Totally sold on this place! I've had BIBIBOP on the radar for some time now, especially after hearing friends rave about it so much. I finally decided to dive in on this place yesterday and it did not disappoint! THE JIST Bibibop serves different varieties of a popular Korean dish called "Bibimbap"...which means mixed rice dish. Similar to the Chipotle "have it your way fashion" you start off with selecting a base like white rice, purple wild rice, mixed lettuce in a bowl or tortilla wraps. Then you add from a large variety of fresh toppings, vegetables and proteins including grilled chicken, steak, or tofu. Additional items bean sprouts, black beans, sauteed potatoes, cucumber, shaved carrots, cheese, eggs, and corn as well. With so many toppings and the fresh, colorful array of veggies you can't help but feel like a "kid in a candy store!"...but on the healthy tip. I sure did! And, the "inner-greedy fat kid" in me chose everything they had to offer that was not an upcharge in my dish!...lol I mean everything looked so good and fresh, it was hard to pass it up and not try it all --at this location in Georgetown. THE VIBE Very, open clean eating concept and space is to best way to describe this location. The serving stations were so clean you almost did not want to have them mess up the presentation while making your bowl. I personally like this and give the a "clapping emoji" on the food prep/presentation factor. The over-sterile 80's salad bar in bins appeal, is a plus. It's certainly a thumbs up for the healthy hygiene and vegetarian freaks in the city (admittingly, including meat-eaters like myself). Nothing like a clean serving area where meats, veggies and various mix of toppings are not contaminating each other. lol THE FOOD Lots of great food options and a multitude of choices. On this day, I tried a bowl of half noodles and salad. Then I loaded it with everything this place had to offer....you name it...it was in the bowl. lol Half chicken, Half Steak, Carrots, Black Bean, Purple Rice, Red Cabbage, Eggs, Kale, & Roasted Potatoes. One word...."OUTSTANDING!!" * Note: Your bowl stacks up quick to a pile of healthy goodness.....Easily enough to share. I actually could not eat it all in one siting. And, if that is not enough, you can also select between a variety of sauces including spicy sriracha, Korean red sauce, teriyaki, and "yum yum" sauce. Also, additional sides including edamame, kimchi, and miso soup are FREE! THE VERDICT Totally like the whole vibe and concept of this place! It's fast, healthy...and packed with FLAVAH!! Bibibop easily gets 5 Stars from me! The healthy, fast-casual food scene is totally my thing. A time saving to ordering healthy food, that normally would take some time or a long wait to get at a similar restaurant. And, it is good to know there are choices out there under the same concept....other than just Chipotle. This location outdid themselves during my last visit, on the customer service and the food. I enjoyed the entire experience and the eats was delicious!! Definitely will be a repeat customer!

If you know anything about me from my reviews, I'm quite picky about my Korean food. With a name like BIBIBOP, it's a nod to bibimbap (mixed rice bowl), but enough Korean lessons for now. I thought the food was decent. If I don't think of it as Korean food, it's pretty good. It's got hints of Korean-ness like the kimchee and some things have the right flavors. My boss said that you could probably cook everything here with ingredients bought at Safeway, and he's probably right. But, there is a magic of knowing how to combine the ingredients, and they do it well here. I'm satisfied with the food here, and I'd come back. The spirit of Korean food is here and it's healthy, cheap and quick.

    Fantastic Korean inspired bowls.

Oh boy did I love this place. Imagine your favorite Chipotle and your favorite Korean spot got married and had a baby. This is it! The service is also very special. I ate at both the GT and CT locations on the same day. I thought the food was better in GT but the service at both was outstanding. If this place doesn't become the next cool chain in the USA- we will all be losing out at some amazing, reasonable, fast and tasty Asian Fusion food.

Bibibop has gained a new fan! I love any build-your-own concept and their Korean-inspired ingredients are just fantastic. I've been to both the Dupont location and the Georgetown one, and I really prefer this one. However, that's just because there is a lot more room in this one; it feels more open and the dining area isn't as crowded. In my bowl: noodles, bean sprouts, steak, daikon, cucumber, kale, and eggs topped with their famous Yum Yum sauce and sesame ginger Don't forget to stop by the condiments counter and choose to add sesame oil, soy sauce, sriracha, or sesame seeds! They even have pumping containers full of all the sauce options from behind the counter. Each ingredient is fresh, flavorful, and oh-so satisfying. Did I mention...FREE miso soup. Sign me up! My one complaint is the way their lids fit on the to-go bowls. I had mine in a bag but by the time I got home a ton of sauce had spilled out and drenched the bottom of the bag. Maybe it was a user error, but just be careful if you're taking it to-go! The staff is so incredibly nice. You're welcomed with a smile and each person seems genuinely happy while working. I will happily return to Bibibop.

