I'm a Marriott Platinum Elite member. I travel a lot. I stay at a lot of Marriott hotels. Some are great, others run down. Some are well staffed, some not so well staffed. This one has a complete JERK of a manager! When I made the reservation week ago, I requested a late checkout. That's a perk of being a Platinum Elite member. It matters to me. When I arrived, I confirmed the late checkout. No problem. At 11:46AM on the Sunday of my last day, the housekeeper knocked on the door. I told her I have a late checkout and went about my business. Moments later the manager called my room. He told me they're busy and have 49 checkouts today and that I had 5 minutes to leave my room or be charged with another day. I explained the steps I had taken and he tried to tell me that he "wasn't the person who checked [me] in". I told him that's not my problem -- that this isn't the first time I've checked into a Marriott hotel -- it's actually the third this week -- and that I'm acutely aware of and follow the process. Dejected that his bullying tactic didn't work (like they have enough housekeepers to clean 40 rooms in 2 hours), he said I could have my 2PM late checkout. What a complete jerk! I'll never return. Ever. And neither will anyone at my company. I guarantee that! About the hotel: there are 3 carts in the whole place...for 40 checkout's on a Sunday afternoon. The signage for the elevators is wrong -- at the wrong end of the hallways if you can believe it -- yet nobody has corrected it. The elevators have buttons missing -- front desk lady said it's been like that for a while "but they're not important buttons, so it still works just fine." There's no drawer in the room for utensils -- they're on a shelf in a plastic container. Bedroom 2 is so small you can't layout luggage anywhere other than on the bed or in the kitchen...and there's no folding luggage in either bedroom, which makes no sense whatsoever. The good: it's close to a mall and ballpark. The rooms were clean, albeit dated, and the table and chairs which is positioned in the middle of the kitchen, can be moved against the wall where it was supposed to be in the first place so you can plug in your computer. Avoid this place like the plague. No place is worth being bullied. And there are Marriott and other hotels within walking distance to choose from. What a jerk! read more

The staff was friendly. No complaints there. However the room's cleanliness was disappointing. When we walked into the room we were overwhelmed with odor. It smelled like hot dogs or fried bologna and it did not go away. It was super strong and became nauseating. We were too tired to request a new room at 10pm and I wasnt sure there even was another one available. It was a busy weekend. The plumbing fixtures were spotty and streaked and looked like they were cleaned with dirty water. We just drank out of our water bottles. That kind of made us skeptical to use any glasses provided Did not try the breakfast so I cannot review. read more

This is a great property! I have traveled around the US and Europe, and our room ranked at the top of the places I've stayed. Clean, great layout, convenient, and friendly staff. I have familial ties to the mall, but never expected this hotel. Highly recommended if you are in the area. read more

After reading all the reviews, I was looking forward to a great experience. Unfortunately, my stay turned out much different from the ones described. The hotel staff I dealt with at check in and check out were fantastic, professional and customer focused. The room however left much to be desired. I am not sure the room I was assigned should have been made available for occupancy. My primary concern was the bathroom, specifically the exhaust system. I can't explain the cause or source but the bathroom had a very strong odor of what seemed like cigarette smoke. The smell was overpowering and noticeable as soon as you approached the bathroom door. If prior guest had smoked in the bathroom then I would hope the smell and odor was mitigated/resolved before the room was used again. Beyond that, the room was clean but haphazardly. The top of the fridge, immediately noticeable when entering the room, was dirty. The legs/base of the desk chair did not appear to have been wiped down this year. There was debris on the desk chair and around the rim of the toilet. The bathroom vent was visibly stained when looking up. There were a few other minor items that it it clear the room was cleaned in a less than thorough manner. When taken in totality it tells me the room was poorly cleaned and obviously not checked. If all these visible items appear dirty then I hate to think what the things not so visible were In fairness, I spoke with the front desk about the cigarette smell and was immediately offered another room. I am still forced to wonder why the room I was in was even used to house a hotel guest. read more

We stayed here 6 years ago when it was brand new. My inlaws live in the area and it was nice to know there was a new residence inn to stay at. Here we are 6 years later and the place is neat to hell. The cleaning staff can use some training to say the least. My 5 year old didn't want to sit on the toilet and I can't blame her. For the hotel industry to have been hit hard for a year with the lack of travel due to the pandemic, you'd think it would have left lots of down time to get caught up and get the property clean for guests. Imagine that. I guess not. Last but not least the A/C in the place isn't working correctly. We ended up having to move to another hotel. I don't recommend. read more

