Loved having breakfast here! Everything was tasty... ordered 2 sets of chilaquiles, some waffles, and a fruit bowl... the chilaquiles were delicious and the kids enjoyed the waffles and the eggs. I ate the fruit bowl and it was also so good with all their toppings. Staff was friendly and the oceanfront view is fantastic... wanted to try it for dinner but was never able to make it back unfortunately. But definitely worth a shot for breakfast!

This is part of the Marriott, autograph collection now. The view is absolutely beautiful on the beach, with a firepit and live music. What I didn't like was that there was an upcharge to come here if you're on all-inclusive. It was $35 per adult and $17 per child. At the front desk was when they told us there was an upcharge for adults but they told us kids were free. It wasn't until we got to the restaurant that they told us children were also an upcharge. There's also certain drinks you could not get and then the wagyu was another upcharge. I just felt like there was an upcharge for everything. They told us if we buy a bottle of wine, they will take the upcharge off, but the bottle needs to be more expensive then the entrance charges to get in. We did not end up doing that. The drinks we could get unlimited but everything else was limit 1 per person. So each person could order one appetizer, one entree and one dessert. The service was good, the food was good, but there's so many options on this resort and the food everywhere at the other restaurants were also so good, that I don't know if this place is worth the entrance fee. I will say though, the live music was very nice, and I'm not sure they have steak at the other restaurants, so if you really want steak, this might be the only place.

Food: 6* Service: 5* Ambiance: 5* The service was excellent. Attentive but not annoying, helpful but not hovering. The ambiance was open air with a live guitar playing hits next to a fire pit. You could hear the ocean waves lapping ashore while seeing the ocean crowned in silvery moonlight. The food, can we talk about the food? 6* out of 5 does NOT do it justice. For an appetizer, I had a dozen oysters. Being February, I asked if it was advisable to eat them as I had always heard only eat oysters in months that end in R (e.g. September, October, ...). Well mine were delicious, plump, juicy, and briny. Wow!My partner also ordered scallops. They were sea scallops, big, juicy, and plump. We washed it all down with an espresso martini, delicious! For the main, I had the lobster tail, thinking only a small langoustine or small single tail. Was I pleasantly surprised to find 3 x 4 oz. Lobster tails. They were plump, sweet, me ample. My partner had the New York steak. Normally we choose rib eye in the US, but we have found the New York steak in Latin America to be superior to rib eye from the same region, it was succulent, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. Our friends shared a tomahawk steak. It was huge. But, fryer tasting it, I preferred our New York much better, for its flavor and tenderness. We asked for Cabernet and they gave us one from "California" he said. What he meant to say was Baja California. It wasn't bad but really sub-par. We asked for an Italian and he produced a Montepulciano and it was delicious and for the same price. I would return again. In fact, we did 2 nights later.

This was the fastest service since we've been in Hacienda del Mar. The food was absolutely delicious. The octopus is to die for, and my favorite dish of the night. It was so much for an appetizer that I did not finish my salmon, I would definitely come back and just order it. The braised beef rib however did not sit well on my fiancé's stomach. Other than that, everything was great. The bread was also amazing!

Slow service, no menus. And they brought us the wrong drinks. The food is actually very good once you get it. For a restaurant attached to a high caliber hotel I expected much more!

When we stay here, we eat at De Cortez at least 2-3 times. Their food was amazing, the ambience is unbelievable, and the service is impeccable. It's right next to the beach. I suggest you go at sunset, right when it opens for evening and you will get the best service.

Was here for breakfast. Seated closest to the beach, but be careful because most umbrellas can't be moved and the sun could be irritating. Very prompt and friendly service by Griselda, our server. The ocean sounds and breeze set up for a great ambiance and relaxing feel. Chilaquiles are good, but a little soupy. Too much sauce for my liking. And a croissant option instead of bread for the croque madam would've made my day.

The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing. The decor is very nice and chic. It is right at the water and makes a wonderful setting for romantic dinners. The staff is very professional. Our server Daniel was amazing, he was very knowledgeable and was able to recommend food from the menu. He also made sure he asked if we had any allergies...

Impeccable service. Great selection of steaks and seafood. The chimichurri sauce was mind blowing.

We fine dine in Cabo every night for 2 weeks every year. One of the best restaurants we have been to in Cabo. Absolutely Phenomenal all the way around! Hospitality, Service, and Food was top notch! * * I would post more photos, but all my photos are in video form because the presentation was always so spectacular!

It was definitely a five star experience. It was my last night in Cabo and we've decided to have our dinner at De Cortez and I was literally blown away by the quality of service, food presentation, delicious food and the ambiance. My aunt and I shared their meat and seafood platter and it was enough for three people. It comes with 3 kinds of red meat, fish of the day, shrimps and scallops and also it was accompanied by 4 sauces and 2 sides. It was delicious and overwhelming at the same time. They'll serve you asparagus gazpacho with baked bread as a starter and some homemade bread and butter which I literally ate most of them---i seriously love soft, fresh homemade bread. After our dinner we decided to try their Opera cake for dessert and some coffee honey a cocktail drink with Crown Royal, Baileys and Brazilian espresso---i wasn't expecting it was a cold drink though. Let's talk about their amazing service. They all have an amazing rhythm as if I'm watching a show. I can tell that they take pride on what they do and they do it with passion. Watching the chef's and the server work hand in hand was a great entertainment for me. Thanks for the wonderful experience De Cortez!

