Hotel was okay but pancakes were excellent definitely outdated but it was good for one night.

I'll start with the positive - location. Negatives - the hotel is old, outdated, smells and wasn't clean. We stayed in an outdoor room, as we had a small dog, and immediately smelled dog pee when we entered the room. Why have carpet in pet rooms? Also, the toilet had human hair and a coat of dust on the tank, the shower had human hair, the toilet wouldn't stop running, there were a few flying bugs, the sink leaked onto the vanity, and if you moved the trays on the vanity- covered in dust and dog hair. If we weren't so tired and paid a non-refundable reservation we would've left. Very disappointed and to top it off, had to pay an extra $20 for a small dog that was cleaner than our room. These rooms shouldn't be listed above $65-$70. I asked for the dog deposit back for our inconvenience and was told there was nothing they could do. read more

Lamp light was broken when we got there with one adult and two children (4 and 10). Thought it was a short so removed bulb which was broken and informed the front desk when we went to get another towel (only had two for reservation of 3). Afterward went to plug in my USB charging cord to charge my phone and was electrocuted by the same night stand the lamp was on. I called to report and the phone was fried. I called on my cell phone, which they had the number for and told the front desk worker what happened and that everything was now unplugged. A man came to our door at 9:42pm, approximately 40 minutes after I had called the front desk and after kids were in bed, with a 4 year old already asleep and a woman there alone with two kids and knocked with three knocks, three different times and woke up the 4 year old. I went to the door and said "hello" to the person outside the peephole with street clothes on who finally said something about the front desk and maintenance. Between an accent and the door it was difficult to make out too much more. I never got a call from the front desk about anyone coming to look, he had no name tag let alone uniform and I was there with two kids alone in a room that opened to the outside at night. I told him we were not comfortable opening the door, repeated what I'd told the front desk and waited for him to walk away. There is a picture showing that there is no secondary lock to have even cracked the door to speak to him...not that I would've have been tempted to do that anyway with an outdoor entrance to our room with small kids- but I'm sure someone would say that, because I would too reading this. The next morning the front desk worker was in the bathroom several minutes while I talked to one of the cleaning folks while we waited for him to finish. She was friendly enough. The man finally walked out and it was the same man at the door last night. After he walked out he asked what room and I said 118 and his entire demeanor changed immediately. I asked if there was a way to get something saying what time I called last night and what was reported. I was calm and said nothing about wanting something claiming blame or anything else, just something stating I had called and what was reported and a time. His voice raised an gist was that I should've answered the door last night and not try to use the "woman card" for not answering the door and last night was the time to get things looked at. I would not get any documentation and I needed to leave. His voice remained raised the entire time and I finally ended up recording to make sure I could at least get something showing we were there. He was beyond rude. He could have said nothing and still not been an outright jerk, especially with kids there. The room was dirty, there were stains on the sheets and the wash cloths were dingy and had hairs on them. The other receptacles in the room were filled with dirt and the one responsible for shocking me was darkened showing this is not the first time this had happened. The room was definitely not worth the cost but this honest review is happening because of the actions of the male staff worker. I would not recommend this facility. There is another hotel less than half a mile away and there is no way it could be any worse. Also breakfast was juice and cold cereal by before 9am ‍. Again one or two of these things could be overlooked but the employee and everything else- looking elsewhere is strongly suggested. read more

