Just imagine a Ross and this is basically equivalent of it but with less known brand The store has decent prices on certain products and has a lot of items to offer. It's not up to date but it works for them The staff are friendly but if there are busy then you might have to wait a while. There a security guard working the front too and he'll greet everyone who walks inside. I stayed mostly in the men's and luggage area. read more

Plenty of house items, toys, travel accessories, and some electronics for your phone. They have very unbeatable prices. Hello I went to buy some stuff yesterday and the cashier who helped me was sooo rude since the beginning i had not talked to her yet but from the start you can tell she was rude. The way she was grabbing my stuff harshly with attitude. I dont remember her name but She is a short , big lady . I asked her "what did i do to you to be so mean and she replied "i am not mean". I had glass stuff which needs to be put properly with sheets in a bag and she didnt do that. I nicely asked her can you wrap them in a sheet she said "no we dont have sheets" then i asked okay please put them in a bag separately so they dont break she said "do it yourself" and gave me the bags to put them separately in. Then i asked where is your manager, she was right next to her and said "im the manager" i said can you see she is being mean to me and the worker said "i am not being mean" the manager didnt do anything or say anything to help even she just ignored. As she was done i was packing the bags i was still at the register and she screamed "next" i said hold on im still here just wait until i remove my stiff she said "no i cant wait thats store policy" Very rude employee. I dont usually like to do reviews i dont like to hurt the employees with reviews but if you dont like to work and are not happy with your job dont work. dd's doesnt deserve this but its the employees who make people come give bad reviews I had to put 1 star because i dont have a choice but the employees there deserve 0 stars they are just so rude. read more

Awesome store for great deals! Minus the 10,000000 people in line and the mess! If you have sometime just go in and your going to have a blast and pick up some great affordable stuff. Yes, being the sister store of Ross they have very similar items but, seems this place is just a tad bit cheaper. I visited the San Fernando store (#5032) on 12/21/14 to do some last minute Christmas shopping. It was difficult to find certain merchandise I was looking for, since many of the merchandise were scattered on the floor, throughout out the store. After finally locating the items I was interested in purchasing, I proceeded to stand and wait in the long lines to check out. I waited over 20 minutes before I finally reached the register. When I was finally called by the cashier (Jacklyn) to approach the register, even though she had not fully completed the transaction with the previous customer. I noticed that this has been the practice at many of the DD's Discount retail store...to call the next customer even before fully completing the transaction with the previous customer. I don't particularly find this procedure to be appropriate, nor do I feel that it allows their Sales team to provide the attention and great customer service the customer deserves. When the cashier finally finished the transaction with the previous customer, she began scanning my items, without even acknowledging me with a greeting. During my translation, Jacklyn began to have difficulty scanning my last item (3pk Terry Bib). Although the said item was clearly priced with a SKU tag and price ($3.99), she could not get the machine to read the barcode. She proceeded to manually look up the item, and selected a bib that was priced at $4.99. I immediately informed her that the item price she just imputed did not match what my item was priced at. She responded to me in a condescending voice, that she knew that she imputed the wrong price and that she was in the process of deleting it. She repeated the same step, and again entered the exact same incorrect price of $4.99. Before I even said anything, she immediately stated in the same condescending tone, that she is deleting it. She then proceeded to instruct me, the customer, to "...go get me another one, so I can scan it!" I didn't realize that it was my job and responsibility as a customer, to fetch merchandise for her. I informed her that there was no other similar merchandise, and that if there was I would have purchased an additional 4 more bib-packs. Jacklyn, then proceeded to state that she was not able to scan the barcode, and that if I wanted the item, she would have to charge me the previous price ($4.99) she was able to locate on the computer. I informed her that this was unacceptable, and that if she did not know how to manually override the system, to indicate the correct price, to contact the Manager on duty. She ignored my request to contact the manager on duty, and proceeded to scan the said items several times, until she was finally successful. As I proceeded to make my payment for the merchandise I was purchasing, I informed Jacklyn that I did not appreciate the customer service I received from her and that she needed to strive to improve her attitude and demeanor to better serve other patrons. Jacklyn responded, to me in the same condescending tone, by stating the following: "You think so? Oh well! Next!" She called the next customer over as I was in the process of signing my receipt on the credit card machine and stated for me to grab my receipt when it comes out of the machine. The whole check out transaction took over 8 minutes to complete because she refused to ask for help. Not only did I have to wait over 20 minutes in line to checkout, she added an additional and unnecessary 8 minutes of wait time, causing frustration and disappointment not only to me, but to the other customers waiting in line to check out. I am so disappointed that this is the type of Sales Representative their company employs...someone who does not value providing great customer service to your customers. read more

