I'm not sure why there are negative reviews. I've been there numerous times and never had a problem. The woman who work there are polite and very helpful and friendly. It's a busy store so you either plan your visit for a quieter day or you just need to have more patience. I was very happy with the service I received last week considering how many times the bride and I had to return there. (The bride's mistakes and idea changes) not Davids Bridal. This is not a small boutique that caters to your every whim. It's a bridal store with low to moderately priced gowns. It's like going to Olive Garden and expecting Le Cirque. Of course you're going to be disappointed. But if you go in knowing it's just a "bridal department store" then you find that the dresses are nice and the workers even nicer. read more

I went to the Yonkers location of David's Bridal on 9/7/2015. My consultant's name was Camila Rojas, She was amazing! I went with my mother, grandmother, soon to be mother in law and my two soon to be sister's in law and my niece. This was my 1st attempt at wedding dress shopping and I was a bit nervous about going with that many people. Camila helped us all so much. I was able to find a dress and I bought it. I finished my appointment within the allowed time for a scheduled appointment and she continued to help my us with no problem. I had a wonderful experience at David's Bridal on two different occasions. Both times we had appointments with Sue DiBuono who made our experiences memorable. The first time was when my daughter found her dream dress with Sue's help -- she said YES to the dress. She was nervous but was put at ease with Sue's attention to her style preferences. A few weeks later I was so happy to find the perfect dress for me. I did not want a "typical" mother of the bride dress. I also had my mind made up on the color as well. Angela in alterations was so fantastic with my mother-in-law - super patient, funny, and encouraging! There was a mix up in the dress that arrived versus the one we ordered... she grabbed the manager and helped us find a quick solution. I haven't seen the alteration yet, but she was a pleasure to work with! Would not give any star if i had the option. My daughter and I ordered 3 prom dresses online as we were not sure how each was going to look on her. We decided to return 2 and we went to the store on Central Avenue in Yonkers(I believe the exact day was 4/21/22.).We discussed with the cashier that the 3 rd dress we really like, but even though size 2, looked big on my daughter.We asked if we should return the 3 rd dress also and place another order online.The cashier advised that she would reorder the dress from the store with the hope that the received item would come from a different storage and would fit better.We were told that if not properly fitting we would be able to do a return 7 days from the date we did the pick up and my daughter tried the dress on.So the dress arrived at the store in May and did not fit any different.We wanted to return it and were told that we couldnt.The policy of the store was: if we ordered through the store we can only do a return whithin 7 days of placing the order.But we never received the dress in order to try and decide if we want to keep it until 2-3 weeks later.We could not cancel the order before we hadreceived and tried it.I spoke with multiple customer service representatives which were of no help.Then we went again to the store and were waiting on line.One of the managers,i believe her name was Nancy,was speaking with a potential client.I heard her saying"You can place a store order and normally you can return within 7 days but we can work out something for you,dont worry."When my turn came i explained my situation and Nacy stated that we can not make a return or get a store credit.We could only make an exchange for the amount of the dress cost.I confronted Nancy and said i just heard you, and whish i recorded you, saying to the previous customer that exceptions can be made and returns can be done out of the 7 day window.Our situation was complicated and we needed help.Manager appeared discombabulated ad tried to cover up the fact her previous customer discussion was heard and blubbered the situation there was different.But in fact it was not.She very clearly stated the policy states 7 day return only for store orders but she was going to make an exception and work with the customer bypassing the policy.Unfortunately we were promised the same and when we tried to complete our return no one worked with us.Never will I do business with this store again.Will post this review to any possible platform so everyone is aware of what would happen to them when tricked into making a purchase from this store. