I had a great experience. I went with my mom and grandma. They had an excellent time. They were having so much fun picking out dresses they wanted me to try on. I didn't want to rain on their parade so I just let them run with it. It gave me so much joy to see them having so much fun with the whole thing. The customer service is as good as it gets. By the time I was done, I felt like the salesperson was my best friend and we were having a trying-on-dresses party. Like seriously, I wanted to get her number, make a lunch date, and possibly even invite her to my wedding...but only because she was so friendly and fun and upbeat! Great salesperson!!! The only thing I didn't like was how crowded it was but that's just because I'm a more introverted person and can't think straight when there are that many people around me. It made making a decision about anything sort of difficult. That being said, if you're the type of person who doesn't mind a crowd, go here!!! Our group went to this location twice and had vastly different experiences. The first time we were led to a room and barely helped at all. We picked out all the wedding dresses ourselves and helped the bride into them. We had no guidance and the store wasn't busy at all. There was maybe one other group of two. I can't even recall the name of the woman that "helped" us because I saw her maybe twice the entire time. The second trip we were lucky enough to meet the saving grace of the store, Marisa. She was beyond helpful! She was with us every step of the way. She listened to all of our dress concerns and opinions and knew just what to pull for the bride to try on. She stayed within our budget and knew what would look great. It is obvious she is very knowledgable about her job and she does it so well. She always knew just what to add to the dress or why the dress wasn't working. I would HIGHLY recommend trying to get an appointment with Marisa if you want a smooth consultation. Took my daughter here for a junior bridesmaid dress and it was hands down the worst experience. HORRIBLE customer service, the store itself was dirty and unorganized. It was the biggest waste of an afternoon. No one there seems to enjoy their job or their lives for that matter. After this horrible experience, I drove an hour out of the way to David's bridal in Danbury and I was in and out in 30 minutes with a dress. I had an amazing time at David bridals first I had a dress that didn't fit, I needed to send it back immediately Jenna helped me print a label sent it back She did everything I needed. Then I thought I couldn't get a dress in the same day my wedding was Saturday it was Tuesday , Joanna Then came she help me try on at least 4 dresses oh my God I finally found the one I wanted. So I have mix reviews about my experiences at this location. My first experience I went with my sister, mother, mother-in-law and sister-in-law and the consultant was helpful. I didn't purchased my wedding dress until my second visit. So my second visit, I went on a weekday and the store was not that busy and I was able to get one on one attention from my consultant. It was a very nice experience. My third visit was to order a new wedding dress because my original dress my friend had also purchased it for her wedding so I decided to change my original dress. This 3rd visit the consultant took forever to help me because the store was crazy filled with girls looking for Prom dresses. After 30 minutes waiting for someone to help me, I was able to get a consultant to help me and to give me their assistance. So when I finally picked up my wedding dress in June I decided to go with a dressmaker at another location because I heard horror stories about their fittings.. I didn't want to take a chance so I went elsewhere and I'm happy I did. My fitting was perfect. This store needs better customer service and their consultants don't look professional and they look sloppy. When you work in retail you need to look professional and act the part. Just saying. Ok let me preface this review by talking about my first experience with DB at another location: As a soon to be bride, the experience at the Astoria location was horrible. I went their to try on dresses with my bridesmaids and mom. I went towards the end of the day and scheduled my appt a month in advance. I went there and they couldn't decide who was helping me. I told them about my list of dresses and they told to me wait by the dressing rooms (very cold). Melody (or Melanie) barely helped me. Told me two of my dresses weren't here and one of them specially was only sold online and no where in the US. My MOH ended up picking dresses for me because she barely came to check on me and give me suggestions. We had to chase her down for clamps. My MOH was running around the store for me people thought she worked there! I left deflated and feeling like I'd never come to a DB again. Then I went to the DB in Yonkers and WOW what a difference!!!! They were AMAZING, and guess what... The dress that was apparently nowhere in the US, was in the store, in my size. Carmen was a HUGE help and was so welcoming, funny, gave great advice. Gave me so much time to look around and walk the stage. The speech Carmen gave to me about my dress and advice about love had us all in tears. Not only did we buy the dress i've been eyeing for MONTHS that Astoria told me didn't exist in the US, but we also left on an amazing high about the experience and couldnt stop talking about how great the ladies at this store were and how they changed my mind about the brand. This is the worst David's I've ever been to. The employees are completely unprofessional, constantly yelling in front of customers. I went in to get a dress altered for a wedding and one employee tried to come over and talk to me about a recent presidential debate which I was not going to talk about but she continued to talk about it with the women that was tailoring my dress. It took 15 minutes for someone to see me at the front of the store and attend to me. Overall the experience was unprofessional it made me not want to get my dress tailored there but it was the only David's around. Then when I had to get in touch with someone about the pick up time for my dress no body answers their phones. I tried for days and no body answered so that's why I'm writing this. I guess I'll have to make the 25 minute drive to have someone attend to a PAYING CUSTOMER. read more

