First and foremost, put a sign on the side of the road with an arrow pointing to where this business is. I thought the business didn't exist even though I followed directions on Google Maps I had to pull over into a vacant parking lot, recheck the directions, make an illegal u-turn and drive slower to finally see the business. How in the hell do you expect someone to find your business when it's all the way in the back like you trying to hide and don't want customers? Aside from it being in an area I'm not familiar with the entrance and lobby is small but very clean. The room was very clean, let me tell you how clean it was after I walked into my room: My ADHD-self sprayed Lysol and wiped down the nightstands, dresser drawers, the table, television stand, microwave, recliner, coat hangers, bathroom sink, the sheets and pillows, the bed and headboard. Between our group we booked 4 rooms. 3 out of the 4 rooms smelled bad of cigarette smoke, even though they are non smoking rooms. When I brought up the issue with the front desk he said there was nothing they could do. Doors will not shut unless you push/pull on them, which is a safety concern. Room was dirty. Bathroom door handles are broken. Paint job was horrible. It was done only with one coat and the edges were not done. Bathroom vent was broken. Breakfast was only toast cereal and waffles. Faucet has good water pressure shower/bath is a dribble. They have signs saying hang your used towels and they will give clean ones and bed linens every 3 days! Microwave has wrong table and doesn't rotate, refrigerator iced up TV has 3 large white spots on screen. Been here 5 days and only housekeeping have seen is trash gets emptied and if I put my used towels on floor I get clean ones, I think. No elevator to carry heavy luggage, I'm 76. read more

I don't know what anyone expects from a Days Inn because they're usually a discount chain. I booked this through a discount app and when I found out which hotel it was and read the horrible reviews I was mortified. We arrived at dusk in a torrential rain storm after driving 12 hours. Upon entering the lobby there was quite a few people behind the counter and in the lobby but the gal who helped me Katie was extremely friendly, professional and helpful since we were pulling a cargo trailer and parking it was a bi**h. She checked us in promptly and the gentleman behind the counter told us where to park that was suitable to us. The wind was blowing and pouring rain. This is a pet friendly motel which is great. Once parked and went to the back door our key cards wouldn't work but luckily there was someone nice enough to see we were struggling and let us in, then they didn't work on our room either so I had to go back down to reactivate the cards. She said if I have them near my phone it will deactivate them. Who knew? But once in the room it was clean, had a king bed with lots of pillows, clean linens, towels, toiletries, microwave, small refrigerator, safe and a flat screen with DIRECTV. The room was quiet and a great stop over for a night of good rest. We were pleasantly surprised after reading all the bad reviews because it was decent for the price and the staff was friendly. When we first checked in, no one at the front had a mask on and the price was 2x the amount on booking.com. We had already spent 10.5 hours driving so this was our only option. Older, basic Days Inn but not bad. The rooms aren't as good as the one up in Ogden and it doesn't have hot breakfast, but it also didn't have the major maintenance issues I ran into further north. No fridge/micro in the rooms was the biggest bummer (since the Ogden one has them at roughly the same price). Kinda surprising since they definitely had some weekly/monthly people living there. Room had a pretty good flatscreen, cable selection is good, wifi worked well too. Good-sized safe was a nice surprise. "Continental breakfast" is just oatmeal, Fruit Loops, white bread and coffee. Walking distance to a Taco Bell, Dollar Tree and McDonalds among a few other things. Wouldn't be my first choice in the area but OK if it's a really good price or you really need to specifically be in Clearfield for some reason. read more

First of all if I could give 0 stars I would. This Days Inn should definitely be checked on by main corporate since unfortunately it is privately owned it gives Days Inn a horrible name. I checked in after an exhausting long drive, dropped off my stuff and noticed the room smelled and looked disgusting. As hungry and tired as we were we just dropped off our things and went out to grab something to eat, (not even in the room 5 minutes) got back used the bathroom and the toilet water tank wouldn't shut off and the toilet over flowed out into the room. I was told that they were all sold out and could not be accommodated. I was then handed a plunger and towels and was told to clean the best I could. No one ever came to look at the room. By then it had flooded into the carpet in the room. I then went back to the front desk and asked the girl if I could get a refund so I could book another hotel since I couldn't be accommodated. She said she had to call the manager.The manager said no refund. We asked her kindly to speak to her manager and never got a response. After waiting for over an hour the manager/owner shows up at the lobby yelling at me and blaming me for the incident. She was telling us to leave her property because we were trespassing and she had the right to refuse service. I have never felt so disrespected, humiliated and threatened. I never write reviews but I felt it was needed here. The shower hasn't been cleaned in a long time and when I asked housekeeping to clean it, she said she did. Hard to believe when the carpet hasn't been vacuum in quite awhile. Junk all over the floor. The arm chair in the room had stains all over it. Seriously, this is the worst place I've ever stayed in. The night desk man was nice, but the hotel is the pits. Scratchy towels, smokey and musty room, paint pealing in the bathroom (quite obviously). The pillows were so old and disgustingly balled up that I wouldn't even let my dog sleep on one. Carpets sticky and stained, and drapes barely holding onto the wall. I think I barely closed my eyelids, what a friggin' dump. I've never stayed