I had recently ordered a dress online only to find out a couple days later it had been cancelled due to stocking issues. We went to this David's bridal in a rush seeing as we were planning a fast wedding. These girls here were so nice and attentive. Every girl dreams of the day she looks for her perfect wedding dress, I chose a dress within 2 hours due to the assistance of an overly pushy saleswoman. Fine. We purchased the dress which was $1500 before taxes that day. The saleswoman advised us the dress would be in the store in December, this was ordered and paid for 9/25/15. The dress wound up arriving at the store only 1 month later (approx end of Oct). I was called over and over to pick this dress up immediately, I told the woman that I could not pick up the dress as I was going to be storing this dress at my parents home and they were away for the month. I was advised by this employee of David's Bridal on Niagara Falls Blvd in Amherst that I needed to retrieve my dress asap as this location frequently floods. THIS information about the location flooding was never told to me as I was purchasing said dress. Regardless, I advised this employee that had been calling me over and over that I would pick up the dress that was already paid for as soon as I could do so. I came in with a few bridesmaids looking at dresses and advised employee MARY ANN that I would be in the following week to pick up my dress and she was seemed ok with this. As soon as we all walked out the door this MARY ANN followed the 4 of us to the car and reiterated that I must pick up dress in a few days or asap, rudely and with urgency! Obnoxious. I called my mother who paid for said wedding dress initially and she was put on hold and hung up by an employee at this location on date 11/28/15!!!! At THIS point I want to return my dress, after reading a myriad of other horrible reviews citing employee MARY ANN I realize now why so many people I know chose to go to smaller boutique shops! David's Bridal has horrible customer service, I do not plan on getting my bridesmaid dresses here any longer and I most definitely will NEVER recommend this place to anyone ever!!!!!!!! This review is for alterations. I took my wedding dress in to this shop for two rounds of alterations and it still wasn't right. The woman who fits and pins the dresses is never there for pickup to make sure the dress fits properly. I am now getting my dress altered for the third time elsewhere and have been shown all of the mistakes that were made by the alterations department at this location of David's Bridal. I wish I had never trusted this shop with my dress and I am thankful that someone else can fix the issues. Please go elsewhere for your alteration needs. read more

Well, this is yet another way to reach out as my other 3 ways have gotten me nowhere. (The contact us page, no response. Facebook message-got nowhere, except was told to send an e-mail to dbcares@dbi.com which still no response either.) Basically, in a shortened version my experience on February 13th was absolutely horrible! First, I want to start off by saying my experience with Victoria-Lea on January 13th was amazing! She helped me find my dream dress, and was extremely helpful! This complaint is not about her! I am from Fort Erie Ontario Canada. This is shortly over the border. I was ok with spending a little more (currency conversion) to get the dress I wanted. I was told the dress would take about 1 to 2 months to come in. So, I was excited when it came in less than a month. I was called twice (I ordered 2 items, so when each item was in.) BOTH times I called back (as voicemails were previously left.) During both of those conversations, I asked if I could meet someone to alter my dress when I came in. The answer was yes. I know my dress needed to be altered as I am quite short, and I know the dress I tried was very long on me. Another reason I needed to know this was because I did not want to bring it over the border (and pay duty which would be roughly $175, just to have to bring it back to be altered, then bring it back home AGAIN and spend ANOTHER $175, on top of alterations. I got there around 6pm (give or take an hour) on February 13th. This is where the bad experience happened. I walk in, was asked if I needed help. I told the girl that I ordered a dress and a bra that was in, so she looked on her Ipad. She said the dress was in, but not the bra. I told her I had confirmation that both were. She tried to look but could not find it. (I was not able to get into my e-mail as I was roaming on my phone.) So, she gave me on to use under my dress. Whatever, I was willing to let that go. She then told me that alterations were not there at the time, and that I HAD to pick up my dress, as it was their policy. If alterations are say open Monday to Friday 9-5 or something, this was not told to me on the phone. Moving on, She put the dress in the dressing room for me to try it on, opened the bag and asked if this was my dress, I told her yes. She then leaves. I waited about 15 minutes for someone to come help me. It didn't happen. I had to take my dress (which is extremely poofy) out of the bag. Put it on myself. Which I had to do backwards and flip it as I was unable to zip it up myself. (THIS WAS NOT EASY.) I then had to walk out and look at the dress myself...hoping I had it on correctly. I looked at myself for about 10 minutes, hoping for help. Finally, I asked the girl who was helping another bride how alterations worked and why my dress looked super stiff. She explained that it needed to be steamed and alterations will bring up part of the dress to shorten it...I was ok with that. I saw the girl a few times walking back and forth who gave me my dress. Never asked if I needed help. I am not the type of person who makes a big deal about something in person. I am very reserved and polite. The girls could see that I was struggling, but I was already upset that I let it go. The worst part is now that I had to find a way to put my dress BACK into the bag. That was HELL. I was sitting in the dressing room crying because no one was around to help me. Nobody asked me if I needed help. NOTHING. It seemed that you now have my money, so I am no longer important to you. All sales are final, so whatever. We don't need to help her. She can't return the dress. Also, I asked again what happened with my bra that I ordered when I was about to leave, she said it's not in. Then was like, Oh wait. Went to the back, grabbed it, and just handed it to me. (This was after looking on the computer at the front.) I was fully willing to have my alterations done at the Tonawanda location, but after experiencing that, I will not. Also, forget about my 6 bridesmaids and 2 flower girls dresses! We will go elsewhere. I had to leave my dress at a friends house, so that I didn't have to pay duty crossing the border. (As I was stupid at the time, and still thought about bringing it back to the store.) I will have to find another bridal shop in Buffalo to do my alterations now. No way I will go back to this location. read more

