This one has a complete JERK of a manager! When I made the reservation week ago, I requested a late checkout. That's a perk of being a Platinum Elite member. It matters to me. When I arrived, I confirmed the late checkout. No problem. At 11:46AM on the Sunday of my last day, the housekeeper knocked on the door. I told her I have a late checkout and went about my business. Moments later the manager called my room. He told me they're busy and have 49 checkouts today and that I had 5 minutes to leave my room or be charged with another day. I explained the steps I had taken and he tried to tell me that he "wasn't the person who checked [me] in". I told him that's not my problem -- that this isn't the first time I've checked into a Marriott hotel -- it's actually the third this week -- and that I'm acutely aware of and follow the process. Dejected that his bullying tactic didn't work (like they have enough housekeepers to clean 40 rooms in 2 hours), he said I could have my 2PM late checkout. What a complete jerk! I'll never return. Ever. And neither will anyone at my company. I guarantee that! About the hotel: there are 3 carts in the whole place...for 40 checkout's on a Sunday afternoon. The signage for the elevators is wrong -- at the wrong end of the hallways if you can believe it -- yet nobody has corrected it. The elevators have buttons missing -- front desk lady said it's been like that for a while "but they're not important buttons, so it still works just fine." There's no drawer in the room for utensils -- they're on a shelf in a plastic container. Bedroom 2 is so small you can't layout luggage anywhere other than on the bed or in the kitchen...and there's no folding luggage in either bedroom, which makes no sense whatsoever. The good: it's close to a mall and ballpark. The rooms were clean, albeit dated, and the table and chairs which is positioned in the middle of the kitchen, can be moved against the wall where it was supposed to be in the first place so you can plug in your computer. Avoid this place like the plague. No place is worth being bullied. And there are Marriott and other hotels within walking distance to choose from. What a jerk!

The staff was friendly. No complaints there. However the…read moreroom's cleanliness was disappointing. When we walked into the room we were overwhelmed with odor. It smelled like hot dogs or fried bologna and it did not go away. It was super strong and became nauseating. We were too tired to request a new room at 10pm and I wasnt sure there even was another one available. It was a busy weekend. The plumbing fixtures were spotty and streaked and looked like they were cleaned with dirty water. We just drank out of our water bottles. That kind of made us skeptical to use any glasses provided Did not try the breakfast so I cannot review.

Which is when we stumbled upon this little gem. The price was decent; a little higher than we would have liked and definitely higher than we expected, since to us, it seemed like we were in the middle of nowhere. The front desk staff was very accommodating and helpful. We reserved (2) rooms for (2) nights. The rooms were updated, the beds were large and both were clean. The bathroom was a good size and it too was clean. We didn't know anything about the area so the next day the staff gave us suggestions as far as dining went, and we did venture to the "speakeasy" onsite, on the bottom floor of the hotel. The atmosphere was very lively and upbeat, but that did make it hard to talk to the bartender and for them to keep our drinks filled. The first night anyway. The second night was no problem for either. Another plus was that it was open late and didn't require us stumbling in the middle of the night. The hotel had alcoholic beverages (beer and wine coolers) available for purchase in a vending machine kinda way - but from a fridge, that was kept locked and the front desk attendant had to unlock. That was really convenient and a bonus we thought. There was an issue one of our nights with a staff member that wasn't the friendliest but we tried to put it past us. Then the morning of check-out, where we already had paid extra, we were constantly nagged to get out. That really irked us because not only did we have a discrepancy with what we paid - which was disrupted, but we had paid for a late check out and felt we should've been treated a little better. It's not like it was a major city with a line of people waiting for a room. Surely we knew we had to check out but to hound us, not so customer service oriented. All in all, I would definitely stay here again, (hopefully with some kind of promotion so the room is cheaper) since it was overall clean, most of the staff was very accommodating, and it served its purposed for 4 tired travelers :)

Worst hotel ever. Do not stay here. My husband and I booked…read morea king executive suite for our anniversary and it was a disaster. The room was filthy, smelled like cabbage and had blood stains on the curtains, crusty food stains on the back of the couch, sticky drawers, etc. There is zero staff, no housekeeping after 4pm to wash sticky bathroom floors and no maintenance to reset TVs that wouldn't change off of their booting screen. Some booking sites say that there is a restaurant and bar- they are not existent. They do not have a secure parking lot even though it's key access! Our car was stolen from the lot! The lot has a dummy security camera on the corner of the building. (found this out when cops couldn't get any camera footage of the theft). All of this ruined our weekend , left us stranded and cost us more than $500 in impound fees. Save your money and your safety never stay here!

I might go so far as essay if this particular building, this particular, HIE, may very well be the nicest I've ever stayed. The staff was exceptionally helpful when I inquired on a "local" establishment to eat (Sunrise Inn, by the way, was excellent). And every evening, the snacks come out! Clean. Well lit. And support staff. Everything you want when it comes to feeling comfortable for the evening. I always rate based upon whether or not I would return: if I'm ever in the area, and I need a place to stay, this will be where I end up.

Now it's not usually my first choice I tend to stay a little further in but it's doable. The staff is so accommodating from when you check in to the complimentary breakfast served every morning. I have not had such treatment in a while at a hotel it was shocking. I will say the bathroom needs some updating as it seemed to hold in a lot of moisture. There were few places around the tile that needs some tender scrubbing care. The rooms also are not noise proof. You will here everything above you (I recommend staying on the top floor) plus everything in the hallway. Our room was by the pool and "gym" so there was heavy foot traffic. Now gym is in quotes because you're not getting a grand workout but if you want to do some cardio and some might lifting it will work. The pool space was nice! Very warm inside so be prepared if you're going to be in there. There was also a hot tub space in there too. I would stay here again when I come out to Youngstown, OH.

This hotel was clean and quiet. There were several restaurants around the hotel in walking distance. We had room 301, which was at the far end of the building. Oddly the main entrance is at 1 end of the building, most hotel is in the middleish. If you have issues walking, I suggest asking for a room closer to the elevator. Our king room was huge! It felt like there was a missed opportunity as this would have been a spacious double queen room. Bathroom was at the far end of the room, which was only a little problematic when you really have to go! LOL The coat hangar on the wall is genius for rainy days or even colder weather. The only thing that puzzled us was the lack of dresser/drawer space... Microwave in the middle, fridge on the left, what is that door on the right? We opened it and it was 3 baskets. Was this our dresser/drawer space? Odd... But since we were only staying 1 night we didn't need to use this... Pool but no hot tub, tiny gym, and 1 computer and printer in the business center. Breakfast was included and it was standard hotel fare. We would definitely stay here again, if we do another long road trip.
