Wow! A true hidden gem - literally!! Hidden in the back of a halal meat shop/deli, this family-run little spot serves food made with love. The kebabs are packed with flavour, marinated in some magical blend of spices. And, don't get me started on sauces - creamy garlic-shallot, blended mayo-red cabbage that is a blushing pink colour, and a house made chutney filled with a variety of herbs, chilies and tangy vinegar. I could fill a champagne glass with it and drink it! And finally the mantu - delicate, crepe-like skin filled to the brim with a savoury meat and bean filling, then smothered with a piquant lentil sauce and topped with the garlic shallot sauce. While I base my reviews strictly on food, I would give 10 stars for the service here. Mina is so full of joy and pride at working in this little honey spot and her kindness was truly moving. In this day and age, it is so refreshing to find truly kind and authentic service. And she even refused a tip!! Who does that in this day and age where card readers are set to a minimum of 18% for simple counter service. It is worth the drive from downtown Vancouver. I am already dreaming about my next visit. I want more! Got the mixed beef/lamb and I enjoyed it. I split it with my bf and he loved it too. Good amount of food. It is fresh and very clean and delicious flavors. Service is quick. Been wanting to go back every time I pass by but just didn't get the chance. Finally went back the other day for main courses and they had a special that day. Different cook and cashier but same friendly service. The meat were tender and rice were cook to perfection. Not soggy and not undercooked. Great portion and the ingredients are fresh. I'm a big eater and I don't usually get full with 1 main course and some appetizers to share, but with their main course alone, I was actually full and had a few bites left that I couldn't finish so my partner had to finish it for me. I think this is one of my favourite halal restaurant in general, and that says a lot because I've had a lot of halal food in vancouver, Cali, NYC, and Taiwan. I still highly recommend everyone to try as it's a hidden gem. Market is very nice too. Had a friend that used to work there but the ownership changed. When my friend had some issues with the previous boss, this new one was very kind to offer some help. Good place, good food, and good people! read more

It used to there were local restaurants in back home with a warm and friendly environment. It is very seldom to see the same in Great Vancouver ! They used to made foods ready with their specific recipes by using organic and local ingredients to make the taste unique and it is something that hides behind Day to Day! A nice name with a good chef, high level customer service by friendly personnel, good ingredients, and then a warm friendly space. when all those come in one place it gives you a good result!A good tastes which gives you joy! But it is not the all! things The price for each portion is fair and each portions is very generous! They also give you a crispy Tahdig( crispy bread slightly fried under the rices during the cook) on the side, and they do it generously too! Today I took my guest(my mother) there and as always we got a good service and then the waitress provide a good service to makes us happy but also later the real gentleman chef and maybe he is the owner came and checked with my mother to make sure she is happy with everything!