Let me first start by saying that I don't often write reviews but my experience with Tracey deserves one. I went into David's very nervous about dress shopping. Tracey calmed me down and made me so comfortable, I forgot I was even nervous to begin with! She asked me if I had any pictures of what I liked (of course I did!) and proceeded to pull 2 of my picks and 1 that she said would be perfect for me. I tried on my pick first and it was not great, neither was the other one I selected. Next I tried on the dress Tracey picked for me and it was PERFECT! I fell in love with it and decided to say yes to the dress. Tracey said a little rhyme and I rang the bell loud for everyone to hear. I couldn't have found the dress of my dreams without Tracey and I am so happy I was able to work with her! She is amazing at her job and I would highly recommend working with her! read more

First off I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Jessica Soave. She was amazing. I came in without an appointment, thinking I knew what I style I liked and what would look good on me. The staff greeted me warmly when I came in and brought me straight in and began helping me immediately. I came in with my mom and aunt (my little sister/maid of honor is away at college so she was able to be in on the fun via texts, pictures and skype). So, I let my mother and aunt pick out things they thought would look good on me. Jessica was so patient, kind, friendly and attentive. She picked out a dress for me she thought would compliment my shape and boy was she right! Thanks to Jess, I have a gorgeous dress that I am in love with (for my ceremony) and another gorgeous dress for my reception. I was not satisfied with my experience at this location. My cousin decided to search for her bridesmaid dresses at this location. They had a lot of options but the service was terrible. The girl helping her was no help in suggesting styles or even stating that particular dress styles were in stock etc. We wasted a lot of time due to her lack of information and to top it off she had an attitude. I only gave it 1 star because the dresses were at least ordered somewhat adequately (they did not come with requested straps) in the correct color, size and arrived on time. read more

I went to help pick out bridal dresses for my Best Friend's future wedding. She had JoAnna as her helper and she was so helpful and so dedicated/considerate! She even let each member of the bridal party pick dresses for the bride to try on. We definitely went over the appointment time, but JoAnna had the same attitude as when we first got there. No one helps you, no one is courteous, and they couldn't care less to be there...as I have heard from an employee "retail is retail". They know they have you because they have the dresses you may want, so they don't care whatsoever about any form of customer service. Went to David's Bridal for a bridesmaids dress. We had Zelda as a helper. She was picking sized 3 sizes bigger than what I was and when I told her that wasn't my size she told me that I "was thick and needed to realize that". All of the dresses were way too big for me and she did not get me the size I needed when I had asked for it. When I finally went to get the dress that fit me and picked the right one, I told the bride that this was the one I was going with. Zelda gave me the worst look and said "really that one?!" To give a little background, I ordered a dress back in June of 2012 for my Oct 2013 wedding from a different shop (not a David's Bridal). A month before the wedding and my dress still has yet to make an appearance, and the staff at this other salon has been less than reassuring that it'll ever show up. So with this in mind I made an appointment at this David's Bridal with my wedding 4 weeks away. My consultant, Silvia, was wonderful to work with. She and the rest of the staff were so nice to me and understanding that I needed to find a dress ASAP! They listened to the type and price range of dress I was looking for, and brought out several candidates. I ended up walking out of the store with a dress that I love, fit perfectly, doesn't need any alterations, and cost half as much as the other dress, which is still a no-show. read more

If I could give it less than one star, I would. My sister's bridal experience: The consultant kept disappearing for 15 min at a time, leaving us on our own to get in and out of dresses. We told her she wanted champagne, the consultant's response , "We don't have that" My sister picks up a dress, color, "champagne." um hello??? Told that she can only try on 5 gowns. My experience as maid of honor, same, only 5 dresses, I didn't like any, consultant explains she cannot bring any more, she will get in trouble. I find a dress I sort of like. When I ask when it will come in, she says I will tell you after the purchase is complete. After my card is swiped I then get, "Dress is final sale." To my knowledge, I believe that is not legal practice. I have to investigate whether or not you must be told about a sale being final purchase, BEFORE you make payment, because honestly, I would have declined the sale if I had known ahead of time. When I questioned the sales associate on this, she said, I know, but that is what we are told to do. Last complaint, but only for the moment, I am not through with contacting corporate yet. I receive an email that my dress is in. When I arrive, I am informed that only the jacket came in, not the dress. I ask why i can't pick up both together? She says, If you don't take it now, it will be sent back and you will lose your money. HEINOUS BUSINESS PRACTICE, AND QUESTIONABLE WHETHER THEIR PRACTICES ARE LEGAL. RUN, RUN AWAY!!!!! read more

