughly 100 mile round trip for me. My experience with the sales associate Erin was less than stellar. In a nutshell, I made an appointment to browse the store myself and left to my own devices. As a clueless, first time gown shopper, I was lost in this store. I came ready with a list of THREE dresses I wanted to try on from their website. It took forever for her to locate these, all in the wrong size. They made a determination on my size based on my bra size and pant size, which they asked me openly in front of another bridal party. Apparently they feel that people have no modesty whatsoever. My bra size is proportionally so much bigger than my pants size, but they tried to convince me that I would be the smaller of the two. WRONG! I begrudgingly tried on my first "wrong size" dress. Without being able to zip it up, with my undergarments exposed, Erin tried to coax me out of the dressing room to see it in a mirror in a store full of people. I was very embarrassed. She held it together so I could see it in the corner of a mirror that was blocked by other dresses she had hanging up. Even if the dress fit and wanted to see it in full view, I couldn't, because there was a bride on the pedestal in front of my door. The rest of the appointment went down hill. My maid of honor and I were left with the "right size" dresses she finally found, and that was it. We had to take every dress out of the garment bag ourselves, we had to fumble on putting them on and zippering/buttoning them up, and had to work as a team to put them back in the garment bags and trade them in and out of the dressing room. I finally found one I liked, but yet again, it was too small. We had to wait for what seemed like ages in a closet sized dressing room filled with dresses sweating profusely for Erin to reappear. Where she was, who the heck knows? She returned with the dress which had intricate buttons down the back and left again.... leaving my maid of honor to help me with that. I came out of the dressing room, the pedestal now free, and just... stood there. Erin was nowhere to be found AGAIN, to offer her opinion, help or advice. The associate helping the bride next to me complimented me on it. I then went back into my dressing room. I heard Erin say through the door that she hadn't "seen me in a while". HA! I certainly wasn't hiding in the dressing room, it was her that was MIA. At that point, I decided that I was done. I would have liked to maybe try on dresses that were more the style of the one I liked, but all I had left were one's I didn't want to try on and I wasn't about to go search through the racks AGAIN. I got dressed and my maid of honor helped sort the dresses out and hang them back up in the bags. I was ready to just walk out. Why am I wasting my time waiting for Erin at this point? After a few minutes, my maid of honor sees her coming from a distance, and as she comes closer, we see Erin with COFFEE AND MCDONALDS in her hand. I truly believe she was going to keep walking right past us hadn't she noticed the annoyed look on my face. She made a comment saying that her manager sent her to "run errands" for her, and she said "let me set this down" after seeing the look on my face. I told her I liked one of the dresses and one of the bridesmaids dresses that my maid of honor tried on. She said if I decided to come back it would "all be in the file". And that was that. She was completely uninterested in me and my maid of honor who through all of this was trying on dresses, in the same small dressing room that was filled to the brim. She was nowhere to be found during 95% of my appointment and was of no help at all. If I were to buy a dress there, all of the commission made should have gone to my lovely maid of honor for her help and keeping me sane. My first shopping experience for my wedding dress was ruined by Erin and David's Bridal. I will not be wasting my time, or money, there again. read more