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. My 1st time shopping with David's bridal and certainly the last. Brought my future mother in law to find her dress here. The stylist had a very carefree attitude the entire time was not very attentive, every question you asked her reply was "I don't know". Nonetheless we found a dress my MIL liked. The size she tried on though fit well, as per the stylist a size smaller would be best. They did not have that specific smaller size to try on so we trusted her judgement. When the dress arrived, they didn't even call us to let us know the dress arrived, we happened to call and found out, lo and behold the dress had arrived 3 days previous. My MIL went to get the dress, and the WRONG size was ordered, yet the stylist lied to her manager that she did in fact order a smaller size, when in actuality she ordered the larger size. Bc of this stylist lie, when the tailor came to see my MIL and noticed the dress was too big she said she needs a size smaller. So my MIL tried on a size smaller ( now really 2 sizes smaller from the original tried on size), had some reservations about the dress being a little too tight, but trusted the stylist once again unfortunately that its because shes trying on a liggter color( gold), that everything shows, so when her true color( navy) arrives it wont be as bad. The manager was not interested in helping until My MIL called customer service, to which they told her to return to store, and they will call store and tell them to order the right size. 2 sizes smaller ended up being ordered because my MIL was so flustered at that point and didn't go with her instinct and listened to the stylist advice who is supposed to be a "professional". Originally before calling customer service, the stylist and manager claimed a new dress wouldn't arrive until April 26th bc the dress is "made to order". After customer service call, it was somehow determined that a dress was in Manhattan location that could be shipped, couldn't they have looked this up themselves? OF COURSE NOT BECAUSE THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT HELPING ANYONE. When looking online, the dress is available in ALL sizes with standard shipping arrival within a week, so how could this be if it's made to order? We were never even offered express shipping by paying extra, yet online for express shipping you can get the dress in 2-4 days. The offices are closed today because of snow storm, but we will be calling customer service back to just cancel the entire order. My MIL really likes the dress, so we will order a new one online than taking the dress that's at the Manhattan branch where people possibly tried the dress on. If it wasn't such a nice dress and we weren't pressed for time, I wouldn't give this place any of my business. That employee should be fired. Planning a wedding is already such a stressful experience and you guys added even more unnecessary stress. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. David bridal should shut your store down because you give a bad rap to the entire company if you're allowed to continue business. read more

JoAnna is the jewel in the crown of Davids Bridal. I took my daughter there to find the wedding dress of her dreams and thanks to JoAnna, she found it! JoAnna made us all feel comfortable and connected with my daughter immediately. She is an excellent listener and knew exactly what dresses to pull. She has a great knowledge of the store's inventory and is all about the customer experience. We had a lot of fun and the appointment flew by. I went wirh my mother and her cousin to get a exchange my orignal dress. I needed a new dress becuase after i found the first dress last october i found out two weeks later i was pregnant and that really change my plans for my wedding. Now im doing a simple intimate wedding. So i need a dress to fit me and the occasion. Lol I alreayd had my precious baby girl but still want something simple for a wedding and durring the summer, so a big puffy dress was not going to be "the one" Joanna was my stylist, and she was excellent. Joanna did everything to help my find a dress i love and felt comfortable in. She did not rush, complain, mind you the store was closing and the dress needed to be ordered from another store due. This place is the absolute WORST. Go to any other David's bridal! I went with my bridal party to try on dresses at opening time on a Sunday. The young lady who were supposed to be working with us were completely unprofessional and made us feel like we were burdening her. Sorry, but it is your job to help us find dresses! And without loud sighs or rolling of the eyes. There were so many moments when our lady was missing when we needed her assistance the most. When we asked questions, her responses were sarcastic and belittling. I am not usually the type of person who complains, but I have never experienced such poor customer service. After the shopping experience, measurements were taken and we left the shop. A few days later, each of the ladies called Yonkers Davids Bridal to order their dresses. Two of the members of the party were not in the system and measurements were lost. One dress was shipped to my house (the bride) but no one from the store informed my bridesmaid. So my bridesmaid went to the shop to pick up the dress. After waiting an hour, she was informed that something was wrong with the dress and they had to send it back. Still NO ONE CALLED! When the dress arrived on my doorstep, I was confused. A few weeks after the dress arrived, another email confirmed that a second dress was sent to the bridal shop. The lady on the phone was laughing about the fact that two dresses had been ordered. Disorganized and unprofessional are he two words to describe Yonkers Davids Bridal. On Feb 3rd, I went to look for a wedding dress for my destination wedding at David's Bridal on Central