Kathie , who happened to be the owner Julie's sister assisted me - she was extremely nice and engaging! She even threw in a complementary donut! She also informed me that I could call in to request they hold any of their baked goods for pick -up. I think this is a great way to gain new customers and to keep existing ones! I can certainly see why Fultondale Bakery is a well known staple in the area. It has a home style & cozy feel to it , which is very welcoming. The interior isn't very big but limited seating is available. The pricing menu is posted for all to see and the display cases are well lighted to show off all the yummy sweets! You will see stylish shoppers, not so stylish shoppers (yours truly) sleepy parents, tiny children weaving through the crowd like they pay taxes, and dogs who clearly believe this entire event was organized for them personally. The whole place has a fun, happy energy, and even if you came only for tomatoes, you will leave with a pastry, three unnecessary purchases, and at least one strong opinion about someone's hat.
