Haircuts take around an hour, but coloring services can take over 3 hours and are hard to book. You can book haircuts kind of last minute but book coloring a month in advance if you can!

While disappointing results can sometimes happen, what bothered me most was the complete lack of communication afterward. I reached out to Masaki on May 13 regarding my concerns and attempted to resolve the issue privately. I never received a response. It has now been about a month, and despite giving plenty of time for a reply, I have been ignored. I did not immediately leave reviews or make public comments because I wanted to give him the opportunity to address the situation directly. Unfortunately, that opportunity was never taken. For $480, I expected a higher standard of work and customer service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Masaki.

And now I have to live with this until it grows out, definitely more than 6 more months. If I could give -1000 stars, I would. I was really unhappy with my hair that I went to get a hair treatment (for the dry, damaged hair) and toner at a different salon a week later. That stylist even asked "who did your hair?"

I was a bit disappointed to see that it looked nothing like the picture and it was fake rose petals which I thought was weird. I'll give them an A for effort though although it looked nothing like the picture. The massage was amazing. She did a really great job. Most of my massages are pretty rough but she did a great job with light to medium pressure. I really liked the glass of champagne and the chocolate truffles. The private soak was nice but I really enjoyed the sauna. It was definitely a great experience. Came out feeling revitalized. My boyfriend really enjoyed the massage and the amenities.

I came across this salon because I needed a blowout for work and got a great one from Oksana and have gone back numerous times. Recently she persuaded me to have a Brazilian Blowout. I was so nervous and skeptical and read all the bad reviews on line. I cannot tell you how far from the truth they were! First of all they use ONLY the natural NO formaldehyde Zero Brazilian Blowout treatment. It was so easy, no smell, no itchy eyes or anything at all. It took about 2 hours and cost $240 which is cheaper than anywhere i've heard. Oksana also trimmed my hair for an additional $25 . I have to say Oksana did an INCREDIBLE job - i feel like i have 18-year old hair - its so soft and smooth and luxurious I can hardly beleive it. She was amazing in explaining everything to me in detail and taking their time and really not "hard selling" or pushy in any way. Everyone who works there couldn't be sweeter, even Irina the lovely lady who washes your hair is so sweet and pleasant. Its not a glossy, fancy place but frankly, I received the worst hair cut of my life in one of the most expensive salons in NY and won't fall for that again. I also like the way its not showy and fussy and you can get in and out with no waiting and "checking in" and fancy hard sell of products the top salons do. I might add that I work for the top glossy fashion magazine in the world and am rather discerning. Dazzle has me as a loyal customer! would definately recommend it 100% for Brazilian Blowouts, regular blowouts and cuts! read more

If what you're looking for in a salon is amazing SERVICES, without the extra frills, Dazzle is the perfect fit. The salon is very clean and the people are attentive. I have gone to Dazzle for 10-15 blow outs (my hair is thick, long) and I always leave with great results. David is great. I've also had blow outs from Marta and Oksana, both of whom are excellent and extremely thorough. They actually really care about what you want and are determined to get that result. My hair lasts for days. As somewhat of a blow out "addict", I've been to Blow, DryBar, and now DreamDry, several times each, and my blow outs from Dazzle are consistently better and longer-lasting than the services I receive at those other salons. The stylists at Dazzle are long-time professionals, unlike the 'straight out of beauty school' stylists you will encounter at the other places. Not to mention the price - $30, which is hard to beat. David also recently highlighted my hair for the first time (ever!) and I am obsessed with the results. He listened to exactly what I wanted (something subtle) and I walked out with the sun-kissed highlights I was aiming for! My boyfriend also gets his hair cut at Dazzle regularly and is very happy with his haircuts. Next time I am due for a cut, I will definitely be getting it done here too. Thanks Dazzle! read more

