    Mushroom, bacon, egg toast.
    Sofia W.

Sat outside for brunch with some girlfriends. Took quite a while to get our order taken and have the food actually come out, but once it did it was good! Had some yummy Aperol Spritz as well. I had a cheesy mushroom bacon + egg toast. It could definitely have used some salt, pepper, additional seasonings, but overall good. Took forever to get our bill, but it was a good experience with good friends. Very nice to be able to sit outside on the canal as well.

My brother and I were looking for a healthy brunch spot near the Anne Frank House. We both enjoyed our brunch choices. I chose the Acma Simit, a Turkish bagel packed with flavor. We ate and enjoyed people watching as we sat at the window and watched folks walk alongside the canal. It was a great location only a few minutes walk from the museum and other attractions. Service was very attentive and they were accommodating as it was hot and we ended up moving to a shadier spot.

Service was exceptional and the avotoast was absolutely delicious!! We sat outside along the canal and had a very peaceful view overlooking the water. The seating area was decorated with luscious greens and flowers - perfect for photo taking! Would definitely go back! :)

It is a salad with of course lentils, but also goats cheese and nuts and it tastes delicious! I thought all the salads on the menu looked really good so I really want to come back soon. You can also create your own salad and choose all the ingredients. I also a had juice; apple/pear/mint. Delicious! Well it should be because its pretty damn expensive. 5 euros, and not even a big glass.. But well, it was good. There is also free water which is nice. The interior was beautiful and cozy. The space is quaint, cozy, and feels like stepping straight into a classic Dutch living room. If it's your first time or you just want a bit of everything, the stamppot combination plate is unbeatable. Getting to sample all three traditional mashes--hutspot, boerenkool, and zuurkool--paired with a juicy smoked sausage or traditional Dutch meatball is pure comfort on a plate. The Erwtensoep (Dutch pea soup) served with rye bread and smoked bacon is rich, thick, and incredible on a cool afternoon. Start off with the bitterballen or Dutch shrimp croquettes to share while you wait. Service is super friendly, welcoming, and effortlessly switches between languages without missing a beat. Because the dining room is small and intimate, it fills up remarkably fast--booking a table online in advance is essential, especially if you're aiming for dinner. A total gem for proper, unpretentious Dutch cuisine!

And despite ALL of our meals in Amsterdam being excellent, this one may have been the best. We wanted to try Dutch food, not totally knowing what to expect and were blown away by the combination of flavors and textures we consumed. We started with the pickled herring which was served with onions and pickles- fresh yet bold! I'm still thinking about those little fishies weeks later. Then we each had the sampler-ish plates (I forget what it was called). Hers was the vegetarian version and mine was with sausage. There were 3 kinds of essentially mashed potatoes with veggies mixed in: 1 with spinach I think, 1 with carrots, and 1 with sauerkraut. Mine came with a delightfully rich gravy and my moms came with some kind of lighter yellow sauce (I think mustard based). We tried these same dishes at other Dutch restaurants during our stay, but nothing beat The Pantry. The service in this quaint and cozy spot was also excellent!

We dropped off our little frame with our mothers in it. The server originally asked us to place it wherever we see fit, but the owner (she has the manager vibe) came over and helped us picked an even better spot! Service was what I thought was slow, but then we learned that Dutch people are very customer-focused, so we had to initiate an eye contact and signal to them that we are ready to close our check. I also found out that tipping is not required. Who would have thought? Oh, and also water is not free. Lastly, be sure to make a reservation because this place very packed for the duration of our meal and some people got turned away.
