phenomenal place for Halal platters, and we ordered it here for delivery in the freshness of the plate was amazing. The meat was super juicy and flavorful and the ratio of rice to vegetables to the meat was perfect. I will definitely order here again. It's one of the best Halal places in terms of platters, I would say in DC.

I wanted somewhere to eat near the Smithsonian Zoo and this was in walking distance. You go down the stairs into the establishment. I was greeted right away by the owner/cashier/cook (all one person). It wasn't busy when I went I was the only customer. I learned most people order to go but I decided to dine in. There are a few tables and decorations but honestly it could use a face-lift to attract more people to dine in. The food is like a halal Chipotle but they have other things too like tenders, cheesesteaks. I went with the lamb over rice and was pleasantly surprised with the amount of food you get for the price. The lamb was tender and seasoned well and the rice was just right. I got it with their white sauce and dc bites sauce, the combo was perfect. I wish there were more veggies added in to give a variety but next time I'll just ask for more veggies on the side it added variety and texture.

Hahah sorry it's an empty plate, but my children loves it. It tastes so good, the meat is fresh and tender, very well seasoned and delicious.. will buy again

The best experience I've ever had at any restaurant…read more Shoutout to Derique for making sure we were taken care of and expelling his positive energy. Y'all hit that jackpot hiring that man. To Zach who moved an umbrella for us to make sure we didn't get rained on. It wasn't raining yet, and we didn't ask for it, but sure enough it started to drizzle a little while later. Finally to Dem who took an item off the bill because she could tell my Wife didn't really like it. Again, we didn't ask or say anything about it but she did it anyways. Of course the food was great, but the people were the best thing about this place.

The menu well written to impress but leaves out the important stuff which waiter has to fill in but unable to completely do so. Anyway, the non-alcoholic menu was limited. The appetizers were fine. The soup was cold (surprise), the oysters small and the fluke was decent. The I ordered the duck which was too salty, the duck leg was mushy not to my liking. The breast was ok. The trout was 1/3 cooked, which surprised one of my guests and she left it alone. The grits was on point, the mash potato was okay as well as the rest of the sides. The pasta side was meh, the collard green p*ssed off my black guests cause it didn't taste anything like what they expected. Overall, the place is well-decorated, professional looking. But the cooking was meh, the recipe was too odd (or maybe advanced) for your regular foodie to appreciate. It was not my choice and I think the person who chose it regretted. For the price you could have gone to some Michelin place. Glad I was done.

Service was fast and employees were so nice. We were there on the day of a big soccer game so it was fun everyone was cheering and watching the game on the big TV. Okay - 4 months have passed since my last review of New Dynasty so it's time for an update…read more The hot & sour soup is still the best I have ever had anywhere in the world. The egg rolls are crispy but not too oily - and they're delicious on top of that! I also had some beef and broccoli and it was super good too. The flavor was savory, strong and pure. The broccoli was crispy, the beef was moist. No thickening flavor like flour or corn starch was evident in its tasty sauce. It wasn't even too salty. Go figure! So, it's surprising that a place that looks so old and dirty can churn out such great tasting food BUT NEW DYNASTY DOES!!! I have to admit that the people at the ordering counter are pretty darn friendly too. Please do not avoid New Dynasty because of the way the outside looks. As your mama told you time and again, it is what's inside that counts. And inside New Dynasty, the food is really, really good!

There is nothing pretty or appealing about seating outside. The buffet is inside the restaurant which also makes it a bit of an inconvenience. The restaurant inside is on the smaller side and feels a bit crowded near the buffet area. They had a lot of food selections which was great, however, we were disappointed that the taste of the food did not match the great presentation of each dish. Overall the dishes were bland, lacked flavor, and were too oily. Even the mashed potatoes were bland and not tasty. Nice selection of desserts too, but again, nothing exciting, juts a typical dessert buffet selection (brownies, cupcakes, chocolate fountain..). The standout were the baklavas. The highlight of our outing was the service. Everyone was very attentive and nice.

Today I'm having what I think is probably my very last meal at Moby Dick after 17 years as a loyal…read morecustomer. And I'm hoping someone at corporate Customer Service might see this. I used to eat Moby Dick literally 4 to 6 times a week , occasionally seven days straight, so that my expenses were so high I asked my tax accountant if I could deduct anything because of Moby Dick. Today, with the food quality low and the prices at Moby Dick easily 50 60 70% higher than I remember them in 2019, I just don't see the dividend of going there anymore after today. And here in this picture attached is my angry and disappointed final moment as a customer at Moby Dick. I specifically asked for kebab kubide with kabob juicy and tomatoes Well done , with rice , so I can feed it to a toddler. I come home and the whole thing is burnt and dry. The girl apparently heard tomatoes well done, and just labeled The whole dish is going to be well done. OK innocent mistake. But It probably happens 30% of the time these days at Moby Dick no matter which branch I visit, where they make some kind of a mistake about the order. In this case, a store manager could only offer to refund me the cost of the kebab when I asked him to please "fix my problem", which was that I need some kind of a dinner for a toddler delivered to me today , because I can't step out again and purchase takeout that she will eat and I don't have time or energy to cook from scratch. I wanted him to fix the problem please by sending the replacement meal via a delivery service like Uber Eats. And he refused. And he didn't offer to pay for my cost of ordering Uber Eats with the delivery fee and the tip and such. Non-parents might think I'm overreacting, you have a right to feel that way. But if you're the parent of a 2 1/2 year-old who will only eat Moby Dick kebab and rice or beef Bolognese and absolutely nothing else, you understand my situation maybe... I knew that I was spending probably $2700 a year on Moby Dick, multiple by my 17 years in Washington , that's a whopping $46,000; less , actually , considering their food quality went down in 2020 and I don't go there as much now. Let's just call it 35,000? How much money do you have to spend at a kebab takeout kiosk to matter as a customer? Long story short, there are these epiphany moments as a customer where you have the last straw. I've felt it with Amazon, I certainly feel it with my home insurance companies and my healthcare companies, etc. There are these epiphany moments when you realize the Customer relationship is completely over. So, good bye Moby Dick. Thanks for the memories.
