We stayed at Rory & Ryan's on the first day of our cross country trip. Gal at front desk was very nice and gave us a discount for my hubby being a veteran. Room was nice although it could have been cleaner. Tub had a slip resistant finish and unfortunately look liked some dirt was trapped in the grip texture. Chair/ottoman was stained so we didn't use it. If you have upholstered furniture keep it clean or get rid of it. Breakfast was included in the room charge, $99.99 w/o tax, which was enjoyed. The woman in charge of the breakfast room was nice to adults but a little impatient with the kids that were unsupervised. No one wore masks and the breakfast attendant gave us her opinion of the pandemic which was sadly uninformed. The hotel had a hot tub and small indoor pool. Looked lovely. Wish I would have seen it before checking out. Overall, the employees at R&R were very pleasant but not one employee work a mask nor did they enforce the mask policy posted on the front door and in the hallways. read more

Manager was grumpy and rude, everyone else was extremely nice though. Beds uncomfortable, felt very cheap. Kids got blamed for putting holes in the room walls from the door opening too aggressively (not sure why they don't install door stops). Kids swore that there were already holes in wall when we first got there, but the kids still got blamed for them and we had to cover the cost to fix the walls. Never been around someone so rude who worked at a motel/hotel. read more

Stayed during a visit with family. Non-smoking room. Was charged 250 dollars for having marijuana i bought legally from a dispo a block away in the hotel room even though i never smoked it in the hotel. THERE IS SECURITY FOOTAGE TO PROVE I SMOKED OUTSIDE. Weed was in my bag in the room (since i had no vehicle with me). Even though onve i removed the unsmoke weed, the smell went away, i was told the amell soaked into fabric and i had to pay. (No where on premise does it say marijuana isnt allowed on property.) This happened on the first night of a five night stay. Nothing like traveling to recreational weed state to get in trouble for having pot on person. read more

If you are on a motorcycle, ask for the ground floor rooms that are closest to the rear entrances and it will be less of a toll unloading your bike. The pool has a waterfall and that drowns out the kiddie play noise that can be overwhelming while using an indoor pool. The hot tub is ample. I happened to arrive in Burns the weekend of the rodeo - and most places were sold out already. I remembered Suzanne A's review of Rory & Ryan - so I gave it a try. Since they had sold out all but the efficiency apartment and the suite (with jacuzzi!) -- the concierge gave me a discount on the efficiency - which was RIGHT off the lobby. Fantastic! She also mentioned that both of her brothers were going to be in the rodeo - so, of course - I decided that I had to stick around to see that. I unloaded and headed to the grocery store for supplies, made myself dinner and kicked back with an episode of "Mythbusters" on one of the two TVs in the unit while my clothes ran in the adjacent laundry room. The room was clean and comfortable though the kitchen wasn't very well stocked with usable pots & pans - lots of old flaking teflon stuff - fortunately I had my own kitchen kit with me. The pool was all MINE for the entire morning - nobody even came in to look at it. The rodeo was fun and I am really glad that I decided to stay - it was a nice break, even though it was above my budget. read more

As with everything else, I think the price of a room here is brand based. Although the rooms are very decent and the beds are really comfortable, I have to wonder why the rates on a Monday night in Burns, OR have to be around $90 in December. I have stayed here a time or two over the years, and don't recall any problems service wise at all. I can certainly say there is NO problem with the heater in my room. Rooms have a refigerator and a microwave if you need either of these, and plenty of channels on the Cable TV. read more

Owner was defensive basically called me a liar, very unprofessional. They feel entitled because of there busy season. Very rude.

Although this place is slightly older, it is magnificently maintained! The staff is very nice and helpful. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The pool and the hot tub were great. The breakfast was really nice! And the price for the room was very modest compared to other places. When I come through there again, I will definitely be staying there! read more

If I could give a half star I would I've lived in Oregon my whole life and travel through burns at least 5 time a year every one in the town is super nice but this hotel has terrible Customer service and everyone there are rude we got In super late at night and it was our first time here I booked on a third party website and information that was on there was not accurate as there policies but we didn't know till the next day where they charged me 100 more for my stay even though we didn't have a clue read more

We stayed here both before and after hiking in the Steens. The rooms were clean and came with a refrigerator and microwave. It took a long time to get hot water but it did arrive. The water running in nearby units was loud. The AC worked well and it seemed a typical (and decent) Best Western- very popular. The have a second motel (also a RORY & Ryan's Inn) next door. It looks identical. I'd stay again as they let us leave one car there for several days while we hiked. It's RORY & RYAN'S INNS. read more

