    a half eaten quesadilla

I've always gotten a dece Florentine pizza from David's via Grubhub. It was a notch above the somewhat limited options in Quincy. The last two times, the Florentine pizza has been burned. The first time, I shrugged it off as "everyone has an off day." But, again? Come on David's-I'm paying 20.00 (tax& tip included) for a small pizza and you're delivering it burnt, not once but the last 2 time. I'm just a working -class peasant, I work hard to earn 40 bucks. Check yourself, everything is fleeting, especially your reputation.

Bug found at the bottom of my salad. I was so disappointed and insulted with David's response to this.

As a former loyal customer of David's, it pains me to write this review. I have recommended David's to friends and associates over the past year and have even submitted reviews praising their tasty food and timely delivery. However, after my experience with David's today, I am so enraged and utterly flabbergasted at not only the bug (looked like a cockroach) I found in my salad, but the horrid response and shameful customer service I received when I (very politely, mind you) called David's to inform them of this. Their response was, "Oh, I don't know how that happened to your salad" and emphasized how they diligently wash their lettuce and that there is no way this could have possibly happened. No apologies, no accountability, nothing. In fact, it felt as though they were insinuating I was lying. After a few minutes of David's essentially denying that this could ever happen, I requested a refund which they said they could not provide. They did, however, offer to make a new salad which I declined (I just found a cockroach resembling bug in your food...why would I want to eat more of it??). I eventually spoke with a customer service rep from Grub Hub who informed me a refund would be issued. I am disappointed, more-so with they way in which my complaint was dealt. Shame on you, David's, for treating your customers this way. I will most certainly not be recommending your business to anyone moving forward.

Great sandwiches and pizza. The best goat cheese and sun dried tomato pizza I've found. Plus always greeted warmly and with a smile.

We also ordered their Caesar Salad which was good. I do remember this spot before it was Drifters and it was called Idle Hour which I loved so much. But I will say I am excited that a new pizza spot is now in its place. I think my next time that I try this will be physically at the restaurant. My only concern is that it is very loud. The place itself was small too so the music really overpowered everything. But once the live music wrapped up the vibes were good! Not too loud that I was screaming over it, but still lively. I got the Heart of Stone which was delicious! Not too sour or sweet, but was definitely a strong cocktail. I had 3/4 of it and I was already feeling it. My friend got an Old Fashioned and she was a big fan! It went down quite smoothly and tasted good too. For $14 a drink, it was a little pricy but honestly I've seen places in Boston charge more. I would recommend coming here to grab drinks but maybe not a spot to catch up because of how loud it was. Would love to try their food as it looked pretty good!

But since then, I've discovered their cheap beer for $4, which rotates, and had outstanding burgers, salads, and pepperoni pizza. Wife had a sausage and pasta dish she absolutely loved. It's loud in here, but the service has always been very good. When I got the side salad with the burger, in lieu of fries, I was really impressed. I moved my burger to a side plate, and the salad filled my main plate. Way more than simple greens. The pizza had lots of cheese and the pepperoni had just the right amount of crisp. Glad I returned. We've now tried Liberty in the Landing, too, which is similar, and closer to us, but this location is a good spot when we're meeting up with Quincy friends.

We had a reservation and were seated right away on a nice large table for the five of us. Nice brick interior, a bit dark for my taste but I am old and couldn't see the menu too well, needed a cell light but super friendly server which always is a plus. Chose the Philly Cheese Steak and got the arugula salad which was fairly large for a side. Sandwich was also good-sized and I only could eat half but the other half made for a nice lunch the next day. Others were happy with their meals, I honestly forget what everyone ordered. The draft beers and other drinks came quickly and waitress was good about keeping our glasses full. Very responsive. Was sort of loud place is my only complaint. Plenty of parking behind the restaurant or on-street.

There is no reason to make a table wait 10 to 15 minutes to get their drinks when the bar is 50 feet from the table and we can clearly see there are 3-4 people behind the bar not doing anything. The food is not made upon ordering. I tried to order the penne vodka without the bacon in the sauce. I was told that "that's the way it comes." So it was pretty clear that the cook is not making any sauce when you order it. (This isn't a red sauce that takes hours.) The pasta is from a box so the prices that they charge for it are not justified. Overly loud Spanish love ballad music was playing at 5 PM in this nearly empty restaurant. Between that and the gigantic white feather decorations just over my partner's head I would say the vibes were off. My partner had seen this restaurant while walking around and thought it could be a good place to try out. He was pretty upset that the restaurant was so meh and that he took me there for my birthday. Bad music. Bad decor. Bad service. Mediocre food.

I was honestly disappointed that I drove all the way to Quincy for it. One thing that stood out was finding chunks of steak in my Chicken Caesar sub. I'm assuming it was from a shared grill, but it wasn't something I expected. Overall, the experience was decent because the restaurant was clean and the staff was pleasant. However, the food was the reason we made the trip, and it simply didn't deliver.