I had heard before I got engaged that David's Bridal was a place where I would be rushed in and out of dresses and treated like a number instead of a person. But seeing as they were most likely to have a dress that I love at a price that can't be beat, I went ahead and made an appointment with them. I just bought my wedding dress from them and have to say that the experience at David's Bridal wasn't like the nightmares that I have heard from some people. My stylist, Heather was super helpful and sweet. She really listened to what I told her about my style and didn't push me into trying on anything that was out of my budget. She even went and found the veil that I wanted in a bag that had not been opened and did the same thing with a sash that I wanted that was being discontinued. First let's start with the positive...Heidi greeted me and my friend(brother of the bride) when we entered and immediately pulled up the wedding party information and paged a stylist to pull the bridesmaid dress for me. She asked me for my size and I said I would like to try on both a 6 and an 8, considering this particular dress is strapless, I was more comfortable in a smaller size, which fit me perfectly. After I tried both dresses on, the stylist asked to take my measurements while I was still wearing the size 6 dress. And for an idea this dress has a lot of additional loose twisted fabric from bust to floor so that would obviously throw the measurements off a little bit. We then went to the front end to check out and order the dress. That's when "Julie" cut my stylist and Heidi off mid sentence and abandoned her own customer and said, "she can't be in between sizes and based on those measurements she needs the 8." To which I took offense because she was not in the fitting room with me nor did she have any idea of the extra fabric on the dress. I immediately stepped in and said, "this is the size I'm comfortable with and it is the size I will be ordering." Needless to say Heidi was great and I apologized to her that this rude inconsiderate woman put a sour taste in my mouth for what would have been a pleasant experience. 5 stars for Heidi, 0 stars for Julie, so 3 stars for the overall trip. read more

