Toro in Cabo was awesome -- great vibe, amazing food, and super friendly service. The tuna chicharron and short ribs were my favorites, and the cocktails were spot on. Definitely worth a visit!

One of the best meals I've had since being in Cabo! A friend recommended and she didn't tell not one lie. Starting off with the ceviche basically told us how the big hurt would go. Each dish got better and better! Ordered everything we had. Also note that the service wasn't pushy. They let us enjoy our food and didn't harass us to keep spending money like some other camp restaurants.

Our first time at Toro and everything about this place was amazing! Excellent service and ambiance. Our server Francisco was great and so helpful with deciding what to order. He made our experience very memorable. The food was so flavorful! And the bread and dip was to die for!! We can't wait to come back during our next trip to Cabo!

We had a truly excellent evening here! We just got back from there and are still talking about it. The setting is stunning...very nice decor starting with the grand entrance. The service was on point and everything we ordered was delicious. My favorites...ribeye, empanada, lomo saltado and the churros! Highly recommend it if you are in the area.

My recommendation - Book a reservation and go and enjoy and amazing dining experience! If you need more info, read on. We visit Cabo San Lucas one or twice a year. The only mandatory item on our itinerary is dinner at Toro, the exception this time is we dined at Toro twice during our one week stay. The experience, the service and the food are always amazing. The cuisine is a fusion of Japanese and Mexican, add to that the Executive Chef is from Peru, and you get an amazing menu. The ambiance is wonderful, understated, simple, natural, and yet elegant. You arrive to a long stairway lined with candles. When you enter you are greeted and welcomed in. The main dining room has very high ceiling; the walls are lined with simple pottery that is artfully lit. The exhibition kitchen is on one side and the bar and sushi bar is in the middle. Beyond that is a patio with a whale tail fountain. We always request to sit outside. There are individual lights on the tables and heaters when needed. The service is always top notch. On our first visit Ruffo was our server. He was friendly, charming, and very accommodating. We told him we wanted to start with a cocktail and wanted to take our time and enjoy our evening. He was very respectful of our request and timed our food expertly. He was always available but never pushy. The whole staff works as a team, and your needs are always attended too quickly. On our second visit, Jesus was our server. Quite different from Ruffo, Jesus was part server and part entertainer. We very much enjoyed his service as well. They have a great specialty cocktail menu. I had a Manhattan, and it was presented with a single large ice cube and Italian cherries. Nice touches! The Food: We started with appetizers. The first round was "Humita" Empanadas and "Loma Saltado" Empanadas. They are served two to an order. Ruffo asked the kitchen to cut them for us, so they were easy to share. He announced when he served them that he would order the rest of our appetizers when we finished the empanadas. Nice that he was so in tuned to our request. Both were delicious. My favorite was the Humita, filled with yellow corn, cheese, and spices. Our second round of appetizers was the Short Rib Tacos and the Acevichado Roll. I am not a fan of sushi rolls or seafood, but this roll was amazing! The short rib tacos come three to an order, since there were four of us, Ruffo had a fourth added to the order. The tacos are very good. I could eat them and an entrée, Entress: Four servers approached our table with our entrees. All our dishes were presented all at the same time. Again, top notch service! We tried the Shrimp and Crab Enchiladas - great presentation and delicious. Cusco Style Chicken - perfectly cooked with a wonderful sauce. Catch of the Day - Seabass with a grilled stuff avocado and wonderful sauce to accompany it. The fourth entrée was the fish tacos from the appetizer menu, they were excellent. Alas after a few hours of great food and service where we done! And no room left for dessert. So, we had to make a second visit. On visit two we had all the same appetizers, but we order two of the Acevichado Roll this time, and we also added the Asian Vegetables Smoked with "Chaufa" Rice. Oh My God! This is what would appear to be a simple rice dish, but it was truly amazing. I could have ordered two order and made that my entrée. For dessert we ordered the churros and chocolate cake. The churros come with four dipping sauces and hot chocolate. The chocolate cake was moist and topped with mousse and ganache. Valet parking is provided. From the minute we walked in, until the moment we left, we enjoyed our time at Toro. It is rare that a restaurant can maintain such high standards over many years. We have taken many friends with us to Toro and recommended it to many others, all have raved about their experience as well. Did you book your reservation yet?

What incredible meals. First off, the patio is so stunning. They have amazing music, the lighting is gorgeous and moody, and the restaurant itself is so impressive. Service is top notch and very attentive, The food was so memorable - unique and delicious. I tried the beet salad which was really fresh and lovely. Had a wonderful crudo with roe that was deliciously acidic and fresh. Both rolls, one the more with more Peruvian flair, and the salmon were amazing. I would say the aburi salmon was the winner of the two, but it was close! We also had big plates of jamon that were delicious, and I had really unique margaritas with delicious black rock salt and a nice kick! Absolute gem of a place, and convenient if you're staying on the resort. Excellent restaurant.

Loved their creative asian latin fusion menu. The menu is designed to be shared, so it's easy to try a lot of different types of flavors. My favorite was by far the empanadas which had a flaky crisp and buttery exterior. Service, like many restaurants in cabo was excellent. The staff was very attentive, helpful, and knowledgable about the menu. They were also very accommodating to add more vegetarian options like variants of their sushi (though there's already several options). Ambiance deserves a separate mention because it is amazing. A fire pit in the middle with couch seating surrounding it, a waterfall with whale statues, and large palm trees comprise the impressive outdoor space. I'd definitely recommend eating outside instead of indoor (which is nice too, but not as nice). It's a perfect romantic spot but also good for groups. It's nearby monuments beach which has a fantastic view so you can stop by there after as well. Will definitely visit again!