I want to give a huge shout out to the staff at this great hotel! My sister came into town for a week with her two grown daughters and her granddaughter and stayed here. They had the most wonderful week. Your hotel is beautiful and your staff was so kind and courteous that they just raved about it. They had a two bedroom unit with a great kitchen area and pull out couch bed. There was plenty of room to relax and wind down from our days of running around and showing them all the cool stuff to do around here and Cleveland. They girls loved the gym and the onsite laundry was great because they did laundry while working out so BONUS no dirty clothes to deal with when they got home. The whole week they had nothing but great things to say about the staff and I know we will be recommending you to all of our friends and family that come to see us! We have stayed at this hotel many times and always had a good experience. However, the last time we stayed we found a bed bug on the pull out couch in room 218. We still had to get all of our stuff together and out of there which took awhile. They said they would take care of eradicating the bugs from that room. We stayed Jan 25-26 2020. We were refunded for our stay. I am just writing this as a warning to others. We have had many other stays without an issue. read more

The Residence Inn in Niles Ohio is an impressive Hotel. The rooms are almost all suites which include large flat screenTVs, king size bed, a walk in the shower, vanity room, L shaped couch, a full kitchen with stove, sink, stainless steel appliances. There is a desk and pendant lights. This is a hotel fit for executives in my opinion. The lobby reminds me of a casino lobby in Atlantic City. And has trendy lounge vibe in the lobby with fashionable furniture and areas for intimate conversation. The gym have the typical exercise machines as well as dumbells up to 50 pounds. The pool area is one of the best I've seen in a hotel. You will be very happy with the residence inn. I stayed one night, The front staff seemed eager to help me with anything I needed. read more

She was so kind and polite that my entire family felt good after the 9 hour drive. The hotel is in a great spot and is fairly contemporary. Travel frequently and my choice is Marriott properties and this one is better than most! A+! Checked in and greeted by Sherry! Super customer focused and accommodating! Friendly, efficient and precise! Her attention to detail was fantastic! Our room was clean, and better than expected. This hotel is somewhat unusual as it is connected to a shopping mall and next to an office building... the shopping was so/so, but an interesting location. We were greeted with an evening 'mixer' which included enough for dinner and drinks with friends and family. A totally delightful Abigale was the "chef" on duty and not only stirred up an amazing salad, and cookout style event, was so ultra energetic, authentic and creative! Room and overall facility was clean and comfortable. Staff were all friendly and accommodating. So why 2 stars? Two minutes after my girlfriend started showering this morning the water cut off. It was 9:00am. Hair covered in shampoo, and no water. I called the front desk and was told there was a "scheduled water outage" until 2pm, and this had been scheduled 3 weeks ago. I didn't get to shower at all, and neither of us got to even brush our teeth. No water to flush the toilet! At 9:00am on a Monday morning, without any warning at all! ***NOT ACCEPTABLE.*** 1) I received zero warning of this when I booked the room. 2) I received zero warning of this when I checked in. 3) I received no slip of paper under the door last night warning about the outage. The only notice I saw was at the front desk WHILE CHECKING OUT just now. Access to water is a basic human need, and this hotel manager didn't think it important to give guests some heads-up. Once you find this brand-new hotel tucked in the center of a shopping mall, you will be so happy. The hotel feels more like an upscale, modern apartment complex than just a hotel. The rooms are like small loft apartments, with a kitchenette with full fridge, microwave, dishwasher, dishes, etc! You can even order a grocery run if you are staying a while. The rooms are beautiful, with very modern decor, and free wi-fi. The lobby is also very nice, with a lot of lounge areas and TVs. Even better- free hot breakfast bar every morning, and happy hour with free beer, wine, and snacks in the evening. There is no restaurant in-house, currently, but you are in the middle of a huge shopping area where chain restaurants and some other restaurants are plentiful and within walking distance. There is a small gym and pool, but I did not use them. They looked nice, however! I stayed here for a grueling work trip and it really made it a lot more bearable to stay in such a nice place. This was right on par with a five star hotel experience. The lobby was beautiful....and there was coffee and hot water/tea all day long!! The breakfast was phenomenal. That's probably worth $20-30 of your stay right there :) !!! When we entered later in the evening to check in, they were having a smores social. How creative and fun!! I love this kind of stuff!!! I hear every night Mon-Thurs there is something going on like that. Also super convenient was the location. You have everything you need right in the same parking lot surrounding you. The hotel is smack in the middle of any kind of restaurant you want (Outback, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, etc..) and it actually pretty much connects to the mall!!! Our room was clean and spacious. I was very impressed with everything!! Kitchen was a great size. Fridge was bigger than I thought it would be.. and there was even a little stove. Next time we will bring our 10 year old son and he will fit fine on the pull out couch. The employees were wonderful.. so helpful and friendly. Marrisa and Michele checked rates for me since I knew that I wanted to stay here with my family next month for Xmas. Also, I needed to leave a couple boxes/shipments that I was sending home to myself and they were happy to help. They had a handle scale to weigh our suitcases before we left. I think this is one of the cutest, best hotels we have stayed in in a long time. (We travel a lot)... Loved it so much!! Do not hesitate. Brand new done right. Spotless, roomy, no shortcuts here. Staff was über friendly and it seemed to happen naturally; everyone from reception to kitchen and housekeeping smiled and greeted us at every turn without it becoming a nuisance. Small touches like a filled candy jar in the room and a huge walk-in shower as well as unique amenities like a personal grocery shopper and evening social gatherings set this hotel apart from potential competitors. Pricing is competitive and with several discount options, the choice is a no-brainer. We have been to almost all other hotels in Niles and nothing compares. To remain competitive, others are going to have to step up their game and do some remodeling, deep cleaning, and possibly re-staffing. I doubt we will ever stay anywhere else while in the Youngstown-Warren area. read more

