Today I found sleepwear that I wanted to purchase, but it didn't have a price tag. I also found one left sandal in my size, but I was unable to locate the matching right side. Blanca was working the register and she called the shoe dept to see if they could locate it; unfortunately, that person was on break. Blanca asked the manager if it was okay for her to go look for it. Blanca went above and beyond by taking it upon herself to try to find it. She also had to take the time to make a price tag for the sleepwear since it was missing. I felt bad for Blanca because I know how busy that store is. She actually thanked me for waiting. I told Blanca how much I really appreciated her taking the time to personally look for the sandal and to make the tag. That's what I call exceptional customer service! What I do know is when returning and purchasing items at a Ross store it's no different than that of a TJ Maxx. It's all one line. My experience today at TJ Maxx in San Ysidro was unfavorable. I thought to myself, I should just stay in line since I'm already half way down. I recall seeing approximately 20 plus customers ahead of me while more were piling up behind me. It felt like 15 to 20 minutes had passed until I arrived at a register. The transaction went well and received my refund in no time. The register lines at TJ Maxx was definitely worse than Ross. They were very slow. Staff at register was friendly though. There were various registers open, of course, all busy. There was one security guard posted at the entrance area and overall store looked ok. From a quick glance at the entire store, the store did not organized or neat. read more

I recently visited this location for the first time while in the area for a funeral. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We drove all the way from Orange County, and since we weren't familiar with the area, my friend really needed to use the restroom before closing. We even decided to make a purchase to ensure we could use the facilities. but an employee refused, stating the store was closing. When my friend explained it would be quick, the employee became visibly frustrated and continued to deny access which felt unprofessional and unnecessary. At this point, we didn't even know whether we should go through with our purchase because of how awkward and unwelcome we felt. We didn't want to leave the items in a random spot and add more work to their load, so we felt pressured to complete the purchase despite our discomfort. When I moved to the checkout area, another employee rushed me, even though there were still customers ahead of me and no registers were yet available. Which added to the stress of the experience. While I was completing my purchase, my friend stood off to the side to wait for me. An employee approached her and said that if she wasn't going to buy anything, she needed to leave. Even after my friend explained she was just waiting for me, they continued to insist that she either get in line to buy something or exit the store. This made the situation even more uncomfortable and unwelcoming. At the register, the cashier spoke to me in Spanish. While I understand we are near the border, I was uncomfortable with the assumption, as I had not initiated the conversation in Spanish. Even after I responded in English, the cashier continued in Spanish. I believe customer interactions should prioritize clear and professional communication, and assuming a customer's preferred language without asking can lead to misunderstandings. Overall, our visit left us feeling unwelcome and undervalued as customers. I hope management takes this feedback into consideration to improve the overall customer experience moving forward and provides additional training to ensure all customers feel valued and respected. I do not plan to return to this location and will be reaching out to corporate to share my experience. read more

I honestly love shopping here, it's only a couple blocks from my house so I always take a walk and go through the stores of Las America. The store can be busy at times, ESPECIALLY during the holidays, the register line will wrap around the inside of the store, this isn't because of a lack of cashiers because they will have every register open (I believe 9 of them) but a serious influx of customers that have accrued over the last few weeks leading up to Christmas. The selection is very plentiful, it's hard to go in there and not find something you could want/need. However, it does feel like everything is a bit jumbled, just like every other TJ Maxx/ sister company. At times you really have to check prices though because it won't always be a deal. At the end of the day, it's a great store to kill time in and has very friendly staff. I will always enjoy coming here. read more

My sister and I came here yesterday to get her new pajamas. The female cashier we encountered was rude. Girl, you're not even cute and with that stick up your butt attitude? Lord. We were at TJ Maxx today, I had 4 baby clothing items and went to the Jewlery counter to purchase a $60 necklace that I had also found. The lady at the Jewlery counter told me I couldn't check out the baby items with her and pointed me to the regular line which was without exaggeration about 40 people long and only had 3 registers open. I asked to please speak to a manager to make a small exception to purchase my necklace and the 4 items that I had and she said NO, not because it wasn't possible but because she wasn't willing to do it. I didn't catch her name but she had white hair and an attitude with zero customer service etiquette. Such a bummer of an experience and we will not be returning nor recommending this place. read more