Ave Yonkers. Marissa F was my stylist. She was helpful. I showed her different things I saw on the site as I was sure what type of dress I wanted. She listened and pick out great selections, but the last dress was the dress I fell in love with. It was in my budget and absolutely beautiful. She gave me the full picture with the veil and head piece. I purchased my dress and left the store satisfied. Marissa was able to leave an imprint on my heart by helping find my perfect wedding dress to make my special day glorious. I had my 3rd bridal appointment yesterday at davids bridal (1st one at this location) and my consultant was Joanna. Joanna was amazing! She was very patient and sweet. She made great suggestions and was extremely helpful. She also helped me make up my mind on the dress I wanted, I think she kind of knew before I did. I definitely should have read the reviews before going there. You only get married once( well supposed to) so I wouldn't be returning here anyway, however, for anyone else I would not recommend. I had my alterations done here and boy was it not what I expected. Never mind that I paid $240 for alterations, they didn't get it right the first time. And I was not happy the second time. There was string coming out my dress, the back was missing the piece that holds the dress together, and part of my dress was uneven. For all the money you pay they should get it right the first time. Oh yeah, I also called to change the date to pick up my dress B/C there was a bad storm coming in on that Friday I was suppose to pick it up. Ummm, yeah they gave me a hard time had to speak to the manager, she agreed but told me I would have to wait b/c there soooo busy on Saturdays. This rating and review is based solely on my experience with Joanna. So let me say all that is positive before I leave some constructive criticism. Joanna is a doll. She greeted me warmly as soon as she was assigned to me. She took her time, talked for a few minutes to find out what I wanted, gave me time to thumb through their catalog, and even entertained my rambunctious toddler every so often so I could stare at myself indecisively in the mirror. I went in wanting a short, lacy, casual, inexpensive wedding dress. I had a very narrow mind-set of what I wanted, but Joanna insisted I try on more dresses. I'm so glad she did. And she made the experience so pleasant, I actually picked out a few more to try. She went and retrieved each and every one, no problem. Also, honesty - everything does not look great on every one and Joanna let me know what she did and did not like about the way the dresses looked on me. Anywho, I walked away with an elegant gorgeous dress that made me look 3 sizes smaller. This lady knows her stuff and now my wedding is more special because of it. Plus I didn't have to run around to a bunch of stores, which is great, because I HATE shopping. So, THANK YOU, Joanna. The rest of the staff in the back were very complimentary, as well, but I can't speak to how attentive they were to their clients. I did end up having to help one of their customers out of a dress she was trying on (yikes). That being said (and I hate to throw in a jab after dealing with such a pleasant sales associate), that store needs to re-train and/or replace the people who greet you and process you at the door. I use the term "greet" loosely, as I was ignored for quite a few minutes, standing stupidly at the front of the store, before the girl standing at the podium begrudgingly rolled her eyes over to me and asked me if I had an appointment. She actually seemed annoyed that another young lady had to remind her to acknowledge me. Yes, the other young lady at the front, who said "hi" to me walked away, and walked back to speak to podium girl, but never asked me herself what I was doing standing there. Ugh. Whatever. Maybe they don't expect brides to come back, so they really don't care... Last month, I made an appointment at David's to shop around for a wedding dress. To be honest, I wasn't planning to buy a dress right away. I was planning to shop around. However, I did find a beautiful dress, so I bought it. My salesperson was very helpful and gave me some dresses that I picked from the book. She even recommended some dresses and pulled them for me which I really did appreciate. Anyway, two weeks passed and my dress arrives. It was supposed to arrive in about a month but I got an email to inform me to stop by the store and pick it up early. When I got there, no one wanted to help me. The lady in the front try to ask someone to help me and the girl said that she had to go on lunch and rolled her eyes. Fine! You have to eat! We all do, BUT DON'T ROLL YOUR FFFFF EYES AT A BRIDE!!!! Anyway, she got someone to help me. That person dropped off the dress in the fitting room for me and said "I will be right back. I'm going to get you a garment bag." Well, I NEVER saw her again or my expected garment bag after that. I even walked around the whole store looking for her and didn't find her and my friend had to help me slip on the dress. Thank God I went to try on my dress early because it didn't fit. The sample that I tried on in the store two weeks ago was a size 4 but had a corset back, so the sales person assumed that I needed the next size up which was a 6! Anyway, it was a mistake and