I was surprisingly pleased! I have had negative experiences in the past with bridal stores but I have to say we had a very large, hard to please bridal party and they were very accommodating. Not to mention our dresses were ready in less than a month after ordering. The manager met with us multiple times and was very patient and helpful. This review is specifically for Jillian who was the most rude and useless person to work with. First she said she will measure me- she never did. Then my friend and I went to find our own dresses based on the pictures of the dresses I found on their website. I found 10 I wanted to try on, but Jillian told me it must be only 6 total. When I brought all the ten with me she told me "you not following directions" and that "you will be here all day." First, that's my own damn business if I want to be there all day seeing how she was not helping me with anything at all. Second, I tried all ten dresses and picked the one I wanted to purchase in less than an hour. The moment I mentioned I may not be able to buy the dress on the spot she snapped at me with "yes, you already made it clear when you walked in." My friend helped me with fitting into dresses and zipping them up and putting them back onto hangers and away, but if anything was still left to be hung Jillian made me feel like she is doing me a huge favor. Mind you, I am always super kind and courteous to people working in retail, and always say thank you for every little thing. She not only ignored my thank yous, but even rolled her eyes at me at one point. I have never ever encountered so much attitude from sales people in my life. She made it clear that she hates her job and even made a rude remark about "the million dresses" that I have to the other party in the dressing room. Disgusting and unprofessional. I decided to not stoop to her level and be rude back to her although she most definitely deserved it, and ended up purchasing the dress because I actually liked it. I had the most amazing experience here! From the moment my best friend and I walked in, we felt welcomed. The two of us had a strange situation - due to the fact that she lives in North Carolina and I now live in California, we only had this one opportunity to try on dresses together while we were visiting family in Buffalo. We had no intention of purchasing dresses that day, we were simply there to try on a few and get a better idea of what we wanted. I was concerned that the staff might not be as helpful considering we were not likely to buy, but i was happily surprised at how accommodating they were. I believe the lady that greeted us was Jamie Lynn ( I hope I remembered the names correctly) and she was so friendly and helpful. We then were assisted by Mindy, who is amazing at her job! Request her if you can! she listened to everything we said about what we liked and wanted and never made us feel pressured to buy. The surprise to all of us was that we did find two perfect dresses. I was able to have the full "bridal experience" with my best friend that I've known for 16 years, and it was all made possible by all the lovely people working at this store. Thank you!!! read more

I am so disappointed & irritated with the alteration dept at Davids across from McKinley Mall in Hamburg/Orchard Park. They wanted to charge a ridiculous fee to take in a bridesmaid dress-DOUBLE the cost of the dress! I will take it to Chayban Tailors where they do excellent work for a fair price. Jordan, the young woman in alterations was able to fix my dress within 5 minutes. FIVE MINUTES! She also took the extra time to hang the train as well so it wouldn't get wrinkled. I would give this location 0 stars if I had the option. From the moment I decided to purchase my dress, it has been nothing but a nightmare to deal with them. For the sake of brevity, I'll focus on my most recent experience there. While my wedding dress fits perfectly and does not need any alterations, I decided to take advantage of their free steaming. I called them about 8 weeks before my wedding to see what I needed to do for this and was told I could bring my dress in at any time and they would take care of it. The following weekend I brought my dress in. I was asked by 4 different associates over the course of 45 minutes if I was being helped, to which I told them no and explained why I was there. Each associate then told me they couldn't help me and walked away. Eventually, I was able to get the attention of an associate who started helping me. I informed her that I knew it was early, but I needed to be able to pick my dress up ahead of time, since I would be out of town for work the 2 weeks prior to my wedding. She told me I could pick my dress up 3 days before. I repeated why that would not work, so she offered to have it ready 10 days before. Again I told her I needed it earlier, and she was short with me and asked when I wanted to pick it up. Finally, I was able to pick a date that would work for me, she took my dress, wrote the date on the receipt and I was on my way. More than a month later, on the date written on my receipt, I returned to pick up my dress. I was told it had not yet been steamed. If I arrived after the ready date and time on my receipt, why had it still not been steamed? I was told that my consultant hadn't "gotten around to it." I reminded them of the same thing I had discussed with the associate that I needed to pick up my dress in advance since I would be out of town. Finally, after explaining to them that, I was told they would do it right then, but that it was an hour long steaming, and I would have to come back in an hour. After having my dress for a month, my consultant wasn't able to find one hour to steam? I left to go kill my hour, and luckily, when I returned I was able to take my dress with me. Thank god I never have to go there again. And my bridesmaids have already experienced first-hand how difficult they are to work with. The consultants here see you as a nothing more than what they can sell to you at that moment. I've never witnessed such poor customer service anywhere. Stay away and avoid the headache. It's well worth the extra $500 to purchase a dress elsewhere. read more

