The only reason I gave this hotel 3 stars is because the staff is beyond nice and helpful. The place is more than 1/2 burned down and apparently has been for a good long while from what I could gather. They are actively renovating the damaged portion, but it seems to be a long slow process. The room was clean, but not the room I had reserved. It was supposed to be a room for three, wound up in a room barely set up for 2. It was clean, but very worn and dated. Smelled strongly of cigarette smoke even though property was non-smoking. Room was very hot even with the AC cranking. The mattress was the worst. It sagged so badly in the middle it was extremely uncomfortable. The hot water in the shower was great. And the property was quiet. That's about the best I can say about the room. If I hadn't just needed a place to crash on the first leg of my trip I would have been pretty upset. But it was literally the last available room in Burns and I just needed to sleep a few hours. Still, I would recommend staying elsewhere if at all possible, at least until they finish renovating. read more

But I'll tell you , as bad as the guy at the front desk , He made damn sure the following morning , we got our Yoghurt , bagels , and nutrition bars . Coffee , too . DO NOT STAY HERE. TLDR: Disgusting, bad service, owner lied to me, plus pool was empty. I had such a bad experience, we left without staying the night; not only will I never stay at this hotel, I will never stay at another Wyndham hotel. This was absolutely disgusting. I arrived around 10:30pm after having made a reservation two days earlier. When I arrived, there were three separate groups in the tiny lobby. They told me they had all made reservations but that upon arrival, no rooms were ready. Now, ostensibly, a hotel worker was cleaning the rooms. Everybody has been told the rooms "were already clean; they just need fresh towels." They said a hotel worker had disappeared ten minutes prior, leaving them alone in the lobby. After I had been standing around for another five minutes, a man showed up and got stuff moving... sort of. Everybody kept getting told that the rooms were all clean "they just need fresh towels." Meanwhile an (apparent?) hotel employee was wheeling dirty bedsheets around without a shirt on. When it got to my room, I was told that the system had erroneously put me in a room that hadn't been cleaned but that they had clean rooms so I would just be moved, No problem. Ok, I say, let's go to the room then. Dude keeps stringing me along, engaging me in conversation, I'm guessing to keep me from going to the room. Dude (who claims to be the chain owner's son, down from Canada) tells me that since the first employee is busy, he'll go get another employee. So another dude shows up, REEKING of weed, heads to clean my room. When we finally get to the room, we are knocked over by the smell of chemicals. The two men are in the bathroom, still cleaning. The bed is made but not in a way that would have passed an inspection. When I scoff, the owner says that this is one of the nicer rooms they have, freshly remodeled. I tell him that he's clearly been lying to us, which is what I was saying all along. Part of the problem here is that the guy was a somewhat convincing liar. I mean if the situation hadn't been so GLARINGLY bad, according to his face and tone, I might believe that he was telling the truth. He was a likable guy. Among his lies, he told me multiple times that he had already inspected the room and taken photos of it, even. Now the employees were "just mopping the floor"??? At one point an employee comes out with the shower curtain balled up and says to the other, "we're going to need a new shower curtain." Wtf was happening in the shower that the curtain needs REPLACED at 11pm, and how would this room have passed inspection earlier in the day? Some other guests popped out of their room to complain and said their room smells like Raid and its full of giant, flying bugs. I look in my room and sure enough, at least a dozen huge flying bugs are there in the first four feet of the room. I don't even mind bugs but this was overwhelming. Those folks also said that one of their beds didn't have a top sheet. We took our stuff inside the room and continued to wait while the employees cleaned but we couldn't even breathe in there it was so nauseating. So after waiting for 45 minutes at this point, we just packed up our stuff and left. Another funny detail was a sign that said all pets must be on leash but a big, shaggy, dirty dog with no collar wandering around seemingly without a human. Dog was also in the breakfast area. To top it all off, the pool was completely drained. This property DOES NOT MATCH ITS PHOTOS! Do not book here! read more

parking lot snow was shoved into a few slots so limited parking, construction crew trucks each took up 1.5 spaces, so when we arrived at midnight parking was impossible, and I'm a disabled war veteran. the rooms have no curtains, just mesh netting, outside each room is a light to illuminate the walkway, so all night there's bright light shining into the room. if your in the room and turn lights on, then outside can see inside - zero privacy. on checkout the receptionist offered a refund, but didn't know how so said she would have the manager do it and call me, nothing happened. raised an issue with Hyatt who promised a dead line for a response, nothing happened, called and emailed several times, just silence.. I'm so disappointed, booked via Expedia who also said they would try, admitted the property manager wouldn't take their call so "that's the end of the matter" disgusting. read more

My stay there was several days. The room was clean, with ample towels and a comfortable bed. The continental breakfast was available 24 hours a day. The staff was excellent, responding quickly to my every request. If I ever need to stay in Burns again, I will stay here and if I could give it 6 stars, I would do so. read more

