    BEEF DONER PLATE

Great little spot that has really good food and where they treat their customers well. I really enjoyed our food . We had the beef doner plate and it was great

    Great falafel!

Excellent customer service, really flavorful falafel and a great Turkish tea to finish the lunch. Thank you!

Friendly service right away -- staff was welcoming and helpful, which always counts. The place itself is small, maybe around 6 tables, but cozy and casual. Good spot if you're nearby and want something quick. Food was decent, but I'll be honest -- not amazing, especially considering the high ratings. The meat was a bit dry, and the bread came out cold and not toasted, which really makes a difference for a doner or gyro. That said, flavors were okay, sauces were generous, and portions were solid. I think expectations played a role here -- I've had some incredible doner in Germany near train stations, so that sets the bar pretty high. Overall, not bad, not great. Good service, cozy space, food is fine -- 3 stars for me.

This review is just for the baklava and it slapped. It was crispy, warm, and sweet. The people working the counter were pretty nice and the place is small-mid sized. Nice way to chill out after a long night with some dessert and tea.

Capital Doner is a simple carryout joint selling doner kebabs. Friendly staff and very efficient. A simple little takeout spot with a few empty tables. But sadly as much as I wanted to like it, the diner was disappointing. The meat was dry and bland, and the sauce was lacking in flavor. The wrap was nice and fresh, but I was disappointed, especially at $20 for a wrap on its own. Over priced and under delivers.

$18 and the heat wasn't warm And it needed salt

Legit waited for 45 minutes for a wrap. This place is so slow and just ridiculous how long it takes them to even take an order. Then for them to make it is even worse. It quite take simple logic to procedural adjustments to make this flow faster. Only vibe here if you're willing to wait almost an hour for something that takes 30 servings to make. Even meat was cooked, it's not like they were waiting for it. And for $18 for a tiny wrap, it's a joke

It's a great spot to grab a late night bite. The combo is really filling and tastes good too. Very convenient location as well.

We went right before closing and they were so kind in accommodating us! The food was well made, the people were personable, and it was very well priced, especially for how much food you get!! We were able to customize our loaded fries with unlimited toppings -- 100/10 recommend!

Very cosy place! And friendly Turkish staff! If you like kebap, you can try İskender Kebap here for sure! I really enjoyed it. The presentation also very ethnic and nice! Iskender one of traditional Turkish dish! Lentil soup also Turkish traditional starter. Taste wasn't bad. But I prefer thicker. This wasn't my favorite! Nice patio! But they need better vent! Because unfortunately after I had the meal, all my clothes and hair was smell :( Yes but for Iskender I think I can take it:)

just stopped by for an authentic baklava. the staff people were quite nice and explained the difference between baklava and Kadayif. I went with the baklava. It was quite delicious, definitely sweet and nutty.

Delicious! My chicken doner wrap was flavorful and filled with veggies. I couldn't finish it so I'll be saving the other half for dinner . The staff is incredibly friendly, they even gave me a free sample of their chocolate baklava. Would definitely recommend, hope this helps!

Our server recommended some good options for us and was very thorough in making sure there was no cross-contamination with my friend's allergens. TEKMIL FAVA - 14 Incredibly delicious dip that's incredibly dill-forward. The bread that came with it was just OK, but the citrusy and herb combination was addictive. We would definitely recommend it! ZEYTİNYAĞLI ENGİNAR - 24 Not the biggest artichoke fan, but my artichoke-loving friend really enjoyed this. It was soft with the perfect texture, but not my favorite. MERCIMEK ÇORBASI - 14 This red lentil soup had a runnier consistency which was perfect. It came out hot, and topped with buttery bread crumbs that was crunchy and tasty. I love soup and would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good lentil soup. ÇÖP ŞIŞ - 23 The tomato paste/sauce was so fresh and sweet, topped with fresh herbs and lavash (type of flatbread) as the base. Definitely eat this as fresh as possible. Underneath the flatbread were five lamb skewers, which was smoky and flavorful. The combination of the savory lamb and fresh tomatoes was phenomenal. MANTI - 24 These are delicate and small beef dumplings mixed with a creamy yogurt sauce and spices. The dumpling skin was perfectly thin, and the beef was well-seasoned. The sauce was a bit much, but it complements the dumplings well in moderation. KEŞKÜL - 13 The almond pudding was addictive -- not too sweet and slightly nutty, making you want more and more of it. This was definitely our favorite dessert of the night and they were incredibly generous with the amount of almonds they give you! REVANI - 15 A bit dense, sweeter than I'd like -- this is a corn flour cake with some whipped cream and rhubarb jam on the side. Our server said this was one of the "less sweet" dessert options, so the ones we didn't order are probably a lot sweeter. Food was good, and we had a great experience! Nice ambiance, and they were quite packed on a Wednesday evening. They're also on inKind, so we were able to pay with the app and save on our meal.