at this chain before, and would think twice about doing it again. The front desk management team doesn't have good communication between day and night shift. Apperently there is an un written rule I was supposed to know that guests cannot do laundry at night and my work schedule is crazy enough that it's the only time I could make to do laundry. So the best I could do is do laundry before work which doing 2 jobs made it a headache and my clothes are mildewed because of this time constraint that made it impossible, plus the way the manager acted prissy saying I can't do my laundry at 3 in the morning and I hurt my back over that leg of the journey. And maybe they should put on 3rd party sites or reach out to 3rd party sites to make guests aware of the security deposit hidden fee they have on site before throwing the blame on guests and their clients. Been driving for over 12 hours and get to the location at 9:30pm to check in and the hatefull manager says they already booked our room to someone else because the card wasn't good. I had my card stolen between the time I booked so the credit card company had to send me a new card. She said she did her updates at 4:00 pm. My husband and I were in the mountains with no signal most of the day. I looked at the email messages after she said she sent out a message it was sent at 8:33pm. Their was no way that she had a customer within 30 minutes only 10 cars in the lot so I knew she was lying. My husband and I had to sleep in the car, no reason to be hunting for a room that late and have to be at the airport at 4am. What pisses me off is all of the other 6 nights I had messages or phone calls from the locations and they honored our room with our new card and the messages came in before 5pm. Hell she said she cancelled us at 4pm so she could of called early and I could of got the message when we had service from time to time. I called Booking.com about this since they were the one that sent the message so late. They had all kind of excuses and didn't want to hear it. I booked half through Booking.com and half through Expedia and never have had an issue with Expedia. I know to never stay at a Days Inn and I will never recommend Booking.com No excuse for this. I have been traveling for years and have always had good credit and I refuse to be treated with this kind of disrespect and I want others to know about this Days Inn's manager and for people to stay away from Booking.com. Will not stay here again. We stayed here a total of 4 nights. After arriving and getting out of the car, there was a strong chemical smell in the air. Only to find out throughout the week, this was the chemicals to clean the towels. The towels had a strong smell of some sort of bleach. We went to our room and immediately after opening the door, I was knocked over by the insanely strong smell of smoke. The room was absolutely disgusting. The room number was #122. STAY AWAY from this room. The next day we requested to be put in another room. They did move us upstairs to room #206 which was much better. Ask for this room if it's available. The towels were super hard. It felt like I was exfoliating, while drying off. Almost considered buying some cheap towels for the stay. The towels had long black hairs in them. Night 3 of 4 was party night. Upon arriving around 9pm there was a strong smell of pot in the lobby. The entire hotel actually. We were lucky enough to room next to the people hot boxing their room. Thankfully they were pretty quiet most of the night. Check in and check out was easy. This is an OLD hotel and it shows. The bathrooms feel dirty. The room felt dirty. Both the gf and I didn't even wanna take our shoes off in the first room. They had a complimentary breakfast, although we decided not to take advantage of it. Yep, should've read reviews first. Filthy!! There is a line of dust around the whole room on the floor in the corners/edges. They have not vacuumed the edges in months! There was a pile of crumbs on the floor in the lobby when I checked in, and was still there 16 hours later when I checked out. There are also three spiders in my room that I can see easily. This place sees themselves as a low end motel and they live up to those expectations. Our room was clean and the bed was acceptable; however, everything seems old and it does not appear they have renovated in quite a while. All the outlets in the room were taken up by floor lamps, refrigerator, microwave or TV. They do have a desk, but no outlets anywhere to be found around the desk. The outlet in the bathroom did not work. Therefore, we had to move many pieces of furniture to get to outlets to charge the phones, ipads and cameras carried by travelers in the electronics age. Their management's attitude was typified by the sign on the breakfast door. "Days Inn requires us to only have a light breakfast, so we have a light breakfast of coffee, tea, white bread, waffles and one cereal.". You could tell this motel did not really want to put any breakfast out, so they did the minimum. I have never seen plain white bread slices laid out in the case every other Days Inn uses to hold muffins. This approach is very effective in making the bread stale quite quickly. The breakfast area is extremely small and the waffle maker is broken, so you have to fight to get a waffle. This motel requires a surprise $50 deposit you can either put on your card or pay in cash which you are supposed to get back when you check out. The only bright spot was the price was $100/night before taxes, so right at $110/night with taxes & fees. read more