My sister is getting married and ... she hates all things wedding. So we were all wondering, when she said she'd finally made an appointment to get her dress, how this was going to go. I had my fingers crossed that we'd get someone that would understand my sister. She's got a constant case of RBF, so when we arrived and she showed zero enthusiasm, I was hoping we'd get someone that didn't discourage easily. And oh my gosh, David's delivered. Our consultant had my sister smiling and laughing the entire time she was there. "Mare" made her have so much fun. She was a incredible ball of energy and you could tell was born to do exactly this. She became in sync with my sister; if my sister said she didn't like something or needed something else or this wasn't it, Mare worked with her and didn't push her on anything. There were so many wonderful dresses to choose from and after looking at all of them, my sister picked out 4 dresses, tried them all on, and the 3rd dress was THE ONE! The place was super crowded but we didn't have to wait, at all, and there was no confusion. And we didn't feel overwhelmed or ignored. I was surprised when I went on to FB to give them a review, to read all these negative reviews, because we had such a positive experience. I am so thankful to have had had our consultant. If i could give David's a zero star i would, i went in to there store at seven at night just to look at dresses and possibly set up and appointment for a different day to get a wedding dress there. as i walked in before even greeting me the woman says that they close in two hours. i shrugged it off and asked if anyone could show me some wedding dresses, she pointed at a rack of clearance dresses and said that i could look over there (im assuming she did that because i am young and she thought i was not going to be spending much money ). At this point i felt very disrespected but my now husband walked over there with me so that i could just see what they had, i found one or two that i thought i would possibly want to try on to see if my body type would look good in them. I asked the lady for a dressing room and she huffed and puffed and directed someone else to find me some place to try them on, she then told me since they close in 1 hour and 45 minutes now no one would be able to help me, i said that's fine and she pointed at the dressing rooms and said i could try them on there. I get into the dressing room and begin to try on the first dress when a worker walks in on me getting changed says oops starts laughing and walks out. immediately i put my clothes on and left in tears. I tried calling the manager the next day to let her know what had happened and and she just continued to ask me to make an appointment. i was so disappointed in David's. read more

I had an appointment I made a week or so ahead of time, it was my first time trying on wedding dresses and experiencing the whole atmosphere...when we got there you could tell that they were quite busy and either overbooked my appointment time or the person I was scheduled with was MIA. I went to davids because of their supposed reputation. I made a HUGE mistake! When I arrived for my bridal appointment it was apparent that they were short staffed. The woman taking care of me (maryanne) was very kind and enthusiastic, but was being stretched thin between myself and three other brides. Having worked in customer service, I understood and patiently worked with her. I ended up purchasing a 1300 oleg casini dress, which I loved. When I arrived for my first fitting I brought all my supplies..undergarments, shoes ect. When I put the dress on the bottom cam to the top of my foot with my 3 inch heels on. I stand 5'9.5 without shoes. I was told that "extra length " should of been ordered and it was not, so to get different shoes. I was angered by this and wanted another dress so I could wear the shoes I would like and I was told it was not possible to reach the dress by my wedding date. I was very upset, but I accepted things happen and I purchased flats, had alterations and a bustle added. A month later I go in for my final fitting and the gown is a disaster. The zipper in the back is showing, the bustle looks like a train wreck and the lace on the bust is ripped in areas and freyed. I was supposed to have a lining placed in the tank area of the the dress due to the material creating irritation on my skin and that was not placed either. I also was sharing my appointment with another woman and the seamstress kept disappearing!!!! I was told the zipper was supposed to show and "that is how it is" ..really a 1300 gown with 450 extra alteration cost is "supposed" to have a zipper showing?!?!? This place is a complete joke and their alterations where complete TRASH!!!!! I am completely disgusted and will make sure to tell people to never go to David's!!!!! read more