I travel on a weekly basis for my job, along with several other of my coworkers, and ended up staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott Youngstown Warren/Niles for several months. I cannot say enough about the staff and condition of this hotel! The staff were exceptional; they went above and beyond to make us feel at home and provide us with whatever we needed. It is so wonderful to be greeted by a smiling face, and know that someone is looking out for you when you are away from home. The housekeeping and maintenance staff do a great job keeping the establishment in tip top shape. Kudos! I highly recommend this hotel and I will not hesitate to stay there again if my travels bring me back to the area. read more

The hotel is new with modern decor. The rooms are well appointed and love the separate bedroom option. The hotel was clean, and the staff very friendly. The only down side to a fully furnished kitchen and my pots and pans that I needed to cook in had badly burned food on the bottom which was a downer. I was staying for an extended time and eating out for every single meal can get pricey. Major selling points were plenty of places around to eat at, great shopping you are in the middle of everything. I would be happy to stay here again. read more

My wife and I have high standards. Anywhere we travel around America or to another country, we expect the best. It was a true joy to find such quality at the Warren/Niles Residence Inn for us both and our small Yorkie Dog. Katie and Marissa at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful. The Manager Ryan DeCastro is always roaming around making sure every detail is working fine, and it was a BIG surprise to find OUTSTANDING service with the maids. You don't see maids that learn your name and your Pet's name every day. So big thanks to Jessica and Kathy on that front. We will be back. read more

Stayed in the 2 bedroom suite for easter, loved the room.We have made it a tradition to go to a hotel with pool for a night. 2 years ago when we stayed they had an easter egg hunt for kids but not this year, thought the easter egg hunt was awesome. Was planning on going swimming and pool was suppose to be heated but it was very cold for heated pool and jacuzzi was broke couldn't use. Was told pool was 80 degrees but felt like 70 or below so didn't get to enjoy swimming. read more

This is a nice looking hotel and the people are very friendly. The food is adequate for being free. If you are a business traveler and you want a good nights sleep you may not find it here. The quality of construction in this hotel is sub par. If someone is in the room next to you and they are snoring you will have to listen to them. If there is someone in the room above yours your will hear every footstep and anything they do in the bathroom. You will also get to hear everyone else's TV. There is no sound insulation in the walls and the floors are made of wood construction, this is not your typical Residence Inn, I have stayed in many throughout the country and this is the worst one I have stayed in as far as noise is concerned. read more

Last year we stayed here for our sons State Wrestling tournament. We had a great stay with no issues. We decided to stay here again this year as well. Love the size of the room. Fridge, small stove and dishwasher included in room. Was quite disappointed this year. Upon arrival we learn that they are completely out of shampoo. Not even a small bottle in our room. Ok.. no worries we can buy a small bottle at a local store. The next morning we go to the complementary breakfast. The waffle makers (our kids favorites) were currently not set up for use. Again.. no biggie. However, for breakfast they served sausage, eggs and pancakes and they were completely OUT of syrup. I understand things like this happen. But... there is a huge wrestling tournament in town with no occupancy available and this tournament is the same weekend every March. I personally feel like they should have been better prepared. Believe me, our family is understanding that things happen..we were just very disappointed. Not to mention no towels were available in the pool area as well. Hopefully they can pull it together and make things a little easier on their guest. read more

Traveling from NH to Chicago... This was s much needed stop!! Great customer service, nice breakfast! A mall!!! Brand new!!! Reasonably priced with an extremely comfortable bed!! The shower is gorgeous! Pool! Gym!! Great kitchen with eat at bar.. You could and should stay for more than 1 night...wish we could..
