I was then told I would not be able to because they did not have this dress on line. This was a lie. I had a wonderful experience at Davids Bridal. Everyone was very nice and made me feel special while I was looking for my dress. Maryanne did a great job and found the perfect dress for me. It was elegant and affordable. I was even able to afford my bridesmaids dresses as well for a few of my girls. I came back to the store three times to pick out dresses for my bridesmaids. We has a great time, each time we came. My experience was consistent every time I came. The ladies in alterations were also wonderful. They listened to my concerns and made my dress fit perfect! I was nothing but happy with my outcome. They were a pleasure and didn't bat an eye when my young niece was running around like crazy. Even she had a blast! I had no worries about the fitting when I left the store. When I came back to pick up my dress they were again very nice and made sure everything was perfect! Thank you Davids bridal for making my experience truly memorable. In fact I would tell other brides to go there for their dresses! Do Not Go! I am a new bride and my first time ever looking for wedding dresses I came to David's Bridal on Niagara Falls BLVD. Upon entering I was greeted decently by a newer employee. I stated I had an appointment at 1:30. They told me I could start looking at dresses. Previously I made an online account stating what I was looking for. When the consultant Kim approached me, she did not introduce herself at all. I said " well this is awkward" and she then introduced herself. I showed her a few dresses I was interested in and the first thing she said was " I haven't had a break since 10:30. I felt very uncomfortable at this point. She took me in the back and measured me and then went out and picked dresses( which were non of the dresses I wanted besides 1). When I put the first one on she told me " you look to skinny for this dress t why does my opinion matter" I actually liked the dress a lot and she shot me down. Putting on the second dress she started to complain about how she hasn't been able to use the bathroom and that I'm her 4th bride today. My appointment was for 90 minutes and started at 1:30. At 2:15 she started asking me what time it was and starting saying things about how time is almost up when it wasn't at all. Upon my last dress she stated " this is your last dress, I quit." I felt like this is not an experience too ever have when trying too find the right dress. She wouldn't button up the dresses or tie them and at one point I had to hold the back closed so my skin didn't show and she replied " you must feel like you're in a hospital gown" she put me in size 6 dresses without tightening them and I'm a size 2. Her response was " well it will look different when it actually fits. Upon leaving she shook my hand and said " MY NAME IS KIM, THE ONE WITH NO BUTT, BOOBS, or MONEY" I felt very disrespected and felt like I wasted my time and she ruined my very first time ever looking for a wedding dress. read more

Dont buy your dress here. They dont care about your special day. They will pressure you into buying a dress. Tell you if you dont buy it now it will be too late etc. They will tell you if your a bigger woman you can lose the weight etc. You will get your dress and feel like a fool when your dress doesnt fit. I was very hesitant to go back to another David's Bridal after I had a terrible experience at the location in Syracuse NY, but I'm SO GLAD I gave it a second chance at this location. Luckily I made an appointment (for bridesmaid dresses) as when I walked in they were extremely busy. Although they were busy, they were still extremely kind and helpful and gave us their undivided attention during our appointment. I was looking for a prom dress for my senior prom. I went to a few stores and didn't find anything that really stood out to me so we decided to stop at David's bridal. Let me tell you, the prom selection is huge!! I tried on about 6 dresses and fell in love with almost all of them. All the employees are very welcoming and helpful. They helped me find the right size and brought back the right sizes in less than 5 min. The price is fairly reasonable and have promos all the time. I went to this location around 2pm yesterday to get fitted for a bridesmaid dress for a friend's wedding and it was the WORST, most GOD-AWFUL experience ever. I understand dropping in on a Saturday afternoon will be busy for a bridal store, but as I walked in, there was NO order to the front of the store. Ladies were all in groups, waiting to be spoken to and there were only 5 consultants helping. I was taken back to the dressing room after waiting 20 minutes to be helped and my fitting room consultant was very nice and helpful, got me my proper size and filled out my form. After going back to the front, we both waited to be helped by the front desk and when I finally got to the front register, the consultant types my info into the computer and she immediately says "I can't do it, sorry." I asked what she meant and she told me the dress was discontinued, wasn't available to be ordered/wasn't in stock, and that I should probably call my bride and try to work it out with her. Then she WALKS AWAY. Are you freaking kidding me?!? Who does that?!??The poor fitting room consultant was embarrassed and apologized, but also didn't do anything else to help. I walked out of the store completely annoyed and somewhat pissed with how the consultants handled the situation and practically ignored me after they encountered an issue. I called the David's Bridal Hamburg location and explained my situation and she immediately apologizes, explains that the dress is NOT discontinued but would take too long to come in, orders my dress in my correct size and color, gives me an estimated shipping date and recommends their tailoring service to me. THAT is how you conduct proper business and this women did all of this over the phone with me, in the middle of the afternoon, during her busy time. Whoever runs this location needs to shut down the store for an entire day and truly train their consultants the way they SHOULD be trained... To have order and organization within their store, approach every customer with respect and compassion, and approach issues that arise with poise, understanding and a little more gumption that just giving up and walking away from the customer. Please don't go to this location if you expect a decent experience, you won't get it! read more