We stayed here for a week while having job interviews here in Burns. They put us up here for the week. The place was very clean and had a nice entry way. Pool and jacuzzi opened 24hrs and is inside which was great! Breakfast buffet was good with great waffles. The place never was very busy but the staff was very helpful. She's extremely rude and started to cut me off as I was explaining to her a different representative stated I am able to cancel reservations before 6pm. I reserved 4 nights at the hotel and had to cancel one of the nights due to work and unable to stay. Will not be coming back until management gets rid of this piece of junk. Somewhat clean rooms, but they have the shortest continental breakfast time frame ever. 6-9 am if you show up at 9, you are SOL. And they don't tell you that it closes at 9 am just that it starts at 6 am and the room where you get doesn't have any information on the sign. This hotel came recommended to us by family who had nothing but good things to say about it. From the minute I checked in I had a bad vibe about this place. Starting with some kind of insect bite my husband received after immediately sitting down in one of the chairs in the room and capped off with the discovery of toe nail clippings on the carpet (had I noticed this before I went to bed and not the morning after I probably would have demanded a refund). Our room and the hallways were absolutely filthy. I'm up for second chances but not sure I'd give it another go with this place. read more

We stayed here on the advice of local (they said it is the best hotel in the area) and found it to be a decent place to stay. The lobby is nicely decorated and they have a really cool indoor pool. They also had a complementary breakfast but we had breakfast with our friends at the Apple Pedler next door. Our room was large and we liked the quality of the beds. To be honest, the walls could use a good scrubbing and we were not happy that the window A/C was loud and either had to run all the time or be shut off. read more

We stopped here on our way through Burns as a spur of the moment thing while heading to Mt. Hood. We had our dog with us and we were happy to hear that they accepted pets for a fee. Our room ended up being almost $130 with taxes and pet fees! I thought that was pretty outrageous for a Monday night in Burns. However, once we got to the room I was just plain shocked at the price we paid. The room was absolutely disgusting! It was filthy, smelled like armpits and human urine, had a tv from the 90's, and no functioning bathroom light. We had already paid and brought our stuff in so decided to stick it out for the night. There was breakfast offered in the morning. Unfortunately, despite having a list of several items the choice was biscuits and cold gravy or watered down coffee. We packed up and got the heck out of there as quickly as possible. Needless to say I would not recommend this overpriced pit to anyone. read more

It's an okay place. My family has been staying here for years. But this particular trip wasn't that great with them. For one, the chairs in our room were broken. Why not just take the wheels off the chairs so they just sit on the floor? The blankets had gross spots on them. The cable or the television were terrible - not sure if it was the reception or tv but you could barely watch it which bummed the kids out. Also, they don't tell you that if you use your debit card to pay for your stay, they add and hold an additional $50 so budget accordingly and when I called to ask about it, the girl was rude. I'm sorry but when you're messing with people's money, you should be REQUIRED to disclose any extra costs or HOLDS of their funds. She said all hotels do this, well not the ones I've ever stayed at. They didn't do this in the past. And had we known, we would have had them just run the card as credit or paid in cash. Next time I think we'll skip the pool and just stay next door at the Sundowner. These big chains just don't cut it any more. read more

Not many options out here but this looked adequate. Needed a dog friendly room. New puppy! Much to my surprise and relief, vinyl floors. Bed was comfy. That's about all I can say about the room that is positive. When I checked in, I had already made a reservation and disclosed that I was traveling with pup. Upon check in, clerk felt the need to tell me that had I not disclosed the pup that I would've been charged $100! Pointless and somewhat rude. After wandering around the room last evening in my bare feet I realized that the floors had not been cleaned in who knows how long! My feet were filthy! Gross. Glad we covered that potential additional charge for "excessive mess or damages!" I know these things need to be discussed but it's all in the approach people. Please look into some deep cleaning if your rooms and a decent TV with a remote that you don't have to strong-arm would be nice! read more

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. The hotel was nicer than we expected. Our single king room had plenty of space for our toddler to play. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the bedding a little thin, we asked for a second blanket and got one without issue. The a/c was pretty loud when it kicked on (we decided to forego it and opened the window after it woke up our daughter a few times). The room was clean. The breakfast was decent. Small biscuits, that ran out an hour into breakfast on Sunday. Waffles were good and we enjoyed the yogurt. I was surprised to not see fresh fruit (they have fruit cups). The pool was a good temperature and we had lots of fun in it. There were a very large amount of harmless bugs in the water, we did our best to ignore, but it could be off putting to some. Lastly, the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. Everyone we encountered did their best to help us. One more thing, when I called to reserve the room I asked if they had cribs. I was told they had pack and plays that were $10 a night. We decided to bring our own. When we arrived, the book in the room says, cribs are complimentary to guests. It would have been nice to not bring ours. In all, we would stay again. read more
