On tour with the Wiz, my brother highly recommended this place, and it hasn't disappointed! I really enjoyed my meals, especially the shrimp scampi and salmon Alfredo. I do wish the shrimp scampi had a bit of the wine flavor infused in the dish, and it could have used a touch less oil. Overall, though, the food has been great! Ig :Gingercooksnyc

Veal chops, Lobster risotto, angel hair in vodka sauce, and chicken and pasta dish

Went there on a Friday payday at 6 p.m. The place was not bustling, but about a quarter full for a Friday payday. This usually worries me, but I was already there. Here is the good, the bad, and the ugly. Good-drinks were good and about $14/each, my Veal chops were delicious, my friend's lobster risotto was delicious and the angel hair in pasta sauce was delicious. My other friend's chicken in some kind of pasta was decent at best. She did not finish it. Bad-although the restaurant was slow, it took the waiter almost 20-25 minutes to even acknowledge the 3 of us at our table. We sat there hungry for almost half an hour at a not so busy restaurant. The hostess only gave us one menu for 3 people. I asked for 2 more menus and was told there are no more menu. How is that even possible with the restaurant only a quarter full. I smiled as I usually do and we all shared one menu. Ugly-I paid the bill for all 3 of us and was going to give my usual 30-35% tip because I waited tables for over a decade. I went to add a great tip because the food was great and noticed there was no line for tipping. The waiter, Patrick, already added in 18% gratuity. I have never added gratuity to a table of 3 when I was a server. Nonetheless, he got a lower tip than I was going to give him, that is on him. Overall, I haven't been here in over a decade and I will not be coming back. There are so many more options in Rochester for great authentic Italian.

We love going to Davinci's. The food is always very good and the atmosphere is cozy. A great place to try if you are in the mood for great Italian food and want to support a local business. White linen tablecloths, jazz music, and table candles, and a fireplace in the colder months make for some warm ambiance. I love the Chicken Davinci, Chicken Asiago, Haddock Asiago, and Shrimp Scampi. My husband says their veal saltimbocca is one of his favorite meals anywhere. You can add a salad onto your meal for only $1, and if you don't prefer red sauce, they have a (very garlicky) alfredo sauce upon request. A few things could be improved: their chairs are always wobbly, the salad had cheap iceberg lettuce mix underneath the spring mix on top (I'd rather pay $2 for a full spring mix salad), and we ordered a bottle of wine and our mediocre server didn't bring a chiller for the table.

No Bullet Burbon but the Knob Creek was good. I just came in for a drink‍. Nice atmosphere, nice people.

I ordered the pasta and shrimp special, which was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Unfortunately, my daughter is vegetarian and ordered the Gnocchi Rossi, which was quite disappointing. It lacked flavor and was very bland compared to my meal. The biggest downside of our visit was the service. We were trying to enjoy some quality mother-daughter time together, but our waitress interrupted us constantly--almost every time we took a bite. We repeatedly assured her that everything was fine, yet she continued coming back to the table. At one point, while we were still actively eating, she asked if we were ready for boxes. When I said no, she replied, "Oh, okay, you're just taking your time." It definitely felt like we were being rushed rather than encouraged to relax and enjoy our meal. To top it off, we were never offered dessert or after-meal options. Despite feeling a bit rushed and annoyed by the constant interruptions, we still left a good tip because the waitress was working hard and remained polite. Overall, the food was a mixed experience, the atmosphere was wonderful, but the service made what should have been a relaxing mother-daughter lunch feel hurried.

The restaurant was quite crowded during Friday happy hour, and one server was responsible for both the tables and the bar. He was clearly overworked, so we were not attended to as consistently as we hoped and we only had time for one round of orders. The food took a long time to arrive, while the drinks came out almost immediately. *Cosmopolitan Bianca: was very heavy on the gin. I could only taste the lime, with no hint of cranberry or hibiscus. The hibiscus reduction added a pretty purple color but did not provide any tart or floral flavor. *Sweet Potato Fries: were not perfectly crispy, but the portion size was generous. The honey could have used additional spices, since the dish leaned heavily toward sweetness. *Pepperoni Pizza: This was a good shareable option, although it lacked a proper char and crust even when fresh. The dough sat in a noticeable amount of salty oil. The pepperoni cupped nicely and added a slight bit of texture, but the rest of the pizza was rather soggy. The happy hour menu was serviceable, but nothing was executed particularly well. It is not a bad spot for small bites after work, but I would not go out of my way to dine here.

We were quoted about a 40-minute wait for a table, but told bar seating might open up sooner (around 30 minutes). They took my number and we stepped outside to take a walk around the block while we waited. We ended up getting a text about the bar seat availability in about 15 minutes. Once we got seated at the bar, things turned around quickly. The space has a really cozy, intimate vibe with dim lighting, warm atmosphere and overall it feels thoughtfully put together. We ordered hot toddies to drink, which were perfect for the weather, and for food we got the Japanese sweet potatoes and the cavolo nero pesto. Both dishes were incredibly delicious - flavorful and well-balanced. Just be prepared for a wait (and maybe stay nearby instead of wandering off), but once you're in, it's a great experience!

It's a small space inside but it's designed well enough to manage a flow of traffic for customers and staff. We sat in the back greenhouse area. I think the least enjoyable part of our experience was how loud it was in the restaurant. Definitely not a good spot if you're trying to catch up with someone and your voice doesn't carry. I couldn't actually hear the specials the server was telling us. I want to try out Vern's again, so I may wait until there's an outdoor table or ask to sit in the second level to see if that's quieter. We tried one of their spring menu appetizer items, the Japanese sweet potatoes with kimchi ranch and dill. One bite and I was addicted, these were so so good. We then moved on to the classics for entrees -- bee sting pizza and the ragu-- and we were amazed at how good everything was! The only note we had was about the pizza, it was very soggy in the middle but still edible if you rolled it over in itself. We also had a few cocktails, and while they were somewhat small, you could tell they weren't watered down in any way. Two drinks was more than enough for me. Overall it was a great experience and we want to try it again. If you're someone who struggles to enjoy a meal out where you can't hear much, maybe wait for outdoor tables.