We came back again today, to find dresses for the bridesmaids, mothers of bride and groom and flower girl. Katarina was very helpful on both occasions, and we all found dresses that we are very happy with. The checkout experience was also very positive. Alyssa was our customer service rep, and she was also very gracious and worked quickly to assist us. I would highly recommend David's based on two very happy experiences with the employees that work there. I have had the most difficult time looking for a wedding dress. I've been in and out of multiple David's with my mother and friends and could not find a dress. I started looking for dresses online but was worried about quality and the sizing. I was ready to walk down the aisle in jeans. Then I got all of my bridesmaids together and we went to David's. Megan Martin was my assistant and my God was she amazing. I went in there with random schizophrenic ideas of what kind of dress I wanted and she was patient and worked with me. The dress I ended up buying was the one Megan picked out. I never would have looked twice at this dress, but once it was on I loved it!! And even though it was the second dress I tried on she was still patient enough with me to let me try on a few more. Did I mention she did this all while helping my 6 obnoxious (I say that with love) bridesmaids choose from a million dresses individually. And still catered to my mother's suggestions. I've been to David's before and never received this kind of service. Even when there I heard another shopping assistant ( older, butch with a jersey shore tan), bully the brides next to me into getting more expensive dresses and she even made fun of me for looking at a clearance dress. So rude. Megan was actually reprimanded by one of her managers in front of customers because of spending too much time with us. Which I found to be extremely unprofessional. But Megan stuck with me and I'm extremely grateful. I would not have my dress if it wasn't for her. If you're going to shop at David's Bridal. Ask for Megan Martin. I had an absolutely wonderful experience at David's this week (which I did not expect given previous reviews--apparently a fairly new manager has let go of a lot of poor staff in the last few months which is great.) It was my first time trying on wedding dresses and I decided to go by myself to get some ideas without anyone else's opinions to confuse me. I made an evening weekday appt as I work locally and was also hoping this would make for a calmer experience. Sam was my consultant, and she was so laid back and accommodating, I felt instantly comfortable with her. She never made me feel like I was wasting her time even though it was pretty clear I was not purchasing that day. She was enthusiastic & funny and encouraged me to try on all different styles of dresses--we really had a good time and I realized I might like some other silhouettes than I expected! I love my dress but I was told the beads that we're missing on sleeve would be replaced during alterations on the 1 sleeve I can tell they were added but on the other side they were not added . I went to David's several times before my wedding and not once did I have a good experience. First they had my date wrong in the system. I asked them to change it every time. The date being wrong caused some of the girls dresses to come in late so alterations were rushed. And when the dresses first came in they were the WRONG color!! Not only was the date wrong but the color too in the system!!!!The woman doing my alterations (rude beyond rude) kept arguing that it was even and she would tug on one side and say "see look, even" my sister said "ok, now let go...see NOT even!" She redid it 2 x and finally I just let it go bc I was nervous she would really mess it up even more. The alterations were awful and for half the price of my dress i expected better and not such a mess. I asked her bc my dress was so heavy if the bustle should be reinforced. She said it would be fine...it was a disaster at the wedding bc several of the loops for the buttons were torn the instant we went to bustle it. So the bustle just kept falling all night. They ordered me a hairpiece that came in 5 times and each time had beads missing...they then tried to tell me I couldn't return it just keep exchanging it. However not once did I actually leave the store with the item so I wasn't leaving until they returned it for me. It was just one disaster after the other. They made this part of wedding planning a headache instead of a once in a lifetime experience. read more

My husband and I purchased a gown for my sisters wedding in June. We paid for the dress in full upfront, and we told them we wanted to pick up the dress on Monday May 12th, and the sales clerk assured me it would not be a problem she wrote up my order, and told me the dress would be pressed as it was all wrinkled and ready to go Monday. I went in to pick up the dress and then was made aware the clerk wrote the wrong month on the sheet for pick up. The dress was not even pressed. The clerk said it would be pressed and ready for Tuesday. I went back on Tuesday to pick up the dress with my mother and the dress was not pressed or ready for me to take. I spoke to the manager and she assured me the dress would be ready for a Wednesday pick up. I went home feeling upset and in dismay over the lack of customer service. I went back on Wednesday and once again the dress was not pressed, and spoke to another clerk yet again, I was upset and was ready to cry, and did on my car ride home. I then called and asked to speak to the manager, I spoke to her and she said she would personally press my dress, and called me back to say it was done. I went again on Thursday to pick it up well the front of the dress was pressed but the back of the dress in no way looked pressed as it was all wrinkled. I spoke to another clerk and she assured me she would press it again so I left and went today to pick up the gown it was in much better condition not perfect and I just cant deal with the level of ignorance and lack of customer service. I cant recommend this store. Round trip it is 30 miles from my home and driving it 5 days in a row to get a dress and to not be treated with respect or even offered a discount or any type of compensation for the 150 miles I was forced to put on my car is not appropriate. I am in the process of contacting their corporate office over this whole experience, and I am considering informing the BBB. Buyer be wear! I will not be doing any more purchases at this location, I will travel to Erie PA or their store in Hamburg NY.... read more