Room was not clean. I had to change my own sheets because the sheets were dirty and covered with other guests hair. We swapped the sheets and took the blankets off because I figured they were just as dirty. The next day we came back to fresh towels and the blankets were gone. We checked out early and I got a call from the property manager accusing me of stealing the blankets. She started blaming me for towels missing and my room never being cleaned. If I could give no stars I absolutely would. As someone who travels and stays in hotels pretty regularly and is not even close to being picky about them, this experience was horrendous. After traveling for 13 hours already today I decided to check into the Days Inn Clearfield with my dog. My past experiences with Days Inn have been decent but this was just unacceptable. Upon walking into the lobby, I found the man behind the front desk with big muffled headphones on and SLEEPING. Now I realize it's the middle of the night and over night shifts suck BUT headphones on and dozing off is as unprofessional as you can get. The hotel smelled like an ash tray as soon as I stepped foot in the front door and I was immediately taken back by the lack of cleanliness at the front. Still giving them a try, I got the key up my FIRST ROOM. I literally didn't even take a step in the door. It looked like the most disgusting of college frat houses threw an all week party and it was just left like that. Empty cans everywhere, the floor was trashed, totally stripped bed showed off all of its stains, and the room reeked of urine. And this was a room that was supposedly cleaned and ready for me to stay in..... I obviously went back to the front desk, told the worker about the situation and he was NOT EVEN SURPRISED. He actually said that this has happened before. Wow. I'm not sure what possessed me but I asked for a different room instead of just walking out. So he gave me a new one and this SECOND ROOM was equally as filthy but at least put together this time. I stood in there a second before promptly calling the Hilton down the street to take my business somewhere I know will be quality. I went back to the front and asked for a refund and told the gentleman at the front desk the situation, how disappointed I was, and that the lack of care in the whole building was absolutely unacceptable. I wrote some of the issues for the manager and will be calling in the morning to ensure I get my refund. The cons...air conditioner would not cool; lights near beds had a poor switch; scratches and stains on furniture; breakfast area had broken waffle maker, broken microwave, no attendant to replenish items (8:10 am), understood there was fruit, but it consisted of poor bananas, apples and oranges, only had 3 slices of bread in the tray, toaster sort or worked. So breakfast consisted of a bowl of cereal and some orange juice. Beds were ok. No sheer privacy curtain on window, as our window overlooked several backyards of a housing development. I booked a reservation on hotwire.com, and was placed at the Days Inn, 572 N Main St, Clearfield UT 84015. I arrived around 9:00 PM on 8/12/2014. The was a Kelly at the desk. There was one man ahead of me. It took approximately 10 minutes or so to be checked in as Kelly kept chatting with the male customer. In that time I found out: Kelly's dad hates her boyfriend who she's been dating for about a year and a half. Her dad calls him "dingledorf". Kelly started smoking in the military. She's tried to quit about 8 times, and lasts maybe 3 months at the most. She gets so agitated that she ends up starting again. Kelly stated she has to smoke because her manager won't let her drink on the job. Kelly loves blue raspberry icee's. She kept telling the customer that she wanted one, and would drink them until her face is half blue. She said she drinks maybe 3 of them a day. Music playing in the back office was very loud. Kelly left the desk at one point for a minute or so to go change the radio station. After checking the man in Kelly closed out of his reservation and had to go back into it to try and find the room number. Kelly asked the customer if she already asked for his ID and swiped his card... Kelly gave him 4 keys because she said the locks are constantly having issues. This customer seemed to be a frequent guest yet she was delaying my checking in by idling chatting about her personal life. Once I went up to the desk she greeted me with "What do ya need?". I gave her my name for the reservation. She didn't ask for ID or anything and handed me the keys to my room 211. The room had not even been cleaned prior to my arrival. I spent maybe 10 minutes in the room just to take pictures to document the condition. The issues were: Dirty bedding with urine, pubic hairs, long hair on the pillows, and blood on the sheets. Dirty toilet that hadn't been flushed with fecal matter on the toilet seat. Dirty wet towels in the tub. Hair in the tub. Other residue in the back of the tub. Dirty sink with dried on toothpaste and hair. Unemptied trash. Dirty carpet. Used shampoo, conditioner, and soap in tub and by sink. I called the front desk from my room and got the Kelly. Told her the condition of my room was unacceptable. She told me there was nothing she could do since the hotel was sold out. She couldn't switch me to another room. She couldn't move me to another hotel. She told me to contact Hotwire. Additionally the female housekeeper who supposedly cleaned the room left a business card saying "tips appreciated." I left the room, tossed the keys up on the counter as she turned to look at me as I walked out of the hotel. The service and condition of this hotel is deplorable. I've attached pictures for your reference. I would never return to this property again even if the stay was complimentary. Due to the poor condition of the room I had to find other lodging at a significantly higher cost since it was booked at the last minute. read more

If I could give negative stars that would be more accurate. We stayed 2 nights. The bathroom had used dirty towels hanging in the bathroom when we checked in. House keeping made our bed without sheets it was just the dirty comforter on the bed . There were smashed goldfish crackers in the bed . The last morning we were woken up by police accusing us of drug use. They said the maid found a bag of METH in our room, They needed to search our room. When we said it wasn't ours and had no idea what they were talking about. The police continued to try and get a confession out of us. Well the supposed drugs were not ours, so If there ever were any, the maid didn't do her job in the first place and didn't properly clean our room before we checked in, or they were the maids and she was trying to frame us . Either way the supposed incident was the day before. They waiting till the next morning to call, the police came and woke our baby up after I had just gotten him to sleep after a long night with him being up , and we had a long day of travel ahead of us .