Yesterday I tried calling the store to ask for my bridesmaid size to order her dress. Not only did I need to call the store 3 times in order to reach a customer representative to speak with, but they also did not have the information I needed. When I went in August to look at dresses I asked the stylist several times if the information would be logged for future use and was assured several times it would. Let me say three things up front: 1. I have shopped at David's Bridal shops before in Chicago (where I live) and have had a lovely experience. 2. I was only going to this one in Syracuse because I am from upstate New York which is where my family and college friends live and I wanted them to dress shop with me. 3. I had a lot of fun shopping for my dress, spending time with friends/family and really enjoyed my day; This was in SPITE OF the employees of this David's Bridal . Now that that's out of the way, let me regale you with the craptastic experience I have had with this location. Understanding that it's a David's Bridal and that I made my appointment on a Saturday, I expected it to be busy and I knew that my attendant would be working with me and one other person. We arrived 10 minutes before my appointment where I was told to wait for someone to meet with me. About 20 minutes later, someone finally came over but not to help me buy a dress, rather to coerce me into getting my fiance's tux at Men's Warehouse. It was another 10 minutes before dress shopping began. My attendant couldn't have cared less about me, my questions or what I wanted and at some points actually seemed mad at me which was just a real treat. I had printed out some David's Bridal styles that I liked with their item numbers and was trying to explain which ones I was most interested in but about two words into that the attendant snatched the book away and commanded I follow her. It's how I imagine the military would make someone shop for a dress... you know, angry and no fun at all. She was racing through the racks grabbing dresses and telling me that she's busy with another bride so my friends and family are going to have to pull my dresses for me. I started to ask how they'd find the right ones but was quickly shut up. We get the dresses to the dressing room and my head is spinning. She tells me to "get settled". I have no idea what this means to her. Yes, I'm an adult human who's been in a dressing room before so I generally know what's up but I assumed she'd be helping me get in and out of these monstrosities of fabric. She just said, "get settled" in response to every question I asked so eventually I gave up and she wondered away. I called my best friend over since she had purchased her dress from this place and she dove into the dressing room to help me. Meanwhile, my sister was navigating through dresses to find the ones I was most interested in trying on. My friend and I get a dress on and I start to head out to show everyone and the attendant chick sees me and freaks out. "You can't go out there until I check you over!!!" she shouted whilst shoving me back in the dressing room. She literally did nothing and then opened the door again. This scenario would repeat itself for every dress I tried on. If it hadn't been for my friends and family helping me, I fundamentally don't know how I would have found a dress. Cut to, the dress has been found, I've done the ridiculous bell ringing/wish ceremony and I'm at the register where my attendant tells me I have to order the dress online. I was like, "Okay. Order it and ship it to my house in Indiana." She hands me an iPad to do it myself. The entire time I'm doing this the attendant is standing over me cooing about how good I am at knowing my address; it's literally the most attention she's given me all day. I get that all done and need to pay for the accessories which takes, no one's kidding here, 45 minutes. Finally, someone else comes over to help and my attendant grabs her manager to start complaining that she doesn't think she's going to get her commission on my dress because I ordered it myself online. "Frankly," I thought, "I hope you don't. We should get your commission because we did all the work!". So, now everything is paid for and is set to be sent to my house in Indiana... or so I thought. It's at this point my attendant gets back in the fray to hand me my preservation kit and I was like, "Can you just ship this with everything else?" To which she says, "You might as well just take it today rather than waiting to pick it up when you pick everything else up." I explain, for the seventh time, that I live in Indiana so everything needs to be shipped to me. She spends about ten minutes trying to find out if one of my friends can pick it up instead. I say no. Finally, after another $15, it's set to be shipped to me. A month after all this, I had the dress but not the accessories. So I call and they say they haven't shipped them but will on Friday (I called on a Tuesday). I waited two weeks and called again and they still hadn't been shipped but swore they were going out that day. As of now, it's been 45 days and I have no confidence in them sending me the right stuff. As an aside, I did ask if I could just pick it up at a local David's Bridal... they said no because it would be too hard to call one of them. In summation, don't go to this David's Bridal. read more

I went with my soon to be sister in law to find her perfect wedding dress and we had a wonderful experience. Lady helped my brother's fiance feel beautiful and special, just the way she should. Not only that, but she found a dress that Amanda didn't want to take off, and she hates dresses. Lady is fantastic and I recommend making an appointment with her to any future bride. Amanda has her alterations appointment in 5 months, and hopefully that goes just as well. read more