What a mess! We stopped very late to start, so we were grateful to find the hotel after driving a long night in the pouring rain at 3 am. First, there was pubic hair in one of the beds. My children wouldn't even get in bed after seeing that. We only needed to sleep for a couple hours and wanted to knock the dust off our bodies but the bathroom was also DISGUSTING. Moldy grout and super dingy. The faucet sprayed all the way to the toilet. Breakfast was free and so was the dirt plastered on the a.c. unit next to the coffee. Be careful you dont get the dirt in your cup. We were offered a new room at a $10 discount, but with a broken t.v. I imagine a hostel in Europe for backpacking college students is far superior! The man at the desk was nice but seemed clueless or non caring, and Noone is behind the front desk unless you call the number. No good. Worst place I've ever stayed in 48 years. The room & bathroom were a little rough. Bathroom had plenty of mold, rust, and stains. If you're in a jam, it will do. Just don't look too closely at the carpet and bathroom. If your wife is a little particular, don't take her here. My wife would not stay here. Room was about $100 + about $50 in taxes. I suggest pricing motels before staying here. This place is actually disgusting. We walked in and it smelled so bad. The heater smelled like it was burning all night long. It was so loud and we all got little to no sleep. Half of the outlets didn't work and the sheets were dirty and stained. The water was grey/black There was absolutely no warm water at all. I flushed the toilet and it started flooding and soon, the whole bathroom floor was covered with toilet water. There were some really nasty stains on the ceiling and the lamp that I don't even want to think about right now. All the food is expired and the jelly tasted like literal metal. The omelets were in some kind of plastic container and they were not fresh at all. This place would be a 0/5 stars if it could go that low. This is a sign to stay at a hotel or even just stay in your car people!! read more

I have stayed in countless hotels is my life. I have never stayed anywhere this awful before. We arrived around 11pm after a full day of driving. Because we were traveling with three small children who were hours past their bedtime, we put them right to bed. That's when we discovered what appeared to be feces and possibly blood the ceiling (See pics). Both sinks had something stuck in the bowl that looked like it just needed to be scrubbed off but hadn't been in a while. There were brown splatters on multiple walls, maybe coffee? There was black mold/mildew on the bathroom walls that had been painted over instead of removed. The paint was of course peeling. The shower rod had been ripped out of the wall and was just resting on the ledge of the tile. There were obvious signs of water damage throughout the room, on the ceiling, walls, and a lamp. There were numerous spots where something white had been spilled, including on a chair. I can't bring myself to guess what it was. By the time we discovered the state of the room, our three children were fast asleep. We had nowhere else to go and the only employee we could find was unable to address the issues until morning. In the morning, it went from disgusting to bizarre. Both my husband and I spoke with a man who said he was the manager but refused to give us the owner's name "so he (the owner) wouldn't be harassed by everyone". I'm pretty confident he was the owner. We asked for a refund. He finally agreed to refund "half", not including the fees or pet deposit, something neither of us were happy about. In order to give us the refund, he required my husband to handwrite a copy of a note saying the issues had been resolved. He said so if we ever wrote a bad review, he could show proof that we thought it was a fair resolution. Of course it was not, we just wanted the refund. Then, rather than give us the refund back on our card so we could have a paper trail, he insisted on giving my husband $53 in cash, which was not even the full 50% refund. We're not confident that we won't be scammed further. While waiting for the "manger" to come to the front desk to speak with, I snapped a pic of the recent health inspection. It would appear we're not the only ones not pleased with the safety is the place. If you're traveling through Donegal, keep on going. Anywhere is better than the Days Inn here. read more

Maybe clean? In the first 15 minutes of being there, I found what i presume to be crack on the floor, a bunch of dirt and garbage under the beds, dead insects in the windowsills, male secretions and stains on the sheets/pillows, the microwave smelled GOD AWFUL, etc. If you're going to run an establishment that people want to stay at, you might want to pay your housekeepers to ACTUALLY clean. Might be the worst place I have EVER stayed in. (i want to give it no stars, but it won't let me) read more

