    Red deer

De Baca is an upscale steakhouse. There is a huge selection of wine and other spirits. Our server was extremely well versed in all adult beverages along providing suggestions with the vast options. The digital menu was perfect for viewing all the menu items (no needing a flashlight to view the menu lol). We ended up with the red deer as our appetite wasn't that great from too many holiday meals prior. The red deer was absolutely delicious (medium rare) and more on the lighter side. Presentation was superb. Flavor and tenderness are unrivaled from anywhere else I've been in recent time. When I return, I'd definitely love to try some of the steak options. I'd imagine it to be just as delicious. Also the staff was kind enough to put on the football game at the bar. Thanks!

Decided to venture out from our usual haunts and take the one hour trip from the Woodlands to College Station. De Baca is everything you would expect in an upscale Steak restaurant. Service and food were exceptional, as was the decor. Warm, inviting, perfect spot for a date night, anniversary or venue to celebrate that special event. Loved that the manager came over to visit with us for a bit and explain what sets De Baca apart from the rest. Worth the drive and a must try!

De Baca's Chef Jeff does food very well! Jason, our waiter, was very good. The table where we were sat was less than great; next to patio door. The meal was 5 stars! The service was 5 stars! Caveat, the website's menu is not the same as the restaurant's iPad menu. When it gets full, it gets LOUD!

Service was fantastic- Grace was awesome! Atmosphere and ambiance was also amazing. Food: Tuna appetizer was not good, they cut the tuna super thick which made it have a weird chewy texture, could barely eat it. Ponzu sauce on top was good but the cut and flavor of the tuna was bad, by the pictures of it it was definitely prepared wrong. For $30 we got 5 hunks of fish but wasn't worth $10 imo. Beef tartare was delicious, would recommend. Butternut squash soup is a must, very good! We had the Chateaubriand for an entree and it was great, good filet with decent mash and sauce. The à la cart filet was also good, may have even preferred it. Brussels as a side was one of the best items we had. Dessert: Bread pudding was delicious 8/10, chocolate mouse cake was good, 7/10 it's soooo rich almost a bit dry but still good. Drinks: Absolutely superb limoncello martini, all others were great as well. Overall great, would come back. Want to try a few more things. Was priced similar to other restaurants of the same caliber, no complaints there.

We celebrated our 26th anniversary here and was so glad we did. Thalia, along with the entire staff made sure our evening was memorable and special. When we arrived, there was a Happy Anniversary note on the table, surrounded in red rose petals. Such a wonderful, personal touch. We ordered the charcuterie board and it was FANTASTIC! We will definitely be back. Thank you to Thalia for making our anniversary one we will remember for a long time.

Wow wow wow!! If i could give 10000 stars I would!! Where do I even start? The service was out of this world. Our waitress, I believe her name was Talia, was absolutely amazing. She was so attentive and knowledgeable and she made us feel like close friends by the end of our meal! Chef Patrick and the manager came to check in on our meals and they were both so amazing! The food?!? the best meal I've ever had in my LIFE!!! I will be back!!! The overall ambience of the place was so beautiful and relaxed and I love that we did not feel rushed during our meal. I'm so blown away by the quality of our experience, they deserve a Michelin star!

Tallen our server was amazing. He was so educated on the menu and helped us make the best decisions for our food. Also, the guy that brought us the oil & complementary appetizer was so sweet. God bless the staff that gave amazing service.

We made it just in time because there was no wait and the restaurant wasn't crowded yet. We were greeted by Connor, who was a pleasure to have as our server. He made great recommendations and gave us his honest opinions about the food and drinks, which we really appreciated. I had the citrus chicken, while my family ordered the mushroom ravioli and spaghetti. Everything was delicious, and the fresh-squeezed lemonade was wonderful! I also tried a lavender mocktail. It was okay, although I think it may have tasted better as a cocktail. By the time we were ready to leave, there was a wait, so we were glad we arrived when we did. There is also plenty of outdoor seating if you prefer to dine outside. We really enjoyed the flavorful dishes, the friendly service, and the overall experience. We'll definitely be back again!

Nothing special with the escargot, but it was still delicious. The crispy brussel sprouts were good, but the balsamic glaze through my family off lol, but I still loved it. Nothing special about the pepperoni pizza at all. The melted Raclette was really fancy and delicious. They came out with melted cheese and scraped it onto our bread and prosciutto. Palo Alto dip was weird, but pretty good too. I don't think I've ever eaten anything like that. The bow tie pasta was ok. The Citrus Chicken and Beef Bourguigon were very tasty and flavorful. Overall, a bit pricey, but the food portions were generous and the quality on some of these dishes were worth it. The staff here were fast and friendly. Lots of tables to dine at to include outside in a tent, buuut it's summer so indoor sounds better lol. Lots of parking as well.

This time, I can't leave College Station without trying the 1791 Old Fashioned. All I can say is this particular drink is in my top 3 hands down and I had many old fashions in my time working at my current job (on my day offs, of course). They put a teaspoon of brown sugar to tone down the strength of the Whiskey (Buffalo Trace) but not for the Whiskey to lose it's purpose. I will most certainly get it again. They also have a food menu just in case you want to order something to eat. Next time I'm in College Station and staying at The George Hotel, I'm coming back. Good job everyone that worked, this past Thursday and Friday night.

Keep in mind that looking for the "second cheapest wine" will not work there - price points a randomly distributed, so you really need to look for a decent wine at decent price - our choice Il Borro Pian di Nova at $80 had reasonable QPR. We had a number of appetizers - not bad on average, but non stood out. Arugula and pear salad had strangely off putting flavor. I had pasta bolognese with wagyu beef sauce and it was good, no complaints. Good service, prompt and friendly.