I have straight stick coarse hair that I tortured for the better part of 4 decades with perms, curling irons, hot rollers all in an effort to give it some shape and style. That is until I found DAVID. I tried the salon because of the price and location--right next door to where I used I work. Wow what an experience, the precision and style he gave me ended the need for all that extra crap. I never thought I was a candidate for low maintenance, blow dry and go hair, but that's what David has done for me. My hair is the healthiest it's ever been, No other stylist has been able to do what he can for my hair -- just from a great cut! And as it grows out it just looks better! So I came in as a walk in right when they opened at 11am. I was told it would be a "few minutes" and although I checked in every 15 min or so I was told the stylist is just parking and will be right there. Long story short I waited over an hour, and while I indicated in advance I would like a wash and cut which was their walk in special, after a literally 10 min haircut (the stylist asked me what I wanted on the go as I was about to get my hair washed), she ended up drying my hair (again without asking what I wanted - and what I got was far from a "styling / blow out" just dried straight. When I was asked to pay the cost was 2x the walk in fee. Be sure to ask exactly what the price will be or you will be disappointed and don't expect a detailed cut with a lot of attention here. read more

I had a great experience at this salon! I made an appointment (though not totally necessary) with Michael and he was wonderful! He gave me a fantastic cut taking off about 3.5 inches and giving a lot of layers that I absolutely needed. He was attentive and knowledgable giving me some pointers but not ever making me feel forced to buy products or anything like that. Keep in mind ladies that this is not some high-end stuffy salon that serves you wine and talks about the latest gossip and fashion trends. This salon is mimimal, not fancy at all,but as good in service as they come. I will definitely go back and you couldn't beat the price of $50. My other salon charges $75 for the exact same thing! Very bad, bad, bad. barber David left a huge spot shorter than the rest above my right ear. blamed it on the lighting when i pointed it out. (it wasn't the lighting). just a sloppy haircut, unfinished and uneven all around, and i walked out feeling really sad. the girl washing my hair at the start was nice, though. update: same day i went to another shop to get my hair fixed, and the barber was shocked at my haircut from here. he didn't believe that someone would do such a sloppy job and brought over other barbers to look at the hair. my hair now looks nice though, so that's a huge relief, but i was set back the price of two haircuts and I'm feeling unhappy that I even paid for the first at not so dazzle barbershop salon. read more

I'm feeling not like myself because I had beautiful hair before and David ruined it. Not to mention he burned my scalp from the product that was used to remove hair dye, I didn't even realize until I went home. I went back to for him to fix what he messed up and he made things even worse! I had to chop off all my hair because of what he did to me. She always does an excellent job nailing a vibrant and long-lasting (ammonia-free) red that ALWAYS gets compliments...even as it fades and all I can see in the mirror are my roots - I'm STILL getting compliments on the color! Jada instantly impressed me from the start with her great care to detail (less dye-stains on your forehead & every little whisp of hair COVERED!) but - even better over 9 years in....I truly feel like I've found a friend! I love coming in and catching up on the myriad of topics we've covered in our lives through the years. She's a keeper - so go meet her! p.s. this is more a review for Jada specifically but the salon itself is clean and sleek (I've enjoyed the photography/art on the walls as I chill with my head in the sinks!) - and all are more than welcoming and kind inside!

My natural curls are ruined! I was looking to book with Leona for a silk press before a birthday…read moreget-away based on a referral from a friend who also has natural curls and when they told me Leona was unavailable, they offered another stylist - Shan. I figured she must know how to handle natural curls as well so I agreed to the switch. On the day of the appointment, she was over 30min late for my start time as her first appointment for the day. Luckily I was her only appointment that morning so I didn't have to deal with her juggling multiple delayed starts. She claimed traffic so I gave her the benefit of the doubt that day but if she works there regularly, I would think you would be at most 10min late. Over 30min means you overslept or something more drastic. At the end of the appointment, my hair was silky straight and I was satisfied but after a week of wearing it straight then washing it to go back to curly, ALL of my ends have heat damage. I will now have to cut off half of the length of my hair. I am beyond livid. I have gotten my hair straightened several times a year by multiple people throughout the city over the last 10 yrs and have NEVER had heat damage. I've never had to cut my hair as a result of heat damage like this. What makes it worse is, I went to another salon about 6 weeks earlier for a curly cut to optimize the shape of my wash and go at my length. Now I have to spend another fortune redoing my curly cut. I am so pissed. Yes I was happy with the press but not at this expense. Shan is a very nice person but do NOT go to her for a silk press if you have naturally curly hair. You will regret it. There is another yelp reviewer with a similar experience. I wish I had read it before this appointment.