I have been engaged for just over 3 years and we have FINALLY set a date. We are crash planning for 100 days from now. I was determined to find and purchase my dream dress for $99. I visited Davids on the Blvd and was paired with Brenda. She was very interested in knowing my goal. I told her, "I have a budget of $300, but I am going for $99. I prefer mermaid style, size 6." She was ready for me. Walked me through sale racks and said she would grab the rest. She assisted me in and out of all 8 dresses. She had great insight on things to be mindful of. She was fun and efficient. My Auntie was with me, and we enjoyed every minute with her. Within 1 HOUR, I not only said Yes to the Dress . . . . i was at my $99 goal. As other Yelpers have mentioned, David's Bridal does not provide the "Say Yes to the Dress" experience. Randy will not be coming to the rescue and David Tutera won't be playing your fairy godmother. Since I had been binge-watching wedding shows on Netflix, coming to this realization was a little disappointing. However, when I shut off the TV and came back to earth, I actually found my experience at David's to be really nice. After I got engaged, I promised my mom, aunt, cousin, grandma and future mother-in-law that we could all go shopping together. At the recommendation of a friend, I made an appointment at MA Carr since it was supposedly the best for bridal. Shortly after I made that appointment, I began doing a little research on the dresses MA Carr had to offer. I was horrified when I realized that almost every dress at MA Carr was seriously over of my budget. Panic ensued. I decided it was necessary to visit all the "lower end" bridal boutiques in the area before our upcoming appointment at MA Carr. David's was the first place on my list. My mom and I popped in on a Saturday morning without an appointment. Upon walking in, we were told that we were welcome to look around but that all the consultants were currently busy. Fair enough. Although there were many, MANY hideous, disgusting, unwearable dresses, there were also a couple handfuls of beautiful ones as well. The Vera Wang line in particular was lovely. After searching through all the dresses, I found three that I wanted to try on and luckily someone was able to help me. The first dress I tried was unique, beautiful, over 50% off, and in my size. I was shocked that I found something so special (and affordable) so quickly. Even though I loved the dress, I didn't want to commit to anything just yet. So, over the next few days, my mom and I also visited Alfred Angelo and Bridal Chateau. Both stores were disappointing. After looking through all the dresses at Alfred Angelo, we decided that quality of their dresses was definitely questionable. Bridal Chateau wasn't much better due to their limited selection. On a whim, we also drove out to MA Carr to see if our big upcoming appointment would even be worthwhile. While the store itself is lovely, I didn't find anything in my budget that I loved. At that point, I knew the dress at David's was meant to be mine. We went back that night and bought it. I received an EXCELLENT deal on my dress and the staff could not have been nicer. They even allowed my family to come back the following weekend to see me try on the dress in the store and help me pick out accessories. That moment was truly memorable. Tears were shed by everyone involved. Maybe it wasn't Kleinfeld's, but I am happy that the money I saved can go towards more important things like booze, food and a photographer. :) read more