I can finally talk about this I held this in for way to long. I would not recommend David's Bridal. I had such a bad experience not once but twice. I felt fat ugly and poor and they did not listen to me or care about my feelings. They don't care how you look they just want your money. I had a budget of like $300. The lady wasn't listening to me and kept throwing stuff at me that I didn't want. I told her I wanted a veil and she said I didn't know you wanted a veil. I said well I do want one then she said I don't know if you can afford one with your budget. That's none of your business and I was with a group you didn't know if it was a gift. This lady that was supposed to help me made feel awful about myself. I walked out with a dirty filthy dress. It was my bday / Easter weekend. I wanted to do something nice for myself. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. I felt like they threw me in the corner and just threw dresses at me. I said I had undergarments the lady didn't listen to me once again and she came with a corset something else I didn't need. I didn't get to pick out my shoes or my veil. I was told the dresses I want to try one weren't in my size. I did have a breakdown in the dressing room. I did email corporate and I did leave a bad review as soon I got home. I didn't feel like a bride that day. I just felt like I wasn't good enough. I just felt like here peasant this what you can afford deal with it and btw you have to clean your own dress. I never got fluffed or got use the pedestal stool. I was so hurt by this whole experience. Seeing the other brides look so beautiful and happy and I wasn't. I just felt like what I am doing here? I didn't feel anything just numb and depressed. When I got to the car I cried the whole way home. Angel my fiancé felt so bad for me and said it's ok we will get a beautiful dress that you deserve. It really was a bad experience that I never wanted to go dress shopping again. I had a redo because corporate felt so bad. Once again they didn't listen to me they did what they wanted to do. My new dress didn't fit me like it was supposed to. They had to get some work on it. I had to go out of my way to buy the fabric. I told them I needed some work where my boobs are. It was to big under my arms. It needed to altered. They never fixed the under arms part. It was still big. They had the nerve to ask me for more money. When I dropped off the fabric I gave Davids money. When I went to pick off the dress they only did the back panel. They never fixed the under arm part. Then they wanted to charge me more money for the work they never did. To make the dress fit the way it was supposed to. I refuse to go to another David's Bridal. The first experience was traumatizing and the second experience was great until they botched my dress. I was told if I lose weight and pull the panel strings tight the dress would look fine. Once again I'm being fat shamed. I did lose some weight and I still feel ugly and fat in in this dress. It doesn't fit me right. So I had no choice but to bite the bullet and look for another dress. I refuse to wear that dress from David's. I went to this other bridal shop I was there for 3 hrs. I eventually found a beautiful dress and I didn't feel like I was poor, fat or ugly in. I did spend a little more money then I wanted but it was still in the price range I was comfortable with. Plus I got to enjoy the fluffing of the dress and the pedestal stool. I had tried on so many dresses all different sizes and styles. I felt beautiful and listened too but most importantly I was respected. You should never feel fat, ugly or poor. You should always feel like you matter and you deserve this beautiful dress. It doesn't matter what kind of occasion it is or the budget. You should always feel beautiful and you deserve this! Don't let people put you down or make you feel bad about yourself. I can't tell how many dresses I tried on and how many shops I went to because of this experience. I was clueless on what to do because I couldn't find a dress. I thought about canceling the wedding and everything. Things are looking up and I know I'm going to look beautiful. Thank you David's Bridal for the worst experience because now I know how a real bride is supposed to be treated and to be displayed. P.S. I looked amazing on that pedestal stool no matter what shop I was in. With covid and life it took me 2 years to find another dress. I'm telling you all this because nobody I mean nobody deserves this kind of treatment. After I bought my new dress I was still shaking from the whole experience. read more

Update: I went back to David's Bridal 2 weeks after leaving it there for alterations and was told there was no record of my request for alterations. They gave me a slip promising I would have my dress in a week. The week mark was 3 days ago. I didn't receive a phone call so I called them. Again, I am being told no record exists of my changes. I am lowering my rating from 3 stars to 2 stars. ----------------------- I went to David's Bridal with my maid of honor over the weekend and absolutely loved the one and only dress I tried on. I had looked at all the dresses online prior to coming in and had 2 that I wanted to try on. My first pick was available, my second pick was not and having tried on my first pick, I don't think I would have bothered to try on the second. This dress is exactly what I wanted. I was so happy! That being said, when I went to DB it was on a Saturday so it was very very busy. The young lady who was assigned to assist us asked what dresses I wanted to see, I gave her the 2 numbers, she asked if there were any other dresses I wanted to see. I told her I wanted to try those 2 first and then maybe look? She said that's not how appointments work. You have to select all dresses first, which I thought was odd.....Anyway, I ended up just asking to see the specific one I had come to see originally. She gave us our dress and basically walked away. I think she was also looking after a number of other clients so she was running back and forth. We didn't know where to put the dress after we were done and stood there for about 5 minutes waiting for her to come around again. She politely asked if we wanted to have the dress saved under my profile. I said yes and she said we were all set then and that she would update my profile details. I called 2 days later asking after that specific dress and they said they found my profile but no dress details. It was a good thing I'd written everything down and was able to rattle off all the details. They were actually out of stock for my dress at their warehouse but they were able to find one left (could've been a sales tactic) available at the store. I asked her to please hold it for me and that I would come to pick it up at the end of the day. She sounded hesitant but said she could hold it for me for one day only. I read horror stories about people doing alterations at DB so I am not even going to try it there. Will find a local seamstress to take care of it. If you have an idea of what you want and don't mind waiting a little for service, DB is a great place to try. read more