Now I will preface this by saying I purchased a bridesmaid dress not a bridal gown. And anyone who is contemplating purchasing a dress from this location needs to read this. This may sound cruel but I wish I could give them zero stars. I was a bridesmaid in my brothers wedding and his wife sent us to David's for our dresses. My consultant was new and she didn't have to tell me that in order for me to know. She wasn't very knowledgable but I let it slide, it's a bridesmaids dress right?! I'm not a small girl, the consultant told me "this will be tough, your in between sizes". So she sized up at the size 18 and it was HUGE! But she clipped it and I got the idea I was looking for. Turns out about ten mins into my appt, my consultant was gone....I searched for her but she was gone. One woman asked who I was working with and I told her and she goes that's not your consultant she just took a bridal party of 4. Great. Well I found my own dress and went up to the counter. Like a hawk my consultant must have seen me up there , and commission bells rang. She apologize because she was new and she did not know how to ring me up. She found another woman who could bring me out instead of her. This other woman was clearly annoyed that she had to help me. She was very short with me and anything but polite. When she asked what size I wanted I looked at my consultant and said all of those 18s were huge, do you think I should go with the 16? As annoyed as the other woman was she asked me abruptly if I had tried on the 16 I told her no I did not because that was not the size the consultant had puled. My consultant said that this woman could help me and with that she wished me the best and left for her larger party without helping me on a size selection. She looked at me and with a heavy attitude here are your options you can either get the 18 and get it fitted so it fits or you can get the 16 and HOPE that it fits you. Like I said, I'm not a small girl and it was really hurtful to hear someone say that. I wasnt looking for a fight so I agreed to the 18 and purchased my dress. The best part of all of this was while I was signing my receipt after purchasing the dress, The consultant noticed my engagement ring on my hand and her whole attitude changed. With the sweetest tone she asked me if I had purchased a dress yet. I told her I had no intention of buying my dress here. So I had to get the dress altered when I got it, surprised right? The alterations woman even asked me why I didn't get the smaller size. I replied to her I guess I was just hoping that I would fit in this one. I had her fix a ruffle on the chest part of my dress, because it looked weird and she agreed that it neededto be fixed. I went to my brothers wedding and a dress that cost me $150 plus an additional $50 and alterations. Everything was going fine until the reception, I turned to my best friend to tell her something when I suddenly felt the sharp pain just under my chest. It took my breath away. My friend looked at me and asked if I was okay I said I don't know but I felt like I just got stabbed. I tried to laugh it off like it was nothing, but when I turn to say something to her again I stabbed again. I started to poke around where I had felt I was stabbed, I was appalled to pull out a needle that was still attached to a piece of thread in my dress. Alterations have LEFT A NEEDLE IN MY DRESS. I was speechless, and so was my friend. The reception had just started and I could not leave this thing in my dress, so I was forced to excuse myself for my brothers wedding to find a scissor to cut it out. I was so infuriated but I didn't have the heart to tell the bride that night because it was her night. The next morning I told the bride about my needle situation and she was so appalled and so embarrassed of the quality dress we had purchased from David's bridal that she immediately told me she was going to the company and complaining because one of the other girls who purchased her dress in a different state had the same kind of alteration and customer service issues. The company ended up calling me and telling me to return the dress to the store for a full refund. When I brought it back to the store the manager immediately was short with me and told me that all sales are final and then I could not return the dress. As soon as I told her corporate had called me her attitude changed. I would not recommend David's bridal for any kind of bridesmaids. I can say this is a bride that I know it is the easiest place to go to get dresses for your girls because they are chain and they're everywhere.I would explore your options as a bride searching for bridesmaids dresses. I found beautiful dresses for my girls online at a reasonable price with an awesome satisfaction guarantee. Our bridesmaids are doing us a huge favor by being part of our wedding the least we can do is make sure that they are taking care of by the company who is going to supply them their dress. read more

My most recent experience with David's bridal on Niagara Falls Blvd was very disappointing. I'd like to start by saying that this was NO fault of the girl who actually assisted us, and I truly felt bad for her. Everything was going well, my best friend was trying on gowns with some of the most important people in her world (including myself, maid of honor and our other friend who is the matron of honor) She was literally so happy. The selection was pretty good and so everyone was able to contribute ideas. Approximately one hour and ten minutes in, the young lady helping us took myself and the bride to the back room, she had four dresses left to try and we had found two more while she was modeling one, so a total of six dresses left. At this point, another woman, who by her tone was some kind of supervisor, gave us a dirty look and said; you're almost over so you'll have to wrap this up." I saw tears well up in my friend's eyes. It broke your heart, I could see it all over her face. The "supervisor" then turned to me and said (in the same inappropriate tone); "you need to not pull dresses off the rack." - this was especially odd since the first thing that they instructed me and the matron of honor was to go and pull dresses that fit what she had been looking at. In the end we left, and 5 days later we are all discussing how rude this girl was. I've been in customer service a long time, there are graceful and gentle ways to say things, and she practiced neither. She was cold and harsh. And also, I've been to a number of dress appointments and never have been told we needed to "wrap it up" after 70 minutes, traditionally they go 90-120 minutes. I feel as though I've made my point. The selection is decent, and it's convenient if you have the bridal party spread across the country and want them all to get the same dress. Also, again, major kudos to the girl who actually handled our appointment. However I'm pleased to go this as the bride said yes to a dress at Bridal Chateau. But as a learning point, if you want to sell someone an $1800 dress, you should probably be aware of your words, tone, and attitude. read more