If I could give two separate reviews for this I would a 5 for the dress shopping experience and a 2 for the alteration department. I worked with Mary Anne to find my wedding dress and she was FABULOUS!! LOVE LOVE LOVE her! She was funny and helpful and had a great eye for accessories. She helped me find the perfect dress, wasn't pushy, didn't act like I was wasting her time or trying to push me out the door. I have worked with others in this store that could care less about you and are rude or act like they are too busy, that is not Mary Anne's style trust me. If you make an appointment request her! The alterations on the other hand, ugh!!!! THEY made my appointment for alterations about 1 month prior to my wedding date and they assured me that was plenty of time. I show up for my alterations, they do their thing measuring and figuring out what they need to do to make your dress fit like a glove. Some confusion starts to arise and another women comes out and repins everything, fine not big deal. Then they tell us we can pick up the dress 3 days before the wedding. I obviously do love this time line, but they again assure me if it isn't perfect they will fix it before I leave that day and everything will be fine. I show up to pick up my dress and low and behold it's far from perfect. A different women brings out the dress, first thing I notice is the belt I purchased isn't sewn on correctly and is falling off. She states its must not have been pressed properly and I have to tell her that it has to be sewn all the way on, so she said ok. Then I put the dress on, length was good, bustle was good but they didn't take it in and it could spin around my entire body. So she pins it again and says ok you can pick it up Friday (the day before the wedding). UM no, so I have to explain to her that the original women assured me they would get it done and I would take it home today. So she's not happy with this and tells me well I guess we can get it done but you will have to come back in a couple hours. She was clearly not happy about this. When we returned she was rude, she had to sit in the chair and made sure we knew how long her day had become because of this. I had to bring my child back with me and he looked at her pin box, didn't touch it just looked and she told him to "keep his hands out of her pins". She was a real peach. I would absolutely buy a dress from them again but would never have my alterations done there again! Mary Anne made the experience fun so look for her if you go in! read more

Bridesmaids: If you live out of town, have them ship the dress to you so you can get alterations done in plenty of time rather than coming into town to get the measurements done and coordinating with someone locally to pick it up and store it for you until just before the wedding. Why? Apparently at this store, taking a person's measurements right there with you does not result in a dress that fits. The dress they had for me was at least a size too large on the chest and was falling down. I took it to an alteration shop and the place sewed straps on for me, but for $139 and them taking measurements right there with me, I expected this thing to fit like a dream. The actual people I worked with seemed nice, although a bit rushed. read more

I recently purchased my dress from a location in Buffalo, NY. I love it so much I can't WAIT to wear it! However, I had the absolute WORST bridal experience. Almost everyone who worked there was so rude and unprofessional. The best part? The woman who I was assigned to for my consultation was, ready for this? Drunk. She reeked of alcohol, zipped my skin into 3 different dresses, and acted like she didn't want to deal with me. If I could do it over again, I would go back on a different day and buy the dress from someone else because I regret ever giving her the business. AWFUL experience. read more

I have mixed feelings about my experience here I must say. When I arrived they mixed up my consultants and I was given a low pressure consultant I was really happy with and then all of a sudden out pops some other girl trying to help me that did not seem to have my best interests in mind, then the other girl came back and it when back and forth about 5 times. I spoke to a manager and had the confusion cleared up and my original consultant returned and we moved forward with the appointment. After scouring the racks and choosing the dresses I wanted to try, my fiance and I proceeded to the fitting rooms to get started only to have him yelled at, kicked out and frankly pretty humiliated. This was the fourth place we went to gown shop and the first time he was ever not allowed in the dress showing area. All of the change rooms had curtains and full privacy so I'm not sure what the were blocking him from because a young man that worked there was hanging out back there the whole time so I'm not really sure I understood the issue but we continued anyways. The only reason it even bothered me is that we had driven from Waterloo, ON which isn't that far but we were stuck at the border for hours so it was kind of frustrating. My fiance asked to use a washroom mid way through the appointment and he got pretty much the rudest response I've ever head from a customer service basically stating that if he needs to use the washroom he can just go elsewhere. He walked down the street and found a restroom elsewhere and again we continued with the appointment. It just bothered me because we we're potentionally going to be spending $1500.00 or more on a gown so I feel like he at least deserved to be treated with respect. Again this wasn't my first gown shopping experience but it was my first time having a consultant come right into the fitting room with me while I stripped down to my bra and panties. I am not that comfortable a person so I had a hard time with this especially because she would get chatting and stuff while she just held the dress and I stood there practically naked just praying for her to put the dress on me. My last big issue with this location was finding out the consultants were paid commission...this made the experience very high pressure and intense for someone indecisive as myself. They were also mentioning photogrpahy and invitations which I told them 10 times I was not interested at all, but different employees kept mentioning it anyway. It really worked against them because as it turns out I did find my gown there but I had to go home and think about it first and wound up heading the the Davids Bridal in my area and purchasing it there instead. read more