The Yonkers location of David's Bridal is a MESS. I recently came here for some bridesmaid dress shopping (my friend, the bride, got her dress at this location). Here's a breakdown of what happened: The actual shopping day was fine. The service was ok but overall, no one seemed too enthused to help us. Our assistant wasn't really that attentive and seemed kind of bored to be working. While we all picked the style of our dresses on this day, I was slightly frustrated with the selection of dresses that we actually tried on. It's very hard to see if you actually want a dress if there isn't even a color close to what you want or need. I appreciated that my size was there but they kept giving me colors that were insanely bright and didn't seem to have anything in a darker color and in my size. You can't order your dress online and I was forced to order it over the phone (we didn't buy them at the store when we went to try them on). Not a huge deal but not the best. The order went through fine. When it time to me actually receiving the dress, I had major issues. When I had placed my order, I had requested that it be shipped to my house. However, when I did get my confirmation email, it said I had to go to the store to pick it up. I called the location and repeated that again, my dress be shipped to my house and they said it would ship in a few days. However, a few days passed and I got the SAME exact confirmation email saying that my dress was at the store. I had some free time that weekend so I decided to actually go to the store and see what was going on. When I got there, I was kept waiting for quite some time. Granted, it was a Saturday afternoon and the store was busy but still, I just needed to pick up my dress. They asked if I wanted to try it on and I said sure, so I was kept waiting in one of the dressing rooms for about 20 minutes until I was told by an assistant that my dress actually had a stitching error and had to be sent back and a new one would be sent to me. While I appreciate that they went ahead and decided to send back the faulty dress, I NEVER received any email or phone call whatsoever saying that my dress had been sent back. So I essentially wasted a whole afternoon for nothing. I had to give them all of my info again including my shipping address and they said that it would be shipped to my house. I left feeling certain it would arrive at my house at some point within the next few weeks. Cut to a few weeks later and my friend, the bride, texts me and told me that my dress had actually been shipped to her house (note that I was NOT the first bridesmaid who's dress was shipped to her house). Again, I got no confirmation email that it was being shipped and the bride had to make an extra trip to drop off my dress with me. She said that the package was kind of a joke, in that the box just had the dress in it with no packing slip or anything. Luckily the dress fits somewhat well (it will need some alterations as all dresses do) but this was just a hot mess of an ordeal. Bottom line is, I'd say to skip going to this location because they are disorganized and clearly do not care about where the dresses are shipped. I don't know if it's just this location or if it's something on the corporate end of David's Bridal. I have heard that the Danbury location is better so I'd suggest going there instead. I definitely know that I will not be returning to David's Bridal for my future wedding plans because it's just been more of a hassle than it needs to be and honestly, it's not worth it. I'd rather go to a boutique or order a dress off of Etsy than deal with David's Bridal again. They're a joke. read more

I went to the Yonkers David's Bridal to purchase a bridesmaid dress. The dress was already picked out by the bride so I just had to find my size, order it, and leave. Simple, right? Not for this store! I gave a worker the bride's name, and she found her file and gave me a sample to try on. I tried on my correct size, so I was lead to a different counter to order and pay for the dress. The lady at this counter didn't even look up at me when I was standing in front of her... Rude, but I'm willing to move past it. She proceeded to order the dress without even asking for my name, phone number, or address. She said that I would be contacted when it was ready to be picked up. I knew there was no way she did this correctly, so I asked her if they had my phone number. She rattled off an unfamiliar number... And, as I dreaded, they ordered the dress in the bride's name with all her contact info. I was told that it would show up in Yonkers and that the bride would just have to let me know that it was ready. OK. Fast forward a couple weeks, the dress shows up on the wrong side of the country at the bride's David's location. Honestly, I'm not surprised at this point. If you can help it, do not deal with these scattered, unknowledgeable employees. Go literally anywhere else. This store is a mess. read more