Terrible, terrible customer service! Im on the phone asking if they have a dress on a certain color and size regardless what style it is. Ive been calling stores in different areas coz my wedding is on sunday already and a bridesmaid needs a dress asap. All the other store doesnt take this long to check if they have the dress or not coz im pretty sure they just check it on their computer. Ive been placed on hold for 40 freaking minutes. Tried hanging up and called back. The woman said she need few more minutes to search for it. She puts me back on hold saying she needs few more minutes to search. After 10 mins, she got back to me telling me they dont have anything. Its almost an hour for nothing and i never experienced this in other davids bridal! Total waste of time! read more

It was interesting. My apt was for 11:30 on a Saturday. When I went to schedule the appointment online there were a ton of openings but when I got to the store it was chaos. The store was packed and the consultant I was assigned to had to take care of multiple people. From walking into the store at 11:30 I was done trying on dresses at 1:40 and had only gotten to try on 2 dresses. I don't blame the consultant, she was very nice but they just try and pack so many people in there that you barely get any attention at all trying to pick out a wedding dress. My advise would be to try and go on a weekday maybe it won't be as crazy. read more

I would like to say shopping here was a wonderful experience! I found my wedding dress today (toting a party of 6!) and had a spectacular time. Shannon was my specialist for the duration of my appointment, and she just had the best attitude!! So professional, and friendly. I am a bigger girl and she knew just what to pull to make me feel like a princess! She was quick finding options for me that fit my style, and I couldn't have been happier. I thought I would spend a few more trips hunting down my perfect dress, and I found it within an hour, AND got it on sale to boot! Not only was the customer service outstanding, the dresses were all so beautiful, and there were so many options (as bigger girls will know, dress hunting can be dreadful!) I am only a little sad that I will not have this experience again! read more

My Fiancé went to David's Bridal because of their reputation and their selection, she took her business and had all of her Brides Maids also go their to get dresses. It was nothing short of a nightmare from the start. Every time she tried a dress on, the stylist left her to go to someone else so when she came out of the dressing room her and her bridesmaids had to sit there and wait for her to return. Her original trip lasted over 5 hours with most of it consisting of siting and waiting for the stylist to return. They had her order a dress a size bigger than she needed because they "run small". When she returned for the fitting, they never checked to see if it needed to be taken in on the sides. So after altering the dress for a month and a half, she went to pick the dress up and it didn't fit because it was too big, they claimed that SHE would have to pay for it to be taken in or she would have to order a new dress, but if she ordered the original dress she had in a size smaller, it couldn't arrive in time for our wedding so she had to order a completely different dress. They blamed everyone but themselves for this, instead of altering her dress because they messed up, she had to order a dress she didn't even want. They lost her dress bag and never gave her things that she asked for. We also ordered our daughter a dress for the wedding and after a month and a half claimed they couldn't get it here in time, so we had to order a completely different one for her as well. I called to speak with a manager on more than one occasion and kept getting "We will have to have her call you back".... I'm still waiting for those phone calls. We're very disappointed with David's and will NEVER recommend them to anyone. Not one time during this whole situation did they take responsibility for this or apologize. read more