When I started the process for wedding gown shopping, I was miserable. I am a petite plus bride and hate shopping! I had one appointment Saturday at a private consignment shop and was pleased with my experience there. The next day I had my appointment at Davids, and was "going just to go" thinking maybe I'll find some accessories or something. I heard rumors that they are so busy they are unable to attend to you personally or properly. Not true!!! I had Mindy and she is my new best friend! She accommodated the enterage of people I brought with me to our own private corner of the store and was with me the whole time, helping me in the fitting room and pulling the dresses I had selected from the website off the rack. I suggest researching what gowns you want to try on before your appointment. Come ready with the dress style numbers so the consultant can pick them for you. I also was prepared with the headpiece I was wearing and the shoes I'd be wearing.You want to get the whole picture of what it's going to look like. I did not find it weird that they came in the dressing room with you. They provide you with slimming undergarments and slips to borrow while you try on dresses. She allowed me to decently cover myself and then came in to assist me when I asked. I understand that they want to assist you. The dresses are bought off the rack and they don't want them ruined. I don't know if the treatment is reflective of having an appointment versus walking in without one, but I thought it was exceptional! Come to find out, Mindy knew me better than I know myself! My mom bought a dress from here a year ago and has since lost 50+ lbs and the dress when altered (not from David's) did not fit correctly and the shape of the dress was not kept. We went in 45 minutes before closing to look around. Amanda was AMAZING and helped us find a new dress with her budget in mind. But what I don't get is why make an appointment if I'm not going to have someone literally helping me grab dresses, help me get dressed and be there with me from the moment I get there until the moment I leave? I got there at 3pm for my appointment and no one was "assigned" to me until 3:30pm. My sister had to help me with the dresses while the person who was assigned to me walked around helping 2 other brides. I basically came in, picked out dresses, got dressed myself and walked out with very little interaction with the person assigned to me. I don't leave reviews unless something was exceptionally great, or exceptionally awful. I had a rotten time at a different David's Bridal so I went to this one thinking, if the employees were as terrible as the other one, I'll go somewhere else to find my wedding dress. I am a plus-sized girl on a really tight budget ($200 or less), and figured the trip would be a waste of gas and time. I called to see if I could come in for measurements and was able to schedule an appointment in the afternoon. I met with Amanda who immediately saw my short timeline to work with (about 4 months) and set out to fill her arms with any and every dress I liked and didn't like. This is important to note because there were many dresses I just didn't like, but after trying them on, they only served to help me understand what to avoid and what really felt great, therefore being a useful factor in selecting the dress I wanted. She helped me scour racks of prom and bridal dresses, zipped and clipped and buttoned me up in each and every dress. When I wore dresses that were obviously unflattering or downright ugly, she never pointed out that my body was the problem, unlike the other store. She mentioned a few times the fabric was too plain, or the design wasn't good enough for me. ANYONE with ANY self-esteem issues or lack of confidence in their body knows how difficult it is to go clothes shopping, let alone picking out a wedding dress, and Amanda essentially held my hand the whole way. She gave me privacy when I wanted it, cracked jokes and asked questions while she waited patiently for me to get dresses on, and even managed to stay within my price range. The first dress I tried on ended up being the dress I bought later in the evening, and she made sure to order it in the perfect size, the right color (garnet), and gave me a time estimate that would work just right for my wedding. She even said she'd hold off on the bell-ringing until I the dress arrived so my mother could see me. Did I mention my fiance came with me to see the dress? She got him a seat by the stage and let him play his video game in peace, and she didn't make a face when I said he was fine to see me in the dresses, or say anything rude about the unconventional ways in which we planned our wedding. Her biggest concern was making sure I felt beautiful and confident in the dress, and even though she had other customers there she had to tend to once in a while, she made certain I never felt alone or afraid. Amanda genuinely calmed me and made me feel like I had my best friend standing by my side. Thank you, Amanda, for being amazing to me and my fiance, and for not judging our unusual, unconventional plans. You literally saved me from becoming a bridezilla, and now I'll have a really cute dress to wear out after my wedding is over! read more

