My wife and I wanted to try something new. So we Ordered through door dash To deliver it. My wife had the seafood platter For $23. It consisted of 3 oysters, 3 boiled shrimp, 3 fried shrimp, 1 piece of catfish, and a small stuffed crab shell. I ordered the rib eye steak medium rare with 2 sides, fries and grits for $23. And both of us a pie her keylime pie and I a chocolate cream pie for $5 each. when it arrived I was immediately disappointed to find my pie was nowhere to be found and my steak well done and bland with barely any flavor my fries were soggy and unseasoned and the grits were dry my wives catfish was skimpy her stuffed crab was practically just batter mix and her keylime pie tasted like bottled lime juice and jiffy marshmallow spread I lost my appetite and gave my fries to the dog the dog had no complaints. When we called to let them know about the missing items and over cooked piece a garbage they called a steak. They said it's not their problem the door dasher guy must've stolen the pice of pie and offered to change the price on the steak like they were doing us a favor. And then rudely hung up on my wife. Anyone who wants a good seafood dinner go to aces. If steak is what you are looking for do yourself a favor go to texas road house as for those who like county jail food this is the restaurant for you. read more

Another place that i was hoping would be good and make me want to come back. It didn't blow me out of the water. So so. Bland food. No flavor in the breading. My broiled cajun catfish lacked luster. It tasted like they boiled it. This was the quietest restaraunt i have ever been to. The place was packed too. Perhaps it was because the age of the average customer was probably in the late 60's or early 70's. I'm in my mid 40's and i felt soooo young here The customer service was excellent. The service was mediocre,Had to wait to be seated because of not enough servers plenty of tables but no one to wait on them. The onion rings were all batter, and the little onions were tough as shoe strings. The catfish were skinny and again all bread coated. We sent the onion rings back. Won't be back to that place. I downloaded yelp specifically to leave a review for here. I never complain about food establishments. My boyfriend hadnt stopped talking about it and ive never eaten it. Neither of us were satisfied and he was a bit embarrassed that he recommended it. Most items on the menu were decently priced, I ordered shrimp, he ordered friend crab claws it said it depends on the season, so we figured it was comparable to other restaurants of $12-15. our waitress didnt come back to our table until our food came, but was constantly at other tables. My drink was empty for about 20 minutes and then i moved it to the edge of the table to give her a hint....nope. when our food came out, we had to wait several minutes for silverware, then she dropped mine on the floor, picked it up and put it on the table. And walked off without taking my drink. I flagged down a manager and he did it. She didnt come back to our table but sat down at a table of a birthday party. When we got our bill, the crab claws were $25-28, i cant remember exactly. Thats more than $10 more than you can find them at any other restaurant and they were half cold when we got them. Before dining at David's I was told they are world class when it comes to catfish. I'd have to disagree. If there were a 2.5 star, it would be a better fit for their rating. I ordered the "all you can eat " catfish and the first serving was about as good as it gets,...my second serving was overcooked and dripping with grease. I figured they kept all the rejected pieces of catfish for anyone who dared request a second helping. Their coleslaw isn't bad, but has about the same consistency as their cheese grits. Service was OK, but was almost too fast. I felt like we were rushed through their process to get more customers in the door. This was our first visit not our last. Very enjoyable welcoming atmosphere. Easy parking. Clean bright airy atmosphere. Service was prompt attentive professional and friendly. David's was voted Best of the Best for catfish, and my husband and I decided to drive out to Milton to try it. I ordered the lunch special of two catfish fillets, fries and coleslaw. My husband got the catfish fillet with fried oysters. His plate had one fillet and 4 oysters for $9.49 which I think is over priced. He thought the catfish was watery and had no flavor as did I. I also thought the coleslaw had an off flavor that I did not like but others might. The service was exceptional though. Sharla was our server, and she was attentive making sure we were doing okay. Great food! Great people! I decided I wanted popcorn shrimp(which they have the best) at 7:30pm. I tried calling several times and got no answer so I drive over there. When I got there the chairs were already up on the tables and I asked the lady working there if they were closed and she said not not until 8:00pm(which it pretty much was). I am giving this place one star for this event only. Generally a very good place to eat. Never have a bad meal. The customer service was lacking last night 3/19/19. My husband went to order takeout. The lobby was empty so he sat down waiting for someone. No one came for a little while and then a waiter noticed him and someone else came and said they were closed. This after waiting about 15 minutes. Jill the manager said we could probably cook something up for you. By now not a good idea. When I had a conversation with her today very defensive. Instead of saying something like we are sorry for making you wait so long she said you should have come looking for us. My family and I visited this place last Saturday and for the most part were disappointed! I had the whole catfish and it was grossly over cooked and hard to eat. The fries and coleslaw was OK. My oldest son is a body builder and eats a lot, so he ordered the all you can eat popcorn shrimp. Repeat orders came so slow that we just got tired of waiting and left. We want take the time to go there from Fort Walton any more, instead will go to Po Folks in Niceville, the catfish is great and cheaper. read more