I had an amazing experience at David's Bridal in Yonkers. I had no idea what I wanted but Imani was so helpful and friendly; she helped me find a beautiful dress that fit my figure perfectly! The other salesgirls were also friendly and fun and contributed to an unforgettable experience! I then needed several changes to the dress due to some weight fluctuation and Angela from the alterations department absolutely outdid herself! My daughter found her dream dress, the only store that had it in her size was the Yonkers store...we were very pressed for time, her fiance is deploying, so we ordered it and had it overnited, a fitting was scheduled for the arrival day at 4 pm. No communication about shipping..I called at 4 pm. They had not shipped yet, it arrived the next afternoon, wrong size, when we called they apologized, and sent the correct one out, we rescheduled the fitting, correct size arrived, bottom was dirty, was obviously one that had been tried on repeatedly. We had it fitted, and then noticed the sash was missing. Called the Yonkers store, which was supposed to be open until 9, at 830 pm...no answer. Due to time constraints we went shopping locally and bought one. Called David's customer service line, they told us the district manager would contact store and us and make it right. 2 weeks later, and 2 more phone calls to the store, 1 to customer service ....no satisfaction. I want 15% more off the dress for the condition it was in and money for the sash we bought. I have worked in customer service for 31 years, this is unacceptable. There was no work for this sale, they literally had to put a dress in a box and send it, how hard is that? read more

Dolores and her assistant were truly amazing! They were kind, thoughtful, and understood what I was looking for. I showed her some styles, and she pulled dresses so fast that were in my actual size, and one of the dresses she picked was the one I said yes to the dress!!! And they were all well within our price range. Dolores and her team asked questions and engaged my mother in conversation in such an authentic way that we hugged them tight at the end. They made it such a special experience. I can't thank them enough for making the experience so wonderful and memorable and beautiful!!!!!!!! We went to this very upscale boutique two miles away in Scarsdale, and they were disinterested, didn't have any dress my size to try on and kept suggesting ivory to me vs. white. I am a plus size bride to be on a budget but didn't want to look like one. Second to,e down the aisle and wanted to look classy and elegant. Didn't want to spend Kleinfeld money nor do I think it's necessary for the look I was going for. I know that folks have mixed experiences with David's Bridal but since I live relatively close to the Yonkers location, I decided to just check and see. I was lucky. I was taken a little earlier than my appointment time and my consultant was Marissa who was experienced, pleasant, cheerful, knowledgeable and very respectful of my budget. She suggested the clearance section which at first gave me reason to be suspicious because typically, the clearance sections of stores are not known to be that great. Well because of my size, I was able to find 4 gowns that I had seen online that were in my price point. The first one I tried on was the one my best friend picked out. I was taken aback when I looked in the mirror. With the exception of about a 1/2 inch on the sides of the dress that need to be taken in, the fit was amazing. The dress was beautiful and although it was one of my pics from the website, it wasn't one of my top 4 so I really forgot about it. The website does not do the dress justice. It was gorgeous. Marissa also picked out a 5th dress for me that really fit my particular style and really looked very sexy but elegant on me. But I went with the 1st one because it screamed "BRIDAL" and the fit was just too good to be true. (I am also 5'10" tall). I did not feel rushed. Marissa was professional but also very nice and attentive. She knows how to sell too. Not too pushy. Made suggestions that were good. Of course they also try to sell you on what I think are over-priced accessories but I can find those elsewhere. The dress was on sale to boot so I got an additional $50 off which was great. Now I do have to say that if you want a Kleinfeld experience, then go to Kleinfelds. This is not that place at all. The showroom needs a makeover without a doubt. It is not a super haute couture type of place. It's a bridal showroom in a mall. Period. That's it. Some of the consultants there, although seemingly nice enough, could definitely use some grooming. I was fortune in getting Marissa because there were others that would have given me reason to hesitate as their personal grooming was way off to be giving fashion advice on wedding and formal attire. Much depends on your expectations. I went in feeling like if I fell in love with a dress, I would get it. However, I wanted to see how different styles and fabrics would look on me in the event that I chose to buy online (in America - NEVER direct from China!!!) So I was not going in there as if I was on "Say Yes to the Dress". I also feel fortunate that since I wear a pretty average plus size gown, there was a decent selection in my size. Had I been larger, the selection was not so great. If my price point was higher, then the selections, of course, are greater. I suggest shopping early and be prepared for more than one appointment if necessary because like I said, I really lucked out. read more