I gave David's Bridal 2 starts because even though I hated this place, I know it may be great for someone else. The dresses are fairly inexpensive, so if you are looking for a good deal, this is the right place to be. It's not nice...the fitting rooms are small...and the customer service is lousy. However, they have a ton of cheap dresses (not cheap cheap, but cheaper than other places). The woman I was working with, was really terrible. She actually FORCED me to try on dresses with a strapless bra, even though I said I do no want to wear a strapless bra. She was very insistent, so I kept it on for a while, but ended up taking it off and basically yelling at her telling her that I was not going to wear one and that she can't make me. David's Bridal is a joke. I'm a bridesmaid for a wedding in Buffalo, but living in Syracuse right now so decided to go to this store. My first complaint is the consultant that was assigned to help me. She was extremely spacey and awkward. It made me feel really uncomfortable and like I was having to do her job for her. As I tried on the dress she said she was going to find the sash for the dress that the bride had wanted. When I came out of the dressing room she was no where to be found and my mom had to go find her. When my mom got her I asked if she found the sash and she goes "oh yeah I'm working on that". So as we're all awkwardly standing there she wasn't giving me any instruction on what to do next. I had never been there before and didn't know how to actually order the dress. So I asked her and she answered me as she was staring around the room. When I went to the desk to order the dress the cashier was less than pleasant. She asked me if I wanted to pay for the dress, which lead me to assume I could pay for it when I picked it up. So when I asked her if I could pay for some of it now she says no we require full payment on the dress. Then why did you ask if I wanted to pay for it now? Like there were some other options. A couple of weeks later I receive a voicemail saying my order is ready to be picked up. I was surprised that it was so quick, but I had never done this before so I figured this is just how things were done. I go there to pick up the dress and apparently it was only the sash that came in. So I drove thirty minutes to pick up a sash when I was told my order was ready which I assumed was actually my whole order. When it is my time to get married I will go elsewhere with sales consultants who are knowledgeable and know how to interact with others. read more

Totaly pleased with the service received at Davids bridal! my daughter actually purchased her gown from there and when she went to her first fitting she found out that the alterations she was expecting them to make could not be done..she was so upset and unhappy. the manager came to her before we left there and assured her that he would make her happy. They allowed her to pick out a new dress that she was overwhelmingly satisfied with! Shannon assisted her on both occassions and was a pleasure to work with! They refunded her and discounted her new dress and shoes! i even found a mother of the bride dress! I cannot wait for this wedding!! read more

I would like to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to the staff at this David's Bridal. I came here in November 2014 to look for my wedding dress. I was extremely nervous and shaky and the girl I worked with, Shannon, was very patient and understanding and even told me if I wasn't ready, she would explain to everyone waiting that we weren't going to do this today. Eventually I bought a dress that day, but when I went back for my fitting the first weekend of May I hated it. I hated how I looked, I hated how heavy it was, I hated the top of it and almost everything about it. I was dying to take it off. I decided the next day I owed it to myself to look for something new if I was that unhappy with my dress. I called the store and spoke with the manager, Will, and he was incredibly helpful. He started out telling me all sales are final, but I think he sensed I was getting upset and quickly changed his tone and did everything he could do help. He flat out asked me, "what can I do to make this better for you?" Eventually he told me to come back in and shop again and he would make an exception and let me do an even exchange. He even said "don't worry about anything, we will fix it." That weekend I went back and again the consultant, Alex, was UNBELIEVABLY helpful and patient. I was there shopping for about 4 hours while she was juggling other appointments and she never once lost her cool. She put up with me going back and forth on two dresses for hours and was beyond nice about it. When I finally found one I loved, this store did not have it in the color I wanted, pure white. They only had champagne which I was not thrilled about. Not only did the store look to see if any other stores in the entire state, or online, had it, but they were able to find one at a store in Kentucky that had the right size in white. The consultant told me that they would have to work out some complications before knowing if they could do the exchange because it had to be approved by a district manager of something of the sort. She went to talk with her manager and when she came back, she told me that because they knew it was a dress I loved so much, they weren't even going to worry about getting approval. They were just going to let me do the exchange with that store to get that dress, no questions asked, and could ship it to me in a week. Although I ended up just getting the champagne color, their efforts were amazing and they went so far out of their way to make me happy. This consultant Alex deserves a huge raise for what I saw her put up with from me and other customers simultaneously. The alterations department also deserves credit because the sash I really loved had jewels, but I wanted it plain. They told me they would order me the sash and do alterations to remove the beads and make it a plain sash. This store has been so amazing to me throughout this experience. I never expected to be one of those people who goes back 2 months before their wedding to buy a new dress, but because of this David's Bridal I was able to do that and find a dress I truly love and can't wait to wear at my wedding. Thank you, thank you, thank you a million times over and over again to everyone at this store who was so patient and helped me settle what could have been a major wedding crisis. Went here for a bridesmaid dress-tried it on in September. Went to order it in October and they said my information and the brides info was not in the computer. I had the bride call to get it straightened out. Went to order the same dress yet again in December and my info was in the computer however the associate was asking for the style # of the dress, which size I wanted to order, the color and the length. Isn't that Her job? I knew none of this info since I tried the dress on 4 months ago and I'm currently looking for bridesmaid dresses for my own wedding. Extremely unorganized, and I'm highly disappointed because I found a wedding dress there I absolutely love, but will not purchase it there due to the lack of professionalism. Horrible experience at the alteration department. I had an appointment for 5pm. I was greeted by a woman who informed me she would get me started with my fitting but her shift was ending and I would be turned over to another seamstress. I had no issue with this. My daughter and I were sent to the back of the store by this woman " its back there- you will figure out where to go". I changed into my dress and waited approximately another 10 Min. The same woman who directed us back there again reminded me her shift was over 10 minutes ago and then said " oh you only need a hem go ahead and stand over there" There was another bride there, as well as a seamstress who was working on her dress. The two employees preceded to get into argument about who was going to stay late to finish my alterarions. The woman assigned to me said it should be the other seamstress because " my shift ended 20 minutes ago". They continued to bicker in front of me, my family and the other bride. I mentioned that I felt the top of my dreas felt loose and I was told " Im the expert and I say its not to loose- but if you want it tighter thats fine but it's on you if doesnt fit". She then left the room and answered a phone call. She was telling whoever was on the other line " I told you I am too busy to do this today. Besides that my shift is over. We will have to try to do it tomorrow" All of this in a very nasty tone of voice. She then came out with an i pad with a bunch of lines and boxes and handed it to me- " Thats what it will cost". I was given zero explanation of any of the fees. At this point I told this woman I was uncomfortable with this entire encounter and I was ending it and leaving. She was angry and said " This is ridiculous". I explained my concerns to the store manager, who also informed me she was also there past her shift. She seemed sympathetic and tried to rectify the issue. However, she informed me that the woman who had been so nasty and unprofessional to me, was the manager of the alterations department! This is when I said there is no way I am coming back here and took my dress and we left. Do not waste your time with this store. i have talked to several other people who have been VERY disappointed. My current independent seamstress said " I hear this all the time- I dont know how they are still in business". Quite frankly neither do I. read more