I'm glad I caught it early. So they reordered the dress in a size 8. Two weeks later, I got the email again, so I stop by the store AGAIN! Now instead of ordering me a new size 8, they bring me a used, dirty near the pits, lipstick stained dress. I work in retail, so I know that they transferred this from another David's. So, to make a long story short, I requested them politely to give me a new dress, so now I have to wait AGAIN! When I got home, I found my same exact dress online sold as a sample for half the price that I paid!!! So they were trying to give me a used dirty dress for full price that they transferred from another store!!! I didn't accept it and no bride should do it either! So I got my refund. Just beware of this store. I understand wedding dress shopping is new to most of you, but you should definitely get good customer service before the sale and after the sale. You should also get a brand new dress if you are paying for a brand new dress! They should at least inform you that they will be giving you a used dress! Trust me, I am no where close to being a bridezilla, but when you make an important, once in a lifetime purchase, whether it's a $99 dress or $5,000 dress, you should be happy at the end. I went to this David's Bridal a few months ago and had an appt with JoAnna. She was pretty sweet and patient. She had an AMAZING foresight into what your style and taste is with just a few questions. She really did a great job at selecting dresses that fit my style and taste. Although I decided to not gwt a dress, she didn't force or pressure me to buy something I wasn't 100% sure of and that was very appreciated. A hot mess. I have an appointment to try on a bridesmaid dress. Nobody really wanted to help me and then the chick who decides to help was helping 3 other people at the same time. I told her the dress # and she left me on my own. The dress didn't fit and they didn't have any other sizes in the store so she found a similar dress. Upon our second visit , Johanna M. Tamarazzo made my daughters dreams come true for her Sweet 16. You know how teens can be...indecisive.....well we went to pick up my daughters preordered dress on Mother's Day . When she tried it on there was the face. You know ,the teen angst face..not happy face. Along comes Johanna and suggest she try on the dress in the gown version. Just what my wife was thinking! lol and behold ,when she tried on the gown my daughters eyes lit up,the face you want to see everyone wants their little girl happy. But how can you exchange a pre- ordered dress for a gown and would we get it in time???? NO WORRIES! Johanna came through . My wife said it was the best Mother's Day gift she ever received. This is a horrible store. You would think that a company that helps plan weddings would give you a more soothing, stress-free experience. The customer service is awful! And the more I think about it, I feel like the consultants help you based on the way you look and how much you are willing to spend. I was a big nervous going in there, I honestly didn't want a dress or didn't think I would even find a dress at David's Bridal but when I went in JoAnna was there willing to help me out. She was such a sweetheart and patient because I am very picky. She knew what to try on me and asked what I would like to see. I scheduled an appointment 2 months in advanced and the week of called to confirm to try on wedding gowns. I was extremely excited as this was the first time myself and a few members of the wedding party were viewing dresses. Upon arrival, NO ONE was available to help. There were only 2 employees in the store helping others and they were extremely rude. I asked for the dresses and they gave extra large dresses with no clips to really assess how the gowns would fit and at no point came back to check on the process. The selection of available dresses to try on were absolutely horrendous, then the one of the girls suggested a boutique instead of David's Bridal. OMG never again! read more

It was an appointment during weekened, so I would recommend going there during week, when it is less crowded. I initially went to David's Bridals just to check what looks best on me, to get an idea. Joanna was really great, I showed her some ideas and concepts that I had in mind and she immediately got to picking dresses she thought would be suitable. I was a bit hesitant when she brought the dresses into the fitting room and was regretting even going to DB's. The first dress hang looked like an old curtain. I still gave it a shot and tried it on. When I came out of the fitting room my mom and friends were is shocked and they absolutely loved it on me. I was confused until I turned around and saw it on myself. The dress was beautiful and complimented my curved very well. I couldn't believe that the dress I thought would be a mistake I really liked. I tried on some other ones but the first dress was my favorite. Despite some of the reservations I had Joanna reassured my that I could change the dress to my liking and would make it custom. Joanna was super knowledgeable and I was so happy she was the bridal stylist helping me. I didn't choose the dress just yet because I have quite some time to for my wedding. But my next appointment is on 1/21 and can't wait to see what Joanna has in store. :) read more