This morning the smell in the lobby like sewage and toilets over flowed. Smoking people outside their doors, next to our room instead of designated smoking areas. Compared to the other Wyndham Inns, this one is not up to par. When we arrived in the evening the wrapped breakfast food was still out. In the morning my husband tried a wrapped fruit bar that tasted of smoke. We don't know how that can even happen. The inside room paint job was sloppy and lumpy. Everything is disgusting. Everything outside and inside would have to be upgraded by redo or replace. The parking lot needs total repair, resurface and re tar. I didn't even want my dog to walk on it. The rooms... half the lights weren't working. They upgraded us to a suite... was old, filthy, and older than anything I'd ever seen in any hotel. The beds are like boards. My sister said it's like they aren't even real mattress. There is a lot more I can say but I'm running out of time and have to get outta here before the fires get all the way to the town. Yep I said fires. Ash is falling and the air is so smokey visibility is reducing as I write this. The town is under warning of evacuation and the owner of the hotel wasn't going to let us out of our reservation. The place is under a remodel. Got one of the recently remodeled rooms. The walls and floor look good. The furniture and bedding look like they came straight for 1983. Tv is tiny and remote only partial works. Floors are thin. I can hear everything going on above me. Part of the hotel looks like it is abandoned. Doors are left open with caution tape. Do yourself a favor and keep going or sleep in your car. This place is a dive. The carpeting is so dirty that your bare feet stick to it. Maintenance is barely above passing. There was hair on two of my pillows, questionable stain on the chair with a piece of condom or bandaid on the floor nearby, hair in the bathroom, dirty bath mat, walls were dirty and soooooo much more. Charged us $190 for this dump and called it a suite. Half the building is unusable from fire damage, they need to just burn down the rest of it. Sorely in need of an update. I WANT my money REFUNDED!!! I'm so livid. NEVER EVER have I stayed in a horrible hotel like this one. You get 1 hand towel and 2 bath towels which they ask you to reuse your towel. The bathmats is stained all over as is the shower curtain and a patched bathtub. No ice machine but there is an ice bucket. They gave us a used paper pad, in our room, maybe 3 pieces of wrinkle how cheap. The welcome notebook is filthy. The rough blanket had hair all over it.Now I go to get this breakfast that I paid to have. It's description was pastries, cereal, juice, fruit ECT. Omg we got 1 apple and 1 banana, that's it! When I complained that this isn't what was described. She proceeded to tell me how she's a single mom and didn't have money to buy breakfast. I said but it was included. She preceded to wine more about her situation and I said I'm sorry but I don't care, I paid for it and she slammed the phone down on me. Theres quite a few hotels in the small area that is burns, definitely some more up-scale ones if you're looking to pay for for it. The hotel room consisted of very old looking furniture but more importantly it was very clean. The bathrooms were actually quite decent. It includes a coffee maker in the room with complimentary coffee and creamer which is quite delightful l! It includes a continental breakfast in the small lobby area: it has cheese strings, yogurt, toast and cereal and has a coffee bar too along with orange juice. The room has a tv with cable access and the town has access to dairy queen, McDonald's and Safeway for all your basic needs. Overall, I was there for one night and my stay was pretty decent! The wifi access was steady and strong and if passing through I would stay there again. read more

Nasty! Not sure when the carpet or bedspreads were last cleaned. They didn't stink - just smelled dusty/unwashed. Outlets were hard to find to charge phones (behind the bed!). Very noisy - thin walls and between floors ( never stay in a first floor room!) Exterior metal stairways with constant traffic kept us up for a good bit of the night woke us up early. The whole please is in need of a serious upgrade. The only reason we stayed here at all is that we were moving and had our cat with us and this was the only place in town that I could find that would take a pet. The front desk staff was very nice - but that was the only nice thing about this place. read more

I was driving from Utah to Grants Pass, Oregon by myself last minute on 4/11 for a family emergency, my sweet husband insisted I stop off about halfway through the trip to rest, and not drive at night, so I had him reserve me a room in this "quaint" little town online. Dogs tired (and a grumpy one in tow), I go to the front desk to check in, and am greeted by two very young curt girls, possibly bff's, scarfing down their supper. Granted, it was suppertime. Looked local. Possibly home-made. Smelled delicious. I'd be curt too if you tried interrupting this feast. I tell them I have a reservation and they promptly tell me I do not. I confirm with my hubby on speakerphone who unknowingly made it for the defaulted date on the app, which is 2 weeks from today. BTW, this place comes with complimentary eye-roll. (Spoiler: that's worth at least one star). My patience level is about a 9 at this point on a scale of 1-10. These little fashionistas then tell me they have one room left but the heater didn't work, however they have a space heater I could use. Tempting. Did I mention I was tired? And hangry? So, I go to pay and it's $89+$15 pet fee. Now, here's where these girls stepped up their game. They felt my hesitancy and really tried to sell me on that space heater. I mean, how cold does it get here in "Burns", Oregon? Ultimately my pride in customer service won over, and I said nope. I think I'd rather take my chances and sleep in my car. I told them just to cancel it...and as I walked away, I SWEAR I heard one of them say under their breath, "good luck". Really all they had to do was offer me some of their fries, so good on them for going above and beyond. So I get online to see what's left, and find America's Best Value Inn. I left them their very own review. I also got charged $80.03 by Days Inn Burns, so of course that's under investigation. I didn't even get the name of the restaurant. Good luck. read more