Surprisingly good! Service was excellent and outdoor seats had a great ocean view. We went there for dinner for two consecutive nights and was consistently wowed by the food. - Seared scallops - Will pass on this since the scallops are overcooked to the point of rubbery - Sea bass ceviche - Yum! ordered it both nights. - Slow roasted pork belly - So good, you will not regret it! - Beef tartare - loved it! - Clam Cream - taste was really good but presentation was a little trying too hard - Garlic shrimp (to share) - great flavors and aggressive spices. Recommended! - New York steak - cooked to perfection but portion is HUGE. - Risotto with beets - didn't think I'd like it but it was delicious. I do think the color was a little off putting though because of the beets. - Seafood delight - the shrimp and sauce was good but everything else was overcooked. Rubbery scallops, dry fish, hard octopus. Will pass.

Once you get to the front door you are greeted by the hostess where you walk through a short hallway to the main bar area that is surrounded by shelves filled with pottery. The interiors are stunning!! We were seated in their outdoor patio area, which is absolutely beautiful. This area has a cozy fire pit area for lounging and hanging out with friends and is surrounded by small tables for romantic dinners or larger tables for groups. Either way it is romantic and the backdrop is a spectacular fountain with 3 whale tails as sculptures! The music is clubby and fun! Tonight our sever was Thomas and he was so good! He greeted us shortly after we sat down and got our drink orders. . He also told us at this point all the specials for the night. He gave us time to think over our choices and came back with the cocktails to get our orders. Then he coursed out everything perfectly. We started with tonights special of Toro and added Hamachi off the menu. Those were spectacular not only in presentation but taste! and the fish extremely fresh! Three of the four of us had a shrimp and crab enchiladas, all the other had the grilled chicken. All the portions were perfect and very flavorful! Overall, everything about this restaurant was spectacular including the two cats that wander through the restaurant. They only come over if you invite them, and they are adorable. I'm not sure if they're there all the time but they were there tonight.

Prices are comparable to other hotel restaurants, and the service and food quality was OK. We had spent the afternoon at the nearby beach until sunset, so ended up eating dinner a bit later than we got used to during our trip. Estrella has a large dining space, both inside and out. It was a bit humid to enjoy the outside, so chose to sit inside. There weren't many customers, so got identified quickly and seated. It was night, so the only views were of the lighted courtyard. Service was prompt throughout. The mango frozen margarita (MX$360) looked interesting so got one of those, along with a 1 L bottle of Fiji water (MX$170). I know I need to get used to paying for water for dine-in in Mexico, but only having Fiji available in the restaurant seems manipulative. The margarita was excellent. Our server recommended to us to get the special of the night: a three course meal with main entree of a trio of chicken, shrimp, and bacon-wrapped filet medallion (MX$741). I wanted to try seafood, so got the Tuna tower (MX$380). The first course (a really good spinach salad) and the tuna tower came out first. The tower was tasty...the chef had done a really good job of chopping all the ingredients into equal diced pieces; the fresh and delicious avocado put it over the top. The tuna quality was what it is...not great but didn't really mind. The main entree came a bit later, and my wife enjoyed it (we were both really hungry)... I got to sample some pieces. The shrimp was the best part, small size but perfectly grilled with just the right amount of salt to bring out the great shrimp flavor. The chicken was overcooked, resulting it being dry and a bit chewy. The beef was not great: it wasn't filet mignon, but another part of the loin. The bacon was an afterthought and didn't really impart any flavor, with the wooden toothpicks (to hold the bacon in place) still imbedded in the steak, which is just a mistake...a really good steak knife will cut right through it, and then you are eating wooden toothpick pieces imbedded in random steak bites. But the portions were good to be a filling meal, with a good mashed potato as base. We also got a thick chocolate mousse for dessert, which we enjoyed. Guests of the resort get a 'discount' card...ours was 10% off of food (not including alcohol) at resort restaurants. When I let our waiter know before our dessert came, our waiter strongly told me that 'specials' are not part of that, like I should have known that already. When the bill came, he pointedly showed me that he had correctly applied the discount to only tuna tower and water. He was right, but his attitude was wrong. We charged it to our room, gave a minimal tip, and left.

Comal is absolutely perfection in its aesthetic and design. All details have been very intentionally implemented. Every single person there is inviting/welcoming and warm. The servers mastery of the menu and cuisine is fantastic. Their cocktails are creative and full of fresh ingredients. Absolutely delicious. Extensive wine list with ability to pair nicely with all of their dishes. Their crudo list is delectable. The Kampachi is a MUST!! Not a huge fan of the tuna tostada, but instead go for the tuna sashimi with ponzu! Incredible! Sea scallops and oysters! For apps, go for Doraditos, rib eye quesadilla, empanadas, etc. All the main courses are fabulous. Personally, when I'm in Baja, have to go with fresh Totoaba. Their Totoaba is incredible. Hands down an incredible experience and can't wait to go back!!!

She said the portions were small and this was a reasonable order. She also mentioned the shrimp was very small came with three pieces each so we needed two for the party. After seating at 8:30, we did not get any food until 9 pm, one hour after our reservation, even though everything was pre-ordered. There is no reason to pre-order if you can't get the food out in a reasonable timeframe. On top of that, we had to ask multiple times for blankets, water glasses weren't refilled, and things were forgotten. By this point, our celebrant had gotten very tired and was falling asleep waiting for all of our food. Our entrees came, and it was an extreme amount of food for 6 people. They gave us an extra entree that we did not order and they were insistent that we did. After checking our pre-order email, we did in fact only order one. The shrimp actually came with 4-5 pieces, so we didn't need two orders. While the food was great, the lack of service, bad time management, and inattentiveness to the whole meal was not appreciated. Be aware if you're booking a large party. Giving a second star for the good food.