This was a decent hotel although it's kind of far from civilization it's close(ish) to a few local attractions such as 7 Springs Ski Resort, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park, Falling Water, etc. I was put into a corner room that was handicap accessible. The room was large because of it which was awesome, however the bathroom had a window that I opened to exhaust the shower steam only to find my boyfriend peeking In it! Being that it was my boyfriend I had no issue but they need to figure out a way to deter peeping Toms from looking into that window! Other than that, i had no issues until checkout day. There was a maid lurking by our door asking my boyfriend when we were leaving - mine you, we still had over an hour before checkout time! She then sat on a bench by our door to wait & stare at him. Then a few days later I check my credit card statement to find they charged me $50! I called them & they claim there was evidence of "weed & residue" (the woman on the phone's exact words. Um... No. Neither of us do that. My boyfriend smokes cigarettes but he never smokes indoors, anywhere - unless it's at a bar. I hate the way smoke smells, he doesn't smoke in the house or car. They claim they have pictures so I requested to see them. I told them there's no way & it must have been one of their employees (probably the stalker maid) but she gave some bs reply about how they're "not allowed to smoke in the rooms" as if that's ever stopped anyone. I feel setup & stereotyped & still have not received an emails of this "proof" they claim they have. read more

Checked in this evening after a day at Seven Springs. First off the room had an off smell. I attempted to use the chain lock; however, it appeared the DEA raided the room at some point and. It was never replaced. Everything was outdated and we soon realized there was hair in our beds. Upon trying to contact the front desk we realized someone had torn the phone from the wall. Literally looked like someone punched the thing right off the wall and staff decided it was suitable to leave a broken phone. We called the front desk in an attempt to get a new room. The staff was the only positive part of our "stay". We checked two other rooms and there was hair in the beds, strange stains on the beds and broken deadbolts. This hotel is pretty cheap, especially with an AAA discount. It's next to a gas station, across from a Dairy Queen, right off the highway. Easy access to a lot of things, including Falling Water, Flight 93 Memorial, The Oak Lodge if you're there for a wedding like we were. Staff is friendly and attentive, immediately greeting you and making sure you're all set. Breakfast reminds you that Days Inns are 2 star hotels. Juice, coffee, yogurt, toast, cereal... nothing fancy. The room was clean and big enough. We had 2 bedrooms, a small closet, iron and board, bathroom, small desk and 2 chairs, etc. The pillows are SUPER fluffy, so sidesleepers beware of a neck cramp. WiFi was free, easy and had good speed. It was really all we needed for just 2 days out there. ** State upon check out that you didn't use the safe (unless you did). It's $1.50 per day charge for the convenience of a safe. ** Reminder that you're in the woods out there, so cabs are not a reliable source of transportation. Nearest one is miles and miles. They wanted $45 to take us 11 minutes up the road due to the drive time to us. We passed on that. read more

The check in guy was very nice. That's about it. The hotel is very confusing. There's like 3 buildings with different places to park and rooms that face different ways. Had to have help finding our room. Then, beds are not that great. There's enough dust in the exhaust fan to choke anyone. So on our second day, they "cleaned the room". Well only made the beds. Did not give us any shampoo or soap, or even paper cups. Just forgot. Then I go to use the microwave and POP. half the power in our room went out!! Called the front desk...waited 50 minutes.... called again..... she said she was still trying to get ahold of maintenance to fix it!! And there are no other rooms Available to move us .... they just called and said maintenance should be here in 5-10 min... that was 15 min ago ... still waiting!!!!!! Horrible customer service! And I can guarantee I'll still pay full price, they already ran my card!! We come up here every fall and I will NEVER stay here again or recommend this place!!!! Ok, have you stayed at a Days Inn before? If you were smart, you set your expectations appropriately. Let me say that the service was good, parking great, access to highway amazing, the pool is very nice, breakfast was kinda weak. For the money, the Holiday Inn across the street was 40 bucks more and NOT worth it. Happy we picked the Days Inn. Usually I stay at Holiday Inn because I have points, but i played a gamble and it worked out. read more