Okay TJ Maxx! I am giving you another star for having more high end makeup. I was browsing around and I found a Becca eyeshadow palette for $12.99! Not bad. It was in one of those locked boxes which is great because people just swatch items and that is just disgusting. I also needed white socks because I got a new pair of white shoes. My daughter scored a unicorn shorts for $4.50 and it had no tags on them. Sold! Wow! I was actually amazed at how much items they had at this location. The only negative was the line! They need more cashiers to work here. Other than that, I was pleased with my purchases! I will be back to check out more! read more

When I got home I realized that the cashier had forgotten to put an item I purchased in the bag. I immediately called the store and they said to come back the next day. I was told they would put the item aside and if it was put back I would get a refund. When I went back the next day they told me that I had to go back when loss prevention employees where available because they had to review the cameras. I asked when they would be available and they couldn't tell me when. I asked them to call me when they were there. This incident happened in early December, I am still waiting for a call. read more

I was so excited for this store to open! I will say that it's not my favorite TJ Maxx though, I'll still be returning though. Depending on what you typically like to shop for, this store may be your fave. I found their shoe and purse selection to be a bit weak. They have a pretty good selection of baby stuff and was able to get tons of great gifts to combine for a friend's a baby shower gift for under $30. Someone at the shower even later.asked where I shopped because I had gotten so much. Rude! lol. I'm glad that I was able to be a blessing and give a nice gift while staying within budget. So, let me tell you why I give this horrible place one star... So after my boyfriend and I got back from vacation, we went to go find some socks. We had about 10 pairs of socks ready to purchase. The store manager came up to my boyfriend(who is an African American) and I and asked "hey, were you in my store two days ago?" My boyfriend replied "um no.. why?" To which the GM replied.. "well, I just wanted to ask what happened in my store the other day... I saw the camera footage and I know what I saw, so what happened?" Tucked towards the back of Las Americas Outlet. Fairly easy parking. I've been keeping an eye out for a pair of rustic, mid century night stands, but with little success to find in the same store. Per the staff I spoke to, they don't keep inventory of all the stores to try to track down specific items; however they do have a 30 day return policy. I found the perfect night stand in good condition and luckily found another one in similar condition at the same price at the Mission Valley Marshalls! Score! read more

This place seems pretty good at first but people are all over the place and things are poorly organized. Found a set for my baby that was marked a great price and waited in a loooong line. The cashier who "just works here" said it was not marked right and wouldn't sell it to me for that price. Even though "she just work[s] here." Couldn't believe no one would honor the price. I was amazed on how clean and nice this place was. Just a few steps away literally next door. Ross unkept, rude customers and utterly straight up ghetto dirty. TJ Maxx is my go to F Ross never again. Anyways that was my beef lol. I was on a mission to get my daughter basketball shorts. No luck at Ross. Came here low and behold found a good deal. I was shopping in TJ Maxx at the border. There was a female customer approximately in her 40's accompanied by a young female and an unleashed dog . The dog did not appear to be a service dog. I politely informed them that their dog needed to be on a leash. I was ignored and the young female continued to run around in the store chasing her dog. I approached a sales lady and informed her of my observation and concern. Apparently, she did not attend to the matter as the dog remained unleashed throughout my shopping there. I spent over an hour in the store. The management and staff at this particular store appear to lack good customer service skills. read more

I love coming here. They have name brand items for less. Things from anthropologie to American eagle. So many cool things to buy at great prices. Finding cute little home items for decoration is the great place to find them. Prices might be higher than ross but it's the quality that lasts forever. read more