I want to give more stars but I cannot express the bad time I had because the Nazi Lady Maryann. She is the reason that I didn't purchase my dress at David's Bridal. There is no reason to have a worker being short with anyone or barking orders while I'm trying to have a wonderful experience. This store would do well to have mystery shoppers so that she can be taught a lesson is customer service. I do however appreciate the CSR Alyssa for getting my veil ordered and being talkative without being annoying. I also appreciated my Stylist Gina for realizing I wasn't going to be spending $100 on a veil and still being happy to help finding something affordable. She is a gem and people should ask for her! I had an appointment with David's Bridal to start my wedding dress shopping. My wedding is about 13 months away and figured I would just test the waters to see what is out there. I did not intend to buy at my appointment. I went into the store and was greeted in a very pleasant and friendly manner. The greeter called my consultant to the front to meet with me. The store was very busy and there were a lot of people looking at dresses. I was introduced to my consultant Nicole. From the moment Nicole took me into the back to find out a little bit more about my wedding and my expectations she focused her attention on me and my needs. Nicole took the time to listen to what I was looking for and then took me out onto the floor to pull a few samples. She was very mindful of budget as well as my style concerns. She spoke very pleasantly to my mother and brides maid. She took their suggestions into account and never once discarded their choices for me. We tried on 2 dresses which just did not have the "flare" I was looking for. The one dress I wanted to try on was not in stock in the store. Nicole took the time to find a similar dress to the one i was looking for and even though it did not have "straps" as I had requested she assured me that we could add/alter the dress to include the straps that i wanted. I put on the dress and immediately fell in love with it. It did not require alterations at all and if it were not for her support and encouragement I would have missed out on my perfect dress. I told her it was the one for me and she had me "ring the bell". Even though the store was busy my consultant Nicole dedicated her time and energy to assisting me. She was attentive and reassuring. She made the whole experience one I would always remember. I ordered my dress and received notification that it had arrived. I went back in to pick it up and wanted to try it on for size. Nicole was there and assisted again with making sure the dress was exactly what i had ordered. I just wanted to express my sincerest thank you to Nicole for being amazing and pushing me beyond what i thought i wanted. For giving me the push i needed to try on a dress I was unsure of. I went to David's Bridal this past weekend and had a very positive experience. My consultant, Mary Anne, was very friendly and helpful. After a quick tour of the store, she brought me to the dresses in my size and allowed me to look with my friend with no pressure. I found a couple to try on and did not love them. Mary Anne then went through some more dresses with me and I found a few more to try on. Although the change rooms were busy, I expected it as it was a Saturday. My friend was allowed into the change room with me to help and although Mary Anne gave her opinion, she didn't jam it down my throat. She knew we did not want to spend a ton of money on the dress and I felt that this did not affect her behaviour and attitude towards me at all. I ended up finding THE dress and choose to buy it. Although it was cheesey, I got to ring the bell when I decided to buy the dress. I had a great surprise when I went to pay for the dress and it was $100 less than the price tag indicated. I did not receive any pressure to book a photographer or do my invitations through David's. The only time it was mentioned was when I was given a bag full of coupons after buying my dress. All in all, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend David's Bridal. read more

I brought five of my bridesmaids to go look at dresses at David's bridal, all the dresses were beautiful, the only thing was my bridesmaids felt they did not get the attention they deserved. The lady who was helping us was helping another party at the same time and when my bridesmaids needed her she was nowhere to be found. The dresses were on organized and hard to find their size. They kept bringing dresses and to the changing room to try on and then found out later they could not get those dresses in the color we wanted. It would've been a better experience if our helper was more attentive and didn't huff and puff when we asked for assistance. We have our dresses ready to be ordered, but decided we're going to look somewhere else before we order, because of our experience. read more