It's the Korean version of Chipotle, but with better tasting food and better selection. I've gone here multiple times and the quality of service is good as well as the food. The food will fill you up for the day an then some. I highly recommend this for a great fast casual restaurant in the heart of Georgetown.

Giving this five stars not because it's the best bibimbap I've ever had but because I desperately need good lunch options in this area and want this store to stay open. This is where shophouse used to be. This new casual Asian lunch spot is a nice addition to Georgetown. The food is good and healthy (nutrition facts available online) and inexpensive (less than $10). It's definitely not "protein heavy" in anyway but I don't mind that. Right now there's free miso soup too. Toppings are unlimited except for protein which you pay extra for. If you're used to eating Korean bibimbap it's not authentically like that. There is the option of beans, it's not hot, etc. It's like Chipotle is to Mexican food as bibibop is to korean food. But if you get rid of those expectations this is a great lunch spot. There's a line during peak lunch hours but if you come even at 1230 you could find seating. Also a nice random bonus is that it actually looks really pretty. The bowls are shaped so you can see all the ingredients so it's very colorful.

Great establishment Good quality food and affordable eats for only 9$ in Georgetown for goodness sakes that actually fills you up Would definitely return for more

Simple ingredients that hit all the different textures and levels of fresh, cooked, sweet, savory, sour, and crunchy. This fast casual is so convenient and provides the customer the driver's seat in customizing their meal. Sauces can be picked up in a separate section where the napkins and utensils are located. The miso soup offering is a great addition and complements the bowl. There's plenty of seating and the employees work fast to move the line quickly. There's also the option to order online.

    Melody L.

Vibrant and tasty food at a reasonable price. Lots of exciting flavors and good free miso soup! I liked the modern design of the restaurant. I believe Bibibop bought all of the old Shophouse locations in the DMV area. It's a very similar concept (Asian fast casual) and the food is definitely worth a try.

Absolutely delicious! I ordered their Spicy Chicken supergreens bowel. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. I love how they have the sauce dispensers so that you can add however much of it you want. I'm not disappointed that I gave it a try :)

While spending the day over in Gtown we popped in here for a quick fast casual bite. We weren't disappointed. I ordered the noodles with tofu- which was delicious, it had a great flavor to it and wasn't over cooked. My boyfriend ordered the spicy Chicken- which he also recommends and said it had a "good kick". We covered the bowl with a bunch of toppings, the kimchi is a must if you like a little spice. The free miso soup was also a nice touch. Even if it was too hot for it I tried a little and it had great flavor - had tofu but I didn't see/get seaweed or greens in it. Decor is trendy and industrial - big fan. It was also clean Would definitely get again for a quick and well being meal.

Beef bowl with a cornucopia of every sauce on the side and the delicious miso soup
    Yousi F.

I love the idea of fast casual Korean and i truly loved the old Shop House, (which is what BIBIBOP was in a past life), that said the service is lovely and quality feels good. While i liked the purple rice and beef, i wish the sauces had more kick. Every sauce except for wasabi had a sweetness to it. They also have truly delicious miso soup that's free and I can imagine it being a true delight on a winters day.

Spicy Chicken Bowl with pickled cabbage, noodles, kale, egg, cheese, yum yum sauce, sesame ginger, and sriracha. Oh and cucumbers and corn

However, when we walked in and saw only a couple of tables occupied, I had a feeling it might not live up to its appearance. Unfortunately, that feeling turned out to be justified once we looked at the menu and tasted the food. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 4/5 Service - 3/5 Food - 1/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant is modern, clean, and well maintained. The dining room is attractive and comfortable, and it feels much more upscale than your average Korean restaurant. Service - Service was adequate. Nothing stood out as particularly good or bad. The staff took our order, brought out the food, and checked on us occasionally. What We Ordered - -Galbi - At over $40, this was by far the most disappointing dish of the meal. I've had galbi at countless Korean restaurants, many of which charge under $30 while delivering significantly better flavor and quality. The seasoning was noticeably different from what I'm accustomed to, and not in a good way. For the price, it felt extremely underwhelming. -Pa Jeon - Just okay. It was a standard Korean pancake that didn't stand out in any particular way. -Tofu Stew - We ordered it mild, but it was surprisingly spicy and excessively salty. The saltiness overwhelmed most of the other flavors in the dish. -Korean Fried Chicken - Unfortunately, this suffered from the same issue. The chicken itself was decent, but it was far too salty, making it difficult to enjoy. Final Thoughts - The biggest issue for me was the value. Nearly every dish felt overpriced for the quality being served, and the excessive saltiness across multiple items made the meal even more disappointing. While the restaurant looks great and has a modern atmosphere, the food simply did not justify the prices. Considering how many excellent Korean restaurants I've been to over the years, this was one of the more disappointing experiences. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.