I'm only giving 5 stars for two reasons.#1I LOVE MY DRESS!!!!!! (I can't stress that enough and i'm not the typical bride who dreamed of this or even expected to find a dress so fast) #2. Sara my associate I had when trying dresses was perfect for me.I went with just my mom and I spur of the moment booked the appt only a couple days before .She was perfect she was not loud or obnoxious as I'm more quiet and don't like attention.She helped dress me and made me comfortable (I am plus size so it's difficult for me).If i were to rate this after ordering i would give ZERO.I booked an appt to pickup my dress after receiving an email it had arrived.Out of respect for the busy store I thought I should do I could try it on and maybe get some advice for accessories.WELL. When we went in I checked in and let them know I was picking it up.the girl at the front desk was quick to give me my dress.Than a guy brought it to me and gave me a change room and could not even hang it in the change room .After me saying "thank you and his is my room you said" The dress was pushed at me more .(For me to take it and hand it up .I signed to say it left the store ) and I was left in a dark change room and left alone as my mom and I struggled to try it on and make sure everything was intact .Not IMPRESSED.So they got our money we got the dress they are done with us.We walked out without any help.No alteration appts or advice on booking with them???? No one to see if we were happy still? If we wanted advice on accessories ??????.Enjoy your first appt but as soon as you pay and order.They don't care about you or your special day.I guess you get what you pay for???? My sister and I went a few days ago to try on wedding gowns. Now we have been looking at dresses on line for months, and on there site we put in our favorites. So we made our appt. Went in on our scheduled day arrived 15mins early checked in , etc.. so we look around pull a few dresses and waited 15 minutes after the appt for a stylist to come over and help. Now after that we go in the dressing room and the young women brings the dresses in my sister's size. None of which were on the racks granted she's a large girl shouldn't you have more than 2 on the rack in plus sizes, makes you feel really great and confident. Any way the dressing rooms you should be ashamed, curtains falling down, rods broken, chairs ripped, carpet disgusting, decor from 1980. Now thankfully she found a dress only after 2, yeah! but they made her order a size up claiming the dress was a sample and stretched out. Hmm mm makes you think is this an alterations scam and I have heard nothing but horror stories about that dept. We are pleased with the young woman who helped us, she did ask if I was my sister mom though, found it funny. Anyway they ordered the dress said it will be here in 6 months great . It was in, in 4 days. No complaints there. However what do we do with dress for 5 months, I mean its going to need altering they ordered it to big. Do I trust them to alter it hell no not after the reviews I've read. So now I have to find a place that can, because it feels like something fishy is going on. And this may or may not have anything to do with them but as I was walking to my in their lot I stepped into a huge pothole and sprained my foot. To sum things up, I am sorely dissatisfied with this place they need to update, retrain, and stop trying to make a profit in the add on dept ie. alterations. It's supposed to be the biggest day in woman's life let's no spoil it. read more

This David's Bridal is HORRIBLE!!! If I could give it negative stars I would. The attendant, Brenda, was a sad excuse for a helper. I had booked the appointment 2 weeks in advance, and I had to call them to confirm it. Upon arrival, they didn't have any attendants available and had to scurry around to "find someone". Well, unfortunately we ended up with Brenda. We advised what we were there for, and asked to help us select dresses that would compliment my wedding dress. Brenda stated that we had to wait while she assisted another party. Well, after about 10 mins, we decided to start looking for dresses on our own. We didn't see Brenda back for at least another half hour. So, we decided instead of waiting (even though we asked for help from other attendants and they said they couldn't assist us), we kept looking for dresses on our own. When Brenda finally reappeared, we were asking her for a specific item and she disappeared mid sentence. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION AT ALL, and would highly advise steering clear of this place!! HORRIBLE!!! read more