I called today to get a dress overnight shipped to me (to Boston MA), Sarah helped me on the phone and was super nice and accommodating the whole time. We went here for a prom dress and Amanda assisted us. She was AWESOME!! Her shift was over and she stayed almost an hour over just so she could finish helping us. She pulled dresses, shoes and jewelry for us and took care of us up until we walked out the door. She made the process so easy. Sadly, I cannot say that my wedding dress adventure has been a good one. When I originally looked for my dress I made an appointment at Davids. I favorited gowns online thinking they would be pulled for my appointment. None of the dresses were pulled. The stylist I received kept pulling ball gowns, which was not what I wanted. My mother and best friend pulled a dress that I liked and ended up choosing. My stylist wrote down the measurements for it, the corset, and slip. We paid and left. When I picked up my dress I was led to a room and handed a corset and slip (not the ones I had bought.) They were not even close to my size. I waited over a half hour for my stylist to return before I went out to the front desk. They were busy and I was trying to be nice. I told the desk what was going on and that I just wanted me dress. Suddenly my stylist was back and we tried on my dress in a hurried fashion. The manager was apologetic and offered me a ribbon in my wedding color. I still used Davids for my girls dresses and those were ok. The icing on the proverbial wedding cake came with alterations. I took my dress in and the person who did my alterations went above and beyond. My original stylist had ordered my dress so large that it literally slid off of me. She told me not to worry and took the time to make sure that my dress would be perfect. She was amazing. We set a day to come back and pick it up when she would be there. Last night I picked up my dress. The alterations lady never even came out to show me back to a dressing room. We had to ask someone else to do it. The seamstress came out put my dress in the room and told me to try it on. She did not offer to help or even explain how best to put it on. I got into my dress thanks to my maid of honor and she started to try to figure out how to do the laces in the back. The seamstress then came out and laced me. I had to ask her to show us how to do the bustle. The second I was bustled she wanted me to sign the release! I wasn't even out of the dress yet! I signed it, and then said as I was going to get out to the dress that I wanted to laces left in,just loosened, so that it would be easier on my wedding day. She proceeded to yank out the laces and walked off leaving us to figure out how to hang the dress so that it wouldn't wrinkle. I am appalled at the treatment which I received. read more

My wedding gown experience at David's Bridal was fun and stress free thanks to my consultant Alissa. When I arrived to dry on dresses, she already had my favorites from their site ready to be pulled. She gave me a strapless bra to use while trying on the dresses, as well as a slip. When we were out on the floor showing my family, Alissa showed us the different types of bustles we could use. After taking lots of pictures we decided to come back after showing them all to my Dad, who couldn't make it to the appointment. We made another appointment to see Alissa again a few days later and told her which dresses we chose and when I got there she had them ready for me to put on. I had also picked out a tiara and she had that as well. When I decided on my dress she was even able to special-order it in a Petite size for me since I'm very short. We looked around the store for a bit while she wrote everything up and I found a pair of shoes to go with the dress. Alissa was so helpful and even gave us some planning advice. I never rushed or uncomfortable and she really made my Bridal shopping experience feel special. read more

First review I've ever written but our experience here was so bad I thought it was worth helping other brides/bridal parties avoid a completely awful experience for what it supposed to be an exciting day. There were 5 of us shopping for bridesmaid dresses, and from the moment we walked in every consultant in the store (4 different girls) made a point to lecture us about dress limits in the changing room before we had even started looking! Do they really hate putting dresses away that much?? The consultant we were given kept leaving our group and telling us she would be back after she helped another bride, and we felt like more of a burden/annoyance to her more than anything. After we chose a dress and went to check out and order, we stood at the desk with nobody else in line for almost 15 minutes while the woman worked on something else and kept saying she would be with us shortly. Finally she started our order, only to stop after a minute and let another girl take over who had no idea where in the process the first woman was so she had to start all over, then called yet another girl over to step in! They were all so busy attending to other parties we couldn't get one person to just stop and take the time to complete our order. Is there no dedicated front desk person for this? Finally, be aware that when they measure you they WILL put down at least the next dress size up almost in an attempt to force you to pay for alterations as their store. I tried on the dress size she wrote down and it was much too big so I went with just one down to still leave room, and all three girls at checkout gave me an extremely hard time about it. Apparently you aren't allowed to order any dress size you'd like even though you're the one purchasing the dress. They got so frustrated with me that we got yet another lecture about how if we don't order what they say they are 'not responsible if it doesn't fit' and alterations will be our own responsibility now and they will be putting comments in the order. This was quite possibly the worst experience we could've had bridal shopping and we all left very disappointed and angry. I'm not sure if they are just understaffed, or if this is just the way they expect their employees to act. So disappointing considering the amount of money we spent between 5 girls and 3 more that would be ordering. Either way, stay away from this location if you want to have a positive bridal experience at all. read more
