After having the brakes go out on my truck & have the cost of that repair earlier in the week, I was looking forward to the 4th of July holiday weekend with my kids & grandkids. Hooked up the big 5th wheel rig and headed out from Shakopee. I made it 9 miles when I heard something was very wrong. I found my way off the highway onto a backroad in Eden Prairie. I parked, checked the rig and found it was the truck's serpentine belt fraying off. I had no one to call. Feeling defeated I sat in the truck with my dog and cried. I sat there for about 20 minutes. People, trucks and cars passed by when a courier type van was passing by stopped and asked if I was ok or needed help. Told him my situation and he said that his business is on the other side of this block if you want to walk over and let's see what we can do. I walked over and he was in his office. It was then I realized this was not an employee. It was the owner himself. He ordered the part. He had his mechanic; Viktor install the new belt and make sure I was on my way. It's the things people do when no one's watching that tell you the content of their character. And even better, when they have zero to gain but have the compassion to help others shows the content of their heart. I will forever be grateful to Gus & Viktor.