I always find something I like and can use. It can be messy but if you go during the week, it's faster to look through the racks and to check-out. Most shirts are 3.99-9.99, work pants are 5.99-9.99, dresses are 9.99-15.99.....you get it. It's inexpensive. Becareful though...some things do have minor imperfections. I've taken out my sewing kit to patch up some holy shirts but 2 out of a 30 ain't bad. read more

I really like this store, super inexpensive clothing - I'm a slip on a sporty dress T shirt leggings jeans type woman so therefore it's easy to go in throw what I need in a cart without trying items on out the door w 15 items approx for about $100. Super cute T shirts they do the job, lots of inventory I think I've been here about 2 or 3 weeks in a row and saw same items on racks but I'm not sure if I missed the new stock days. I love this store just for the fact it is so cheap!!! The store is extremely messy there's stuff thrown everywhere and things all over the floor. Each time I have went they only have two registers open and the lines are long. No customer service when your shopping through the store at all so if you need help looking for something good luck your on your own. Like I said in the beginning though I love this store and shop here just for the prices I did all my sons school shopping here he got two nice shoes, 9 pants, and 14 shirts for 120 dollars cant beat that!!! My first complaint is that this store does not have a bathroom for shoppers to use. So pregnant women be warned!! Is this some sort of illegal thing!??? I'll find out!!! So I was here a couple of days ago on a Thursday afternoon just killing some time with my dad to see what they got. To start things off the store is a big mess. Merchandise & clothes kinda scattered around. Almost like going on a treasure hunt if your looking for something in particular. I'm not saying the entire store is just some parts of the store are messy. This store reminds me of shopping at Ross or Marshall's without the screaming kids running around. I ended up finding a Michael Jordan gym bag and a money t-shirt which was pretty cool. My dad bought some casual shoes and a rabbit tv plug in for the computer. The lines are pretty long any day of the week you walk in but it's worth it because this store is a great bargain if you don't have a lot of money to spend at other retail stores. It would be nice if people put back the merchandise they were looking at instead of randomly throwing it somewhere. Also I advise the employee's there to keep the store more organized. Never in my life have I seen lines, or lack of employees, like I have here (other than Black Friday, of course). I've been here twice and both times the line has been ridiculous. Today, a Sunday, there is roughly 20 people in line and TWO cashiers (Line literally extends to the back of the store, by children's shoes, and has curved around going back towards the front). However, there are THREE security guards, as well as TWO additional employees putting "go backs" away. VERY poorly managed and it makes me wonder how many sales they loose out on because of this. read more

I am a avid shopper of dd's discounts I have visited the dd's discounts on Crenshaw and Imperial in Inglewood CA, West Rosecrans in Gardena CA, Hawthorne blvd in Hawthorne CA, and the dd's on Shermanway in Woodland Hills CA, I never experience such bad service until I visited the dd's in San Fernando CA, on Rinaldi street, my purchased came up to $71.12 I paid with a $100.00 bill the cashier gave me $21.00 back in change which I should have received $28.88 in Change I didn't realize my change was incorrect until I drove away once I reached my destination I called the store spoke with the store manager by the name of Anthony I explained what happened and asked can he check the register to see if it was over by $7.00 he told me to call back in 30 minutes which I did he said he checked and the register was neither over or under and there was nothing that he can do for me, I do take full blame for not checking my receipt before leaving the store but as the store manager he could have been a little more compassionate especially in this economy $7.00 is hard to come by, store manager Anthony needs training in his customer service skills. read more

It can get very crowded, so finding the right time is important. I usually go during regular work hours and its pretty empty. The stuff is very inexpensive. Sometimes you find a lot of good stuff and sometimes you find nothing. It's a great place for purses, undies, basic tops, maxi skirts, and shorts. They also have a ton of good baby clothes, accessories, and supplies for cheap. The two stores next door to it is also worth a visit. read more

Purchased a non stick frying pan which turned out to be very sticky so I decided to take it back with my receipt. For some reason the associate had a problem processing the return. A manager comes to the register and tells me that I did not purchase the item in the store. Odd thing to say when I have the receipt.