Beautiful restaurant. Attentive staff. The music was a little loud but the vibe was nice. Limited summer menu but everything we ordered was delicious. The complimentary bread, ceviche, fish tacos, and churros were all fresh. I was slightly disappointed that the menu on their website wasn't up to date, specifically the lomo saltado wasn't offered during the summer months. Overall would recommend.

When I'm in an all-inclusive resort, I generally do not want to leave since everything is covered. When it's a joint bachelorette party and the brides want to go off resort to a restaurant, you go. Toro was a delight. Thank goodness. The décor and art of the restaurant was beautiful. The food was excellent and since we had so many girls in our party, we got to try a lot of things! I will call out the standouts. The Mercado Margarita ( I think it was passionfruit?) was incredible. So refreshing and light at the same time. We spent a fortune on these because we kept ordering more. The Poblano soup. Holy cow. So flavorful and so freaking delicious. I will not forget that soup. Ever. Other items I recommend are the shrimp enchiladas, the Lobster roll, the Yellow Ceviche. Service was excellent. They were definitely on top of it. 10/10 recommend! If you're going to dine somewhere off resort, this is where it's at!

Toro was by far the best restaurant we encountered in Cabo. The staff were amazing, the ambience was incredible, and the food was to die for. The sushi roll was the best roll I've ever had in my life and I will crave it to the grave. 10/10!

Service: 20/10 Food: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 We've stayed at Esperanza multiple times and had no idea that this restaurant was literally right outside of the property. As Esperanza has a limited number of restaurants on property, we were excited to try Toro - and it did not disappoint! We were able to grab a last minute reservation and sat at the bar. Our waiter was friendly and the service was amazing. Food was inventive and delicious! My husband and I tried a variety of dishes to share and left very happy. Great wine selection as well! I don't drink hard alcohol, but their selection looked wonderful for those who do. Definitely worth a try! We will be returning next time we are in Cabo.

Had read of this place prior, and when saw it was by our resort had to give it a shot - amazing service, food was outstanding and atmosphere was energetic yet relaxing! Came for dinner with family and couldn't have been a better memory! Highly recommended!

Prices are comparable to other hotel restaurants, and the service and food quality was OK. We had spent the afternoon at the nearby beach until sunset, so ended up eating dinner a bit later than we got used to during our trip. Estrella has a large dining space, both inside and out. It was a bit humid to enjoy the outside, so chose to sit inside. There weren't many customers, so got identified quickly and seated. It was night, so the only views were of the lighted courtyard. Service was prompt throughout. The mango frozen margarita (MX$360) looked interesting so got one of those, along with a 1 L bottle of Fiji water (MX$170). I know I need to get used to paying for water for dine-in in Mexico, but only having Fiji available in the restaurant seems manipulative. The margarita was excellent. Our server recommended to us to get the special of the night: a three course meal with main entree of a trio of chicken, shrimp, and bacon-wrapped filet medallion (MX$741). I wanted to try seafood, so got the Tuna tower (MX$380). The first course (a really good spinach salad) and the tuna tower came out first. The tower was tasty...the chef had done a really good job of chopping all the ingredients into equal diced pieces; the fresh and delicious avocado put it over the top. The tuna quality was what it is...not great but didn't really mind. The main entree came a bit later, and my wife enjoyed it (we were both really hungry)... I got to sample some pieces. The shrimp was the best part, small size but perfectly grilled with just the right amount of salt to bring out the great shrimp flavor. The chicken was overcooked, resulting it being dry and a bit chewy. The beef was not great: it wasn't filet mignon, but another part of the loin. The bacon was an afterthought and didn't really impart any flavor, with the wooden toothpicks (to hold the bacon in place) still imbedded in the steak, which is just a mistake...a really good steak knife will cut right through it, and then you are eating wooden toothpick pieces imbedded in random steak bites. But the portions were good to be a filling meal, with a good mashed potato as base. We also got a thick chocolate mousse for dessert, which we enjoyed. Guests of the resort get a 'discount' card...ours was 10% off of food (not including alcohol) at resort restaurants. When I let our waiter know before our dessert came, our waiter strongly told me that 'specials' are not part of that, like I should have known that already. When the bill came, he pointedly showed me that he had correctly applied the discount to only tuna tower and water. He was right, but his attitude was wrong. We charged it to our room, gave a minimal tip, and left.

They had us pre-order all of our menu items, and we had two people who had a family emergency who couldn't make it. I asked the server if we could cut it down to which they were fine with, and I asked her if our order was a reasonable amount of food for six people. She said the portions were small and this was a reasonable order. She also mentioned the shrimp was very small came with three pieces each so we needed two for the party. After seating at 8:30, we did not get any food until 9 pm, one hour after our reservation, even though everything was pre-ordered. There is no reason to pre-order if you can't get the food out in a reasonable timeframe. On top of that, we had to ask multiple times for blankets, water glasses weren't refilled, and things were forgotten. By this point, our celebrant had gotten very tired and was falling asleep waiting for all of our food. Our entrees came, and it was an extreme amount of food for 6 people. They gave us an extra entree that we did not order and they were insistent that we did. After checking our pre-order email, we did in fact only order one. The shrimp actually came with 4-5 pieces, so we didn't need two orders. While the food was great, the lack of service, bad time management, and inattentiveness to the whole meal was not appreciated.
