I needed to pickup a couple of items for a birthday and I also wanted to stop in to check out their latest inventory. This dd's discount location is a bit of a hit or miss experience. Sometimes they have a lot of great new merchandise and it's easy to navigate to find what you need. Most time there are a lot of issues with cluttered items in different areas and not organized well to shop easily. I found this visit to be the latter, where there were not enough organized items of merchandise stocked well so it was all in different places of the store. For example, I found about 4 brand new, unopened candles in the bathroom accessories area, instead of the candle area. Also, I found a stack of 6-8 beautiful framed wall art boxes in the ladies bra area, someone just left them there, on the floor. I was able to find a couple of nice housewares items in the correct space, and they were in good shape for purchase; so I went for it. If they had more employees to organize and restock their inventory, they would be a much more successful store. I would shop here more. Also, the socks area is a hot mess dot com. I found so many things that don't belong in this area here, and it was ridiculous. I want to like this store, but I always get disappointed more than happy after shopping here. read more

Have always liked this location and the quality of name brands sold at this store. I mean who doesn't like getting name brand clothing for a discount!! The downfall, inventory is random and if you find something you like it is best to make the purchase right then and there. Chances of you coming back and it being there are slim to none. During quarantine this place was empty... it seems inventory is still not pre-COVID status but still able to find some really good deals. If you've never been to DD's before, picture a Ross store with cheaper stuff and also cheaper quality LOL It almost looks identical to Ross but a lot of their stuff is mostly unknown brands. You know how Ross will at least have recognizable brands like their shoes will be Nike, Steve Madden etc., here at DD's their brands will be similar to the non-brand stuff the boutiques sell at Plaza Bonita. It's not completely terrible if you're looking for cheap deals like a white elephant gift LOL. They had some clothes that were kinda cute but the quality wasn't that great so I didn't ending up buying any. They do however have a bunch of brand toys for cheap. I remember going to the Norcal location a couple of years ago and a lot of toy brands like Barbie and Hot Wheels were super cheap under $5, great place if you're donating to a toy drive for Christmas and you want your money to go far. read more

I'm going to have to take away a star. My daughter and I were shopping and my daughter needed to use the restroom. When I asked the lady in the back that my daughter needed to use the restroom, she said no. Every store, well majority of stores have restrooms even Ross. I was a little upset at the lady. I walked away with my daughter to the restaurant that we had eaten at, Casa De Oro, and they let us use the restrooms there since we just had eaten there. I have never went into a store and not found a restroom. I had my 6 year old daughter with me. I'm thinking twice about the employees that work here. No one had a smile on their face as if these ladies were unhappy working here. I definitely didn't like that! At least the security guy seemed a little more nice than the ladies here. Clean organized store that does remind me hardcore of Ross Dress for Less. Very good deals saw lots of good prices. Quality as always have to search for the good things. Structured exactly like Ross. Not to many people despite the fact that it is almost Christmas. Lots of parking- rest of the shopping strip area is kind of dead with low amounts of people. This location is the former home of Staples on Sweetwater Road. It's a very large store, and being a newly opened one, is quite well stocked. The discounts are deep, and the inventory is plentiful. The store is extremely well organized and very well lit, unlike Staples, which had wasted space and marginal lighting. I worked for dds/ Ross in the past and they are really good at disappointing, they're lucky i have to give them at least 1 star! I was told I could work part time 5:45-1:45 pm and my original hiring manager went on deployment, I was left with a team that was unfit and I was left to drown essentially. 1 week after starting my schedule got cut yo no more than 8 hrs per work week , later on that dropped to 3.5 hours per work week. I have put my two weeks in and my last day was scheduled to be the 05/15 I am yet to receive my final paycheck , I called management and they told me I was called by 2 managers I have no record of either calls no voicemail , managers constantly showed up late when I was opening pushing back my start time because of their lack of time management. I love DD's. I come here to buy fashionable, unique, and on trend clothing. The prices of many of the items sometimes are unbelievable, they are so inexpensive. I mainly buy women and men's tops, dresses, and houseware items. If I am wearing something cute, 9 times out of 10 I've gotten it from DD's. People are constantly complementing my clothing and I always tell them instantly that I got it at DD's. It is best to shop this location on a Wednesday or Thursday for best selection, neatness, and less people shopping. Out of all the local DD's, this is probably my favorite location. It is always well stocked and clean. The employees are always very friendly and helpful. I normally have my receipt when I do a return and I do them within the 30 days, so I've never had any problems doing returns. I always have a return handy to get in the return line and beat the longer just purchasing line. The issue with the bathroom can make things challenging, but I just try my best to plan around it. Then I walk back to the store where my kids are waiting to pay and the rent a cop tells me I can't come in with food. Wtf.. I had to buy something cause they had no bathroom. They need to be nicer to customers when at the check out stand. Example: I'm Checking out my items and after I pay, just before I put my wallet away I have the next customer next to me. I called the National City store looking for a dog grooming kit hoping they would have one at this location. Unfortunately they did not. Regardless the employee that answered the phone was so nice & so helpful it took me by surprise. Raven was not only professional but very was very courteous. This store reminds me of Fallas but a lil better in terms of variety. Low quality brands for the family that is on a budget. Prices are competitive and I'm able to find nice stuff depending on the days I go. Lines can get long and customer service is average. read more

PROBLEM #1: ONLY 2 DRESSING ROOMS FOR MEN! 5 rooms for women! I had to wait 15 minutes before a room was free to try on clothes! I've never heard of a store that big having only 2 dressing room. Also, it's unfair that there are more rooms for women. I've never seem anything like this. PROBLEM #2: I had to wait 20 MINUTES IN THE FRONT CHECKOUT LINE to pay for my items! Only 2 cashiers at the front checkout counters. Even worse is the return line is separate from the main line and the cashier just says "next in line". She didn't ask if the other person had a return so there was confusion as to who was next. A manager FINALLY opened a 3rd register to start ringing up other customers AFTER 20 minutes. Unacceptable for a store that's owned by the same company that owns Ross and TJ Maxx. This location has barely been open for one week and there are already major problems and turn-offs. My visit was on 10-6-15 at approximately 2pm. If the waits are that long at that time of day when most people are at work, I can only imagine it's even worse after the 9-5 working people are shopping. Never again! read more

Good location. Like the prices, good selection, terrible cashiers. I find it rude for the cashier to start calling her next customer not only when I'm still there but when I'm not even done paying.