I saw a "countdown" on Instagram to her vacation that would be around the same time as my service 3 days before my appointment. When I reached out to her inquiring about the appointment I had in place, she said that it was a last minute trip and suggested another stylist in this shop to do my hair (Shan). I've worked on my hair and it's health for nearly 7 years and now need to extensively cut it due to the advisement of this stylist switch. Even with the openness about my hesitations about someone I was unfamiliar with doing my hair, Ashley advised that the stylist she had put into place was up for the job. When I arrived for my service, Shan took forever to service me and even looked overwhelmed at the amount/thickness of hair I had on my head. The assistant was not knowledgable or up to the task for washing or blow drying my hair. I waited hours for the appointment to be completed. While I was satisfied with the service in the end (especially after asking if heat protectant, etc was being used), I did notice that my hair was a lot straighter than usual. I didn't want to think too much of it and went on about my weekend. I washed my hair two days after the service and noticed that my curls were not reverting back. I tried again on Friday in case there was just extra gel in my hair from the style I had worn for the wedding. The last minute stylist swap resulting in the damage of my hair will have lasting effects. Especially with natural clients, it is imperative that the stylist is knowledgeable about natural hair management and in this case, she was not. I have gotten my hair straightened several times across the past seven years and I have NEVER had an issue with my curls reverting back to its natural state. This isn't something I can get back overnight and I will need an extensive cut to try to restore some curls and definition I once had. While those ladies get to continue styling and slaying hair of all textures, I am now left to cut almost half of my hair. Neither one of them even bothered to apologize, which shows the lack on empathy the ladies also have for their clients. One thing I do hope is that they both take this as a learning lesson and never make this mistake again. I'm just so sorry I had to be the example used for this lesson learned. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SALON AT ALL, SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND HARD WORK ON YOUR HAIR GOING DOWN THE DRAIN.

In fact she's the ONLY…read morestylist I have returned to over and over again since my first visit to the salon two years ago. I had to write this review after my last color with Brandy - I was bleach blonde and wanted to go back to my dark brunette roots but not loose the glamourous pop of color that the blonde had given me...we ended up doing an OMBRE color (VERY VERY tricky to do right- it not as easy as DIYers people say it is. That gradual, gorgeous fading of colors is hard to get.) And MY GOD...my hair is a work of ART. Like a beautiful sunset of warm browns and golden blonde- I've lived with it for a few weeks now and I keep getting more and more compliments. Men seriously have stopped in the street and turned their heads when I have walked by...it's crazy! I work in Film-Television Production and I've even had onset hair and make-up crew members ask me about my hair...and let me tell you when I went into to see Brandy last month my hair was frazzled and funky (I was wearing scarves around my head ala Rhoda most of the time since I hadn't been able to make time to go into to see Brandy for almost 6 months and I had tried to color my hair from blonde to light brunette on my own...oh what a horror story! ). I don't know about you ladies (and gents) but all i want from my hair is 24-7 sex appeal and damn if I don't get it EVERY TIME. THANK YOU Brandy and Twigs. It's a cozy and intimate salon with an entire group of incredible women working there, no matter who you see you'll be happy- but if you want a serious artist whose canvas is your hair Brandy is the one to see. Her schedule fills up quickly but she can usually squeeze me in on Tuesdays or a late Saturday. Just call ahead to check for an opening - you won't be sorry. I think each of the stylists charges different rates and some are cash only so be sure to ask about that before you make an appointment (just so you don't stress about it later). I seriously LOVE this salon and I've been to "the best" in the City. This is the only salon I patron now for more than 2 years.