We had great service from getting seated at our reservation time to getting the check in a timely manner. Our server took the time to walk us through the menu, offering recommendations and answering our questions. We shared several small plates mezze style with fresh pide (bread), all of which were delicious: Enginar Dolmasi: The blossoms were perfectly cooked, the lemon provided great acidity, the onion crunch, and the rice creaminess. Girit Ezmesi: The star dish-rich, creamy, the right amount of salt, tons of delicious cheese, amazing with the pide. Manti: Well-cooked beef dumplings, perfect dough texture, and a delicious yogurt sauce. Taze Bakla: I loved the unique texture of the fava beans, the dill provided great freshness, and the yogurt creaminess. Közlenmiş Patlıcan Salatası: The eggplant was nicely cooked and smoky, with good added flavor from the peppers and garlic. We shared the Tel Kadayif for dessert, which had great crunch, sweetness, and texture. I would highly recommend My Little Chamomile for your next date night or celebratory occasion!

It is rare for a place to stay this consistent, but it really did not disappoint. The vibe and decor are spot on, very aesthetic and stylish without feeling like it is trying too hard. Huge shoutout to the bartender as well, because he seriously knows what he is doing and gives a 10/10 experience on the drinks. As for the food, almost everything was amazing and packed with flavor. You have to get the lamb, as it was easily the star of the night. The only thing we did not love was the butterfly shrimp. The flavor was definitely good, but the portion was surprisingly small for what they charge. Everything else was fairly priced, though. Walked by storefront and decided Uyghur food sounded way better than Chipotle. PHYSICAL EXAM: Food - Two dishes sampled. The Chop Fried Noodles presented as noodles diced down to a fine, pastina-like consistency -- a preparation I had not previously encountered. Smaller than gnocchi bites. Crisp vegetables were well-integrated throughout, and the flavor profile was savory and deeply developed. Scooping more bites became borderline and compulsion. The Fried Lamb Shank was excellent. Properly fried with no excess gaminess, yet retaining full lamb character. The naan served beneath it functioned as an outstanding sponge for juice and flavor absorption, in addition to itself shining as a fragrant, comforting bread. The cuisine overall blends Middle Eastern and Chinese influences -- aromatics, warming spices, bold umami -- into something unique and hard to find outside of the few Uyghur restaurants that exist. Ambiance - Felt like a family-run establishment with a clear sense of identity -- comfortable, intentional, and built first for their own community. It was quiet during our visit at a weekday lunch hour, but the layout and menu size is conducive to large groups without issue. Easily missed storefront on a street most people are driving by to get in and out of the city. Service - Attentive. Hospitable. Friendly. ASSESSMENT: A highly functioning, underdiagnosed gem. Uyghur Eats delivers a cuisine that many diners don't have meaningful exposure to. Sampled dishes both possessed a balance of restaurant extravagance with homestyle feel. Both dishes were standouts. Broad menu requiring more frequent visits to truly taste it all. PLAN: 5 out of 5 highly recommend assessing Uyghur Eats for yourself. Follow up in 3 months - try other dishes at follow-up.

We were seated immediately and had outstanding service from start to finish. We all shared the pikilia (sampler of all five spreads), all of which were delicious with special kudos for the labne and the muhamarra. I got the Adana for my main dish, which was outstanding. The lamb was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the sumac onions provided delicious crunch and flavor, the rice was well-done, and the lavash was the perfect accompaniment for the lamb. I also got the Turkish coffee which was solid, and split the coffee cake with a friend. While the coffee cake was fine, it tasted more like a honey or spice cake instead of a coffee cake. I look forward to my next visit to Namak! July 2024: A great addition to the Adams Morgan dining scene! My friend and I recently went here for a weekend dinner and were seated immediately at our reservation time. It was extremely busy when we initially arrived; however, after an initial service snafu (which our server apologized for), we received outstanding service with our dishes coming out in a timely manner. Namak's ambiance is lovely, with blue-and-white tiling, lots of natural light, wood tables, and Greek, Turkish, and Persian decorations. Namak automatically includes a 20 percent service charge and clearly indicates this charge on their menu and receipt, which I appreciated. Namak also has plenty of vegetarian options. My friend and I split the four dishes listed below: Kuru Patlican Dolmasi: An OK dish with well-cooked rice but there was too much salt and there was minimal flavor other than the sauce (there needed to be more sauce). Ahtapot: A phenomenal dish, Michelin-star caliber in presentation and execution, and one of my five favorite dishes I have had at a restaurant this year. The octopus was prepared and grilled perfectly-the best octopus I have ever had. The carrot puree was aesthetically stunning and provided excellent sweetness and freshness, with the pickled onions adding acidity and crunch. The greens on top added further brightness and flavor to the dish. Finally, the blue tilework on the plate below capped off a beautiful array of colors for the dish. It is worth coming to Namak just for the Ahtapot-it was that good. Ispanakli Pide-Another delicious plate, with the pide excellently baked, the right amount of fresh spinach and dill, and the perfect amount of feta to complement the other ingredients. Roasted Cauliflower-While the cauliflower was perfectly cooked, it needed a bit less salt and far more tahini, za'atar, and pomegranate seeds. I would have paid $2-3 more for the dish to make it outstanding if there had been substantial tahini and pomegranate seeds at the bottom. My friend and I split the Anatolian cheesecake for dessert. While the sour cherry compote was delicious, I was disappointed that I couldn't taste the Turkish yogurt and Greek feta. I look forward to my next visit to Namak!