I had a very positive experience at this location. I made an appointment early on a Saturday morning to try on wedding dresses, so it wasn't busy yet and I was taken to the fitting area immediately. Camila was my consultant and was extremely helpful! This was my first time trying on dresses, so I didn't really know what I was looking for. I had brought pictures of dresses I liked online; Camila looked through them and asked me questions about my style, then went and found a great selection of dresses for me to try on. She was patient with me (I'm pretty picky and indecisive) and took a long time helping me try things on until I found 2 favorites. I ended up buying my dress elsewhere, but wanted to leave a review because she was very sweet and so helpful!! I can see why some people may have been put off during their experience... It did get quite busy in the store towards the end of my appointment. I can imagine it stayed that way the rest of the day how the store might get disorganized. On 3/6/2018, I went to David's Bridal for the first time, accompanied by by mother and sisters, to shop for my wedding gown. My bridal consultant was Marisa Facciponti. I told Marisa what type of style I was looking for and she went to work. She brought back 3 dresses for me to try on, all within my budget. Long story short, I said "yes to the dress" on dress #3! Marisa was absolutely wonderful listening to every word I said and was able to bring my vision to life! She is very attentive, knowledgeable, and knows her stuff. We went to David's Bridal for our wedding dresses, and from the moment Marissa approached us I knew we were in excellent hands. She was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, friendly, patient, and made us feel welcome from the start. We are two 50 year old women who had a lot of questions and Marissa was able to answer every one and give us excellent advice regarding things we would never have thought of. We have already recommended Marissa to friends of ours for their wedding. And we told them that it's worth waiting for Marissa if they are busy, since as we know this is the most special day of our lives, so go when you have a lot of time to spend there, and be prepared to wait if Marisa is busy. The lady assisting us was very uncharacteristic and I felt the vibe like she just wanted to go home. I gave her the benefit of the doubt though because everyone gets tired after a long day of work. I specifically asked for dresses that come in the color Meadow. She told me all dresses come in that color, so we started picking dresses. While my MOH tried on dresses, the assistant didn't complement or looked interested in interacting with her clients. Again, giving her the benefit of the doubt and not giving into her attitude, my MOH tried on 8 dresses. We ended up picking 1 dress out of those 8. When we are getting ready to pay, she tells us that the dress my MOH wants actually doesn't come the color that I wanted. So... we went with the second best. They ALSO didn't have that dress in the color we specifically asked for. So, I asked her, "which of these dresses come in that color?" She said only 1!! My MOH and I basically wasted almost 2 hours trying on dresses and they did not even have Meadow as a color choice! So we obviously still needed a dress, so we asked her which dress comes in Meadow and will arrive before my wedding. She was no help in trying to fix this situation. I came into David's Bridal because I needed alterations done to my bridesmaids dress. I was really nervous that it wasn't going to come out right, but Angela in the alterations department made it happen. She was absolutely AMAZING! She made me feel so comfortable and made me feel that she truly cared. She is the sweetest woman ever. She did a phenomenal job on my dress. I'm definitely coming back here so she can do the alterations for my wedding gown. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my wedding gown but her! Thank you SO much again, Angela!!! read more

I'm actually very surprised. I went to David's Bridal a couple years back to find a dress for my brother's wedding and we just tried on dresses off the rack, and it was a bad experience. Didn't find anything. But then we went yesterday for my wedding dress and I had an AMAZING TIME. First of all, I walked in on a Sunday afternoon, around 2PM. The place was packed, and they took my name down for an appointment. I walked around for about 15 minutes or so, then my name was called. I told my consultant, Joanna, what I wanted and she listened to my every need, and I mean every need. I'm a petite girl and so I only wanted to try on petite dresses. I loved the mermaid look and was open to strapless, sweetheart, ballgown, basically an open book. And Joanna really listened to what I wanted, and we narrowed it down to 2 dresses, both mermaid and both around $1,000. I took my mom and my sister with me, whose my maid of honor. They both got front row seats as I tried on about 10+ dresses. And for them, the experience was nice as well, since they weren't the ones helping me into the dresses, the consultant was. So they got a chance to sit back and enjoy seeing all the beautiful dresses. I was in the store for a good 2 hours or so, and I loved every little bit of it. I felt Joanna was very professional and helpful. She wore a professional outfit, all dressed in black. She helped me try on each and every one of the dresses. I have an appointment next week to pick my dress, and I'm very excited. I only want Joanna to be my consultant, as she was very helpful to me. Thanks Joanna! read more