I've bought several dresses over the year from David's Bridal for small events. The staff at this location as well as others have always been very nice even when the store was super busy. Usually, they went above and beyond customer service at other stores. Sure, the quality isn't always the same, but the dress will most likely look like a J.crew dress! read more

Visited the store during a busy weekend morning, with an appointment. They assigned two brides to one stylist, which is an awful idea. She spent most of the time with the other bride, since she had family with her (a bit more demanding) and I was alone. With two brides, there is barely enough time to dress and undress one girl before having to go to other and you can forget about any personalized help as far as dress selection. The stylist seemed very tired and rushed - which of course she was! I felt bad for her, and also frustrated and sad with the experience - which should have been a fun one. The only time I was shown any real attention is when I was ready to leave without buying... I will say the manager was great in offering to order a dress to the store with a full refund if I didn't like it (I did have to pay upfront). My tips for the sales staff would be: one bride per stylist and perhaps the purchase of ipads. Most brides select their favorites online and it is also an easier way to browse selections than wandering through piles of tulle and lace in the storeroom. Tips for customers: Go in having done your homework with at least 3 dresses in mind. Call the store ahead of time to see if the designs are in stock and rework your plan, if necessary. Also, be strong, and stick to your gut. Don't give into pressure from the sales staff or whoever else! The best thing about David's is the prices. If you're looking for a deal, you'll need to look beyond some of the service-related negatives. read more

