    Shrimp basket

Came in after church on Easter. 5 of us sat right away. Server was very sweet. Brought pitchers of tea for table and crackers. I had shrimp sandwich with coleslaw, husband had the catfish basket and beans, my mom had the shrimp basket and coleslaw, and (not pictured) fried oysters basket. All was very good. Clean inside large tables.

We stopped in for dinner. The place is really clean and the staff is very friendly. The food was mediocre. My husband ordered the catfish sandwich with a fillet the size of a blue gill. His fries were fresh! I ordered the fillet dinner. I think maybe we are just used to getting huge pieces of catfish, because I also found my fillets to be small. I ordered green beans and baked beans for my sides. The baked beans were good. The green beans were at room temperature and over cooked. Everything was just flat, missing that something extra. It was nice to try some place new. We may have tried dessert, but our check was brought out before we could order it, so I guess we should be thankful we were spared.

A local place that packs out on Friday and Saturday. They know how to cook catfish! We enjoy treating my husband's parents when we visit.

Best fried seafood spot I've had so far in this area. The service is quick and kind. The restaurant has a homey mom and pop feel with dimmer lights which is something I personally enjoy. They get out food quick so you're never waiting too long, but don't let that fool ya. Your food is hot, fresh, & ready to burn your mouth if you're too quick! Give it a minute to cool down. The catfish is sooooooo good! I thoroughly enjoy the catfish, the cheese grits, the okra, & the hush puppies every single time. My husband loveeeees the coleslaw, but I am personally not a fan. It's just extremely fine and I'm more of a crunch girl myself. I really enjoyed the key lime pie as it was actually lime flavored and packed a punch. The crust was tasty as well! If you've got the stomach for it, I recommend the all you can eat as it's a great deal at less than $26 for catfish and shrimp! They keep it coming and your two sides can be interchangeable! I recommend a sweet tea with your meal! It's really good and I love that they keep a pitcher at your table for your own refills. They'll make ya one to go too if you'd like!

We had a good time, fun atmosphere and great hospitality. Clean and easy parking. Had the boiled shrimp appetizer, yummy! Had the cup of gumbo, very tasty. We ordered catfish with shrimp, or oysters . I truly loved the large fried oysters, the shrimp was excellent. Obviously the catfish is the house speciality and it was good. Loved the fresh clean taste and the breading was wonderful. Thank you for dinner we'll come back!

I eat at David's Catfish House quite a bit. The food is outstanding. You won't find better catfish anywhere. Good value for the money.

Hominy, hush puppies, cornbread, grits, Alabama white sauce on any meat, especially smoked chicken, are all popular in Alabama. BBQ is practically a religion in the South! As former certified Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) certified judges, my husband and I completed the training and paid the fees to be certified. The "KCBS way" is different from a lot of people's preferences in that, for example, a BBQ rib should actually have some "pull" to it, meaning, when you bite into it, your mouth should leave a mark in the rib. This means "fall off the bones" ribs are not KDBS quality, despite how many love that rib consistency. The KCBS judges slots fill up so quickly and required us to travel at our own cost and we did not judge any KCBS events. Back to Southern food. Deep fried double Oreos are one of the many fried foods here in Huntsville, and Melt restaurant features them on their menu. Meat-and-Three restaurants feature a meat (usually fried pork chop, meatloaf, BBQ, fried catfish, country fried steak/chicken) and three sides (fried okra, creamed corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked potato, potato salad, cole slaw, French fries) and bread options such as cornbread, rolls, hush puppies. While Southern Cooking is absolutely delicious, I have to limit it because lets face it, it is high in calories and cholesterol. When I do indulge, it's shrimp and grits, pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, and fried whole okra.

The service and attention to detail pleased all of our guests and owner, Scott, delivered and prepared everything perfectly. It was nice not to have to worry about cooking and I was able to relax and enjoy the party rather than being tied to the kitchen! Scott was great working with my dietary restriction too.
