Think: original, cookies & cream, strawberry, cake batter, etc. Their topping bar is huge with 2 counters full of options. Favorites were their berries, sprinkles, shredded coconut & chocolate chips! Going to dock a point for cleanliness though. A lot of toppings were spilled all over the counter and the tables could be cleaner. The place is self-service so there is little interaction with the staff. They seemed friendly enough though. We came to sweetFrog in Quincy for frozen yogurt for the kids. It was a good spot to meet up for a chat and a treat with easy parking with a parking lot shared with AAA, 7-11, and TD's Deli. It is 74 cents an ounce for your choice of a variety of frozen yogurt, toppings, and sauces. Even with a light hand, two cups hit $13.30 easy, so coming on No Weigh Wednesdays when it is $6 for a small cup or $8 for one of their medium cups, filled as high as you wish, is not a bad idea. We back again for no weight Wednesday! There was a weird pipe or plumbing smell this visit near the back but aside that always pleasant. It was jamming with a lot of team players from the local schools stopping in sounding like they just came from a game. We got the sweet tart and the orange dole flavor yogurt today and i enjoyed mine a lot (the orange flavor) reminded me a bit of orange creamsicle. When I was in middle school, around the corner was Orange Leaf. The concept was identical - help yourself to any flavor and topping combination you want, and then pay by weight. As a newly minted teenager, I was there all the time. That location has since closed, and I moved away anyways. I've been to several similar places since, but none really stuck. Maybe they were far away, maybe the vibe was off... who knows? Enter sweetFrog. All of the sudden, I am 13/14 again! While I think my summertime ice cream fix will still come primarily from Frozen Freddies, sweetFrog will definitely be an amazing add to the list of spots where I am a regular. sweetFrog has an incredible selection of toppings. Wider than anything I've ever seen. There are healthier options for those who enjoy blueberries and/or want to reduce the feeling of guilt. I believe there shouldn't be guilt - everything in balance and moderation, and you're fine, but I digress. On that note, their flavor assortment: They have a fair selection, from the basics of chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla, to more creative like cotton candy. However, it seems many of these are nonfat or reduced fat. I'm the kind of enthusiastic eater who doesn't subscribe to the idea of nonfat or reduced-fat ice cream/froyo. It's not supposed to be healthy, making it such takes out the fun. Life is brutish and short, don't take away whatever joy it has left. However, I do realize there are those who prefer lower calorie options. While not thrilled, I understand. Flavors also change; Sunday night had a different (and narrower) selection than Wednesday afternoon. Keeps things exciting... unless a flavor you love isn't available. Then there is the question of cleanliness. During busy times, this could use a little refinement. On a Wednesday afternoon, there was a large amount of debris behind the toppings counter. To be fair, at that very time an employee came out with a broom - but it's a matter of it reaching that point before action is taken. Some tables could use a wipe as well. Finally, prices: I feel at though 74¢ an ounce is fair, and no-weigh Wednesday will be my undoing, especially if I come in stressed or heartbroken (or both!) In conclusion, while polishing needs some polishing, and I have a slightly different preference of flavor selection, sweetFrog is great, and takes me back to when I have more than half my current age (and now I have adult money!) read more

I loved my first visit! There are so many options of toppings to choose from, and a good variety of different flavor froyo. The total of my cup ended up being around $7, which I thought was worth it for the amount I got and the toppings I chose (you can put as many toppings as you want, but it's by the weight). My main con is that my froyo melted fairly quickly. I had three different flavors in there, and they all melted pretty quick, so I'm not sure if this was just an issue that day. Online states that Sweet Frog closes at 9:30pm, but the employee was already cleaning up and putting things away at 8:30pm. Right when we got there, there was a huge rush of people coming in groups-- at least 20 people in there all at once. The employee didn't even bother stopping anyone at the door or telling some groups to wait outside. Also, not everyone had masks on. When we got to the topping area there was literally only a handful of options left. When I asked if they had cheesecake bites or any fruits, her response was, "No... we are about to close." Last time I checked Sweet Frog closes at 9:30pm, not 8:30pm. If she didn't start putting things away at 8:30pm we wouldn't be asking for any other toppings. This would've gave Sweet Frog more revenue since they charge by weight but no... Also, all I did was ask if you had XYZ, why the attitude? This was so rude and uncalled for. If you don't want to work, you should've just called out. This experience rubbed me off the wrong way and this isn't the first time. The employee at this station had a very bad attitude; I believe this was caused by the stress due to the credit card machine malfunction on Sunday night. There have been some changes at this place since my last review of it but it is still just as great here and the changes are because of the pandemic that we are in the middle of right now. When you walk through the door there is hand sanitizer for you to use before you grab a cup for your frozen yogurt. Which is good to see since it shows that they are following the various protocols that are in place due to the pandemic. The topping bar where you pick out what you want for toppings is not self service anymore at least for now. Instead there is an employee standing there who will put your toppings on for you. Which is actually kind of good for portion control. Plus it's a lot safer right now since there won't be lots and lots of people touching the utensils for the toppings. The place is being kept very clean and the frozen yogurt is just as delicious as it always has been. They have a loyalty program there that will get you a free cup of frozen yogurt after so many visits. So if you decide to try this place definitely ask about their loyalty program. read more

I've tried various flavors and offerings here (lowfat, nonfat, sorbet) and they all have something in common: icy. Maybe I wouldn't mind it as much if the only flavor that had that issue was vanilla, so I can call it vanilla ice. Bad jokes aside, the texture of the froyo and sorbet was intrusive. Toppings weren't that impressive either. Sure, they had all the fixins you'd see at a chain place, but the quality of said fixins was lacking. The sour patch kids were clumpy and stuck together. Some of the fruit, like the mango, was nowhere near ripe. The decor doesn't really impress me. All that hot pink and bright green doesn't do it for me, but it's likely attributed to the fact that I'm not a target demographic. Service was fine, as the folks at the counter were polite. I don't know another froyo place that uses Styrofoam for bowls. Even though I generally like DIY for froyo, I wasn't impressed with this location. First, they don't let you get your own samples - I understand perhaps not letting a child or even a teenager get their own (cost maintenance) but an adult ... Really? So an employee comes out from behind the counter and pulls the samples for you. Weird. Then, the Froyo itself had a very icy quality to it. It wasn't smooth and refreshing like it should have been. The toppings were as expected but I don't go for this anyways. But the price - the price was highway robbery!! For $7 at Sweet Frog, I could have gotten 3x the amount of Froyo at any other spot. I like froyo here and the variety they have. Its self-serving and by weight. Cute atmosphere (coming from a girly girl). Guys will not care much of the interior design.
