I was very happy with Visionworks last week. Josie was so helpful with helping me select frames. No pressure to go for designer frames as I told her I wanted to stay within what my insurance allows. So I got conflicting emails and called to see if both pairs of glasses were ready. I called and the girl said she'd check and to hold on. So after 10 minutes of waiting I hung up. I called back and told the person what happened. She checked, apparently online, and right away told me that both pairs were ready. I asked her what happened to the first person who never came back to the phone. She said "oh, she went home"!!! She said the person who went home is named Norma. Very unprofessional. read more

I called Visionworks in Smithtown (I've been coming here 23 yrs) and explained to the front desk person I needed an appointment because I was having trouble with my one eye. She said they had no appointments and told me to put drops in my eyes maybe they were dry. I asked her if she was qualified to tell me that and she said "I only work the front desk". I proceeded to tell her that she shouldn't be telling me that if she was qualified and she told me if I'm not happy go to a different Visionworks. So I hung up on her. I called back the next day and spoke to someone else who was able to get me in that day. Once I arrived the front end persons was kind of rushed and rude with th paper work, however, the doctor and the contact lady were very very nice. read more

Been using Davis in Hauppauge for over 6 years along with my wife and children. Our most recent visit was on 9/29 with my two daughters, they needed an exam and new glasses. Upon arrival we were told only the patient could go to the room for the exam. The girls are minors so that seemed strange. After the exam we were told that they are not dilating eyes due to COVID but there Is a different test that insurance doesn't cover. Not one person helped us or even asked if we needed help while we were trying to find two pair of glasses. Once we were ready to check out they were trying to up sell us on options for the lenses. The next day we tried contacting the store because had a question about our order, it's impossible to reach a live human being. Tried calling the store 5 times to only reach an automated answering service, on hold for over 25 mins but nobody ever picked up. Then I tried calling corporate number 3 times, same thing. I then tried their online chat 2 times, they asked for my phone number and said that it would be forwarded to the store and someone will call me. 3 days later still no call back, just terrible customer service. After this experience they've lost my business, 4 exams and 4 pairs of glasses every year. I'll also be sure to let others know about the wonderful customer service. read more

I went to the Hauppauge store location for the first time on 5/21/19. All of the associates were extremely attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Sciacca gave a thorough exam and was very professional and answered all my questions. I was also impressed with the wide selection of frames, many at reasonable prices. The staff lies to the customer. I was told that my sister would get thinner lenses then her current lense, but they weren't and I payed $40 extra for nothing. I asked to speak with the manager, and they told me he wasn't in the building, that he would come back in an hour. I have been waiting for more than 2 hours and he is still not here. I sadly have to agree with the reviews. The staff that signs you in is extremely rude and unprofessional. I do however respect and like Dr Sciacca very much. My place of employment changed insurance carriers and I called to make an appt with Dr. S. I went elsewhere on my plan and I can't see well. I asked how much it would cost me for an eye exam and I was told anywhere from $85-$165. What??? I asked for clarification and was told it depends. Depends on what? I asked for a contact/eyeglass exam. I made the appointment. Not sure I will keep it though. It depends! I also have to mention I had been a patient for about 13 years as well as my husband and 4 children. I do have to mention Kerri, she is always extremely patient, knowledgeable and very professional and pleasant to work with. Put her in charge or at least have her do some customer service training with the staff. Get with it vision works. You have a lot of competition out there! read more

Only the doctors were nice. Staff wasn't helpful and have attitude problems. They are just a bunch of liars. I was waiting for the manager and they told me he would be back in an hour. I've been waiting for two hours now and he still isn't back yet. They force us into spending money and the selection is not very good either. You can find better glasses at JcPennys or BJ's optical. We have been using this Hauppauge location for a few years now. About once a year I somehow get debris in my eye. If this has ever happen to you, you know how painful and uncomfortable it can be. Usually it is treated as an emergency and takes about 10 minutes between already scheduled appointment. Unfortunately we where met by a reception employee named Salwal, who was anything but helpful. I Had to explain three times what the problem was. He looked at computer and said we have no appointments. He then asked if I could come back in a couple of days. It is unfortunate that someone this callus can be working in the medical field. There was just no compassion/empathy. I then explained that they where our only eye Doctor for several years and insisted he go ask the Doctor. Well to my surprise Dr Sciacca relayed a message saying there was no room in schedule. I counted 1 person in the waiting area. Maybe Davis vision and the Dr should re read the oath they took, and to match to loyalty of their client/patient. And it maybe a good idea for Mr Salwal to pursue another line of work, that does not include human contact. In summation, corporate greed and poor hiring choices of employees with no experience along with the clock being more important than a patient in need has corrupted this business. And the manager should be forced to be a patient of his own store. There also is no customer service hotline. I describe this business are a barrel rolling down a hill full speed. I rate it as a 1/32 of a star because the lights where on. WOW my eye feels better already!!!!!!!!!! Davis vision was not there when I needed them the most ,so when they need me and family for an over priced eye exam or way over priced glasses. I will be at costco or walmart. read more

I usually love the Visionworks locations , but for some reason this location is horrible. I made an appointment online and they didn't bother to even to confirm my insurance before hand. I gave my phone number online it wouldn't have been that hard to confirm with me. Because this wasn't my usual location I called to see if there would be an issue before hand and whoever answered the call couldn't even pretend to care or check. I had to wait more than 30 minutes for her to confirm my insurance. The optometrist was actually great if I ever come back it would be because of her. After they had me wait another 20 minutes to have someone help me pick out my glasses , whoever helped me couldn't help me. I was looking for her and waiting just so she could give me brief answers that weren't helpful at all. I don't ever post reviews , but this place honestly is not a place that I can recommend to anyone. read more