Myself and my daughter were told at 930 at night that we could not park the Uhaul van we were driving and had registered under, to Utah with all her belongings in their parking lot because it was too big and would take up more than one parking spot. This was hours after I had checked in, the lot was NOT full, and also after hardware stores were closed to buy locks to secure the van. We are in the middle of freaking nowhere! We were told we would have to park it behind the building where there were no lights or cameras, across the street in a public field..again no lights nor cameras, or in a bank parking lot across the street. Nice way to alert potential travelers of your lack of security OR allowance for moving vans..DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL if you have a vehicle with a trailer or is in any way oversized. Friendly staff & decent room. Room was clean, bathroom fine, & have HBO. Just driving through & stopped for the night. Picture tube TV remote had battery but wouldn't turn TV on & power switch on TV didn't work as well. TV finally turned on after I pressed both up & down channel buttons. Turning off the TV was a challenge so I just pulled the power cord off. The heater in the room was set permanently at 71 degrees. Even after I increased the heat it didn't make any changes. The entrance door didn't have a good seal so temp very in the room. The outside temp was only 10 degrees. I called front desk but the phone was dead. I realized someone had unplugged the phone so I looked around & plugged the phone back in. read more

Booked a room through Expedia. Relatively clean. What I expect from an older motel when I'm travelling since I'm just looking for a bed and shower. It got weird when we got back from dinner. The desk clerk checked someone else into our room and I came back to my door wide open and a younger couple standing in the room surrounded by my stuff looking confused. They and my dad went down to get things straightened out. Lady at the desk wasn't much help. Said she would try to contact the owner that evening since she was unable to do anything like comping him back on his room rate. Didn't hear back this morning so we started loading up my truck. Neither key card worked. Best guess is when she rechecked in the other people to a different room our got cancelled out as well. Went down to get that resolved and the same woman was working. My dad asked if she had spoken with the owner and she said she hadn't gotten in touch with him yet. So she fixed the keys and we continued to move out. About 10 minutes later he went down to see if anything had been accomplished since it was time to get on the road. She comped him back part of the room rate but then tried to turn it around saying he was in the wrong for confronting her about it last night. Now he waited in line while several other customers were checked in to address the issue and brought it up when it was his turn. He can be brusque but it's not as if he verbally abused her. He just wanted the situation addressed since it was ultra shady. The whole episode this morning felt like a massive attempt at CYA. Who knows if the owner was ever even reached. I should have known to run when we pulled up and a couple was making out and dry humping on the second floor walkway. While my husband was getting the key the girl went from having pants to not having any and proceded to bend over and ask for what I am sure happened after he unbuckled and shoved her into their room....but we had pre-paid and traveled many hours with a toddler and a baby so I was tired. When we got into the room it was pretty worn (which is not a deal breaker for me as long as it is clean). The first thing I noticed was the door was not secure and the room appeared very easy to break into since the dowels in the window wouldn't go down due to the dirt and grim clogging the track. We got a room with a separate sleeping area for my toddler so she can sleep better....I went to move the bed against the wall so she wont roll out and I found some awesome treasures (a cigarette butt, a rusty nail, part of what looked like the edge of a condom wrapper, and a dead roach) The shower and tub were so dirty that I skipped bathing the babies that night. The bedding was thin and stained and I was itchy all night. Honestly you would save more money and be happier camping. I hate giving bad reviews and especially to a place that gave me free adult entertainment and lovely treasures in my room....but ohh well...looks like this place is just good for getting it up the butt. read more

A respectable place to stay in central Oregon. My check-in was pleasant, and the staff was nice. The room was clean and comfortable. I was awoken in the middle of the night by the folks in the room next door, who were moderately noisily sharing a night of passion. They certainly weren't exceedingly noisy, but it was completely, unfortunately, audible - including very clearly hearing "Can I get you a tissue?" at the conclusion of the festivities. The continental breakfast was respectable - bananas, bagels, brownwater (weak coffee). All in all, not awful, not amazing. read more
