If they can run your credit card, you will get a notice on the 12th with a late fee of $10.00 and have to pay cash to bring it up to date. If not fixed by the 16th you will get a Pre-Lean notice and another $20.00 fee. You will end paying for their poor management and rip off rules. I will never suggest this place to anyone. Moving to the storage on Leasure town road, because of this, same price, and the floors won't weep salt and water on the floor like the Davis Street does. read more

Such nice people! Matt and Linda are the managers of this storage and Uhaul business. The Hubs and I came in today without an appointment needing a truck to haul some things out of our garage to goodwill. They were friendly and super helpful, got us set up with their smallest truck (we just needed the little one for a few bits of furniture), and sent us on our way. When we returned out truck they were as lovely and efficient as before. They were fast and courteous, and we were in and out with no issues! I don't have any idea how their storage rentals work, but I was super pleased with the Uhaul service they provide! 10stars!!!! read more

This is not to say that the managers are bad. They're doing their job and are nice. They are operating within the confines of the owner which is too bad because otherwise this place would get a five star review. The managers give plenty of notice if things go wrong with your payment. They did me a favor once when they really didn't have to. A lot of this mess was brought on by my own doing but once I learned that you're not able to dig yourself out of a bad month and the trap that is set it just ruins what would have been a pretty great experience. Here's the story, you be the judge... You cannot make a 'partial payment' even if the total of that payment is equal to the amount for the month you are past due. So if you come in in April to pay for an overdue March, they will tell you unless you have April and March in full, in cash or cash equivalent that your money for March is no good to them. They then have the "right" to put a lock on your unit and send your stuff to auction. The payment policy of the place is unfair. To top it off if you are late you can't use a credit card to pay. What does it matter to you what form of payment I make? Sure, "pay on time and you won't run into those problems." Problem is if you don't have access to the office you can't change your credit card information online or over the phone or pay that way either. I can order a pizza over the phone with a card so I think it's pretty easy implement. Nope can't do it. What kind of business refuses money to settle a debt? Probably one that is hoping your stuff in storage is worth more at auction than the hundred or so dollars they're missing out on if you don't pay for a month. Pretty scammy way to jam people up. I had a small unit here for about 10 months. When I went to get my things out I discovered that there had been rats in there. I had a recliner, an ottoman, a mattress and a few other soft surface items that I had to get cleaned and disinfected that had rat poop and pee all over it. A lamp was chewed up as well as all the hoses on my washing machine. When I brought this to the attention of the office they just said that there was nothing they could do and didn't even sound surprised. They keep the exterior of the units pretty clean and I didn't have any issues with spiders or water damage but the place is infested by the looks of the amount of feces that was left in the rented unit. You would think that if patrons were paying good money for storage that the people who own or run it would have a pest control service. I will NEVER use Davis Street Self Storage again. read more

I have never heard of a business that would not take a payment 15 minutes before the business closes. I guess unless you're not the owner. They rather in convenient the customer than themselves. Smfh read more

BEWARE of this Place ,I personally feel they are dishonest , after being a few days late on our last month there , they refused to take my debit card payment , and forced me to pay Cash which I did ,we have receipts we moved our items out ,and then later found that they reported us for none payment ? I BELIEVE they just pocketed our cash ? I CAN NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE . read more

Davis Street Self Storage is the cleanest storage facility I've ever seen and the resident Managers go out of their way to make sure customers are happy. In regard to rodent comments made by previous reviewers, I believe every storage facility has pest control contracts in place to curb the problems associated with mice, rats, roaches, etc. but as we know, they can pretty much get into anyplace they want to and many people unknowingly bring them in with their belongings. This happened to my daughter at a facility in Vallejo but fortunately, she bought the insurance which covered the damage she incurred. They're pretty much all the same when it comes to payments. None of them send out monthly bills anymore but I've been in this office a few different times and have heard them tell new customers when payment is due as well as what happens when you're late. They also make reminder calls which I never received when I had a unit in Fairfield. To Chris M...In regard to, "They stole my money, the accounting is a total fraud.Then they stole and sold the items in my storage, claiming they never received the payments., you do realize they cannot legally steal your belongings by claiming you never paid if you actually did in fact pay. Certainly you received a receipt when you paid your bill so why didn't you take legal action if what you're saying is true? It's really not fair to lie about your situation and claim they were the issue when it was you not paying your bill on time. They've been fabulous to me and many others and are the absolute bomb when it comes to customer service. That's why their facility with 500 or so units is almost always at-capacity; something near impossible to achieve if you're not doing what you should for your customers. read more

Really nice couple. Quick and efficient service. Rented a truck for a day and they were very understanding when it came to a little time overage. Wouldn't hesitant to rent another truck from this location. read more

Worst customer service ever. I had a rat get in my unit and eat all my washer and dryer odds and hoses among other things. They then proceed to call me and tell me they are going to charge a cleaning fee and perishable item fee?!?! Avoid this place read more

I have to agree with the previous person that reviewed. It is now a year later and SAME THING. Had things stored at Davis Street Storage and had to get a bigger unit after my parents passed away and I inherited their things until I had the time to sort through and sell some of their things. My parents had some beautiful and expensive antique furniture, in very good condition, that had been passed down several generations. I started hearing all kinds of things like "people were living in some of the storage units," people were getting into units, there were all kinds of rodents and cats around etc, etc. When they raised the price for like the 3rd or 4th time, I said enough! We looked else where and decided to move out!! Sure enough when we moved our things out of the storage unit at Davis Street I was so upset and pissed !! Several of the expensive antique chairs had stains all over them that were definitely not there when I put them in storage. It looked like an animal had peed all over them. When we cleaned out the storage unit there was rat poop all over. I am SO upset. Not sure the brocade fabrics can handle the cleaning and may have to have them redone. Of course when I looked into our contract 'they are not responsible for any kind of damage like that"........Really, really upset with them! read more