I had reserved a room for Presidents Day weekend using Expedia. My Grandfather unexpectedly passed away yesterday after a surgery and arrangements were made forcing me to change my weekend plans. I contacted Expedias customer service and explained my circumstances. They extended their condolences and informed me that they would need to contact the hotel in order to have a waiver approved. I was on hold for a couple minutes when the agent came back on the line and informed me that the hotel had declined my waiver. I contacted the hotel and explained my circumstances to the front desk and was told that they had spoken to a manager who elected to decline the waiver. The manager was not available to speak to myself and a number for a manager could not be provided. So on a Friday afternoon, before a holiday weekend, after the loss of a beloved family member, there was no manager on duty. I was brushed aside without so much as a "we're very sorry for your loss" and they made no attempt to compromise with me at all. So I guess my $86 was going to make or break them on one of their busier weekends of the year when 2 days out they wouldve had no problem re-booking the room. I understand that by booking through a secondary site I agreed to a nonrefundable clause but with my extenuating circumstances I thought that this Days Inn, which I've stayed in several times before, might exercise a bit more compassion and be willing to work with a former customer. I would like to update my review due to more information I have received. Days Inn Donegal finally canceled my reservation through Booking.com. I received an e-mail telling me my reservation had been canceled at no charge (see original review below for background). To the credit of the manager, he did get in touch with me after he had returned to the hotel. It took several e-mails, but we were able to amicably resolve the issue and I was eventually issued a credit to my CC for all of the charges. I asked him to please put some type of policy in place that would allow the Manager-in-Charge to approve a cancellation if he felt it was warranted, if the Full Time Manager wasn't available to make that decision. That's all I wanted. I didn't have to receive the credit immediately, as long as it showed up in my account in a reasonably timely manner. The Manager said he was reviewing making that change to prevent situations like this from ever happening again. The guy was reasonable to work with, and we have resolved things. I'm happy with the resolution. I can't really review the hotel condition, service, or amenities honestly. since I didn't stay there. But, I can tell you that if there is problem, speak with the manager. I I believe he will work with you and attempt to make things right, if it's within his power. I wouldn't hesitate to give the hotel another try, if I'm ever in need of a hotel in Donegal again. Booking.com is another matter. I believe that site is responsible for the entire problem I experienced, and won't ever use them again. ORIGINAL REVIEW I made a reservation with this hotel through Bookings.com. I made a no fee cancellation reservation that somehow got changed in to a non-cancelable reservation. I wouldn't have made a noncancelable reservation, as I knew there was a good chance my travel plans would change. Sure enough, they did. I tried to cancel via Bookings.com and they told me it was a non-cancellable and I had to contact the hotel. I did, immediately, and was told the Hotel Manager was out of the country. Of course, nobody in the office was "authorized" to allow me to cancel my reservation. I called 5 times trying to get someone in charge, and NEVER spoke to anyone with any authority. I was told the Manager would call me and they never did. I filed a dispute with my CC companym and filed a BAD review about Bookings.com. Lo and behold, several days later, an e-mail showed up saying my reservation had been cancelled at no charge. The only problem with that....they already charged my credit card the full amount. To date, they have not issued a credit to my CC. I just tried to call and talk to the manager again to find out why no credit has been issued. Guess what? He's "not in the office". He just stepped out. The person who answered said the manager "will call me back"..... read more

Tired old property. Needs a real renovation and the rooms are not clean. Found old yogurt container, spoon in drawer. Trash on floor when we walked in the first time. The bathroom is funky and the whole room is grimy. How Day's Inn allows this to stay in their network is a real concern. It's a real dump. Avoid. read more

We stopped here for the night to meet up with family. The room rate is very high for a days inn in a small town. The staff was friendly and the rooms were ok. The fridge was unplugged and after we plugged it up we saw that the plug was loose and it kept turning the fridge back off so we pretty much forgot about cold drinks in our 100 dollar room. We requested late checkout at 12 so at 11 we went outside to have a cigarette and then went to go back in our room only to find our key does not work anymore. Called and they sent someone out who pretty much just apologized but the our key was only good for 11 ( even though my aunts is still working) and pretty much just leave our door open cause he doesn't "think" anything would happen while we're carrying stuff back and forth. So while the room is nice and the staff is friendly I honestly don't believe I got my money's worth of a 100 dollar room. read more

Meh. That sums up this hotel. Check out time is 11am, however they want to discontinue the breakfast at 10am (Before even the Golden Arch's insanely early time). There's a lovely Holiday Inn Express 1 mile down the road, go there. read more
