I've been going to Salon Lexington for about 3 years now. I got 2 balayage processes done with Mustafa and they looked beautiful. He did a great job with them and I paid $400 both times for it, however both times I went to him his attitude was a little off and passive, but I didn't mind because he did a great job with the hair. I recently went to do my hair again and scheduled my appointment with Mustafa, however I scheduled "Single Process Full Head" (which was basically to dye my hair back to black). The cost for this service online was $180. When I went in to do my hair, the majority of the time he did not do much, he had one of his workers do the majority of the work which was upsetting because I specifically scheduled the appointment with him, however, I brushed it off. After the color service was complete, he had another one of his workers blow dry my hair and cut it. During this, he approached me to explain how much I would pay. This is where I became confused because he charged me $190 for the hair BUT also an extra $95. I asked him what the $95 charge was for and he said for my cut and blowdry. This was very confusing to me as I have done my hair with him twice (both being a color service) and he never charged me for a cut and blowdry, that was always part of the service. He went on to give a bunch of reasons as to why he charged an extra $95, all of which made no sense given the fact that he had never done that before for any color services I had had. I felt he was very unprofessional, he left while his worker was blow-drying my hair and never came back. I have been to him twice and he has never charged me an extra $95 when I was doing a color service for a cut and blow dry. 2 weeks had passed when I did my hair and there were a few times when I was washing my hair where my shampoo turned purple, I'm assuming that this is because they did not wash my color off correctly. I have to say I am very disappointed with my most recent experience at Salon Lexington. I did not appreciate Mustafa's attitude during this appointment I had with him, he rarely acknowledged me being there even though I specifically scheduled the appointment with him and it felt as if he was just adding additional charges that did not make sense. read more

ASIL (and the entire team) is a hair MAGICIAN!!! Over the past two years, my hair has been completely destroyed by going to various different hair colorists (as you can see in the first picture) and had many different shades of yellow, brown, and ORANGE. Everyone else I went to did a very sloppy job with the way they applied color. When Asil saw me, he was shocked and baffled. But he quickly came up with a strategy to color correct my hair without causing any damage and he brought my hair back to LIFE!!!! Bianca is absolutely amazing. Beyond talented. I have struggled trying to get my hair light for the longest time. I have dark roots and no one was able to bring me to the level i needed to be at except for Bianca. My hair was never lifted enough and my back always came out lighter than my front. My hair would turn brassy and yellow within days of me getting my hair done. No purple or blue shampoo could help me because simply my hair was not lifted enough and evenly. It has been a nightmare until I met Bianca. Someone who is not only an expert in coloring, but also cares about the integrity of your hair. Not one single sign of breakage when she colored my hair, not to mention, she patiently listened to my concerns and took her time to make sure i lifted in a healthy manner. Some people might just be done with your hair in a couple of hours because they will fry it, but my hair clearly can lift, but needed time. The time only Bianca took to make sure we got the results i wanted. She was very realistic and made me understand what was possible considering my hair was orange/yellow the first time i went to see her, so as you can see from this picture, she did an AMAZING job and I couldn't be happier. I first visited Salon Lexington and hairstylist Asil late September. A friend found him through Instagram and reached out to book a coloring session for them and a haircut for me. Asil spent most of the time cracking jokes and took quite a bit to get to me even though he'd booked me an hour after my friend but whatever I didn't mind since I figured he was timing it so we left the salon together. He gave me a dry cut as I was working towards growing out my hair to eventually do Bayalage with him once it got to my desired length and was told to come back in four months for another trim. Okay cool. Come end of Jan my friend was planning to book a touch up with him and since I was due for a trim I asked them to see if he had an availability for me that same day. He confirmed to them that he had booked us BOTH for two weeks later, Feb 6 at 12pm, before he went on a month long vacation. Fast forward to present day. I walk into Salon Lexington with my friend a few minutes before our confirmed appointments with Asil. He immediately ushers my friend to the back to apply dye and asks me to have a seat. The salon is packed and he has another client he's working on so I wait and don't think anything of the fact that he's not attending me. I'm being ushered and moved from one seat to another/ one side of the salon to the other but again, I'm not pressed, as I'm trying to be understanding of the fact that they are busy. It isn't until he's styling my friend's hair that he turns to me and tells me that he's almost done and we'll be out of there soon. At this point I'm super confused and ask him if he'll be cutting my hair after he's finished with them. He says "yes" then goes "wait are you serious?" turns to my friend and goes "did you really book her??" in such a way that we thought he was just pulling our leg as that's how MUCH he jokes around. Well apparently not. According to him 1) he forgot that he had booked me 2) he thought that I was there just to accompany my friend and 3) couldn't cut my hair because he had his other client to attend to and in his words "if you're still interested in the cut book me for another day". How completely unprofessional! First of all, what sense does it make during COVID era for you to assume nor allow a client to bring a plus one to a appointment to take up space and air in a salon for 2+ hrs. Secondly, I have a small child and live in an outer borough and contrary to his warped belief, I would not hire a babysitter and trek 1hr+ on the 6 train on a cold Saturday morning to sit for close to three hours to watch a friend get THEIR hair done. I was really looking forward to working with Salon Lexington and hairstylist Asil but today has made it very clear that he is completely unprofessional and does not value nor respect his clients. Therefore I'm on the hunt for another salon/stylist that will and WON'T make a mockery of their clients time or money. read more

I visited Salon Lexington this past weekend for a cut with Onur and could not be happier with my experience. He has been doing my hair, both cut and color, for a couple years now, and I will never trust my hair to anyone else. He is truly an expert in his craft, and I've gotten nonstop compliments on my hair since I've left it in his hands. (Important to note, I am not an easy client- a natural brunette with golden undertones who insists on platinum locks with an ashy root, and when I initially found him my hair was severely damaged after being burned off and dried out by a previous stylist.