I went here for a bridesmaid dress. I was assigned a consultant named MaryAnn. she was incredibly rude. I fit comfortable in a size 8 dress and went to purchase the dress. MaryAnn had stated that she thought I should get a 10. I then told her that I felt fine in the 8. She continued to harass me about ordering a 10. She even came around from behind the register to measure me to prove that I should get a 10. She came around and randomly started to measure me in the show room at the register in front of everyone! I then reiterated that I wanted to purchase the size 8! She then responded with "well your really into the number part" and "at least its good motivation to lose weight". Besides the incredibly terrible service, the dress area is a nightmare and there is no privacy. The curtains do not close completely. The bathroom was disgusting. I wouldn't waste my time ever going back. I went down the street to Alfred Angelo. Dresses are more expensive but at least the consultant didn't insinuate I was too fat for my dress. read more

What an awesome experience! My sister and I stopped in David's Bridal in Tonawanda, NY just to look at wedding dresses. I am getting married in the fall, but I was just planning to order a dress from eBay since I knew the exact style I wanted. Honestly, I wasn't in the mood to try anything on. But... my sister found the perfect dress for me, as she knew what I was looking for. So after a little while of convincing, I decided I would try it on. We didn't have an appointment, but the ladies were so kind and let me try it on. It seemed kind of busy, so we were really grateful that they could squeeze us in. I have to say that Brenda J. was such a pleasure to work with! She went above and beyond in making sure I was taken care of throughout the entire visit. She made suggestions, but she was not pushy at all, and I appreciated that very much. Another woman, who may have been the Manager, was just as nice. But unfortunately I didn't catch her name. Overall it was such an enjoyable experience! I would definitely recommend David's Bridal in Tonawanda, NY! Needless to say, I bought the dress! read more

I was visiting my mom for Mother's Day weekend to hopefully find "the dress" for my wedding. After a previous bad experience with David's Bridal in Massapequa, NY (no appointment-no help), I went to David's in Tonawanda with the idea that because I didn't have an appointment, no one would talk to me. I was so wrong!!! We walked right in, met with Amanda and she got me right away! I am a no nonsense Bride, want simplicity and to be comfortable. After a day of trying on dresses else where, she figured me out and FOUND MY DREAM DRESS!!! She had the amazing idea to use a headband accessory as a belt and the dress blossomed. We also found my mom's dress. I cannot thank David's Bridal enough, especially Amanda, for her kind words, wonderful selections and patience. My mom, my sister and I visited this location, and had an amazing experience! We live in Canada, so we like to come to Buffalo when we need to look for dresses for special occasions. Sarah was INCREDIBLE and very attentive. Sarah greeted us at the door the second we walked in, with a friendly smile and a very outgoing personality! We showed her dresses we saw online, and she knew exactly where to find them (which we all ended up purchasing!!!) Sarah dealt with the three of us all at the same time and it did not even phase her that we were all looking for different style dresses, colours and sizes. She was bang on with everything! She read our mind, she came up with great ideas for accessories, and made sure to tell us about jewellery/shoe sales that this location had! Sarah is very dedicated to her job, not only because she is there to work, but because you can just tell she loves what she does, and loves making people happy! Because of this amazing experience we've had we all found the dresses we needed and I found two dresses instead of one! I cannot wait to see Sarah when my twin sister and I choose our wedding dresses! Not to mention, my moms dress, as well as our bridesmaids dresses! Thanks again Sarah for all of your hard work! I had an amazing experience last Friday at this location! I made an appointment at 10:00 am to find the wedding dress of my dreams. We got there and had to wait a few moments for the store to open up which was fine. We got in, checked in, and started looking at dresses. Brenda was assisting me and she was amazing! She asked me my preferences and told me to pick out a few while she tried to find dresses as well. Once we had a few we headed to the dressing room to get started. I only tried on 6 dresses and found the one I loved! Brenda was amazing in making recommendations and letting me know options of changing simple things on the dress to make it perfect. The dress I ended up finding had everything I wanted so no changes needed! She even picked out a hair piece and veil for me to try on and I fell even more in love!