Updating my experience, now after the wedding. If you want a review of my experience at the store itself, please check the earlier review. Ordered my dress in a slightly smaller size, it came MONTHS before expected arrival date! That was pretty amazing, I had plenty of time to make sure the dress was perfect and fit perfectly. When you pick up your dress, and you ordered slightly smaller, be prepared for a note to come with the dress saying that "we recommended a higher size." Don't be offended, this is just so you don't try returning it if you can't fit! ;) It was beautiful, fit like a glove the day of, I couldn't have been happier with the dress. High quality material and well put together. Just gorgeous. The bridesmaid dresses were gorgeous as well. Fit each bridesmaid perfectly, and I ordered them online :) They were pretty much true to size, smaller if anything. Highly recommend David's Bridal if you're a resourceful gal. Look for deals and specials, know what you want. You don't have to spend thousands for it to look like you did. Might not be the perfect place for someone who's looking for a stylist to make the decisions. Or for someone who wants to be serviced well and needs help picking out the dress. My mom, sister and I searched together, and the entire search and try on took about an hour. It was very efficient. This place is definitely for a girl who doesn't really want too much help from the employees and isn't afraid to search those racks herself and find what she wants. DB is not Klinefelds, you are not going to receive the same treatment as they show on TV, and you shouldn't expect to! That being said, I thought this location was just fine. My mother didn't really like the girl that was helping me, but I really had no issue with her. I went in, fill out a sheet of paper, and then was sent to dresses to take a look on my own - exactly what I wanted to do. I was asked if I needed help or undergarments or anything, but I didn't. I was able to locate each of the dresses I wanted to see and I was done shopping within 30 minutes. Thinking that was too quick, I went back to the racks and picked out a few more (including one way over my budget that was just beautiful). I asked about dresses without trains and my consultant showed me some from the catalog. I tried on one, but it just wasn't me. In the end, I purchased the dress I went there looking for and spent under $300. I wish I could have tried on the dress in the size that I ordered, but they just didn't have it. I tried on an 8 and a 14 and we agreed that I was probably right in the middle, so I ordered a 10. I was assured by 2 different employees that if it really didn't fit I could exchange it for the next size up. I'm pretty sure it will be fine, everything that I tried on in a 10 fit or just about fit, but its nice to know that I wouldn't be SOL if it didn't. The only notable fault that I found was that they didn't have a 3 way mirror anywhere in the store! The consultant suggested a little trick with the mirrored doors that sort of worked, but wouldn't be possible had the place been busy. Oh, and go on a Monday after work. The place was dead. It was just me and two other brides - one of which came in as I was leaving. read more

She seemed hurried and not interested in helping us at all, but more interested in the fact that they were closing in an hour and a half. Will not return. I had an awful experience at Davids Bridal in Albany so I was very hesitant when I made my appointment at the Syracuse location. I was very pleasantly surprised to have such an amazing experience! My consultant was FABULOUS! She was patient, attentive and very helpful. She listened to what I liked or didn't like about a dress and was able to make suggestions which lead me to my dream dress. She was very positive and reasurring and made me feel beautiful. I have struggled with self esteem and confidence issues my entire life and I found a dress via her suggestion and fell in love. I made an appointment online to find a wedding gown. After signing in a bridal consultant named Unique met me at the front desk and had my "favorites" print out in her hand that I had selected online. After asking a few questions, she pulled dresses in a few different styles, because I wasn't sure what would work best for me. After trying on 3 different dresses, we narrowed down the style that I was most interested in and she brought me several others. She was very patient with me and my family and it was an excellent experience!! I couldn't make up my mind and she was fine with my thinking things over while my wedding party tried on dresses. Even though she was busy with other customers, I never felt rushed or unattended. I ended up purchasing a dress that day and will be asking for Unique again when I take all of my bridal party back to pick out their dresses. Everyone was very nice and very professional. I even had other consultants stop to see what I was trying on and offering opinions, which I needed! I would highly recommend this David's Bridal to anyone who asks and more specifically, Unique! read more

I scheduled an appointment for 2:00 on a Thursday. I arrived early and was promptly greeted by a lovely woman. The store was big and bright and they had a large selection of bridesmaid dresses. I was so lucky to have Shannon help me. She was professional, friendly and very helpful. She found the information for our party in the system and helped me try on dresses for sizing. We had a bit of a crisis with the color but Shannon had everything under control. She pulled out all of the stops and went through every possible scenario to help us find a solution. She even gave us advice on what to do with orders from other stores. She is the epitome of excellent customer service. I can't say enough about my experience in the shop. It was fantastic. read more

I went to David's Bridal last weekend with my mom to look for wedding dresses. It was one of the first places I had looked, and I only had a couple ideas of what I was looking for in a dress. We were assisted by Madi, who was great! She not only pulled dresses that I had asked for but she also showed me a couple different types of dresses that I wouldn't necessarily have grabbed off the rack myself, but I ended up loving them! She did a great job of explaining the designs and fits and really listening to what I liked and didn't like in a dress. I would highly recommend Madi.
