    Gyro Platter

The best gyros in Dc! Every time im in NW, I have to stop here & I tell everyone about it. The food is very filling, always fresh & not too expensive. The owner is super sweet. Clean space to eat indoor as well as chairs outside of the restaurant.

Very friendly and attentive service, generous portions of good food, cute place. The food was made fresh and tasted great. Good salads too - no wilted lettuce. The only problem is the smell of a cleaning solution or maybe something else that comes in whiffs when you sit inside.

I was in a crunch in a weekday evening and needed dinner pronto. I came across this establishment on UberEats and decided to give them a try. Food: i ordered the Gyro Platter which came with tons of gyro meat, a rice pilaf, a salad, and one piece of pita cut into fours. The platter also came with a small tzatziki and a salad dressing. I also ordered fries. The gyro meat was good, standard gyro meat. The rice pilaf was bland and mushy in my opinion. The salad, though the toppings were good, the lettuce was a sad iceberg. I didn't eat the rice but everything else was decently edible and enjoyable. I received a bunch of fries. A whole bag full, but they were cold. I was too hungry to warm them up in the oven before eating. 6/10 Value: the gyro platter was $21 and the fries were $7. I would say the value for the platter was pretty good because there really was a lot of meat. I wish the salad could have hand a slightly higher quality of lettuce. The value for the fries was good. I just wish they hadn't been cold. 7/10 Overall: I probably won't be back, not because the food is bad, but because it wasn't particularly good. 6.5/10

While exploring U St, I spotted a little shop on 11th called The Greek Spot and immediately knew I'd found my lunch plans for the day (I mean, who wants to cook on a rainy Saturday afternoon?) I was the only one in there when I went in, which would normally worry me, but (1) it was raining, and (2) it was like 3:00 pm, so hardly a normal meal time. I ordered the gyro pita with fries inside and then sat around for about 10 minutes while my order was made. The wait was reassuring that they were making my order fresh, and they were also playing a great playlist of songs that were top hits from approximately 2013. An incredible vibe. Got my food, went home, and even after the walk, the wrap was so good! A generous portion for the price (surprisingly affordable food for DC), the gyro was tender, the fries weren't soggy (and well worth an extra $1), and the sauce was nice and creamy to cut the density of the meat and fries.

i think this would be more of a 3.5/5 but it was overall a good spot. Ordered through grubhub and it was ready very quickly. Easy pickup. Meat was good but it was very feta forward and little to no tzatziki (at least it felt like). The tomatos/onions were not as tasty/fresh as I wanted. It was still enjoyable, and I like the vibe of the place -- off of U Street, seems like a local spot but maybe not my favorite gyro. Also ended up being a bit more expensive than I anticipated for just a basic gyro - over $16.

A hole in the wall joint with extremely high quality, fresh food! I love that everyone I come my food is made to order and so hot! Because it's so fresh, call ahead to order or make sure you have a few minutes to spare to wait for you food and then enjoy! I ordered the gyro pita and French fries. Make sure to ask for half feta cheese, half tzatziki sauce for your gyro. You can thank me later. It makes all the difference. The meat is cut thin and is extremely tender. The whole sandwich practically melts in your mouth! And the French fries!!!! Do not come here without ordering French fries!!!! They're a thick cut which I don't normally like but the way they fry and season them is absolutely everything!!! It's a new favorite lunch spot for me. Can't wait to go back soon!

I didn't want to eat at the hotel, so I checked my Yelp app and saw that there is a sandwich spot nearby. I decided to walk a few blocks and try it out. I was glad I did! It's a very unassuming place where you can sit down and have a lunch or dinner or you can get it to go. I decided to get mine to go. I was greeted by friendly cashier. She asked if it was my first time there and I said yes. She explained how the ordering process works and explained a little about each sandwich. I decided to try the RBG, which was $18. I believe all sandwiches are $18. I was a little surprised by the price, but I wanted to try it. The RBG is delicious pork sandwich with coleslaw and a soft, yet crunchy bread. Don't get me wrong. I am not a crunchy bread sandwich type of girly. But this bread was just right for this sandwich. I had the ability to eat the entire sandwich with the bread not becoming too soggy and falling apart. The pork was tender and flavorful, the slaw was crunchy and tart. It was a wonderful combination. The only negative thing that I have to say is that it is a really large sandwich! So, make sure you bring a friend to eat the other half...so you won't be tempted to eat it all like I did!

Simple and straightforward ordering process, just remember what you ordered because they don't take names. I go between the Crunchy Boi and the Marisa Tomei Eats Free, which are both great. The Crunchy Boi is probably their most popular sandwich and it's lighter than you would think considering it's filled with potato chips. I think it's worth trying once. The Marisa Tomei, on the other hand, has never failed me. It's balanced with an absurd amount of arugula against the meat, and it's never dry. The portions are generous, like you could definitely split it into two meals, but they're not so heavy that you couldn't finish a sandwich in one sitting.

The perfect flakiness and texture. I enjoyed the chicken fontina and Italian. The caprese was my least favorite--not sure if they use a balsamic or what, but the flavor wasn't coming through. Before I left, I decided to order a large chicken cheesesteak to take home for lunch the next day. It was a bit of a risk to order a hot sandwich that I would have in the fridge overnight but I heated it up in our air fryer/toaster oven for all of 10 mins and the bread was good (not soggy) and the sandwich itself was delicious. I enjoyed it so much, I didn't stop to take a photo until the last bite :) It's a decent size sandwich--I ate half for lunch (along with my own chips and veggies) and have another half for tomorrow so while it's not cheap, I think it's reasonable.
