What an unexpected TREAT! Looking for a quick food stop as we were traveling up Route 22 we spotted this food truck - with several cars parked around it. Figured we'd give it a go and were delighted to find it was Malaysian food. We had the chicken and rice (best ever chicken and rice / the flavor is rich and amazing) fried wonton - YUM with chili sauce, steamed rice dumpling (perfect) and Thai Bubble Tea - the most beautiful tea leaf flavor with tapioca pearls. Cant wait for our next trip up 22 to try more. Do yourself a flavor and treat yourself to this divine and gracious dining experience in Pawling.

Noodles with wonton and roast pork

Driving upstate, we passed pizza restaurants, burger joints aplenty but none stood out. We stopped in Pawling as it was the last bigger town on the way up to winter sports. After being uninspired with some of the choices in town, this place popped up on google maps... Malaysian food by the highway in upstate New York?!?! We hightailed it over here. After looking at the menu, we decided on the stir fried noodles with roast pork and wontons and the beef rendang. The hainan chicken looked quite tempting but we didn't want to over order (nb: in retrospect, I wish we had over ordered). We decided to try the food before driving off, while it was hot and fresh. Huge portions - already obvious from the weight of the bag. The rendang was amazingly flavorful, not the usual few pieces of dry rendang that a lot of places serve- of course, this leaned more towards a "wet" rendang but the curry had tons of herbs and wonderful seasonings - probably the best rendang I've had, though stylistically some may prefer the dry, more jerky-like rendang. Lots of good cumin and peppercorn flavor. Meanwhile, my kids were wolfing down the noodles as though they hadn't eaten in days. "One more bite before we drive off please!" I heard probably five times. Really nice flavor on the noodles and studded with what seemed like homemade char siu roast pork. Wow- how does he do this in a tiny trailer? Have been to many of the southeast Asian places in the city - Laut, Taste Good, papparich, the Indonesian places in elmhurst, curry house in Chinatown - this place could stand out among these as one of the best - and he is serving food from a truck off the highway in upstate New York???? I thought I had seen it all - this will be a meal I'll be thinking about for a long time and will be hankering for until next time we make the drive upstate. I will absolutely go out of my way to drive by here. Please support him and keep this awesome food truck open! It says Wed-Sun 11am-7pm as of now. I will be secretly hoping he finds his way down to NYC!

Section hiked the AT here. Had saw on the map there was a Malaysian spot but didn't know it was a cart. Just made it by closing. Got the honey roast pork. It was really good. Wish I could've tried one of the noodle dishes but he had already started cleaning up when we got there. Definitely a great spot for some hot food after a cold hike

Great friendly man, huge portions, lots of meat served with authentic Malaysian spices. The Malaysian iced coffee is amazing, imported too!

Originally from Portland, Maine, the cousins later settled in Southern California. Impressed with the Los Angeles food truck industry, they decided to start selling Maine lobster in the L.A. area. Lobster was typically viewed as a pricey delicacy, only served in precious portions at fancy restaurants. The cousins saved up enough money to buy a food truck. East Coast transplants raved about the authenticity, freshness and the copious amount of meat in the lobster rolls. Their success really took off after they were featured on an episode of the TV series "Shark Tank". The brand expanded, more food trucks were bought, and the first brick & mortar location opened in West Hollywood in 2015. As of 2025, the chain has 60 food trucks and four restaurants throughout 27 states as well as Washington, D.C. I recently sampled some of Cousins Maine's delicious lobster when I saw one of their trucks at a local brewery. The "Greater Connecticut" truck travels all across Connecticut to stop at breweries, wineries, and various markets and festivals. Although I had seen the Connecticut truck on the road many times, this was my first time ordering from them. The menu consists of items made from Maine lobsters, such as Maine Lobster Rolls, Connecticut Lobster Rolls, lobster quesadillas, lobster tacos, lobster grilled cheese, lobster bisque, as well as New England Clam Chowder. After looking over the menu, I decided to order some "Lobster Tots" (tater tots served with warmed Maine lobster, cilantro lime sauce, pico de gallo). They were simply divine and paired well with the beers that I was having at the brewery. I give Cousins Maine Lobster my seal of approval and I hope to see one of their trucks again!

I ordered a lobster roll that was pretty good not a lot of lobster on the roll. I ordered lobster and Tara tots that was okay. Food pricy for such small portions I'm aware that's it's seafood. I was standing outside waiting my turn so the fresh air was great and the trees blowing and talking to people while standing on that horrendous line to try samples. Will not do that again
